Gripper loom equipped with diagnostic device for gripper driving system

Abstract

To provide a diagnostic device capable of continuously monitoring the performance of a gripper driving system and reporting all possible abnormalities of the gripper driving system in a gripper loom equipped with the gripper driving system.SOLUTION: A gripper loom equipped with a diagnostic device for a gripper drive system G, comprises a detection device M arranged in the vicinity of a toothed crown C for causing the reciprocating linear motion of a gripper of the loom, and control software. The detection device is configured to detect a parameter which correlates with a physical shape of the toothed crown rotating during operation of the loom. The control software executes the steps of: constructing an electronic profile of the toothed crown; detecting a possible abnormality in the electronic profile in comparison with the normal operation of the gripper drive system; generating the correlation between the detected abnormality of the electronic profile and the corresponding abnormality of at least one particular component of the gripper drive system; and generating a corresponding warning signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
