Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a locking device for a brake pedal of a vehicle. [Background technology]
[0002] A conventional brake pedal locking device of this type is the vehicle anti-theft device disclosed in Patent Document 1, for example. This vehicle anti-theft device includes a pedal stopper and a key device. The pedal stopper is inserted into a pedal frame of the brake pedal and abuts against the floor or other surface inside the vehicle, thereby preventing the brake pedal from being operated. The key device prevents the pedal stopper, inserted into the pedal frame, from coming off the pedal frame. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] International Publication No. 2006 / 134630 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] In the above-described vehicle theft prevention device, a pedal stopper is inserted into the pedal frame to prevent the brake pedal from being operated. This prevents the vehicle from being safely driven, thereby preventing theft of the vehicle. However, when the pedal stopper is used to prevent the brake pedal from being operated, the pedal stopper, while inserted into the pedal frame, comes into contact with the interior of the vehicle, such as the floor. This raises the risk of the pedal stopper damaging the interior of the vehicle. [Means for solving the problem]
[0005] The means for solving the above problems and their effects will be described below. A brake pedal locking device that solves the above problem is a brake pedal locking device that has a pedal portion and an arm portion that supports the pedal portion, and the arm portion is rotatably supported on a support portion provided on a vehicle, and is equipped with an attachment portion that is attached to the support portion, a rotation suppression portion that suppresses rotation of the arm portion by engaging with the arm portion when the attachment portion is attached to the support portion, and a locking portion that locks the rotation suppression portion when the rotation suppression portion suppresses rotation of the arm portion. [0007] (First embodiment) The first embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. <Brake pedal device 11> As shown in Fig. 1, a brake pedal device 11 for operating the brakes of a vehicle is provided around the feet of a driver seated in a driver's seat in the cabin of, for example, a gasoline-powered vehicle or an electric vehicle. The brake pedal device 11 includes a brake pedal 12 and a pair of support plates 13 as an example of a support portion that supports the brake pedal 12. The brake pedal device 11 is made of a highly rigid material such as metal.
[0008] In the following description, the front-rear direction, left-right direction, and up-down direction correspond to the front-rear direction, left-right direction, and up-down direction when the forward direction of the vehicle is defined as the front. 1 and 2, the pair of support plates 13 are provided on the vehicle in a state of being disposed opposite each other in the left-right direction. Rectangular mounting holes 15 for mounting a locking device 14 (see FIG. 3) for the brake pedal 12, which will be described later, are formed through the lower ends of the pair of support plates 13 so as to face each other in the left-right direction. Circular support holes 16 for supporting the brake pedal 12 are formed diagonally above and rearward of the mounting holes 15 in the pair of support plates 13 so as to face each other in the left-right direction.
[0009] The brake pedal 12 has a pedal portion 17 and an arm portion 18 that supports the pedal portion 17. The arm portion 18 is plate-shaped, extending from an upper front portion to a lower rear portion, and has a thickness in the left-right direction. The pedal portion 17, which is a rectangular plate, is fixed to the lower end of the arm portion 18. The upper end of the arm portion 18 is disposed between the pair of support plates 13. A rotation shaft 19 extending in the left-right direction is provided to pass through the upper end of the arm portion 18.
[0010] The left and right ends of the pivot shaft 19 are rotatably inserted into the support holes 16 of the pair of support plates 13, respectively. Therefore, the arm portion 18 is rotatably supported by the pivot shaft 19 in the support holes 16 of the pair of support plates 13. In other words, the brake pedal 12 is rotatably supported by the pivot shaft 19 in the support holes 16 of the pair of support plates 13.
[0011] The brake pedal 12 is configured to be rotatable around a rotation shaft 19 between an initial position (position indicated by a solid line in FIG. 2) and a rotation position (position indicated by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 2) in which the pedal portion 17 is depressed and rotated forward from the initial position. When the brake pedal 12 is in the rotation position, the vehicle brakes are activated.
