Abstract

This article relates to a drilling tool used to drill through holes in substrates placed on the backside of walls and ceilings. Referring to a reference perspective view and a reference diagram of how the tool is used, the handle is opened to retract the male blade, placing the receiving tube inside the substrate, and the handle is returned to its original position to advance the male blade into the receiving tube, thereby drilling a through hole in the substrate. As shown in the reference diagram of how the tool is used, the receiving tube has a recess formed in it so that the receiving tube can be inserted without coming into contact with a substrate that is narrow and has a lip at its tip.
