AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Insulating coatings composed of multiple materials can segregate and adhere unevenly to soft magnetic powder, leading to unstable magnetic properties and product quality.
Method used
A method for producing a powder for dust cores with an insulating coating made of uniformly mixed insulating materials, ensuring a coefficient of variation (CV) of carbon content is 0.015 or less, achieved by controlled mixing and drying processes.
Benefits of technology
Uniform dispersion of insulating materials results in stable magnetic properties and improved productivity of non-defective products.

Abstract
To provide powder for a dust core that becomes stable magnetic properties, in which several kinds of insulating materials are uniformly dispersed and an insulating coating is formed, a manufacturing method for the same, and an evaluation method for the mixed state of the insulating coating.SOLUTION: The powder for a dust core includes a soft magnetic powder and an insulating coating that coats the periphery of the soft magnetic powder and consists of a plurality of insulating materials mixed together. When the amount of carbon in the insulating coating collected from a plurality of locations, at least one from the top of a mixing vessel and at least one from the bottom of the mixing vessel, is denoted by X, and the standard deviation is denoted by σ, a variation coefficient CV value of the standard deviation σ divided by the mean value X is less than or equal to 0.015 after mixing the soft magnetic powder and the insulating material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