[0012] The brake pedal 12 is always biased to its initial position by a biasing member (not shown). In other words, when the driver depresses the pedal portion 17 with his / her foot and rotates the brake pedal 12 from the initial position to the rotated position, the brake pedal 12 is returned from the rotated position to the initial position by the biasing force of the biasing member (not shown).
[0013] A sensor 20 that detects the brake pedal 12 in the initial position is provided at the lower end of the inner surface of one of the pair of support plates 13 (in this example, the left support plate 13). When the brake pedal 12 is rotated from the initial position to the rotation position, the sensor 20 no longer detects the brake pedal 12.
[0014] When the sensor 20 no longer detects the brake pedal 12, the vehicle determines that the brake pedal 12 has been depressed and rotated from the initial position to the rotated position, and turns on the brake lights. Normally, the vehicle cannot be started unless the brake pedal 12 has been depressed and rotated from the initial position to the rotated position, i.e., the brake lights are turned on.
[0015] <Locking device 14> 3 and 5, the locking device 14 is attached to the brake pedal device 11 and locks the brake pedal 12 in an initial position, thereby preventing the brake pedal 12 from rotating from the initial position to a rotated position. The locking device 14 includes a rotation suppressing portion 21 having a rectangular bar shape extending in the left-right direction, an attachment portion 22 provided at the left end of the rotation suppressing portion 21, and a locking portion 23 provided at the right end of the rotation suppressing portion 21. The locking device 14 is made of a highly rigid material such as metal.
[0016] 3, 4, and 6, the mounting portion 22 has an L-shaped mounting portion main body 24 that extends forward from the front surface of the left end of the rotation suppressing portion 21 and then bends upward at a right angle, and a rectangular protrusion 25 provided on the right side surface at the upper end of the mounting portion main body 24. The protrusion 25 is configured to be insertable into the mounting hole 15 in the support plate 13.
[0017] The mounting portion 22 is attached to the left support plate 13 by inserting the protrusion 25 into the mounting hole 15 of the left support plate 13 from the left side. In this case, the protrusion 25 and the mounting hole 15 are both rectangular, as described above. Therefore, the protrusion 25, when inserted into the mounting hole 15, does not rotate relative to the mounting hole 15.
[0018] With the mounting portion 22 attached to the left support plate 13, the rotation suppressing portion 21 is disposed on the rotation trajectory of the brake pedal 12 from its initial position to its rotated position. Therefore, when the brake pedal 12 is rotated from its initial position to its rotated position, the rotation suppressing portion 21 engages with the rear surface of the outer surface of the arm portion 18, thereby suppressing the rotation of the brake pedal 12 from its initial position to its rotated position.
[0019] As shown in Figures 3 to 5, locking unit 23 is provided on the right end of rotation suppressing unit 21 via L-shaped connecting unit 26, which extends forward from the front surface of the right end of rotation suppressing unit 21 and then bends upward at a right angle. In other words, locking unit 23 is provided on the upper end of connecting unit 26. As an example, locking unit 23 has a structure that imitates a known front wheel lock of a bicycle. Locking unit 23 has a main body 27, a movable member 28, and a key 29.
[0020] The main body 27 has a rectangular parallelepiped shape. The left side surface of the main body 27 is flush with the left side surface of the connecting portion 26. A rectangular insertion hole 30 extending in the left-right direction and penetrating the main body 27 is formed in a position of the main body 27 facing the protrusion 25 of the mounting portion 22 in the left-right direction. A rectangular parallelepiped moving member 28 extending in the left-right direction is inserted and supported in the insertion hole 30. The left-right length of the moving member 28 is longer than the left-right length of the insertion hole 30. The moving member 28 is configured to be insertable into the mounting hole 15 of the right support plate 13.
