[0003] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 3-46018 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0004] In this type of vertical rotating electric machine, when the cylindrical body rotates together with the shaft, the oil in the oil tank ripples, causing some of the oil to climb up onto the upper surface of the inner wall of the oil tank, which may cause the oil on the upper surface of the inner wall to fall outside the oil tank, i.e., cause oil to leak from the oil tank.

[0005] One of the problems to be solved by the present invention is to provide a vertical rotating electric machine capable of suppressing oil leakage from an oil tank. [Means for solving the problem]

[0006] A vertical rotating electric machine according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a stator, a rotor having a shaft extending in a vertical direction, a portion of which is inserted into the stator and rotatable around a rotation center axis, a cylindrical body that is cylindrical and spaced apart from an outer circumferential surface of the shaft and surrounds the outer circumferential surface of the shaft and rotates integrally with the shaft, a bearing that is located radially outward of the rotation center axis with respect to the cylindrical body and supports the cylindrical body rotatably around the rotation center axis, an oil tank that is cylindrical and surrounds the outer circumferential surface, has an inner circumferential wall that is spaced apart from the shaft and the cylindrical body and is located between the outer circumferential surface and an inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical body, accommodates the cylindrical body and the bearing, and stores oil in which the cylindrical body and the bearing are immersed, and an oil return section that protrudes radially outward from the inner circumferential wall and is located vertically above an upper surface of the oil when the shaft is stopped. Effect of the Invention

[0007] According to an embodiment of the present invention, for example, oil leakage from an oil tank of a vertical rotating electric machine can be suppressed. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0009] An embodiment will be described below. In this specification, components according to the embodiment and descriptions of the components may be described in a plurality of ways. The components and their descriptions are merely examples and are not limited by the descriptions in this specification. The components may be identified by names different from those in this specification. The components may also be described by descriptions different from those in this specification.

[0010] In addition, the drawings are schematic, and the dimensional relationships and ratios of each element may differ from reality. Furthermore, the drawings may include parts whose dimensional relationships and ratios differ from one another. In this specification, ordinal numbers are used only to distinguish between parts, members, sites, positions, directions, etc., and do not indicate order or priority.

[0011] <First embodiment> Fig. 1 is a side view showing a vertical rotating electric machine 1 according to an embodiment. As shown in Fig. 1, the vertical rotating electric machine 1 includes a housing 5, a stator 6, a rotor 10, a bearing structure 100, and a lower bearing 200. The rotor 10 and the bearing structure 100 are integrated to form a unit 2. The unit 2 is connected to the housing 5. The lower bearing 200 is an example of a bearing.

[0012] In the vertical rotating electric machine 1, the rotor 10 is supported by an upper bearing 110 and a lower bearing 200 included in a bearing structure 100 so as to be rotatable about a rotation center axis Ax relative to the housing 5 and the stator 6. For example, the upper bearing 110 is a thrust bearing, and the lower bearing 200 is a radial bearing. Note that the upper bearing 110 and the lower bearing 200 are not limited to the above.

[0013] The rotation center axis Ax is the center of rotation of the shaft 31 of the rotor 10 in the vertical rotating electric machine 1, and is, for example, a virtual straight line passing through the center of the shaft 31. In this embodiment, the rotation center axis Ax is along the vertical direction. That is, the shaft 31 is along the vertical direction. The axial direction, radial direction, and circumferential direction of the rotation center axis Ax are the same as the axial direction, radial direction, and circumferential direction of the rotor 10 (shaft 31). In the following description, unless otherwise specified, the axial direction, radial direction, and circumferential direction are the axial direction, radial direction, and circumferential direction of the rotation center axis Ax, that is, the axial direction, radial direction, and circumferential direction of the shaft 31. Also, the arrow D1 shown in FIG. 1 etc. indicates the upward direction in the vertical direction. Hereinafter, the upward direction and the downward direction in the vertical direction may be simply referred to as the upward direction and the downward direction.

[0014] The housing 5 has a generally cylindrical outer shape. The housing 5 has an upper wall 5a, a lower wall 5b, and a cylindrical portion 5c. The housing 5 is made of, for example, a metal material.

