AI Technical Summary
Existing actuating cylinders require complex machining processes to create threads, leading to increased material consumption, weight, and assembly time, while also being prone to thread loosening and reduced service life due to dynamic loads.
The actuating cylinder is manufactured with both closure parts welded to the cylinder tube using laser ring weld seams, eliminating the need for threads and allowing for a more precise, material-efficient design with integrated sealing rings to ensure fluid-tightness and stability.
This method reduces material usage, assembly time, and maintenance needs, while enhancing the cylinder's durability and operational safety by preventing loosening and contamination, thus improving the overall quality and service life.

Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a welded working cylinder and a method for its manufacture. [Background technology]
[0002] Working cylinders are known per se from the state of the art in a variety of different designs.
[0003] All such actuating cylinders comprise a cylinder tube and a closure part. According to the current state of the art, such actuating cylinders are usually manufactured by screwing the closure part onto the cylinder tube. Therefore, these actuating cylinders are also called threaded cylinders in the prior art.
[0004] Furthermore, it is known from the state of the art to connect the base closure part to the cylinder tube by MAG welding and then only the guide closure part is screwed on.
[0005] The threads on the cylinder tube and closure parts are typically manufactured by a machining process.
[0006] Both the threaded cylinders and the cylinders with only one closure part threaded and the other closure part MAG welded are supplied in accordance with the current state of the art and have proven to be first-class and reliable products.
[0007] From a manufacturing point of view, it must be noted that, especially for the cylinder tubes, an allowance must be made in the material thickness, i.e. the tube wall thickness, so that the threads are manufactured subtractively, since the threads necessarily weaken the cylinder tube. However, this allowance results in the tube wall thickness being considerably over-sized for absorbing the forces during operation, in particular the forces caused by the working pressure of the fluid. This undesirably increases the material consumption and the final weight of the differential working cylinder.
[0008] The disadvantage is that the machining process for producing the threads requires higher precision and is therefore much more demanding to manufacture. Moreover, to achieve gas tightness of the cylinder, additional seals must be periodically inserted between the cylinder tube and each closure part. Furthermore, final assembly requires a lot of time and skilled labor.
[0009] It is also a disadvantage that additional measures must be provided to avoid the threaded connection loosening. Finally, it is a disadvantage that as a result of varying operating pressures the threads are subjected to dynamic loads which limit their useful life. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0010] The object of the invention is to provide an actuating cylinder which is of particularly high quality and which can be produced in a material-saving, simple and therefore cost-effective manner. [Means for solving the problem]
[0011] The problem is solved by the features set forth in claim 1. Further preferred embodiments are according to the dependent claims.
[0012] According to the invention, the actuating cylinder comprises a cylinder tube, a first closure part and a second closure part, hereinafter also collectively referred to as closure parts, and a piston unit.
[0013] The actuating cylinder according to the invention, produced from these basic components, can be provided in various different designs. In particular, the actuating cylinder can be a differential actuating cylinder, a plunger cylinder, a synchronizing cylinder, a telescopic cylinder, a traction cylinder or also a pneumatic actuating cylinder. If the actuating cylinder is designed as a synchronizing cylinder, it will hereinafter also be called a steering cylinder. Actuating cylinders within the meaning of the invention are furthermore understood to be in particular storage cylinders, gas spring cylinders and hydraulic shock absorbers.
[0014] The actuating cylinder according to the invention can be designed to be single-acting or double-acting. For example, a differential working cylinder is a double-acting hydraulic working cylinder with two working chambers, in which the effective piston surface in the two working chambers has different sizes. Thus, different forces act on the piston with the same working pressure in the two working directions. In contrast to a differential working cylinder, the piston rod of a synchronous cylinder is guided by guide closure parts arranged on both sides, so that the effective piston surface has the same size and therefore, the same forces act with the same working pressure in both working directions, for which reason synchronous cylinders are used in particular as steering cylinders. In contrast, a plunger cylinder is a single-acting working cylinder, in which the pressure medium displaces the piston as a solid and thus moves it outwards. The same applies to a telescopic cylinder, in which several cylinder tubes are inserted into one another and therefore a particularly long working travel is possible.
