AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing boiling type coolers face issues with reduced heat transfer efficiency due to the occurrence of local dry-out and limited bubble generation rate, primarily because the liquid phase refrigerant struggles to flow into and out of the boiling surface holes, especially under high heat flux conditions.
Method used
The boiling surface is processed using energy beam technology to create irregular uneven grooves that extend linearly, allowing for increased bubble generation and smooth refrigerant flow, thereby preventing local dry-out.
Benefits of technology
The solution effectively enhances bubble generation rate and prevents local dry-out by ensuring efficient refrigerant supply and heat transfer, even under high heat flux conditions.

Abstract
To provide a boiling type cooler capable of suppressing occurrence of partial dry-out while increasing a rate of bubble generation by forming protrusions and recesses on a boiling surface.SOLUTION: A boiling type cooler 100 of this invention includes a boiling part 10 for boiling a refrigerant 5 by heat exchange with a heating element HS, and a condensing part 20 for condensing the refrigerant 5 vaporized by the boiling part 10 and returning the refrigerant to the boiling part 10. The boiling part 10 includes an attachment surface 11a of the heating element HS, and a boiling surface part 13 provided on a surface 11b opposite from the attachment surface 11a and coming into contact with the refrigerant 5. The boiling surface part 13 includes a groove part 14 linearly extending and having irregular protrusions and recesses due to melting and solidifying of a material by energy beam machining.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