[0015] The upper wall 5a and the lower wall 5b are both annular disks around the rotation axis Ax, and are provided substantially parallel to each other with a vertical gap between them. The tubular portion 5c is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape around the rotation axis Ax. That is, the tubular portion 5c extends in the vertical direction and surrounds the rotation axis Ax. The tubular portion 5c is provided across the upper wall 5a and the lower wall 5b, and is fixed to the upper wall 5a and the lower wall 5b.

[0016] The stator 6 extends in the vertical direction. In other words, the stator 6 extends in the axial direction. The stator 6 has a stator core 21 and a stator winding (not shown). The stator core 21 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape surrounding the central axis of rotation Ax. The stator winding is attached to the stator core 21 by passing through slots provided in the stator core 21.

[0017] The rotor 10 has a shaft 31 and a rotor core 32. The shaft 31 is supported by the housing 5 via an upper bearing 110 and a lower bearing 200 so as to be rotatable about the rotation axis Ax. This allows the shaft 31 (rotor 10) to rotate relative to the stator 6 about the rotation axis Ax.

[0018] The shaft 31 is formed in a generally cylindrical shape extending in the vertical direction, i.e., along the central axis of rotation Ax. The shaft 31 extends between the inside and the outside of the housing 5. The shaft 31 has a middle portion 31a and two outer extension portions 31b, 31c.

[0019] The middle portion 31a is a part of the shaft 31 located inside the housing 5. The middle portion 31a is located between the two extending portions 31b and 31c. A lower end portion of the middle portion 31a in the axial direction is supported by the lower bearing 200 so as to be rotatable around the central rotation axis Ax.

[0020] The extension portions 31b and 31c are parts of the shaft 31 located outside the housing 5. The extension portion 31b extends upward from the upper end of the middle portion 31a and protrudes from the upper wall 5a to the outside of the housing 5. The extension portion 31b is supported by the upper bearing 110 so as to be rotatable around the rotation axis Ax. The extension portion 31c extends downward from the lower end of the middle portion 31a and protrudes from the lower wall 5b to the outside of the housing 5.

[0021] The extension portion 31c is provided with, for example, a flange, a key groove, or a spline, and is coupled to an external device so as to be able to transmit rotation, whereby the vertical rotating electric machine 1 outputs torque to the external device or receives torque from the external device.

[0022] The rotor core 32 is coupled (fixed) to a middle portion 31a of the shaft 31. The rotor core 32 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape surrounding the central axis of rotation Ax, and is disposed inside the stator core 21 of the stator 6. The rotor core 32 rotates integrally with the shaft 31.

[0023] Next, a lower structure including the lower bearing 200 in the vertical rotating electric machine 1 will be described. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view showing a portion including the lower bearing 200 in the vertical rotating electric machine 1 according to the first embodiment. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing a portion including the lower bearing 200 in the vertical rotating electric machine 1 according to the first embodiment. Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing a portion including an inner circumferential wall 304a of the oil tank 300 in the vertical rotating electric machine 1 according to the first embodiment.

[0024] 2, the vertical rotating electric machine 1 includes a cylindrical body 51, a lower bearing 200, an oil tank 300, and a cooling device 321 at a lower portion of the vertical rotating electric machine 1. The cylindrical body 51, the lower bearing 200, and the cooling device 321 are accommodated in the oil tank 300. The oil tank 300 stores a predetermined (prescribed) amount of oil 401. At least a portion of the cylindrical body 51, at least a portion of the lower bearing 200, and the cooling device 321 are immersed in the oil 401.

[0025] The cylindrical body 51 is provided on the shaft 31 and rotates integrally with the shaft 31. As an example, the cylindrical body 51 is formed integrally with the shaft 31. Note that the cylindrical body 51 may be provided as a separate member from the shaft 31 and fixed to the shaft 31. The cylindrical body 51 is made of, for example, a metal material. The cylindrical body 51 is also referred to as a receiving portion or a guide portion.

[0026] The cylindrical body 51 is connected to the shaft 31 via a connecting portion 52. The cylindrical body 51 extends downward from the connecting portion 52. The cylindrical body 51 is formed in a cylindrical shape that is spaced apart from the outer peripheral surface 31d of the shaft 31 and surrounds the outer peripheral surface 31d of the shaft 31. The cylindrical body 51 has an outer peripheral surface 51a and an inner peripheral surface 51b. The inner peripheral surface 51b is inclined with respect to the vertical direction so as to face vertically downward as it extends radially outward.