[0015] The cylinder tube has a hollow cylindrical design as known per se and according to the invention has a first cylinder tube end and a second cylinder tube end. After assembly, the first closure part is placed on the first cylinder tube end and the second closure part is placed on the second cylinder tube end. Preferably, both cylinder tube ends are manufactured in the same way. Thus, the two cylinder tube ends preferably have a chamfered axial front face, the bevels having the same angle. Thus, the axial front faces preferably have the same cross-sectional area. However, it is also possible to manufacture cylinder tube ends that are designed in a different way.
[0016] According to the invention, a first closure part is arranged at the first cylinder tube end. Preferably, the first closure part is a guide closure part. A guide closure part is understood to be a closure part which receives the piston unit in a sliding and sealing manner. In a differentially actuated cylinder, for example, the piston unit can consist of a piston and a piston rod, the piston rod being received by the guide closure part. In a plunger cylinder, the piston unit is designed as a volume-forming piston, also called plunger piston, which is received by the guide closure part. The first closure part is designed to have a contact surface which, when mounted on the first cylinder tube end, abuts against a corresponding further contact surface of the first cylinder tube end. These contact surfaces preferably completely surround the first closure part and the cylinder tube. This results in a continuous annular surface against which the first closure part abuts at the first cylinder tube end. The annular surface, if inclined, is a frustoconical flank from a geometrical point of view. For the sake of brevity, and regardless of the geometrical design, this surface will hereinafter be referred to simply as an annular surface.
[0017] According to the invention, the second closure part is arranged at the second cylinder tube end. What has been stated regarding the relationship between the first closure part and the first cylinder tube end applies analogously to the relationship between the second closure part and the second cylinder tube end. With regard to the contact surfaces, the second closure part is designed similarly to the first closure part. Preferably, the second closure part is a base closure part, which then faces axially against the piston of the piston unit and axially defines at least one working chamber of the working cylinder according to the invention.
[0018] The actuating cylinder according to the invention further comprises a piston unit. Depending on the type of actuating cylinder, the piston unit may consist of a piston and a piston rod, which is the case for example of a differential actuating cylinder or a synchronous cylinder, or may consist only of a piston, which is the case for example of a plunger cylinder, or may have another design. If the piston unit comprises a piston and a piston rod, the piston and the piston rod have a fixed positional relationship with respect to each other. Preferably, the piston and the piston rod are rigidly connected to each other. In such a design, the piston and the piston rod are preferably connected in a materially connected manner (integral connection) by welding. The piston and the piston rod may also be removably connected. However, in special cases, it is also possible that the piston unit is designed as a single unit, and thus the piston and the piston rod are part of a single component.
[0019] In the assembled state, the cylinder tube and the closure parts form a cylinder interior according to the invention, and when the cylinder tube and the closure parts are joined together, their inner surface portions define the cylinder interior, which also extends to each of the laser ring weld seams.
[0020] Furthermore, in the working cylinder according to the invention, the piston unit forms at least one working chamber inside the cylinder. This chamber is defined by the cylinder tube, the closure part and the piston unit. The piston unit is arranged such that it can be displaced axially, the main longitudinal axis of the cylinder tube and the axial movement direction of the piston unit coincide. In this design, the piston unit preferably passes at least partially in a sliding and sealing manner through the first closure part. A pressure medium connection is assigned to the working cylinder, via which pressure medium can enter or be led from the working chamber, so that the working chamber can be pressurized. The pressure medium can be a hydraulic or pneumatic medium.
[0021] If the actuating cylinder according to the invention is designed, for example, as a differential actuating cylinder, the following furthermore applies. The piston of the piston unit is arranged inside the cylinder and separates the cylinder interior into a piston crown working chamber, hereinafter also abbreviated as piston crown chamber, and a piston rod working chamber. The piston crown chamber is located between the piston and a second closure part, here designed as a base closure part. The piston rod working chamber is located on the piston rod side, between the piston and a first closure part, here designed as a guide closure part. At least one of the working chambers is therefore a piston rod working chamber. Furthermore, the piston crown working chamber forms a further working chamber. The piston can be axially displaced and positioned within the cylinder such that the longitudinal axes of the piston and the cylinder tube overlap one another. Pressure medium connections are provided to the cylinder so that working pressure can be applied to the piston crown working chamber and to the piston rod working chamber. The piston may furthermore have various guides, sealings or piston rings.Various embodiments of pistons for working cylinders are known per se from the state of the art.
