Abstract

To suppress failure or degradation of a circuit breaker.SOLUTION: An energy storage system 10 includes a PCS 30, a plurality of storage battery banks 51 connected in parallel to the PCS 30 via power lines, a circuit breaker 65 respectively provided in the plurality of storage battery banks 51, a detector 53 for detecting an abnormality of the energy storage system, and control devices 40, 55, and 75. When an abnormality of the energy storage system is detected, the control devices 40, 55, and 75 stop the PCS 30 and then OPEN the circuit breaker 65 to disconnect the storage battery bank 51 from the power line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
