Abstract

To makes it possible to utilize a heat storage material using a molten salt at high temperatures while suppressing decomposition of the molten salt.SOLUTION: A heat storage system (10) comprises a boiler (11) that heats water and steam (ST) which serve as working fluid, a steam turbine (12) that generates power from the water and steam, a high-temperature tank (33) and a low-temperature tank (34), which receive a liquid-phase heat storage material (HS) using a molten salt, a heat exchanger (31) that exchanges heat between the water / steam and the heat storage material, and a suppression section (40) that suppresses decomposition of the molten salt received in the high-temperature tank. The suppression section comprises a gas analysis unit (42) that measures the concentration of gas generated by decomposition of the molten salt, and a gas supply unit (43) that supplies a filler gas according to the gas. A control unit (50) controls supply of the filler gas by the gas supply unit on the basis of the measurement results of the gas analysis unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