[0022] The actuating cylinder according to the invention is particularly characterized in that both closure parts, i.e. for example in the case of a differential actuating cylinder both the guide closure part and the base closure part, are welded to the cylinder tube.
[0023] In this case, the first closure part is joined to the cylinder tube by a first circumferential laser ring weld seam and the second closure part is joined to the cylinder tube by a second circumferential laser ring weld seam. Hereinafter, the components that are joined to one another are also referred to collectively as joining partners. The two closure parts are joined to the cylinder tube by laser welding. A laser ring weld seam is a fusion joint that is produced without the addition of filler metal.
[0024] Advantageously, laser welding produces a very narrow tapered weld seam. The acute angle formed by the lateral sides of the generally V-shaped laser weld seam is preferably less than 15 degrees, and in particularly preferred designs is less than 10 degrees.
[0025] Each of the two laser ring welded seams forms a fluid-tight sealing surface, which means that the first laser ring welded seam prevents pressure medium from passing through the connection point between the cylinder tube and the first closure part, and the second ring welded seam prevents pressure medium from passing between the cylinder tube and the second closure part, all this without the need for further sealing means such as a sealing ring.
[0026] The cylinder tube and the closure part, and preferably also the piston unit, are each made of a metal alloy, particularly preferably a steel alloy. However, the material composition of the individual components may differ slightly. Preferably, the mass proportion of the metal alloy components of the cylinder differs from the mass proportion of the closure part by less than 10 weight percent. The closure part and the cylinder tube therefore have similar physical properties and can be welded together particularly well. The steel alloys preferably used have a carbon content of less than 0.5 percent by weight. The alloying elements vanadium, chromium and manganese are preferably present in proportions of 0.01 percent to 2 percent by weight, either separately or together.
[0027] The working cylinder is further characterized in that a first circumferential sealing ring is arranged inside the cylinder between the first closure part and the cylinder tube inner wall at the first cylinder tube end at an axial distance from the first laser ring weld seam, said first circumferential sealing ring forming a first pressure-isolated annular portion, which is arranged between the first circumferential sealing ring and the first laser ring weld seam, and / or a second circumferential sealing ring is arranged inside the cylinder between the second closure part and the cylinder tube inner wall at the second cylinder tube end at an axial distance from the second laser ring weld seam, said second circumferential sealing ring forming a second pressure-isolated annular portion, which is arranged between the second circumferential sealing ring and the second laser ring weld seam.
[0028] That means, according to this further development, that a circumferential sealing ring is incorporated upstream of at least one of the laser ring weld seams. Preferably, the circumferential sealing ring is arranged upstream of both laser ring weld seams. In the following, the circumferential sealing ring is also referred to as an O-ring.
[0029] Inside the cylinder, an O-ring tightly separates the annular portion in front of each laser ring weld seam from the rest of the cylinder interior. Surprisingly, it was found that by forming the laser ring weld seam, the energy input per unit length can be set so low that the heat-sensitive O-ring is not damaged even in the immediate vicinity of the laser ring weld seam. In the immediate vicinity is understood to be an axial distance between the laser ring weld seam and the O-ring that is smaller than the cylinder tube inner diameter and in a particularly preferred design at most four times the cylinder tube wall thickness.
[0030] The O-ring creates a separation of the annular part from the working pressure of the pressure medium. The annular part is therefore the axial part of the cylinder tube immediately before and at the laser ring weld seam which is not subjected to the working pressure of the pressure medium from the inside and is therefore not subjected to buckling loads. In this way, radial loads on the laser ring weld seam, which would otherwise occur, are avoided at the same time in an advantageous manner by very simple means. Instead, only axial loads are applied. The axial loads are based on the working pressure of the pressure medium acting on the base area of the respective closure parts. Multiaxial loads on the laser ring weld seam and therefore multiaxial material stresses are therefore advantageously avoided.
