Abstract

Wooden dams with animal crossings for retaining water on watercourses that tend to overflow during the rainy season and dry up during the dry season. The placement of the dam timbers (4), (5), (6) is made so that they are embedded in the slope (1), (2) of the riverbed at the required length of 1.2 m, where, together with the vertical uprights (3), they ensure the stability of the dam. The created reservoirs (9) in the timbers (4), (5) of the dam help to extend the life of the timber and the passage of animals. During the rainy season, the dams ensure the capture of storm water and during the dry season, they gradually release the retained water into the forest landscape. The created reservoirs with water also ensure a longer life of the timber. Wooden dams with animal crossings are designed for each type of riverbed separately, which guarantees their proper functioning and long life.
