DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] The card game equipment comprises multiple types of sub-cards (see Figure 13) that display different seasons, multiple types of basic cards (see Figure 7, etc.) that display at least seasons and plants, and a base (see Figure 15) that has sub-card frames into which the sub-cards are placed and multiple basic card frames into which the basic cards can be placed. When the season displayed on a sub-card placed in a sub-card frame of the base matches the season displayed on a basic card selected by a player, the basic card can be placed in the basic card frame of the base.Multiple players take turns drawing basic cards, and the player who has all of the basic cards placed in the basic card frames wins the game, and the ranking of the players is determined.
[0016] The sub-cards of the card game equipment include multiple types of first sub-cards (see Figure 13) that display different seasons and multiple types of second sub-cards (see Figure 14) that display different walking paths, and the base (see Figure 15) has sub-card frames, namely, a first sub-card frame in which the first sub-card is placed and a second sub-card frame in which the second sub-card is placed, and the basic cards (see Figure 7, etc.) further display walking paths, and when the season displayed on the first sub-card placed in the first sub-card frame of the base and the walking path displayed on the second sub-card placed in the second sub-card frame match the season and walking path displayed on the basic card selected by the player, the basic card can be placed in the basic card frame of the base.
[0017] The card game equipment further includes a die (173) having numbers from 1 to 6 printed on each side, and a plurality of basic card frames on the base are each numbered from 1 to 6. A player can place a basic card in a basic card frame when the number on the face of the die (173) matches the number printed on the basic card frame. A basic card can be placed in a basic card frame numbered 1 only if the number on the face of the die (173) is 1 when rolled, and a basic card cannot be placed in a basic card frame numbered other than 1 unless a basic card is already placed in a basic card frame numbered smaller than the number printed on the basic card frame.
[0018] The basic cards are called wildflower cards and have no front or back; the visible top side is used as the front in the game. The basic cards are divided into six groups, each representing a walking path, and each group is surrounded by six common color frames.
[0019] The first sub-cards are called season cards (140), and include the Spring Card (March-May) (141) for March to May, the Summer Card (June-August) (142) for June to August, the Autumn Card (September-November) (143) for September to November, and the Winter Card (December-February) (144) for December to February.
[0020] The second sub-card is called the Walking Path Card (150), and includes the Village Side Path Card (151), the Field Footpath Card (152), the Riverbank Embankment Path Card (153), the Field Footpath Card (154), the Street Corner Alley Card (155), and the Garden Path Card (156).
[0021] The base is called the Walking Base (160), and the sub-card slots are divided into two slots: the first sub-card slot is the Seasonal Card slot (161) and the second sub-card slot is the Walking Path Card slot (162). The basic card slots are for the outbound route, with six consecutive wildflower card slots from 1km to 6km, and for the return route, with six consecutive wildflower card slots from 7km to 12km.
[0022] Examples of wild plant cards that serve as basic cards include a list of wild plants for rural mountain side paths (10), a list of wild plants for rice paddy footpaths (20), a list of wild plants for riverbank embankments (30), a list of wild plants for field paths (40), a list of wild plants for street corner alleys (50), and a list of wild plants for garden paths (60). However, since wild plants that are the subject of this embodiment can be added, separate wild plant cards can also be prepared.
[0023] The game involves rolling dice (173) and lining up cards in the card slots, so the number of participants can be up to about 12, and the game can be played on both the outbound and return journeys. If it is just the outbound journey, there is almost no need to limit the number of participants, and the game can be played by people of all ages. [Example]
[0024] The wild plants in this game are those found in warm regions, and the game is structured so that each representative breeding area where they are relatively common is represented by a walking path; if the breeding area of a wild plant is large, it can also be represented as a card that spans multiple walking paths.
[0025] The wild plants in this game are based on current knowledge and may be updated in the future as their breeding ranges expand or contract, and new wild plant cards may also be added.
[0026] In this embodiment, the basic cards are made up of wild plants, but it is also possible to expand the range of cards by adding trees and showing periods of fresh greenery, flowering, fruiting, and leaf-shedding.
[0027] The list of wild plants found on Satoyama side paths (10) shown in Figure 1 is made up of 45 types of wild plants that can be found on Satoyama side paths and in vacant lots. The table is organized by flowering period / wild plant name (11), and three ecology categories: rosette (12), which is a flat leaf state seen mainly on biennial plants that survive winter, flowering period (13), and perennial leaves (14), which are mainly perennial plants with leaves that survive winter, and indicates which period of the 12 months the plant falls into.
[0028] The observation period for the rosette (12) is winter (December to February), and the observation period for the winter leaves (14) is autumn / winter (November to February), but these are periods set for the game and may differ slightly from the actual period. The term "winter leaves (14)" is also a coined term for this game.