[0021] The movable member 28 is supported by the insertion hole 30 so as to be movable in the left-right direction. That is, the movable member 28 is supported by the insertion hole 30 so as to be movable between a locked position (a position indicated by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 3) and an unlocked position (a position indicated by a solid line in FIG. 3). When the movable member 28 is in the locked position, the left end protrudes leftward beyond the left side surface of the main body 27. When the movable member 28 is in the unlocked position, the left end surface is flush with the left side surface of the main body 27.
[0022] The insertion hole 30 is provided with a stopper (not shown) to prevent the moving member 28 from slipping out of the insertion hole 30. In other words, the moving member 28 cannot move to the left of the locked position, and cannot move to the right of the unlocked position. A biasing member (not shown) that always biases the moving member 28 toward the unlocked position is provided inside the main body 27. A keyhole 31, into which a key 29 is inserted, is formed above the insertion hole 30 on the right side surface of the main body 27. A key mechanism (not shown) is built into the main body 27.
[0023] When the driver manually moves the moving member 28, which is in the unlocked position, to the locked position against the biasing force of a biasing member (not shown), the key mechanism locks the moving member 28 in the locked position and enables the key 29 to be removed from the keyhole 31. On the other hand, when the driver presses the key 29 into the keyhole 31 while the moving member 28 is in the locked position, the key mechanism releases the locked state of the moving member 28 in the locked position and moves the moving member 28 from the locked position to the unlocked position by the biasing force of the biasing member (not shown). In other words, the locking unit 23 is configured to be manually locked and unlocked.
[0024] <Operation of the First Embodiment> Next, the operation of the locking device 14 when locking the brake pedal 12 in the initial position will be described.
[0025] 4, when locking the brake pedal 12 in the initial position with the locking device 14, the protrusion 25 of the mounting portion 22 of the locking device 14 is inserted into the mounting hole 15 of the left support plate 13 from the left side. This attaches the locking device 14 to the left support plate 13.
[0026] 6, the rotation suppressing portion 21 is disposed on a rotation trajectory of the brake pedal 12 having the arm portion 18 from the initial position to the rotated position. Therefore, when the brake pedal 12 is rotated from the initial position to the rotated position, the rotation suppressing portion 21 engages with the rear surface of the arm portion 18, thereby suppressing the rotation of the brake pedal 12 from the initial position to the rotated position. In other words, the rotation suppressing portion 21 is in a state in which it suppresses the rotation of the arm portion 18.
[0027] Furthermore, at this time, as shown in Fig. 4, the movable member 28 of the locking unit 23 and the mounting hole 15 of the right-side support plate 13 face each other in the left-right direction. In this state, when the driver manually moves the movable member 28, which is in the unlocked position, to the locked position against the biasing force of the biasing member (not shown), as shown in Fig. 5, the left end of the movable member 28 is inserted into the mounting hole 15 of the right-side support plate 13, and the rotation suppressing unit 21 is locked by the locking unit 23. In other words, the locking device 14 cannot be removed from the pair of support plates 13, so the rotation suppressing unit 21 is fixed.
[0028] At this time, a key mechanism (not shown) locks the moving member 28 in the locked position and allows the key 29 to be removed from the keyhole 31. When the driver removes the key 29 from the keyhole 31, it becomes impossible for anyone other than the driver to release the locked state of the moving member 28 in the locked position. In other words, it becomes impossible for anyone other than the driver to unlock the locking unit 23 that has locked the rotation suppressing unit 21 in a state in which the rotation suppressing unit 21 suppresses the rotation of the arm unit 18.
[0029] As a result, even if the brake pedal 12 is depressed, the brake pedal 12 will not rotate from the initial position to the rotated position, making it impossible to start the vehicle. In this case, the locking device 14 prevents the brake pedal 12 from rotating from the initial position to the rotated position by the rotation suppressing part 21 without coming into contact with the interior of the vehicle, such as the floor. Therefore, the locking device 14 can contribute to preventing theft of the vehicle without damaging the interior of the vehicle, such as the floor.
