Abstract

This article is an air-cooled hydraulic system equipped with a hydraulic pump and a cooling radiator. For the names of each part, please refer to the "Reference Oblique View Showing the Names of Each Part." The air-cooled hydraulic system according to this design has an electric motor assembled integrally with the hydraulic pump fixed on the top cover of a hydraulic tank that stores hydraulic oil. In addition, a radiator that cools the hydraulic oil is located on the opposite side of the hydraulic pump from the electric motor. When the electric motor starts to operate the hydraulic pump, it sends out hydraulic oil. The drain generated during operation is cooled by the radiator and returned to the tank. One end of the electric motor shaft is connected to the hydraulic pump, and a cooling fan is attached to the other end. The cooling fan is located between the radiator and the electric motor. A hood is attached between the radiator and the electric motor to surround the cooling fan. The hood consists of a rectangular section and a cylindrical section. The cylindrical portion of the hood contains the cooling fan and is slightly larger than the fan's nominal diameter (the outer edge of the rotating cooling fan) and is sized to face the radiator side of the motor (see right-side view and left-side view). This allows the opening of the cylindrical portion to remain unobstructed and the airflow to flow unimpeded, resulting in high cooling efficiency. The opening of the cylindrical portion also has gaps throughout to allow air to pass through, and a finger guard is attached to prevent fingers from entering through the opening. This prevents workers' fingers from touching the cooling fan. The rectangular portion covers the top, side, and motor-facing surface of the radiator. In other words, the radiator is housed in the rectangular portion of the hood, with only the surface opposite the motor exposed. This allows the airflow drawn in by the cooling fan to reach the radiator without leaking, improving cooling efficiency.
