Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a water-soluble lubricant release agent for warm-hot plastic working, which is applied by coating on the surface of a die when a chromium-containing metal is subjected to warm-hot plastic working. [Background technology]
[0002] In warm and hot plastic working, various parts are processed and produced by widely applying a water-soluble lubricant release agent for warm and hot plastic working to the surface of the die in order to release the workpiece and to cool the surface of the die and ensure workability. The water-soluble lubricant release agent used in warm and hot plastic working is water-based, and is usually diluted with water before being applied to the surface of the die.
[0003] Various metallic materials are used depending on the type of parts being produced. Metallic materials such as chrome steel and chrome-molybdenum steel, which are used for gear parts that require particular strength, and stainless steel, which is used for piping parts that require corrosion resistance, contain a high proportion of chromium as a material component.
[0004] It is known that when a chromium-containing metal material is processed using a water-soluble lubricant release agent for warm and hot plastic processing, some of the components of the lubricant release agent react with the chromium in the metal material at high temperatures, usually around 600 to 1300°C, to generate hexavalent chromium. Since hexavalent chromium is a substance that is harmful to the environment and human body, and from the viewpoint of ensuring the safety of workers at production sites, it is an important issue to suppress the generation of hexavalent chromium during warm and hot plastic processing of chromium-containing metals.
[0005] Patent Document 1 (JP Patent Publication No. 2003-21469) discloses that in an apparatus for heat treating materials such as industrial waste, chromium-containing materials are not used in areas that may be exposed to high temperatures or flames, thereby preventing the generation of hexavalent chromium.
[0006] Patent Document 2 (Japanese Patent No. 3599711) discloses an admixture for fixing hexavalent chromium, the main components of which are sodium chloride (or sodium aluminate), ferrous sulfate, and sodium silicate, and a method for solidifying soil or sludge by using the admixture in combination with a cement solidification agent, and describes the reduction of hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium using a reducing agent that is ferrous sulfate.
[0007] Furthermore, Patent Document 3 (Japanese Patent No. 5280254) discloses a self-lubricating zinc-plated metal material that uses a composition containing a silica sol produced using a reducing agent capable of reducing hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium in the presence of water.
[0008] However, although Patent Documents 1 to 3 relate to techniques for preventing the generation of hexavalent chromium, none of them is related to lubricant release agents for use in the plastic working of chromium-containing metals. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0009] [Patent Document 1] JP 2003-21469 A [Patent Document 2] Patent No. 3599711 [Patent Document 3] Patent No. 5280254 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0022] Water-soluble lubricant / release agent for warm and hot plastic working of chromium-containing metals The water-soluble lubricant release agent for warm and hot plastic working of chromium-containing metals of the present invention is a water-based lubricant release agent that is applied to a die and used, and is characterized by containing (A) an alkali salt of an organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid, (B) a water-soluble polymeric compound, (C) a reducing agent, and (D) water, and the blending ratio of the (A), (B) and (C) components is within a specific range. The warm forging referred to here is a method of plastic working a chromium-containing metal workpiece such as chromium steel at a heating temperature of about 600°C to 1000°C. The hot forging referred to here is a method of plastic working a chromium-containing metal workpiece such as chromium steel at a heating temperature of about 1000°C to 1300°C.
[0023] (A) Alkaline salt of organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid In the water-soluble lubricant release agent of the present invention, the alkali salt of an organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A) is used to impart strength and heat resistance to the formed lubricating film.
[0024] As the alkali salt of an organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A), an amine salt or an alkali metal salt of an organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid can be used.
[0025] Examples of the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid include adipic acid, sebacic acid, suberic acid, azelaic acid, dodecanedioic acid, phthalic acid, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, itaconic acid, trimellitic acid, pyromellitic acid, benzoic acid, paranitrobenzoic acid, salicylic acid, 2,3-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, and 2-naphthoic acid. One or more selected from these may be used.
[0026] Examples of the alkali salt include alkali salts of amines such as ethylamine, diethylamine, monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, methyldiethanolamine, monoisopropanolamine, diisopropanolamine, triisopropanolamine, methylethanolamine, diglycolamine, diethylaminoethanol, cyclohexylamine, and benzylamine; and alkali metal hydroxides such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. One or more types selected from these may be used.