[0029] The wild plant list for rice paddy ridges (20) shown in Figure 2 is made up of 45 types of wild plants that are mainly found on the ridges of rice paddies and farmland. The structure of the table is the same as that of the table mentioned above (0027).
[0030] The list of wild plants along riverbanks (30) shown in Figure 3 is made up of 45 species of wild plants that can be found on riverbeds and river banks. The structure of the list is the same as that of the list mentioned above (0027), but it does not include wild plants with winter leaves (14).
[0031] The wildflower list (40) shown in Figure 4 is made up of 45 types of wildflowers that can be seen when walking into the fields. The structure of the list is the same as that of (0027) above.
[0032] The list of wild plants in street corners and alleys (50) shown in Figure 5 is made up of 45 species of wild plants that are mainly found in residential hedges and vacant lots. The structure of the list is the same as that of the previous list (0027), but it does not include wild plants with winter leaves (14).
[0033] The wild plant list for garden paths (60) shown in Figure 6 is made up of 45 types of wild plants and vegetables that are popular in flower beds and approaches to homes. The structure of the table is the same as that of the table (0027).
[0034] The wildflower card (70) of the Satoyama side road in Figure 7 is taken from the list of wildflowers of the Satoyama side road (10). The wild plants selected are those that have a rosette (12), those that have perennial leaves (14), and those that show a flowering period (13). The wild plant cards (70) for the Satoyama side path are surrounded by a yellow frame (71) for identification purposes.
[0035] The top row of the example of the Satoyama Byway Wildflower Card (70) in Figure 7 has, on the left side, a picture or photograph of the Satoyama Byway Walking Path (72), the wildflower name of the plant, Gogyo (Cornflower), one of the seven herbs of spring (73), and the wildflower state, Rosette, Winter (December to February) (74), and on the right side, a picture or photograph of the Satoyama Byway Walking Path (75), Gogyo (Cornflower), one of the seven herbs of spring (76), and the flowering season, Spring / Summer (April to June) (77).
[0036] In the case of the Satoyama Byway Wildflower card (70) in Figure 7, the left side of which is the Common Columbine (Gogyo) and one of the Seven Herbs of Spring (73), the Rosette Winter (December-February) (74) is used when the season is winter during the game, and the right side is used when the season is spring or summer and the Flowering Spring / Summer (April-June) (77) is used. This combination of the left and right cards is the first of three types of card combinations, the Rosette (12) and Flowering Season (13) combination.
[0037] In the middle row of the example of the composition of the wildflower card (70) of the Satoyama side road in Figure 7, on the left side there is a cymbidium (78) with leaves that bloom in autumn and winter (November to February) (79), and on the right side there is a cymbidium (80) with flowers that bloom in spring (March to April) (81).
[0038] If the left side of the Satoyama Byway Wildflower card (70) in Figure 7 above is a Cymbidium orchid (78), then if the season during the game is autumn or winter, use the Autumn / Winter (November-February) (79) overwintering leaves, and if the season during the game is spring, use the Spring (March-April) (81) flowering season on the right side. This combination of the left and right side cards is the second of the three types of card combinations, the combination of overwintering leaves (14) and flowering season (13).
[0039] In the example of the composition of the wildflower card (70) for a Satoyama side road in Figure 7, the bottom row has primrose (82) on the left side, flowering in spring (April to May) (83), and primrose (84) on the right side, flowering in spring (April to May) (85).
[0040] If the left side of the Satoyama Byway Wildflower card (70) in Figure 7 above shows a Primrose (82), then when the season is spring during the game, use Spring Flowering (April-May) (83), and on the right side, the only difference is the picture or photo, but when the season is spring, use Spring Flowering (April-May) (85). This combination of the left and right cards is the third of the three types of card combinations, the Flowering (13) / Flowering (13) combination.
[0041] The wildflower card (90) for the field and rice paddy path in Figure 8 is selected from the list of wildflowers for the field and rice paddy path (20) and is surrounded by a green frame (91) for identification.
[0042] The wildflower card (90) for the paddy field footpath in Figure 8, Plantain (93), is the first of the three types mentioned above (see 0036), and both the right and left sides feature the walking path, paddy field footpath (92), and the wildflower name Plantain (93). On the left side, the wildflower is in rosette form in winter (December to February) (94), and on the right side, the flowering season is in spring, summer, and autumn (April to September) (95). The other two examples are the red spider lily, the second of the three card types (see 0038), and the third of the three card types (see 0040), the day lily.
[0043] The riverbank embankment wildflower card (100) in Figure 9 is selected from the riverbank embankment wildflower list (30) and includes the two types of wildflowers mentioned above, excluding those with biennial leaves (14). The riverbank embankment wildflower card (100) is surrounded by a blue frame (101) for identification purposes.