[0030] Furthermore, when removing the locking device 14 from the pair of support plates 13, first, the key 29 is pushed into the keyhole 31. This releases the locked state of the moving member 28 at the locked position with the key mechanism, and the biasing force of the biasing member moves the moving member 28 from the locked position to the unlocked position. This causes the left end of the moving member 28 to be pulled out of the mounting hole 15 of the right support plate 13, unlocking the locking unit 23 that had locked the rotation suppressing unit 21. Thereafter, the protrusion 25 of the mounting portion 22 is pulled out of the mounting hole 15 of the left support plate 13, thereby removing the locking device 14 from the pair of support plates 13.
[0031] <Effects of the first embodiment> According to the first embodiment described above in detail, the following effects are achieved. (1-1) The locking device 14 for the brake pedal 12 has a pedal portion 17 and an arm portion 18 that supports the pedal portion 17, and the arm portion 18 is rotatably supported on a pair of support plates 13 provided on the vehicle. The locking device 14 includes an attachment portion 22 that is attached to the left support plate 13, a rotation suppressing portion 21 that suppresses rotation of the arm portion 18 by engaging with the arm portion 18 when the attachment portion 22 is attached to the left support plate 13, and a locking portion 23 that locks the rotation suppressing portion 21 when the rotation suppressing portion 21 suppresses rotation of the arm portion 18.
[0032] According to the above configuration, the rotation suppressing unit 21 suppresses the rotation of the arm portion 18 without coming into contact with the interior interior of the vehicle, such as the floor surface. Therefore, the rotation of the arm portion 18 can be suppressed without damaging the interior interior of the vehicle, and therefore the rotation of the brake pedal 12 can be suppressed. Therefore, by locking the rotation suppressing unit 21 with the locking unit 23 while the rotation suppressing unit 21 is suppressing the rotation of the arm portion 18, it is possible to prevent the vehicle from being started. This contributes to preventing theft of the vehicle without damaging the interior interior of the vehicle.
[0033] (1-2) In the locking device 14 of the brake pedal 12, the rotation suppressing portion 21 engages with the rear surface (outer surface) of the arm portion 18 to suppress the rotation of the arm portion 18. According to the above configuration, it is possible to engage the rotation suppressing portion 21 with the arm portion 18 without forming a through-hole 32 (see FIG. 7 ), which will be described later, for inserting the rotation suppressing portion 21 in the arm portion 18. Therefore, it is possible to improve the strength of the arm portion 18 compared to a case where the rotation of the arm portion 18 is suppressed by inserting the rotation suppressing portion 21 into the through-hole 32 formed in the arm portion 18 and engaging the rotation suppressing portion 21 with the arm portion 18.
[0034] (1-3) In the locking device 14 of the brake pedal 12, the locking section 23 is configured to be manually locked and unlocked. According to the above configuration, the locking unit 23 can be locked and unlocked without using energy such as electricity, thereby reducing the burden on the environment.
[0035] (Second embodiment) As shown in Figures 7 and 8, in this second embodiment, the brake pedal 12 and locking device 14 of the first embodiment are replaced with a brake pedal 33 and a locking device 34, respectively. Other than this change, the second embodiment is the same as the first embodiment. Therefore, in this second embodiment, only the differences from the first embodiment will be described, and descriptions that overlap with the first embodiment will be omitted. In addition, in this second embodiment, the same components as those in the first embodiment will be assigned the same reference numerals.
[0036] <Configuration of the second embodiment> As shown in Fig. 7, the brake pedal 33 is the brake pedal 12 of the first embodiment described above, with a through hole 32 formed in the arm portion 18. The brake pedal 33 is the same as the brake pedal 12 of the first embodiment described above, except for the through hole 32 formed in the arm portion 18. A rectangular through hole 32 is formed in the arm portion 18 of the brake pedal 33 at a position opposite to the mounting holes 15 of the pair of support plates 13 in the left-right direction.
