Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[0009] The vehicle seat according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described by a seat ST which is an example. For convenience of explanation, each direction of up and down, left and right, front and back is defined as the direction indicated by the arrow in FIG. 1.
[0010] First, an outline of the configuration of the seat ST will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 which are perspective views. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the seat ST seen from the upper left front obliquely. FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the seat ST seen from the upper left rear obliquely.
[0011] As shown in FIG. 1, the seat ST is a vehicle seat mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile, and has a seat cushion ST1, a seat back ST2, and a headrest ST3. The seat cushion ST1 is slidably supported in the front-rear direction by a pair of rails 91, 91 laid on the floor 92 of the vehicle so as to extend in the front-rear direction and be spaced apart parallel to the left and right.
[0012] The seat back ST2 is reclinably connected to the rear end portion of the seat cushion ST1. Inside the seat back ST2, a frame-like frame ST2a serving as a skeleton, a sponge-like pad 52 covering the frame ST2a, and a blower unit FA are arranged. The pad 52 and the blower unit FA are covered with a trim 8 which is an outer skin formed of a synthetic resin sheet or the like. At least a portion of the trim 8 corresponding to the blower unit FA in the front side portion of the seat back ST2 is air-permeable.
[0013] The blower unit FA is mounted inside the frame-shaped frame ST2a, embedded in the pad 52. Details of the mounting structure of the blower unit FA will be described later.
[0014] As shown in Figure 2, the trim 8 has a sutured portion 83 that connects the upper trim 81 and the lower trim 82 by stitching, located slightly above the rear surface of the seat back ST2. The upper trim 81 is positioned to cover the upper and rear surfaces of the seat back ST2. The lower trim 82 is positioned to cover the lower rear surface. At the seam 83, the lower end of the upper trim 81 and the upper end of the lower trim 82 are connected by a suture. The seam 83 is visible from the outside as a suture line that extends roughly in a straight line in the left-right direction.
[0015] Next, the blower unit FA will be explained with reference to Figures 3 to 5. Figure 3 is a perspective view of the blower unit FA seen from the upper left front, Figure 4 is a rear view of the blower unit FA, and Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view at position S5-S5 in Figure 3.
[0016] The blower unit FA comprises a base 1 and a fan F. The type of fan F is, for example, a sirocco fan. As shown in Figures 3 and 5, the fan F has multiple blades F2 arranged circumferentially around the axis CLF. The blades F2 in Figure 3 are schematically shown.
[0017] The base 1 has a rectangular box-shaped base portion 1a that is thin in the front and rear and open at the rear when viewed from the rear, and a flange portion 1b that extends to the left from the front surface of the base portion 1a and a flange portion 1c that extends to the right. The base portion 1a has a circular suction projection 11 that protrudes forward on its front surface. The suction projection 11 has a plurality of suction openings 11a that are formed radially in a fan shape with respect to the axis CLF of the fan F.
[0018] The base portion 1a has a wire locking portion 2W including a first wire locking portion 21, a second wire locking portion 22, and a third wire locking portion. The first wire locking portion 21 has a first locking claw 21a that protrudes downward from the lower surface of the base portion 1a and protrudes rearward from its tip. The second wire locking portion 22 and the third wire locking portion 23 are formed to protrude upward from the upper end of the front surface of the base portion 1a, spaced apart to the left and right. The second wire locking portion 22 and the third wire locking portion 23 are each formed in a hook shape with a second locking claw 22a and a third locking claw 23a that protrude rearward at their respective tips. The second wire locking section 22 and the third wire locking section 23 are installed on the left and right sides, respectively, of the fan F's axis CLF in the left-right direction.
[0019] The base portion 1a has harness locking portions 41, 42 and trim locking portion 2T on its upper surface. The harness locking portions 41 and 42 are formed to protrude in an L-shape above and in front of the base portion 1a.
[0020] The trim locking portion 2T is formed projecting upward at the center in the left-right direction on the rear edge of the upper surface of the base portion 1a. The trim locking portion 2T is formed in a hook shape with a locking flange 2Ta extending forward from its tip.
