Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to an oil-gelling agent and a cosmetic preparation containing the oil-gelling agent. [Background technology]

[0002] Oil gelling agents capable of gelling hydrophobic oils and silicone oils are widely used as materials for cosmetics and the like due to their ability to solidify oils. Well-known examples of such gelling agents include hydrocarbon polymers such as polyethylene wax, long-chain fatty acids, and long-chain alcohols. In addition, as an oil gelling agent with a distinctive structure that is often used in cosmetics, a sugar skeleton-based agent in which some of the hydroxyl groups have been acylated is known (Patent Document 1).

[0003] Many of these oil gelling agents use hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonds (or dipole-dipole interactions) to form a gel. Therefore, gelling agents with strong hydrophobic interactions may have difficulty gelling hydrophobic oils, and conversely, gelling agents with strong hydrogen bonding properties may have difficulty gelling oils with hydrogen bonding properties. In light of this, there is a demand for gelling agents that can gel a variety of oils.

[0004] A gelling agent based on an acrylic polymer is known that allows adjustment of hydrophobicity and hydrogen bonding property by adjusting the ratio of constituent monomers (Patent Document 2). However, there is room for improvement in terms of the diversity of oils that can be gelled. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

Effect of the Invention

[0009] By using the oil gelling agent of the present invention, it is possible to gel a variety of oil agents such as hydrocarbon oils and higher alcohols. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0010] The present invention will be described in detail below. The oil gelling agent of the present invention is obtained by copolymerizing a specific (a) amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomer and a specific (b) hydrophilic (meth)acrylic monomer, and is a copolymer containing the above monomers as constituent units. 1 The terms used in multiple formulas such as are independent of each other.

[0011] [(a) Amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomer] The (a) amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomer is a (meth)acrylic monomer represented by the following general formula (1), and may be used alone or in combination of two or more kinds. [ka] (In the formula, R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 2 is a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 21 carbon atoms.

[0012] R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 2R is a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 21 carbon atoms. 2 From the viewpoint of hydrophobic interaction, the alkyl group is preferably an alkyl group having 11 to 21 carbon atoms, and more preferably an alkyl group having 15 to 21 carbon atoms.

[0013] [Method for synthesizing amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomers] The above amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomer can be obtained by reacting glycidyl methacrylate or glycidyl acrylate with a fatty acid. From the viewpoint of reaction rate, it is preferable to carry out the reaction using a catalyst. Examples of the catalyst used include quaternary alkyl ammonium salts such as tetrabutylammonium bromide. In addition, from the viewpoint of uniformly mixing the reaction substrate and the catalyst, it is preferable to carry out the reaction in a solvent, and examples of the solvent used include aprotic polar solvents such as dimethylacetamide, dimethylformamide, and acetonitrile, and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents such as toluene. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of increasing the purity of the product, it is preferable to wash with water after the reaction.

[0014] The amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomer represented by the formula (1) is represented by the following formula (1'): [ka] (In the formula, R 1 , R 2 is the same as above.) The compound may contain an amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomer represented by the following formula:

[0015] The content of the (1') is preferably 1 mole or less, more preferably 0.5 to 0 moles, and even more preferably substantially free of the (1') per mole of the amphiphilic (meth)acrylic monomer (1). Note that "substantially free of the" means that even if it is contained, it is below the detection limit.

[0016] [(b) Hydrophilic (meth)acrylic monomer] The (b) hydrophilic (meth)acrylic monomer is a hydrophilic (meth)acrylic monomer represented by the following general formula (2). [ka] (In the formula, R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 3 is a linear or branched alkylene group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms.

[0017] R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 3 R is a linear or branched alkylene group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms. 3 From the viewpoint of hydrophilicity, the carbon number of is preferably 2 to 5, and more preferably 2 to 3.

[0018] The mass ratio (b) / (a) of (a) to (b) is 0<[(b) / (a)]≦0.2, preferably 0.03≦[(b) / (a)]≦0.2, more preferably 0.05≦[(b) / (a)]≦0.20, further preferably 0.07≦[(b) / (a)]≦0.20, and particularly preferably 0.14≦[(b) / (a)]≦0.20. The above ratio provides a good ratio of hydrophobicity and hydrogen bonding property, and can gel a variety of oils.

[0019] [(c) Silicone macromer] The copolymer of the present invention can have a monomer made of a silicone macromer as a constituent unit. By grafting a silicone chain, the compatibility with silicone oil is improved, and the gelation of the silicone oil becomes more possible. As the silicone macromer, a (meth)acrylic modified silicone macromer represented by the following general formula (3) can be mentioned. [ka] (In the formula, R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 4 is a divalent organic group, R 5 are independently a group selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and an aryl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, and n is 1 to 100.

[0022] When the copolymer contains the (c) monomer as a structural unit, the amount of the (c) monomer in the total monomers is 35 to 50 mass%, and preferably 35 to 45 mass%. This ratio can improve the compatibility of the copolymer with silicone oil while maintaining the function as a gelling agent.

[0023] The copolymer of the present invention may be composed of only the above (a), (b), or (a) to (c), and further, the copolymer of the present invention may contain other monomers as long as the effect of the present invention is not impaired. When a monomer other than the above is contained as a constituent unit, the amount is preferably 0.05 to 5 mass% of the total monomers. When the (c) monomer is used, the total amount of the (a) monomer, the (b) monomer, and the (c) monomer is preferably 95 to 99.95 mass%, more preferably 97 to 99.93 mass%, and even more preferably 98.5 to 99.9 mass%, and the upper limit may be 100.0 mass%. In the present invention, "in the monomers" means "in the total monomers constituting the copolymer".

However, from the viewpoint of use as a cosmetic product, it is preferable to carry out the polymerization reaction without a solvent or to use ethanol or isopropanol. The copolymer may be any of random, block, and graft copolymers.

[0025] The number average molecular weight (Mn) of the polymer thus produced, calculated as polystyrene, as determined by GPC is preferably from 5,000 to 200,000, and more preferably from 7,500 to 80,000. 100,000 More preferably, the molecular weight is 10,000 to 50,000, and even more preferably 10,000 to 50,000. If the molecular weight is within the above range, the solubility in oils is better, and the function as a gelling agent can be maintained better. In the present invention, the number average molecular weight is a value obtained by GPC (gel permeation chromatography) analysis using polystyrene as a standard substance under the following conditions.