[0031] At the same time, the upstream O-ring protects at least one working chamber or, depending on the type of working cylinder with O-rings on both sides, both working chambers from contamination: any emissions arising during laser welding or particles that may detach from the joining partners in the area of the laser weld seam are retained in the respective annular part by the O-ring before entering the working chamber.
[0032] The welded actuation cylinder according to the invention has a number of significant advantages over prior art actuation cylinders.
[0033] The first significant advantage is that the cylinder tube in particular requires little or no machining other than cutting to length. In particular, threads do not have to be cut or grooves turned. In the case of welded piston units, this advantage also applies to the piston rod.
[0034] This has the direct benefit that the amount of time, machinery, tooling costs and energy otherwise required for machining can be saved.
[0035] Furthermore, there is a dramatic material saving and therefore raw material resource conservation advantage because the cylinder tube need only have about half the tube wall thickness of the differential actuation cylinder into which it is screwed. For example, allowance can be removed in the tube wall thickness to compensate for material removal for cut threads.
[0036] By eliminating the machining of the cylinder tube, and preferably also the piston rod, the quality is also significantly increased. As a result of the elimination of the force input due to machining, the axial concentricity is no longer impaired. Rather, the starting axial concentricity of the cylinder tube, and if applicable also of the piston rod, is fully maintained. The working cylinder according to the invention therefore has a higher precision. Thus, the axial piston rod movement can also be performed without the problems of the piston rod buckling at the end stop, which are known in the prior art. At the same time, this reduces the wear of the cylinder guides in the guiding closure parts. By eliminating the machining of the cylinder tube, and if applicable the piston rod, a reduction in the load capacity due to the notch effect is also avoided.
[0037] Another advantage is the absolute tightness of the differential actuation cylinder at the connection point between the cylinder tube and the closure part. In this respect, it is further advantageous that tightness can be achieved without the use of seals, which would otherwise be required according to the current state of the art. The possible omission of these components, which are prone to ageing, leads not only to cost savings, but also to an increase in quality and service life. Furthermore, contamination due to ageing seals is eliminated.
[0038] A further advantage is the increased operational safety. Axial play between the cylinder tube and the closure part during load changes and loosening, if applicable to the thread, are eliminated. Furthermore, advantageously, savings are achieved by omitting otherwise necessary fastening elements. Finally, the otherwise necessary fastening of the actual fastening elements required for the detachable connection is also omitted. According to the prior art, such fastening is obtained, for example, by gluing the fastening elements. The omission of gluing leads to further important advantages. Firstly, the expenditure on very expensive thread locking adhesive is eliminated. Secondly, there is no need to clean the surface to ensure its adhesion to the thread locking adhesive, which, according to the current state of the art, often requires cleaning chemicals that are harmful to health. This eliminates the need for special measures to ensure health and environmental protection. Thirdly, the problem is overcome that the detachable connection, even when fixed by thread locking adhesive, may suffer the risk of loosening under shock loads.
[0039] Another aspect of improved operational safety is improved handling resistance: non-destructive interference inside the cylinder is eliminated, and possible sources of damage associated with improper opening or improper reassembly of the differential actuation cylinder by unskilled personnel are eliminated.
[0040] Furthermore, the working cylinder according to the invention has advantages in terms of production. In particular, it is possible to weld both closure parts, since, in comparison with the current state of the art, after welding no access to the cylinder interior is required any more. This is due to the fact that the laser welding process results in a localized heating of the material exclusively in the area of the laser ring weld seam. This means that components with heat-sensitive materials, such as seals in particular, which would be damaged by other welding methods, can still be welded at a distance of only a few millimeters to the planned weld seam. Furthermore, scale formation on the inner surface parts of the cylinder tube and the closure parts, especially in the vicinity of the weld seam, which would otherwise have to be removed with great effort according to the current state of the art, is avoided. Secondly, this is due to the fact that any material ejection from the area of the laser ring weld seam is retained by the upstream O-ring in the annular area.
[0041] Advantageously, the actuating cylinder according to the invention also makes it possible to weld both closure parts in one work step.