[0044] The Japanese silver grass in the example of the riverbank path wildflower card (100) in Figure 9 is the third of the three types mentioned above (see 0040), and the left and right sides have different pictures and photographs, but they share the same name: Riverbank path walking path (102), Japanese silver grass, Seven Autumn Herbs (103), and flowering season: Summer / Autumn (July to October) (104). Another example is the first of the three types (see 0036), the common name: Massonium columbine.
[0045] The field path wildflower card (110) in Figure 10 is selected from the field path wildflower list (40) and has the three types of wildflowers mentioned above, and the field path wildflower card (110) is surrounded by a red frame (111) for identification.
[0046] The example of the wildflower card (110) for the field path in Figure 10, Lactuca sativa (113), is the first of the three types mentioned above (see 0036). Both the right and left sides feature the walking path (112) and the wildflower name Lactuca sativa (113). On the left side, the wildflower is in rosette form in winter (December to February) (114), and on the right side, the flowering season is summer to autumn (August to November) (115). The other two examples are Daylily (see 0038), the second of the three types of card combinations, and Green Foxtail (see 0040), the third.
[0047] The wildflower card (120) in Figure 11 is selected from the wildflower list (50) for the two types of wildflowers mentioned above, excluding wildflowers with biennial leaves (14). The wildflower card (120) is surrounded by a gray frame (121) for identification purposes.
[0048] The example of the wildflower card (120) for street corner alleys in Figure 11, Cyperus persica (123), is the third of the three types mentioned above (see 0040), and the left and right sides have different pictures and photographs, but they share the same street corner alley of a walking path (122), the name of the wildflower (Cyperus persica) (123), and the flowering season (summer / autumn, August to October) (124). Another example is the common persimmon, the first of the three types (see 0036).
[0049] The garden path wildflower card (130) in Figure 12 shows three types of wildflowers selected from the garden path wildflower list (60), and the garden path wildflower card (130) is surrounded by a white frame (131) for identification.
[0050] The example of the garden path wildflower card (130) in Figure 12, Calanthe (133), is the second of the three types mentioned above (see 0038), and both the right and left sides feature the garden path (132) and wildflower name Calanthe (133), with the left side showing winter leaves in autumn and winter (November to February) (134) and the right side showing flowers in spring (April to May) (135), a combination of winter leaves (14) and flowers (13). The other two examples are the first of three card combinations (see 0036) of the seven herbs of spring, Daikon radish (Suzushiro), and the third of three card combinations (see 0040).
[0051] The seasonal cards (140) in Figure 13 are spring cards (March to May) (141), summer cards (June to August) (142), autumn cards (September to November) (143), and winter cards (December to February) (144), and multiple sets of four types of cards are prepared.
[0052] The walking path cards (150) in Figure 14 are a rural mountain side path card (151), a rice field furrow card (152), a river bank path card (153), a field path card (154), a street corner alley card (155), and a garden path card (156), and multiple sets of six types of cards are prepared.
[0053] When there are a large number of players, the season cards (140) and walking path cards (150) can be prepared by copying the cards.
[0054] The walking base (160) in Figure 15 is composed of a season card frame (161) for placing season cards (140), a walking path card frame (162) for placing walking path cards (150), and six frames in a row for placing wildflower cards according to distance.
[0055] The outward journey of the walking base (160) in Figure 15 uses the upper level, and the boxes for placing the wildflower cards mentioned above correspond to the number 1 on the dice (173) shown in the game flow (170) and the number 1 (1 km) (163) of the wildflower card box, then the number 2 corresponds to the number 2 (2 km) (164) of the box, and the number 3 corresponds to the number 3 (3 km) (165) of the box, and when the number on the dice (173) is 6, the number 6 (6 km) of the outward journey goal (166) is reached.
[0056] For the return journey of the walking base (160) in Figure 15, the lower row is used, and the wildflower card is placed in the frame where the number 1 on the dice (173) corresponds to the number 1 (7 km) (167) of the wildflower card frame, and the number 2 corresponds to the number 2 (8 km) (168) of the frame, and when the number on the dice (173) is 6, the return journey goal of frame 6 (12 km) (169) is reached.
[0057] The game flow (170) in Figure 16 is an example of how to play. In the first step of the game preparation (171), check the wildflower cards. Each group must collect 45 Satoyama Byway Wildflower Cards (70) in the yellow frame (71), 45 Rice Field Footpath Wildflower Cards (90) in the green frame (91), 45 Riverbank Path Wildflower Cards (100) in the blue frame (101), 45 Field Path Wildflower Cards (110) in the red frame (111), 45 Street Corner Alley Wildflower Cards (120) in the gray frame (121), and 45 Garden Path Wildflower Cards (130) in the white frame (131).
[0058] Cut the wildflower cards into piles according to the color of each frame. There is no need to distinguish between front and back, and you can cut them without worrying about the top and bottom.