[0037] As shown in Figure 8, the locking device 34 includes a rotation suppressing portion 35 in the shape of a rectangular rod extending linearly in the left-right direction, and a locking portion 36. The left end of the rotation suppressing portion 35 is provided with a plate-shaped expanded diameter portion 37 having an outer diameter larger than that of the mounting hole 15. The right end of the rotation suppressing portion 35 is formed with a hole 38 extending in the up-down direction so as to pass through it. The rotation suppressing portion 35 is configured to be inserted into the through hole 32 of the arm portion 18 and the mounting holes 15 of the pair of support plates 13.
[0038] With the rotation suppressing portion 35 inserted through the through hole 32 and the pair of mounting holes 15, the expanded diameter portion 37 is positioned to the left of the left support plate 13, and the hole 38 is positioned to the right of the right support plate 13. In this case, the portions of the rotation suppressing portion 35 that are inserted into the pair of mounting holes 15 serve as mounting portions 39 for attaching the locking device 34 to the pair of support plates 13. Furthermore, in this case, the portions of the rotation suppressing portion 35 that are inserted into the through holes 32 serve as insertion portions 40. The rotation suppressing portion 35 suppresses rotation of the arm portion 18 by engaging with the arm portion 18 at the insertion portions 40.
[0039] The locking unit 36 has a padlock 41 and a key 42 that unlocks the padlock 41. The padlock 41 has a U-shaped latch 43 that is inserted into the hole 38, and a lock body 44 to which the latch 43 is connected. One end of the latch 43 is rotatably connected to the lock body 44, while the other end is detachably connected to the lock body 44. The other end of the latch 43 that is connected to the lock body 44 can be released from the lock body 44 by inserting and turning the key 42 into a keyhole (not shown) of the lock body 44.
[0040] <Operation of the Second Embodiment> Next, the operation when the brake pedal 33 is locked in the initial position by the locking device 34 will be described.
[0041] 8, when locking the brake pedal 33 at the initial position with the locking device 34, the rotation suppression portion 35 of the locking device 34 is inserted sequentially from the hole 38 side into the mounting hole 15 of the left support plate 13, the through-hole 32 of the arm portion 18, and the mounting hole 15 of the right support plate 13. In this way, the locking device 34 is attached to the pair of support plates 13 at the mounting portions 39.
[0042] Next, the latch 43 of the padlock 41 is passed through a hole 38 in the rotation suppression portion 35 that is located to the right of the mounting hole 15 in the right support plate 13, and the latch 43 is connected to the lock body 44. As a result, the rotation suppression portion 35 is locked by the locking portion 36 and cannot be removed from the through-hole 32 and the pair of mounting holes 15. As a result, the rotation suppression portion 35 engages with the arm portion 18 at the insertion portion 40, thereby suppressing the rotation of the arm portion 18. In other words, the brake pedal 33 is locked in the initial position by the locking device 34.
[0043] In this state, even if the brake pedal 33 is depressed to rotate it from the initial position to the rotated position in order to start the vehicle, the rotation suppressing portion 35 engages with the through-hole 32 of the arm portion 18 at the insertion portion 40, thereby suppressing the rotation of the brake pedal 33. In other words, the rotation suppressing portion 35 suppresses the rotation of the arm portion 18. As a result, the brake pedal 33 cannot rotate from the initial position to the rotated position, and the vehicle cannot be started. In this case, the padlock 41 cannot be removed from the rotation suppressing portion 35 locked by the locking portion 23 without the key 42 held by the driver. Therefore, the locking device 34 contributes to preventing the vehicle from being stolen.