[0042] Another advantage is the reduction of thermal stresses in the mating partners of the welded joint, since in the case of laser welding a relatively small energy input per unit length (amount of energy related to the length of the weld seam) needs to be provided.
[0043] Another advantage is that the contour, weld seam depth and angle of the laser ring weld seam can be determined to a large extent by the movement, energy input per unit length and angle of the laser beam relative to the working cylinder to be produced. Thus, the contour and angle can be specifically adjusted by changing the position of the laser relative to the joining partner.
[0044] Furthermore, a particular advantage is the extremely long service life, since the upstream O-ring primarily protects the laser ring weld seam from dynamic radial loads resulting from the variable operating pressure of the pressure medium and therefore from multi-axial stresses. Under the same dimensioning circumstances, advantageously exclusively axial loads allow a significantly higher amount of load change and therefore a significantly longer service life.
[0045] In a first particularly preferred embodiment of the actuating cylinder according to the invention, the actuating cylinder is provided as a double-acting actuating cylinder and is designed as a differential actuating cylinder. In this embodiment, the first closure part is designed as a guide closure part and the second closure part is designed as a base closure part. Therefore, in this specification, the first cylinder tube end is referred to as a guide cylinder tube end and the second cylinder tube end is referred to as a base cylinder tube end. Thus, the first laser ring weld seam is arranged between the guide closure part and the guide cylinder tube end and the second laser ring weld seam is arranged between the base closure part and the base cylinder tube end.
[0046] In a differential actuating cylinder, the piston unit comprises a piston and a piston rod. Regarding the structure of a piston unit designed in this way, reference is made to the above description of the actuating cylinder.
[0047] The piston of the piston unit is arranged inside the cylinder and thus separates the cylinder interior into a piston crown working chamber, hereinafter also abbreviated as piston crown chamber, and a piston rod working chamber, hereinafter also abbreviated as piston rod chamber. The effective area of the piston in the piston crown chamber is larger on the piston crown side of the piston than on the piston rod chamber side of the piston. Therefore, for the same pressure of the pressure medium, a larger force acts on the piston on the piston crown side than on the piston rod side. The force acting on the piston is transmitted from the cylinder interior to the outside by the piston rod, which for this purpose slides through a guiding closure part.
[0048] In a second particularly preferred embodiment of the working cylinder according to the invention, the working cylinder is likewise provided as a double-acting working cylinder, but in this embodiment the working cylinder is designed as a synchronous cylinder.
[0049] In the synchronous cylinder according to this advantageous further development, as in the case of the differentially actuating cylinder, the first closure part is designed as a guide closure part. Furthermore, as a special feature, the second closure part is also designed as a further guide closure part. The guide closure part and the further guide closure part are hereinafter also jointly referred to as the guide closure part. Thus, the first laser ring welded seam is arranged between the guide closure part and the first cylinder tube end, and the second laser ring welded seam is arranged between the further guide closure part and the second cylinder tube end.
[0050] In this design, the piston unit also comprises a piston and a piston rod. The piston is arranged inside the cylinder and separates the cylinder interior into a first piston rod working chamber and a second piston rod working chamber. The piston rod thus projects axially on both sides over the piston and is guided from the piston interior on both sides through closure parts, both of which are provided here as guiding closure parts. The piston rod thus slidably passes through both guiding closure parts.
[0051] Both piston rod working chambers have the same cross section, therefore the piston has the same size effective surface for pressure medium on both sides. The forces acting on the piston and the length of the working stroke performed by the piston are identical in terms of pressure and volume, in each case the same, regardless of whether a certain pressure flow of pressure medium acts on the first or the second piston rod working chamber. Due to this identical behavior in both working directions, synchronous cylinders are often also used as steering cylinders and are therefore also called steering cylinders.
[0052] According to another further development, the actuating cylinder is designed as a plunger cylinder. This is a single-acting actuating cylinder.
[0053] According to this further development, the first closure part is designed as a guide closure part and the second closure part is designed as a base closure part. The first cylinder tube end is the guide cylinder tube end and the second cylinder tube end is the base cylinder tube end. Thus, as is the case for differential actuation cylinders, the first laser ring weld seam is arranged between the guide closure part and the guide cylinder tube end and thus the second laser ring weld seam is arranged between the base closure part and the base cylinder tube end.