[0027] The lower bearing 200 is located radially outward of the rotation center axis Ax with respect to the cylindrical body 51, and supports the cylindrical body 51 rotatably about the rotation center axis Ax. The lower bearing 200 supports the shaft 31 via the cylindrical body 51 rotatably about the rotation center axis Ax.

[0028] 2 and 3, the lower bearing 200 has a plurality of bearing pads 201 and a support device 202 that supports the plurality of holding pads in a position adjustable manner. Note that in Figs. 2 and 3, one of the plurality of bearing pads 201 is shown.

[0029] The multiple bearing pads 201 are arranged at intervals in the circumferential direction. Each bearing pad 201 faces the outer peripheral surface 51a of the cylindrical body 51 and rotatably supports the cylindrical body 51. The bearing pads 201 are formed in a curved shape that follows the outer peripheral surface 51a of the cylindrical body 51. Oil 401 is interposed between the bearing pads 201 and the outer peripheral surface 51a of the cylindrical body 51. A groove 201a is provided on the outer periphery of the bearing pad 201.

[0030] The support device 202 has an adjustment bolt 203 , a base portion 204 , and a support member 207 .

[0031] The base portion 204 is supported on an outer peripheral wall 303 of the oil tank 300 via ribs 205. The base portion 204 is provided with a female screw portion 206.

[0032] The support member 207 is supported by the base portion 204 so as to be movable in the radial direction. The support member 207 is fixed to the base portion 204 by a fastener 209 such as a bolt. A bearing pad 201 is fixed to an end portion of the support member 207 on the inner side in the radial direction, and the support member 207 and the bearing pad 201 move together.

[0033] The adjustment bolt 203 is radially movably coupled to the female screw portion 206 of the base portion 204. The tip of the adjustment bolt 203 is inserted into the groove 201a of the bearing pad 201, and can push the bearing pad 201 radially inward.

[0034] In the support device 202 having the above-mentioned configuration, the radial position of the bearing pad 201 can be adjusted by the adjustment bolt 203 .

[0035] The oil tank 300 stores (contains) oil 401 for lubricating and cooling the lower bearing 200. The oil tank 300 is formed in a cylindrical shape around the shaft 31 (rotation center axis Ax). The oil tank 300 is fixed to the housing 5 via a bracket 208.

[0036] The oil tank 300 has a lower wall 301, an upper wall 302, an outer peripheral wall 303, and an inner peripheral wall 304a. The oil tank 300 is made of, for example, a metal material. The inner peripheral wall 304a is also called a standpipe.

[0037] The lower wall 301 is an annular plate around the central axis of rotation Ax. Although an example in which a step is provided on the lower wall 301 is shown in Fig. 2, the step may not be provided.

[0038] The upper wall 302 is an annular plate around the central axis of rotation Ax. The upper wall 302 is located above the lower wall 301. A seal member 311 is provided between the inner peripheral edge of the upper wall 302 and the outer peripheral surface 31d of the shaft 31.

[0039] The outer peripheral wall 303 is a cylindrical plate around the central axis of rotation Ax, and extends between the outer peripheral edge of the lower wall 301 and the outer peripheral edge of the upper wall 302 .

[0040] The inner peripheral wall 304a is a cylindrical plate around the central axis of rotation Ax, and extends upward from the inner peripheral edge of the lower wall 301. The inner peripheral wall 304a is cylindrical and surrounds the outer peripheral surface 31d of the shaft 31, and is spaced apart from the shaft 31 and the cylindrical body 51 and is located between the outer peripheral surface 31d of the shaft 31 and the inner peripheral surface 51b of the cylindrical body 51.

[0041] The inner peripheral wall 304a has a lower surface 304aa, an upper surface 304ab, an outer peripheral surface 304ac, and an inner peripheral surface 304ad. The outer peripheral surface 304ac is the radially outer surface of the inner peripheral wall 304a. The inner peripheral surface 304ad is the radially inner surface of the inner peripheral wall 304a.

[0042] 4, the upper surface 304ab of the inner circumferential wall 304a is inclined with respect to the vertical direction so as to be directed downward in the vertical direction as it extends radially outward. Note that the upper surface 304ab of the inner circumferential wall 304a is not limited to the above.