[0044] Furthermore, when removing the locking device 14 from the pair of support plates 13, the padlock 41 is removed from the rotation suppressing portion 35 by inserting and turning the key 42 into a keyhole (not shown) of the lock body 44 of the padlock 41. Thereafter, the rotation suppressing portion 35 is pulled out from the expanded diameter portion 37 side through the through hole 32 and the mounting hole 15 of the pair of support plates 13. This allows the brake pedal 33 to rotate from the initial position to the rotation position.
[0045] <Effects of the second embodiment> According to the second embodiment described above in detail, in addition to the effects described in (1-1) and (1-3) above, the following effects are achieved.
[0046] (2-1) In the locking device 34 of the brake pedal 33, the rotation suppression portion 35 has an insertion portion 40 that is inserted into the through hole 32 formed in the arm portion 18, and suppresses the rotation of the arm portion 18 by engaging with the arm portion 18 at the insertion portion 40.
[0047] According to the above configuration, the configuration of the locking device 34 can be made simpler and more compact than when the rotation of the arm portion 18 is suppressed by engaging the rotation suppression portion 21 (see Figure 6) with the outer surface of the arm portion 18 without forming a through hole 32 in the arm portion 18.
[0048] <Example of change> The above-described embodiments can be modified as follows: Furthermore, the above-described embodiments and the following modifications can be combined with each other within the scope of technical compatibility.
[0049] As shown in Fig. 9, in the locking device 14 of the first embodiment, the locking unit 23 may be replaced with a locking unit 45 configured to be electrically locked and unlocked. In this way, the locking and unlocking of the locking unit 45 can be easily performed by electricity.
[0050] The locking unit 45 includes a main body 46, a moving member 47, an electric motor 48, a control unit 49, a power supply box 50, and a receiving unit 51. The moving member 47 penetrates the main body 46 in the left-right direction and is supported by the main body 46 so as to be movable in the left-right direction. The moving member 47 is formed of a rack extending in the left-right direction.
[0051] The movable member 47 is supported by the main body 46 so as to be movable between a locked position (position indicated by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 9) where the rotation suppressing unit 21 (see FIG. 5) is locked, and an unlocked position (position indicated by a solid line in FIG. 9). When the movable member 47 is moved to the locked position, the left end is inserted into the mounting hole 15 (see FIG. 5) of the right support plate 13, locking the rotation suppressing unit 21. When the movable member 47 is moved to the unlocked position, the left end is retracted from the mounting hole 15 (see FIG. 4) of the right support plate 13, unlocking the rotation suppressing unit 21.
[0052] The electric motor 48 has an output shaft 52 that extends in the vertical direction. A pinion 53 that meshes with a moving member 47 formed of a rack is provided at the tip of the output shaft 52. A control unit 49 controls the driving of the electric motor 48. A power supply box 50 supplies power to the electric motor 48 and the control unit 49. A receiving unit 51 receives a wireless signal transmitted from a mobile terminal 54 such as a smartphone.
[0053] When the receiver 51 receives a wireless signal from the mobile terminal 54, the controller 49 drives the electric motor 48 based on the wireless signal. That is, the electric motor 48 is driven by the input of the wireless signal. This rotates the pinion 53 via the output shaft 52, and moves the moving member 47 to the unlocked position or the locked position.
[0054] According to the above configuration, the electric motor 48 is driven by a wireless signal transmitted from the mobile terminal 54 to move the moving member 47 between the locked position and the unlocked position, so that the locking unit 45 can easily lock and unlock the rotation suppression unit 21 without having to reach into the narrow space around the brake pedal 12.
[0055] The receiving unit 51 may be omitted from the locking unit 45 of Fig. 9. In this case, the locking unit 45 is configured so that the electric motor 48 is driven by manual operation using, for example, a key (not shown).
[0056] 9 may be configured so that the movable member 47 can be manually moved between the locked position and the unlocked position using a key (not shown). In this way, even if the locking unit 45 becomes inoperable due to an electrical failure, the rotation suppressing unit 21 can be manually locked and unlocked by the locking unit 45.