[0054] The plunger-cylinder piston unit is formed by a plunger-piston. A plunger is placed inside the cylinder. Only one working chamber is formed inside the cylinder. The plunger-piston slides through a guiding closure part. When a pressure flow of pressure medium is applied to the working chamber, the plunger is displaced axially in response to the introduction of the pressure flow and performs an outward movement. The inward movement is caused by a force acting from the outside in the opposite direction.
[0055] According to another advantageous further development, the laser ring welded seam has a laser ring welded seam depth with a ratio to the cylinder tube wall thickness of 1.1 to 2.5.
[0056] If the laser ring weld does not pass perpendicularly through the cylinder tube wall, the laser ring weld seam depth exceeds the thickness of the cylinder tube wall, and the connection between the closure parts therefore has a higher stability, which is particularly advantageous, since the force transmission in the weld seam is distributed over a larger area and therefore optimized. This results in the further advantage that the tube wall thickness of the cylinder tube can even be reduced for special applications.
[0057] Moreover, according to this advantageous further development, it is also possible to make the laser ring weld seam depth exceed the cylinder tube wall thickness even with an approximately vertical alignment of the weld seam by introducing the laser ring weld seam deeper into the closure parts than the cylinder tube thickness. This results in a deeper weld seam root. Preferably, the laser ring weld depth is at least 1.2 times the cylinder tube thickness. Surprisingly, it was found that the structural changes in the closure parts thus induced increase the load-bearing capacity of the ring weld seam.
[0058] According to a further advantageous further development, the laser ring weld seam has an inclined laser ring weld seam centre axis.
[0059] According to the same advantageous further embodiment, the laser ring weld seam central axis and the main longitudinal axis of the cylinder tube have a laser ring weld inclination angle alpha, alpha being between 20 degrees and 70 degrees.
[0060] The laser ring weld seam central axis runs through the center of the laser ring weld seam and divides its cross section into equal parts. If the laser ring weld seam central axis runs through the center of the cylinder tube to the cylinder tube main longitudinal axis, the laser ring weld seam central axis and the main longitudinal axis form an angle. This angle is the laser ring weld seam inclination angle alpha.
[0061] The laser ring weld seam inclination angle alpha is between 20 degrees and 70 degrees, which produces a laser ring weld seam depth to cylinder tube wall thickness ratio of 1.1 to 2.5. The deeper laser ring weld seam depth and tilted ring weld seam center axis result in better distribution of force during loading due to the angle and application area of the attack force.
[0062] According to another advantageous further development, at least one of the laser ring weld seams is arranged axially on the front side, and the ring weld seam inclination angle alpha is 180 degrees.
[0063] The laser ring weld seam therefore has a cylindrical shape and is thus located radially between the cylinder tube and the respective closure part.
[0064] This further development has the particular advantage that the annular front part of the cylinder tube does not require any special machining. Rather, only the edge of the inner lateral face of the cylinder tube forms the contact surface for the respective closure part and thus the surface to be welded for the laser ring weld seam. Furthermore, the respective closure parts can be advantageously formed without radial steps. The outer diameter of the closure part only needs to correspond to the inner diameter of the cylinder tube, resulting in considerable material savings. Furthermore, little precision is required in defining the length of the cylinder tube, since the exact distance between the two closure parts can be precisely adjusted during joining.
[0065] According to another advantageous further development, the angle of inclination of the ring weld seam is 90 degrees. From the point of view of production, this further development has the advantage that the annular front surface formed by cutting the length of the cylinder tube can already be used as a contact surface for the respective closure part without any further work steps.
[0066] Generally speaking, the various advantageous further developments of the formation of the laser ring weld seam are not limited to a specific cylinder type. Moreover, various different designs of the laser ring weld seam can also be combined on one and the same working cylinder.