[0021] As shown in Figure 3, the fan F has a thin, rectangular housing F1 in the front-to-back direction (see dashed line). From the four sides of the rear edge of the housing F1, flanges F1a protrude outward from each side, as shown in Figure 5. As shown in Figure 4, the flange portion F1a and the base portion 1a are fixed together with fasteners N1 such as tapping screws, and the fan F is attached to the base 1.
[0022] As shown in Figure 4, a wire harness F3 extends from the rear of fan F. A connector F4 is attached to the end of the wire harness F3. The wire harness F3 extends from the rear of the fan F and is secured to harness locking parts 41 and 42, and the connector F4 at its tip is held in place by a locking part (not shown) on the flange 1c. A plug 93, which is electrically connected to the power supply unit on the vehicle side, is inserted into the connector F4 (see arrow DR1), and power is supplied to the fan F.
[0023] In Figure 5, a rectangular exhaust opening (not shown) is formed on the side of the housing F1 of the fan F. When the fan F operates, air is drawn in through the front intake opening 11a and discharged through the side exhaust opening.
[0024] Next, with reference to Figures 6 to 8, the shape of the upper part of the pad 52, where the blower unit FA is attached, will be described. Figure 6 is a rear view of the upper part of the pad 52 in the seat back ST2, and Figure 7 is a cross-sectional view at position S7-S7 in Figure 6. Figure 8 shows the insert wire 3 inserted into the pad 52, with Figure 8(a) being a front view and Figure 8(b) being a left side view.
[0025] The pad 52 is made of an elastic, sponge-like material and is elastically deformable when compressed. The pad 52 includes an upper pad 521 that constitutes the upper part of the seat back ST2, and a left side pad 522 and a right side pad 523 that constitute the left and right sides of the seat back ST2, respectively, and are smoothly connected to the upper pad 521 with approximately the same thickness. The central area, enclosed by the upper pad 521, the left side pad 522, and the right side pad 523, is a first recessed area called the center pad portion 524, which is recessed as if its rear surface is gouged out forward, and a lower center pad portion 525 below it. The lower center pad portion 525 is slightly shallower in depth than the center pad portion 524.
[0026] The center pad portion 524 has ventilation holes 526 that penetrate in the front-to-back direction. The position of the ventilation holes 526 is, for example, slightly above the center in the vertical direction of the pad 52 as a whole. The shape of the ventilation holes 526 is, for example, circular, but is not limited to circular. The ventilation holes 526 are formed in a size and shape that allows them to view as wide an area as possible from the multiple suction openings 11a of the blower unit FA.
[0027] The center pad portion 524 has an upper recess 527 on the upper side of the ventilation hole 526 and a lower recess 528 on the lower side, as a second recess adjacent to the ventilation hole 526. The upper recess 527 is formed to have a long rectangle shape when viewed from the rear. The lower recess 528 is shorter in the left-right direction than the upper recess 527, and is formed so that its lower side overlaps the center lower pad portion 525.
[0028] The pad 52 has an insert wire 3 that is insert-molded to span the center pad portion 524 and the lower center pad portion 525, and surround the ventilation hole 526. As shown in Figures 8(a) and 8(b), the insert wire 3 is formed in a discontinuous frame shape using a metal spring wire such as stainless steel. More specifically, the insert wire 3 has an upper left wire section 311, an upper wire section 32, a right wire section 33, a lower wire section 34, and a lower left wire section 312.
[0029] The upper wire section 32 is the part that extends straight to the left and right, and the right wire section 33 is the part that bends 90° from the right end of the upper wire section 32 and extends straight downward. The lower wire section 34 has a right-downward inclined section 343, a lower central wire section 341, and a left-downward inclined section 342. The right-downward sloping portion 343 is the part that extends diagonally backward and to the left from the lower end of the right wire portion 33. The lower central wire section 341 is the part that extends straight to the left from the left end of the lower right inclined section 343, parallel to the upper wire section 32. The lower left inclined portion 342 is a part that extends diagonally forward and to the upper left from the left end of the lower central wire portion 341, and its left end is located directly below the left end of the upper wire portion 32. The lower left wire section 312 is the portion that extends upward from the left end of the lower left inclined section 342, and the upper left wire section 311 is the portion that extends downward from the left end of the upper wire section 32 along the same straight line as the lower left wire section 312. The area between the upper left wire section 311 and the lower left wire section 312 is a discontinuous section 31a.