[0027] The alkali salt of an organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A) may be in the form of an alkali carboxylate from the beginning and used as a raw material, or the alkali carboxylate may be formed by reacting the carboxylic acid with an amine or an alkali metal hydroxide, etc., during the production stage of the lubricant.
[0028] The blending ratio of the alkali salt of the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A) is determined by the blending ratio with the water-soluble polymer compound (B) and reducing agent (C). However, care must be taken because if too much is used, the adhesion of the lubricating film tends to decrease, and if too little, the strength and heat resistance of the lubricating film tend to decrease.
[0029] (B) Water-soluble polymer compound In the water-soluble lubricant release agent of the present invention, the water-soluble polymer compound (B) is intended to impart adhesion to the lubricating coating.
[0030] Examples of the water-soluble polymer compound (B) include polyacrylic acid, styrene-maleic acid copolymer, acrylic acid-maleic anhydride copolymer, carboxymethyl cellulose, isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer, methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer, and the like. Alkali metal salts or amine salts of one or more compounds selected from these can be used.
[0031] The water-soluble polymer compound (B) can be used by converting it into an alkali metal salt or amine salt and dissolving it in water. When converting it into an alkali metal salt, it is preferable to react it with sodium hydroxide to convert it into a sodium salt, or with potassium hydroxide to convert it into a potassium salt. When converting it into an amine salt, In this case, it is preferable to react it with an alkanolamine, for example, ethanolamine, to form an ethanolamine salt, etc.
[0032] The proportion of the water-soluble polymer compound (B) is appropriately about 10 to 100 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the alkali salt of the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A). If the proportion of the water-soluble polymer compound is less than 10 parts by mass, the adhesion of the lubricating coating tends to be insufficient, and if it exceeds 100 parts by mass, there is a risk of reduced heat resistance to high temperatures, so care must be taken.
[0033] (C) Reducing agent In the water-soluble lubricant release agent of the present invention, the reducing agent (C) is intended to impart a property of suppressing the generation of hexavalent chromium when the water-soluble lubricant release agent for warm-hot plastic working is used to perform plastic working of a metal material containing chromium. It is believed that such a property is due to the reducing agent reducing the generated hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium.
[0034] Examples of the reducing agent (C) include organic hydroxycarboxylic acids such as ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate, potassium ascorbate, calcium ascorbate, erythorbic acid, sodium erythorbate, potassium erythorbate, calcium erythorbate, citric acid, sodium citrate, potassium citrate, calcium citrate, gluconic acid, sodium gluconate, potassium gluconate, calcium gluconate, and 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid; alkali sulfites such as sodium sulfite, potassium sulfite, calcium sulfite, magnesium sulfite, ammonium sulfite, sodium hydrogen sulfite, potassium hydrogen sulfite, calcium hydrogen sulfite, and ammonium hydrogen sulfite; alkali thiosulfates such as sodium thiosulfate, potassium thiosulfate, and ammonium thiosulfate; hyposulfites. alkali pyrosulfite salts such as sodium pyrosulfate and potassium pyrosulfite; alkali pyrosulfite salts such as sodium pyrosulfate; alkali pyrosulfite salts such as potassium pyrosulfite; alkali hypophosphites such as sodium hypophosphite, potassium hypophosphite, calcium hypophosphite, magnesium hypophosphite, and ammonium hypophosphite; alkali salts of ethylenediaminetetraacetate such as disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate and calcium disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate; reducing sugars such as glucose, fructose, galactose, maltose, lactose, lactulose, and cellobiose; iron (II) sulfate; polyphenols such as catechin, anthocyanin, tannin, rutin, isoflavone, curcumin, chlorogenic acid, ellagic acid, and lignans, and one or more selected from these can be used.
[0035] Of the above-mentioned reducing agents (C), preferred ones include, for example, organic hydroxycarboxylic acids such as ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate, potassium ascorbate, calcium ascorbate, erythorbic acid, sodium erythorbate, potassium erythorbate, calcium erythorbate, citric acid, sodium citrate, potassium citrate, calcium citrate, gluconic acid, sodium gluconate, potassium gluconate, and calcium gluconate; and alkali sulfites such as sodium sulfite, potassium sulfite, calcium sulfite, magnesium sulfite, and ammonium sulfite.