[0067] The invention is described in more detail by way of an exemplary embodiment with the aid of the accompanying drawings, in which: [Brief description of the drawings]

[0069] 1 shows an overview of an embodiment of an actuating cylinder 1 designed as a differential actuating cylinder. The differential actuating cylinder 1 comprises a cylinder tube 2, a first closure part 3, here designed as a guide closure part, a second closure part 4, here designed as a base closure part, and a piston unit 5. The piston unit consists of a piston 5a and a piston rod 5b. In this embodiment, the piston rod side fastening module 15 is arranged on the piston rod 5b and the base side fastening module 17 is arranged on the second closure part 4, which is designed as the base closure part. A fastening bolt 15a, 17a is assigned to each of the two fastening modules 15, 17. The fastening bolts 15, 17 are not an element of the invention and are shown merely for clarity. The piston unit 5 is arranged in the cylinder interior 8 with respect to the piston 5a a portion of the piston rod 5b which slides through a first closure part 3 which is designed as a guiding closure part. A first closure part 3, which is designed as a guide closure part, closes the cylinder tube 2 at a first cylinder tube end 6, which here is the guide cylinder tube end, and a second closure part 4, which is designed as a base closure part, closes a second cylinder tube end 7, which here is the base cylinder tube end. In this embodiment, the two closure parts 3, 4 are designed with a cylindrical part that protrudes partially and precisely into the cylinder tube. Laser ring weld seams 9, 10 run along the contact surface, with a first laser ring weld seam 9 joining the first closure part 3 to the first cylinder tube end 6 and a second laser ring weld seam 10 joining the second closure part 4 to the second cylinder tube end 7. Each of the laser ring weld seams 9, 10 forms a fluid-tight sealing surface. Furthermore, a circumferential sealing ring 21 is arranged axially in front of the first laser ring weld seam 9 in the direction of the cylinder center in an annular groove (without reference number) of the first closure part 3. From the axial point of view, an annular part 22, here the first annular part, is located between the sealing ring 21 and the laser ring weld seam 9. The main longitudinal axis 14 of the cylinder tube 2 runs centrally and longitudinally through the working cylinder 1 .
[0070] FIG. 2 shows an enlarged detail of the area of the first laser ring weld seam 9. Here, the circumferential sealing ring 21 is shown in particular in its positional relationship to the cylinder tube 2, the first closure part 3 and the first laser ring weld seam 9. The circumferential sealing ring 21 is inserted into the circumferential outer ring groove of the first closure part 3. It seals the area up to the first laser ring weld seam 9 in a pressure-tight manner against the remaining part of the cylinder interior 8. The vertically drawn arrows symbolize the force of the pressure medium acting radially from the inside on the cylinder tube 2, the annular part 22 being excluded from this radial force action due to the pressure-tight separation brought about by the circumferential sealing ring 21.
[0071] FIG. 3 shows an enlargement of the area of the first cylinder tube end 6. As in FIG. 2, this is the leading cylinder tube end. Here, the geometrical relationship of the first circumferential laser ring weld seam 9 is particularly shown. During welding, the first circumferential laser ring weld seam 9 is produced by the laser along the ring weld seam central axis 13. This first weld seam extends along the contact surface between the first cylinder tube end 6 and the first closure part 3. For this, the preassembled and temporarily fixed preassembly group consisting of the cylinder tube 2, the first closure part 3, the second closure part 4, the piston unit 5 and the two fastening modules 15, 17 is preferably rotated around the main longitudinal axis of the cylinder tube 14 in front of the laser inclined at the ring weld seam inclination angle alpha. A ring weld seam central axis 13 runs centrally through the first circumferential laser ring weld seam 9 and, in its extension, includes the ring weld seam inclination angle alpha with the main longitudinal axis of the cylinder tube 14. The ring weld seam depth 11 is the length of the ring weld seam central axis 13 that runs into the actual laser ring weld seam 9. Due to the angulation, the ring weld seam depth 11 exceeds the cylinder tube wall thickness 12. The ring weld seam depth corresponds to the hypotenuse of the right triangle formed by the ring weld seam, the cylinder tube wall thickness 12 and the perpendicular line. The figure also shows the first fastening module weld seam 16 between the piston rod side fastening module 15 and the piston rod 5b. This weld seam is produced by the same laser welding method applied for the first circumferential laser ring weld seam 9. Furthermore, the plain bearing of the piston rod 5b in the first closure part 3, which is designed as a guiding closure part, is also shown with the guide 20 and the seal 19.