[0030] In the natural state of the insert wire 3, distance L3 is defined as the vertical distance between the upper end position of the outer circumferential surface of the upper wire portion 32 and the lower end position of the outer circumferential surface of the lower central wire portion 341 in the lower wire portion 34. Distance L3 is slightly larger than the internal distance L2W (see Figures 4 and 5) between the second locking claws 22a and third locking claws 23a of the second wire locking portion 22 and third wire locking portion 23, respectively, in the blower unit FA.
[0031] As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the insert wire 3 is insert-molded such that the upper wire portion 32 is exposed in the upper recess 527 and the lower central wire portion 341 is exposed in the lower recess 528. That is, the insert wire 3 is integrally provided in the pad 52 such that at least a portion is exposed and the other portion is embedded. In the insert wire 3, the portion exposed in the upper recess 527 is designated as the second locking portion 32a, and the portion exposed in the lower recess 528 is designated as the first locking portion 341a. More specifically, the insert wire 3 is exposed in the upper recess 527 except for the left and right ends of the upper wire portion 32, while the lower central wire portion 341 of the lower wire portion 344, the right end of the left lower inclined portion 342, and the left end of the right lower inclined portion 343 are exposed in the lower recess 528. The insert wire 3 is integrally installed so that the parts other than these exposed portions are embedded in the center pad portion 524 and the center lower pad portion 525 of the pad 52.
[0032] As shown in Figure 9, the blower unit FA can be attached to the pad 52 by an operator hooking the wire locking part 2W onto the portion of the insert wire 3 that is exposed to the outside. Specifically, the worker hooks the upper wire portion 32 of the insert wire 3, which is exposed in the upper recess 527, onto the second locking claws 22a and third locking claws 23a, respectively, of the second wire locking portion 22 and third wire locking portion 23 of the wire locking portion 2W. Next, the worker presses the first locking claw 21a of the first wire locking part 21 against the lower central wire portion 341 of the insert wire 3 exposed in the lower recess 528, causing the lower central wire portion 341 to elastically deform downwards and overcome the first wire locking part 21, thereby hooking it onto the first locking claw 21a.
[0033] Thus, the first wire locking portion 21 functions as the lower wire support portion P1 of the wire support portion that supports the blower unit FA by the insert wire 3, and the second wire locking portion 22 and the third wire locking portion function as the upper first wire support portion P2 and the upper second wire support portion P3, respectively.
[0034] With the blower unit FA supported by the insert wire 3 at the lower wire support portion P1, the upper first wire support portion P2, and the upper second wire support portion P3, the base portion 1a of the blower unit FA is configured to push forward and compress the center pad portion 524 of the pad 52.
[0035] The insert wire 3 is itself springy and elastically deformable to a certain extent, and is embedded in the pad 52 which has compressive elasticity. Therefore, it is easy for an operator to elastically deform the insert wire 3 to expand its frame shape and lock it into the wire locking portion 2W. Furthermore, the insert wire 3 is formed in a discontinuous frame shape with a discontinuous portion 31a and a portion missing, making it easier to twist and deform than if it were formed in a continuous, closed frame shape. This makes it easier to secure the insert wire 3 to the wire locking portion 2W.
[0036] In this manner, with the insert wire 3 locked to the wire locking portion 2W, the base portion 1a of the blower unit FA is pushed backward by the elastic rebound force against compression from the center pad portion 524. Furthermore, as previously described, the insert wire 3 is formed such that the distance L3 (see Figure 8) is slightly greater than the distance L2W (see Figures 5 and 6) of the wire locking portion 2W. Therefore, the insert wire 3 is locked so as to bite forward and downward against the first locking claw 21a, and so as to bite forward and upward against the second locking claw 22a and the third locking claw 23a. This ensures that the blower unit FA is stably held on the pad 52.