[0036] The mixing ratio of the reducing agent (C) is suitably about 2 to 40 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the alkali salt of the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A). If the mixing ratio of the reducing agent is less than 2 parts by mass, the effect of suppressing the generation of hexavalent chromium tends to be insufficient, and if it exceeds 40 parts by mass, the effect of suppressing the generation of hexavalent chromium and its duration become excessive, which is not preferable from the viewpoint of cost and may also cause the balance of the film components to be lost, which may adversely affect the lubrication performance, so caution is required.
[0037] (D)Water Water (D) is used as a solvent for the coating components and for the purpose of cooling during warm and hot plastic working. Industrial water, tap water, distilled water, ion-exchanged water, pure water, etc. can be used as water (D). The content of water (D) is the balance excluding each of the components (A), (B), and (C) and other additive components.
[0038] The content of water (D) in the lubricant release agent of the present invention is usually about 30 to 95 mass % when the total mass of the lubricant release agent is 100 mass %, which is preferable from the viewpoint of forming a homogeneous aqueous solution containing (A) the alkali salt of the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid, (B) the water-soluble polymer compound and (C) the reducing agent.
[0039] Other Ingredients In addition to the above-mentioned essential components, additives such as various surfactants, preservatives, and antifoaming agents may be added to the lubricant release agent of the present invention, if necessary.
[0040] An example of the method for producing the lubricant release agent of the present invention is shown below. For example, the water-soluble polymer compound (B) is added to the water (D) and completely dissolved by stirring using a stirrer. Furthermore, the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid or its alkali salt (A) and the reducing agent (C) are added and completely dissolved by stirring. Here, the order of addition of the alkali salt of the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A), the water-soluble polymer compound (B) and the reducing agent (C) may be changed as appropriate. At this time, if heat is generated due to the neutralization reaction, it is desirable to dissolve while appropriately cooling. After these components are completely dissolved, other components (surfactants, preservatives, antifoaming agents, etc.) are added as necessary and stirred to obtain the lubricant release agent.
[0041] An example of a method of using the lubricant release agent of the present invention is shown below. The lubricant release agent of the present invention is a stock solution containing each of the essential components in a specific blending ratio, and the stock solution usually contains about 30 to 95 mass% water. This stock solution can be used as is, but it is preferable to use the stock solution diluted 3 to 50 times with water. For example, by diluting the stock solution before use, the concentration of the lubricant release agent can be adjusted to a level suitable for the conditions of use. In addition, since the stock solution before dilution is stored or transported during storage or transportation, a smaller volume is required than the diluted solution when used, and the storage and transportability of the lubricant release agent can be improved.
[0042] The stock solution or a solution obtained by diluting the stock solution with water is directly applied to the mold by air mix spray or the like. When the water evaporates, the lubricating release agent applied to the mold forms a lubricating film of solid components on the mold surface, and is used for warm and hot plastic working of chromium-containing metals. The release lubricant of the present invention has excellent lubricity and can suppress the generation of hexavalent chromium when warm and hot plastic working of chromium-containing metal materials such as chromium steel, chromium molybdenum steel, and various stainless steels, so it can be suitably used when warm and hot plastic working of chromium-containing metal materials. EXAMPLES
[0043] The present invention will be described in more detail below based on examples and comparative examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples.
[0044] Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6 The water-soluble lubricant release agents of Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6 were prepared in the following manner using the components shown in Tables 1 and 2. The numerical values of the blending ratios in Tables 1 and 2 indicate mass %.
[0045] In each of the Examples and Comparative Examples 2 to 6, the water-soluble polymer compound (B), the alkali salt of the organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid (A), and the reducing agent (C) were added to the water (D), and the mixture was stirred with a stirrer to completely dissolve the mixture, to prepare the water-soluble lubricant release agent of the present invention or for comparison. In Comparative Example 1, the water-soluble lubricant release agent for comparison was prepared in the same manner as in each of the Examples, except that the reducing agent (C) was not added.
[0046] [Table 1]
[0047] [Table 2]
[0048] The blending ratios of components (B) and (C) per 100 parts by mass of component (A) in each of the examples and comparative examples are shown in Table 3. The numerical values of the blending ratios in Table 3 indicate parts by mass.
[0049] [Table 3]
[0050] Next, for each of the lubricant release agents in Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6, the coating weight of each was set to 15±1 g / m so as to prevent any difference in performance due to the coating weight of the lubricant film. 2 After adjusting the concentration so that the following performance test was carried out.