[0072] 4 depicts an enlarged view of a laser welded seam, the first laser welded seam 9 between the first cylinder tube end 2 and the first closure part 3, which is an exemplary laser welded seam according to the present invention. The first laser weld seam 9 has a ring weld seam depth 11 and a ring weld seam center axis 13. In this embodiment, the ring weld seam depth 11 is greater than the cylinder tube wall thickness 12. The laser weld seam has a slight conicity. If two tangents are drawn to the edge contour of the laser weld seam, they meet and form the ring weld seam angle beta. The ring weld seam central axis 13 is at the same time a bisector of the ring weld seam angle beta and, together with the longitudinal main axis 14, contains the ring weld seam inclination angle alpha. Furthermore, the ring weld seam central axis 13 runs along the contact surface between the first cylinder tube end 6 and the first closure part 3. In this embodiment, the ring weld seam inclination angle alpha is 90 degrees.
[0073] FIG. 5 shows an embodiment of an actuating cylinder designed as a plunger actuating cylinder. Here, a piston unit 5 designed as a plunger piston is guided in a cylinder tube 2. Furthermore, the piston unit 5 is guided in a first closure part 3 designed as a guide closure part. The plunger cylinder is provided for this with a guide 20. The guide closure part is connected to the cylinder tube 2 at its first cylinder tube end 6 by a first laser ring weld seam 9. Opposite to the guide closure part, a second closure part 4, here designed as a base closure part, is connected to the cylinder tube 2 at its second cylinder tube end 7 by a second laser ring weld seam 10. In this embodiment, the two laser ring weld seams 9, 10 have a ring weld seam inclination angle of 90 degrees. The reference numbers and descriptions given in FIG. 1 for the differential actuation cylinder further apply.
[0074] The plunger actuation cylinder in the embodiment according to Fig. 5 also comprises in the first closure part 3 a further first circumferential sealing ring 21. This further sealing ring 21, also called O-ring, is arranged radially between the cylinder tube 2 and the first closure part 3 and provides a pressure-tight seal, which pressure-tightly separates the second circumferential laser ring welded seam 10 from the pressure medium.
[0075] FIG. 6 shows the area of the sealing ring 21 (O-ring) in the first closure part 3 of FIG. 5 in an enlarged view. The sealing ring 21 (O-ring) is shown here in more detail and is positioned spatially close to the first circumferential laser ring weld seam 9. In this embodiment, the sealing ring 21 (O-ring) is made of an elastic polymer. The heat input during laser welding remains low enough to avoid damage to the sealing ring 21 (O-ring) despite its close proximity to the first laser ring weld seam 9. From the axial point of view, between the sealing ring 21 (O-ring) and the first laser ring weld seam 9 there is a pressure-isolated annular portion 22. In this pressure-isolated annular portion 22 the working pressure of the pressure medium is not applied inside the cylinder tube, so that in this area the pressure medium forces do not act radially on the cylinder tube 2. The cylinder tube 2 is therefore not subjected to buckling forces in this area and the first laser ring weld seam 9 is released. In this design, the ring weld seam central axis 13 runs perpendicular to the main longitudinal axis 14 of the working cylinder 1 .
[0076] FIG. 7 is a schematic diagram of a detail of an embodiment in which the second circumferential laser ring weld seam 10 runs parallel to the main longitudinal axis. The second closure part 4, which is here designed as a base closure part, is radially surrounded by the second cylinder tube 2. In this embodiment, the second closure part 4 and the annular surface of the cylinder tube 2 form a common front surface. However, it is also possible for one of the connecting partners to protrude axially or to be recessed with respect to the other connecting partner. The ring weld seam central axis 13 does not intersect with the main longitudinal axis 14. The ring weld seam inclination angle alpha is 0 degrees. The second circumferential sealing ring 23 forms an axial portion up to the weld root of the second laser ring weld seam 10, which axial portion is a second pressure-isolated annular portion 24. The second circumferential sealing ring 23 and the second pressure-isolated annular portion 24 are formed in the same way as the first circumferential sealing ring 21 and the first pressure-isolated annular portion 22, so that what is described there also applies here.