[0037] Furthermore, the blower unit FA may be connected to the trim 8 by a hook portion 84. Figure 10 is a perspective view showing the hook portion 84 attached to the suture portion 83 of the trim 8. More specifically, the hook portion 84 is sewn in overlapping stitches 83a at the seam portion 83 on the rear side of the seat back ST2, with the stitches extending inward towards the seat back ST2. The hook portion 84 is made by folding a sheet material, such as a cloth, in half so as to sandwich a pin 85 which is a metal wire, and has a notch 84a in the center of the folded portion. The folded and joined ends are secured to the suture section 83 by overlapping stitches. The central part of the pin 85 is exposed in the notched portion 84a as a locking portion 85b, and both ends 85a of the pin 85 are shaped to prevent them from coming out of the hook portion 84.
[0038] As shown in Figure 11, the suture portion 83 is at approximately the same height in the vertical direction as the upper part of the base 1a of the blower unit FA attached to the pad 52. When connecting the trim 8 to the blower unit FA, the worker engages the locking portion 85b of the pin 85, which is exposed in the notch 84a of the hook portion 84, with the trim locking portion 2T of the blower unit FA attached to the pad 52. More specifically, the worker engages the locking portion 85b with the trim locking portion 2T by moving it over the locking flange 2Ta as shown by arrow DR2. Thus, the trim locking portion 2T functions as a trim support portion PT that the blower unit FA is supported by the trim 8.
[0039] The upper trim 81 and lower trim 82 are connected at the suture 83 in a naturally taut state. Therefore, the hook portion 84 is engaged with the trim locking portion 2T by moving the suture 83 forward with a certain amount of force. In other words, the blower unit FA to which the hook portion 84 is attached is always subjected to a force pulling it backward. As a result, force is applied to the wire locking portion 2W of the blower unit FA so that the insert wire 3 bites in more firmly, thus increasing the holding force of the blower unit FA at the pad 52.
[0040] Figure 12 is a schematic diagram illustrating the mounting structure TK of the air blower unit FA on the seat back ST2 of the seat ST, as shown in Figure 11 and other figures. As shown in Figure 12, the blower unit FA is attached to the pad 52 so as to be pulled in the front-rear direction, supported from the front by an insert wire 3 provided on the pad 52 and supported from the rear by a hook portion 84 provided on the trim 8. As a result, the seat ST, which is a vehicle seat, has the air blower unit FA stably held in place by the seat back ST2. In addition, the seat ST suppresses the movement of the air blower unit FA when an unexpected external force is applied to it in the front-to-back direction.
[0041] The blower unit FA is mounted so that its entirety is housed in the center pad portion 524, which is a first recess formed on the rear side of the pad 52. Therefore, the blower unit FA does not protrude rearward from the pad 52. As a result, the seat ST does not increase the thickness of the seat back ST2 and is less likely to interfere with the rear occupant. In addition, the seat ST is less likely to cause damage or malfunction to the air blower unit FA due to collisions with luggage or other items loaded in the rear.
[0042] The distance D2 (see Figure 4), which is the outer distance between the second wire locking portion 22 and the third wire locking portion 23 of the wire locking portion 2W in the blower unit FA, should be set to be approximately the same as or slightly larger than the width D527 (see Figure 6), which is the width of the upper recess 527 of the pad 52 in the left-right direction. As a result, the left-right position of the air blower unit FA attached to the pad 52 is restricted by the left and right walls of the upper recess 527, so the position of the air blower unit FA can be determined with precision. In addition, the seat ST effectively restricts the movement of the air blower unit FA when an unexpected external force is applied to it.
[0043] The blower unit FA is held in place by the pad 52 by locking it with the insert wire 3, and is further connected via the trim 8 and the hook portion 84. This allows the seat ST to be held in a more stable posture and position without increasing the thickness of the seat back ST2, and makes it less susceptible to displacement due to external forces applied to the blower unit FA.
[0044] The present invention is not limited to the embodiments and procedures described above, and can be modified in various ways without departing from the spirit of the invention.
[0045] The type of fan F in the blower unit FA is not limited to a sirocco fan. The vertical mounting position of the air blower unit FA in the seatback ST2 is not limited to the upper part as described above, but may also be at the lower part. Similarly, the horizontal mounting position is not limited to the center, but may be off to either the left or right. The blower unit FA may also be attached to the seat back ST2 by first connecting the trim 8 and then securing it to the insert wire 3. The seat ST may have a seat back ST2 that has multiple blower units FA attached by a mounting structure TK. [Explanation of Symbols]