[0051] 1. Adhesion test Each of the lubricating release agents of Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Example 1 was heated to 200°C and sprayed onto the surface of a die (material: SKD-61, shape: φ60 × 20 mm) placed at an angle. The uniformity of the film attached to the die surface was visually evaluated (good: ◯, poor: ×), and the amount of film attached (g / m2) was calculated from the weight of the die before and after application. 2 ) was calculated.
[0052] The spray application was performed using a spray gun ST-5RW manufactured by Fuso Seiki Co., Ltd., with a discharge rate of 200 mL / min, a coating time of 0.5 seconds, and a distance of 300 mm between the nozzle and the mold.
[0053] 2. Lubricity test As a lubricity test, a spike test was performed to evaluate the lubricating performance of each of the lubricating release agents of Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6. That is, a lubricating film of each of the lubricating release agents was attached to a spike test die (material SKD-61) under the same spray conditions as in the adhesion test, and a cylindrical test piece (material SUS304, shape φ18 mm × 22 mm) was compression molded with a crank press machine (manufactured by Komatsu Industries Co., Ltd.) under the conditions of a processing cycle of 35 SPM, a test piece temperature of 1100 ° C, a die temperature of 200 ° C, and a fixed die height, and a spike test was performed to compare the lubricating performance based on the molding load (KN) and the spike height (mm) after the test.
[0054] The results of the spike test were judged to be such that the higher the spike height and the lower the molding load, the better the lubricity. Specifically, the lubricity was expressed by the following formula, and if the value of the lubricity expressed by the formula was 0.0044 or more, the lubrication performance was judged to be excellent. Lubricity = spike height (mm) / forming load (KN)
[0055] 3. Hexavalent chromium generation confirmation test A chrome steel material (material: SCR420, shape: φ20mm×17mm) was heated to 200°C, directly immersed and coated with each of the lubricating release agents of Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6, and immediately dried. Then, a test piece was placed in a crucible, heated and held in an air atmosphere for 15 minutes in a heating furnace at 1100°C, and then the crucible was removed from the heating furnace and left for about 1 hour until the temperature of the test piece became 50°C or less. The crucible and the like were then immersed in 100ml of purified water for about 1 hour, and the liquid filtered through a membrane filter (made of cellulose fiber) with a pore size of 0.45μm was used to check for the generation of hexavalent chromium.
[0056] The generation of hexavalent chromium was confirmed by using a hexavalent chromium measurement kit (Kyoritsu Rikagaku Kenkyusho, hexavalent chromium reagent WAK-Cr6) to determine the presence or absence of hexavalent chromium in the above-mentioned confirmation target. The presence or absence of hexavalent chromium was determined by comparing the test results of the above-mentioned confirmation target with the standard color (hexavalent chromium) provided with the kit.
[0057] 4. Overall evaluation For the overall evaluation, if the spike test showed good lubricity and the hexavalent chromium generation confirmation test showed good results (no results), it was judged as ○, and if either the spike test or the hexavalent chromium generation confirmation test showed poor results, it was judged as ×.
[0058] The test results and overall evaluation of the water-soluble lubricant release agents of Examples 1 to 9 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6 are shown in Tables 4 and 5 below.
[0059] [Table 4]
[0060] [Table 5]
[0061] From the results of each Example, it is found that the water-soluble lubricant release agent for warm-hot plastic working, which contains a predetermined amount of an alkali salt of an organic low molecular weight carboxylic acid, a water-soluble polymeric compound, a reducing agent, and water, has excellent lubricity and an effect of suppressing the generation of hexavalent chromium. Also, from the results of each Comparative Example, it is found that when the reducing agent is not contained in a predetermined amount, the effect of suppressing the generation of hexavalent chromium is not exhibited, and when the water-soluble polymeric compound is not contained in a predetermined amount or when the reducing agent is too much, the lubricating performance becomes insufficient. [Industrial Applicability]
[0062] The water-soluble lubricant release agent for warm-hot plastic working of the present invention has excellent lubricity and can suppress the generation of hexavalent chromium when chromium-containing metals are subjected to warm-hot plastic working. Therefore, it is preferably used in the warm-hot plastic working of workpieces that are chromium-containing metal materials such as chromium steel, chromium-molybdenum steel, and various stainless steels.