[0059] The second item in the game preparation (171) in Figure 16 is to check the season cards (140). Prepare the spring cards (March to May) (141), summer cards (June to August) (142), autumn cards (September to November) (143), and winter cards (December to February) (144) so that they are evenly distributed, and if possible, prepare a multiple of four types of cards that is greater than the number of players. Then, shuffle them and place them face down.
[0060] Item 3 of the game preparation (171) in Figure 16 is to check the Walking Path cards (150). Prepare the Satoyama Byway Cards (151), Rice Field Footpath Cards (152), Riverbank Embankment Cards (153), Field Path Cards (154), Street Corner Alley Cards (155), and Garden Path Cards (156) in a balanced manner, preferably in a multiple of six types of cards greater than the number of players, and shuffle them well and place them face down.
[0061] Item 4 of the game preparation (171) in FIG. 16 is the preparation of the walking base (160), and each player takes one walking base (160) and places it in front of them.
[0062] Item 5 of the game preparation (171) in Figure 16 is to check the dice (173). Commercially available dice (173) with numbers 1 to 6 are fine.
[0063] In item 6 of Figure 16, Game Preparation (171), decide whether the game will be a 6km one-way course or a 12km round trip course. This can be determined based on the time and number of people.
[0064] In item 7 of game preparation (171) in FIG. 16, the first player of the game is decided by rock-paper-scissors or dice, and the order of turns is also decided.
[0065] The game flowchart (172) in Figure 16 begins with the player drawing one of four types of season cards (140) and six types of walking path cards (150) placed face down, placing the card on the walking base (160), and deciding the season and walking path.
[0066] The player then rolls the dice (173) and if the rolled number is 1, they choose the walking path and compare it with the season (month) on the front of the wildflower card for the same walking path. If there is a match for any month (season), they take the wildflower card and place it on the top row 1 (1km) (163) of the walking base (160).
[0067] If the month (season) of the wild plant card does not match, the wild plant card cannot be taken. In that case, you are given two options:
[0068] The first way to deal with this is to check the back of the wild plant card, and if the wild plant card has no relation to the month (season) on either the front or back, leave it in the pile.
[0069] The second way to deal with this is to check the back of the wildflower card. Even if the season on the front is irrelevant, if the season on the back matches the player's season card (140), the player can place the card with the back side facing up near the pile, and it will be possible to retrieve it in the next turn.
[0070] From the second turn onwards, you can see which season (month) the other players will be walking in, so you can interfere by playing outside of that season. Conversely, other players may steal cards you have placed near the pile.
[0071] If the roll is between 2 and 6, it does not match the walking base (160) of 1 (1 km), so the turn passes to the next player.
[0072] From the second round onwards, the game progresses by checking whether the cards match or do not match, including the wildflower cards placed near the mountain by other players.
[0073] If the player rolls a dice (173) and the result is a 2, and there is a wildflower card with the matching season (month), place the wildflower card on the Walking Base (160) in slot 2 (2km) (164). After that, place wildflower cards on the right side of the dice (173) and the top row of the Walking Base (160) in slots 3, 4, and 5.
[0074] If the player rolls a 6 on the dice (173) and there is a wildflower card with the matching season (month), the player places the wildflower card at the 6 (6km) outward goal (166) on the walking base (160), completing one way.
[0075] To continue the game, including the return trip, use the bottom row of the Walk Base (160). The player then rolls the dice (173). If the roll is a 1, the player chooses the walking path and compares it with the season (month) on the front of the wildflower card for the same walking path. If there is a match for any month (season), take the wildflower card and place it on the bottom row of the Walk Base (160) at 1 (7km) (167).
[0076] The game is played in the same way as the outbound journey described above. If the dice (173) shows a 2, place the wildflower card on the 2 (8km) of the walking base (160).
[0077] Place the wildflower card on the bottom row of the Walking Base (160) towards the left frame, and if the player rolls a 6 on the dice (173) and there is a wildflower card with the matching season (month), place the wildflower card at the 6 (12km) return goal (169) on the Walking Base (160), and you have completed both the outbound and return journeys.
[0078] When one player reaches the finish line, the distance walked by the other players is the ranking. For fairness, the game ends when the player who reached the finish line has completed their rounds.
[0079] According to the present invention, it is possible to understand the names, breeding areas, characteristics, etc. of wild plants that catch one's eye while walking or that one sees or hears about, such as the seven herbs of spring or the seven herbs of autumn.
[0080] In this game, wild plants include those whose stems harden and become woody plants, such as the bush clover, one of the seven autumn herbs.
[0081] This game can be played by one person, but can also be played by two or more people, and can be played as an individual or team game.
[0082] The information that can be written on the cards can include elements from an illustrated guide, such as the wild plant's English name, related species, characteristics, and rarity, or it can also expand knowledge by including the Ministry of the Environment's designation of invasive species requiring caution.
