Abstract
A vertically oriented screw (3) takes up material at the bottom of the reactor (1), the material is then at least partially compressed by the rotating screw (3) to form a gas-tight plug and is moved downwards through the vertical transfer channel (2). The reactor (1) has a rotary agitator (5), the axis of rotation of which is coincident with the axis of rotation of the screw (3), preferably the agitator (5) and the screw (3) are mounted on a common shaft assembly (6). If the agitator (5) rotates in the first direction, it mixes the mass inside the reactor (1), if it rotates in the second direction, it directs the material into the inlet mouth of the transfer channel (2), while the screw (3) moves the material downwards in the transfer channel (2). The reactor (1) includes a vertically oriented transfer channel (2), inside of which there is a rotating screw (3). The inlet of the transfer channel (2) is at the bottom of the reactor (1), with the upper end of the screw (3) at the inlet of the transfer channel (2) or above the inlet of the transfer channel (2). The transfer channel (2) may be provided with a valve (4) at its bottom.