[0043] 2 and 4, the inner circumferential wall 304a is provided with an oil return portion 304b. The oil return portion 304b and the inner circumferential wall 304a constitute the inner circumferential wall member 304.

[0044] 4, the oil return portion 304b protrudes radially outward from an outer circumferential surface 304ac of the inner circumferential wall 304a. The oil return portion 304b is formed in an annular shape around the central rotation axis Ax.

[0045] The oil return portion 304b has a lower surface 304ba, an upper surface 304bb, and an outer peripheral surface 304bc. The upper surface 304bb of the oil return portion 304b is inclined with respect to the vertical direction so as to face downward in the vertical direction as it moves radially outward. The upper surface 304bb of the oil return portion 304b and the upper surface 304ab of the inner peripheral wall 304a are continuous and form a single inclined surface 304c.

[0046] The oil return portion 304b is located vertically above the upper surface 401a of the oil 401 when the shaft 31 is stopped. When the shaft 31 is stopped, the cylindrical body 51 is also stopped. In other words, the stopped state of the shaft 31 is a state in which the shaft 31 and the cylindrical body 51 are not rotating.

[0047] 2, the cooling device 321 is housed in the oil tank 300 and is immersed in the oil 401. The cooling device 321 is, for example, an oil cooler, and cools the oil 401.

[0048] Next, a description will be given of the movement of the oil 401 during operation of the vertical rotating electric machine 1. Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view showing a portion including the inner circumferential wall 304a of the oil tank 300 in the vertical rotating electric machine 1 according to the first embodiment, and shows an example of the state of the oil 401 in the oil tank 300 during rotation of the shaft 31.

[0049] As shown in FIG. 5, when the cylindrical body 51 rotates together with the shaft 31, the rotation of the cylindrical body 51 may cause rippling in the oil 401 in the oil tank 300. In this case, the oil 401 moving upward hits the oil return part 304b, and the upward movement is restricted, and the momentum of the oil 401 decreases. That is, the oil return part 304b restricts the upward movement of the oil 401, and reduces the momentum of the oil 401. In addition, when an oil droplet 401c, which is a part of the oil 401, bounces upward from the oil return part 304b and rides on the upper surface 304bb of the oil return part 304b or the upper surface 304ab of the inner peripheral wall 304a, the oil droplet 401c descends on the upper surfaces 304ab, 304bb toward the inside of the oil tank 300 due to the inclination of the upper surfaces 304ab, 304bb, and returns to the inside of the oil tank 300. The arrow F1 in FIG. 5 indicates the descending direction of the oil droplet 401c.

[0050] As described above, the vertical rotating electric machine 1 of this embodiment includes the stator 6, the rotor 10, the cylindrical body 51, the lower bearing 200 (bearing), the oil tank 300, and the oil return section 304b. The stator 6 extends in the vertical direction. The rotor 10 has the shaft 31 that extends in the vertical direction, a part of which is inserted in the stator 6 and is rotatable around the rotation axis Ax. The cylindrical body 51 is cylindrical and separates from the outer circumferential surface 31d of the shaft 31, surrounding the outer circumferential surface 31d, and rotates integrally with the shaft 31. The lower bearing 200 is located radially outward of the rotation axis Ax with respect to the cylindrical body 51, and supports the cylindrical body 51 rotatably around the rotation axis Ax. The oil tank 300 has an inner circumferential wall 304a, houses the cylindrical body 51 and the lower bearing 200, and stores oil 401 in which the cylindrical body 51 and the lower bearing 200 are immersed. The inner circumferential wall 304a is cylindrical and surrounds the outer circumferential surface 31d of the shaft 31, and is located between the outer circumferential surface 31d of the shaft 31 and the inner circumferential surface 51b of the cylindrical body 51, separated from the shaft 31 and the cylindrical body 51. The oil return section 304b protrudes radially outward from the inner circumferential wall 304a, and is located vertically above the upper surface 401a of the oil 401 when the shaft 31 is in a stopped state.

