Phosphor composition containing borate and aluminosilicate, method of its production and use in a white light source

Abstract

The subject of the application is a phosphor composition containing at least two phosphors: a) a borate with the molecular formula LiSr4(BO3)3:xEu2+, wherein x is from 0.1% to 15% mol. with respect to the molar content of the Sr2+ ion; and b) an aluminosilicate with the molecular formula Mg2A14Si5O18:xEu2+, wherein x is from 0.1% to 10% mol. with respect to the molar content of the Mg2+ ion, wherein the weight fraction of the borate in the mixture is from 40% to 95% by weight, and the aluminosilicate is from 5% to 60% by weight. The subject of the application also is a method for producing a phosphor composition and its use as an optically active element in a white light source.