[0051] According to this configuration, since the oil return portion 304b protrudes radially outward from the inner circumferential wall 304a, even if the cylindrical body 51 rotates together with the shaft 31 and the oil 401 in the oil tank 300 undulates, the oil 401 moving upward hits the oil return portion 304b and is restricted from moving upward. That is, the oil return portion 304b can restrict the upward movement of the oil 401. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the oil 401 from climbing up onto the upper surface 304ab of the inner circumferential wall 304a of the oil tank 300 and the oil 401 on the upper surface 304ab from dropping outside the oil tank 300. It is also possible to prevent the oil 401 from jumping over the inner circumferential wall 304a and dropping outside the oil tank 300. That is, according to the above configuration, it is possible to prevent the oil 401 from leaking from the oil tank 300. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the oil 401 from adhering to the periphery of the vertical rotating electric machine 1 and to devices connected to the extension portion 31c of the shaft 31.

[0052] Further, an upper surface 304bb of the oil return portion 304b is inclined with respect to the vertical direction so as to approach vertically downward as it approaches radially outward.

[0053] According to this configuration, when an oil droplet 401c, which is a part of the oil 401, rides up on the upper surface 304bb of the oil return part 304b, the oil droplet 401c descends toward the inside of the oil tank 300 on the upper surface 304bb of the oil return part 304b due to the inclination of the upper surface 304bb of the oil return part 304b, and returns to the inside of the oil tank 300. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the oil 401 on the upper surface 304bb of the oil return part 304b from dropping outside the oil tank 300. In addition, it is possible to prevent a plurality of oil droplets 401c from forming a single mass on the upper surface 304bb, and the mass from dropping outside the oil tank 300 and leaking. That is, according to the above configuration, it is possible to prevent the oil 401 from leaking from the oil tank 300.

[0054] Moreover, an upper surface 304ab of the inner circumferential wall 304a is inclined with respect to the vertical direction so as to face vertically downward as it extends radially outward. An upper surface 304ab of the inner circumferential wall 304a and an upper surface 304bb of the oil return portion 304b are continuous with each other.

[0055] According to this configuration, when an oil droplet 401c, which is a part of the oil 401, runs up on the upper surface 304ab of the inner circumferential wall 304a, the oil droplet 401c descends toward the inside of the oil tank 300 along the upper surface 304ab, 304bb of the oil return portion 304b due to the inclination of these upper surfaces 304ab, 304bb, and returns to the inside of the oil tank 300. This makes it possible to prevent the oil 401 on the upper surface 304ab of the inner circumferential wall 304a from dropping outside the oil tank 300. In addition, it is possible to prevent a plurality of oil droplets 401c from forming a single mass on the upper surface 304ab and the mass from dropping outside the oil tank 300 and leaking. In other words, according to the above configuration, it is possible to prevent the oil 401 from leaking from the oil tank 300.

[0056] <Second embodiment> FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view showing a portion including an inner peripheral wall 304a of an oil tank 300 in a vertical rotating electric machine 1 according to the second embodiment.

[0057] 6, in this embodiment, the inner circumferential surface 51b of the cylindrical body 51 and the outer circumferential surface 304bc of the oil return part 304b are inclined with respect to the vertical direction so as to face downward in the vertical direction as they move radially outward. In addition, the outer circumferential surface 304bc of the oil return part 304b is aligned with the inner circumferential surface 51b of the cylindrical body 51.

[0058] According to this configuration, the oil 401 is less likely to pass between the inner circumferential surface 51b of the cylindrical body 51 and the outer circumferential surface 304bc of the oil return portion 304b. Therefore, leakage of the oil 401 from the oil tank 300 can be further suppressed.

[0059] <Third embodiment> FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view showing a portion including an inner peripheral wall 304a of an oil tank 300 in a vertical rotating electric machine 1 according to a third embodiment.

[0060] 7, in this embodiment, the vertical rotating electric machine 1 includes a plurality of oil return parts 304b arranged in the vertical direction. In addition, a lower surface 304ba of the oil return part 304b, which is the surface opposite to the upper surface 304bb of the oil return part 304b, is curved in a concave shape.

[0061] According to this configuration, since a plurality of oil return sections 304b are provided, leakage of the oil 401 from the oil tank 300 can be further suppressed.

[0062] Although some embodiments of the present invention have been described, these embodiments are presented as examples and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention. These novel embodiments can be implemented in various other forms, and various omissions, substitutions, and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
