Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a portable stain removal device for locally removing a stain from a textile.
[0002] Soiled textiles such as garments, bed or table linens, curtains and other manufactured textile products are typically washed in a washing machine or by hand. The cleaning fluid used is usually water with a cleaning additive in the form of a detergent or a chemical cleaning substance. Detergents contain mixtures of various washing-active substances in liquid, gel or powder form which are suitable for cleaning textiles. In addition, household cleaning additives such as vinegar, curd soap, natron, soda and citric acid are used. Chemical cleaning substances include hydrogen peroxide and sodium percarbonate. The composition and temperature of the cleaning fluid is adapted to the textile to be washed and the degree and type of soiling. Washing machines are used in households and in the cleaning industry. Washing with a washing machine has the advantage that several textiles can be washed at the same time, cleaning is not done by hand, cleaning fluids can be used, which can be harmful to a user's health, and cleaning of textiles is usually very thorough. A disadvantage is that the entire textile must be subjected to the washing process, even if a stain to be removed is only in a small part of the textile. Furthermore, washing machines usually have a certain size, so they can not be easily transported and, in particular, placed in small apartments. In addition, washing machines have a relatively high consumption of water and electricity. Washing with a washing machine is therefore usually only worthwhile if several textiles are to be washed. Washing with a washing machine is unsuitable for a single garment. When washing by hand, individual textiles can indeed be cleaned with a small amount of water, cleaning additives and energy in a wash basin or in a washing container. However, washing by hand has the disadvantages that the cleaning is often not thorough enough, the user comes into contact with the cleaning additives and washing is elaborate and time-consuming.
[0003] In addition, individual stains in a textile can be removed using a steam brush. Steam brushes are equipped with a handgrip, a brush, a heating device and a container for a cleaning fluid. The cleaning fluid is evaporated by the heating device. This cleaning fluid steam is released through a nozzle onto the textile to be cleaned. The cleaning fluid can be water or a mixture of water and a cleaning additive. To apply the steam cleaning fluid, the steam brush must be held by hand at a certain distance from the textile. This allows the cleaning fluid to be applied specifically to a soiled part of the textile. A disadvantage is that although steam brushes are suitable for applying a cleaning fluid to a textile, the cleaning fluid either remains on the textile after application or must be washed out by a user by hand in a basin or wash container. Cleaning the stained material is elaborate and time-consuming for the user, because no automatic cleaning and rinsing of the stained area is possible. Another disadvantage is that the cleaning fluid not absorbed by the textile is not automatically collected and can therefore drip uncontrollably onto the floor or another surface. In addition, for heat-sensitive textiles, there is a requirement not to exceed a certain temperature and dosage of a cleaning fluid, which cannot be easily guaranteed with a steam brush. Finally, the user may come into contact with heated cleaning fluids, which can lead to injury.
[0004] It is an object of the invention to provide a portable stain removal device which cleans and rinses only the stained area of a textile, wherein the cleaning process is automatic without the need for hand washing by a user, and wherein the cleaning fluid is automatically collected after the washing process.
[0005] This problem is solved by a portable stain removal device for locally removing a stain from a textile with the features of claim 1. The stain removal device has a holding device which receives an area of the textile which is stained. The holding device comprises a lower part and an upper part movably arranged on the lower part. In a closed position of the holding device, the upper part rests against the lower part. In an open position, the upper part is moved relative to the lower part to such an extent that a textile arranged on the lower part can be removed from the holding device. A storage container is arranged on the holding device, which holds a cleaning fluid for the cleaning process. The cleaning fluid can be warm or cold water or steam. Depending on the material of the textile and the type of stain, a cleaning additive such as detergent may be mixed into the water. The term cleaning fluid therefore covers any fluid suitable for cleaning a textile, in particular water and mixtures of water and cleaning additives. A quantity of cleaning fluid suitable for the washing process is placed in the storage container. A receiving container is arranged on the holding device, in which the cleaning fluid used for the cleaning process of the textile is collected. The holding device is connected to the storage container and the receiving container in such a way that a cleaning fluid contained in the storage container is supplied to the holding device and applied to an area of the textile arranged in the holding device. Finally, the cleaning fluid emitted by the area of the textile is collected in the holding container. This ensures that only the area of the textile located in the holding device is cleaned. Outside this area, the textile does not come into contact with the cleaning fluid. This allows a single textile to be cleaned specifically and exclusively in the stained area. The amount of cleaning fluid required for the cleaning process is accordingly low. The stain removal device can therefore be small and handy. It is suitable to be placed in small flats and to be carried along when travelling.
[0006] If water without cleaning additives is used as the cleaning fluid, additional rinsing of the cleaning fluid is not necessary. If, on the other hand, a mixture of water and cleaning additives is used as the cleaning fluid, this cleaning fluid can be rinsed out after the cleaning process. Water is added to the storage container for a suitable rinsing process. Alternatively, a separate area of the storage container may be provided for a rinsing fluid intended for the rinsing process, or an additional rinsing container may be arranged on the stain removal device. The water placed in the stain removal device for the rinsing process may be passed over the area of the textile arranged in the holding device in exactly the same way as the cleaning fluid and is then collected in the receiving container. The term cleaning process in the following includes the application of the cleaning fluid and the subsequent rinsing, if rinsing is necessary and desired after cleaning.
[0007] Advantageously, the storage container is detachably arranged on the holding device so that it can be removed from the holding device for filling. After filling the storage container, it is pushed back into the holding device, plugged in or placed on it. Alternatively, the storage container may be permanently arranged on the holding device. A cover can be provided to close the storage container.
[0008] The same applies to the receiving container. The receiving container is advantageously arranged detachably on the holding device. In particular, it can be pushed into the holding device, attached to the holding device or placed on the holding device. In this case, the receiving container can be removed from the holding device for emptying. The cleaning fluid collected in the receiving container after the cleaning process and, if applicable, after the rinsing process can be poured out of the receiving container, for example. Alternatively, the receiving container can have a drain that allows the cleaning fluid to be drained off, if suitable through a hose.
[0009] The holding device is connected to the storage container and to the receiving container in a fluid-conducting manner in such a way that a cleaning fluid contained in the storage container is applied to an area of the textile arranged in the holding device and that the cleaning fluid is thereafter collected in the receiving container. In this case, the storage container and the receiving container can be arranged on the holding device in such a way that the cleaning fluid flows from the storage container to the receiving container due to gravity. For this purpose, the storage container must be located above the receiving container. Alternatively, the stain removal device may be equipped with a pump that delivers the cleaning fluid from the storage container to the receiving container, wherein the cleaning fluid is applied to the stained area of the textile. The pump may be equipped with a controlling device that turns the pump on and off in response to a predetermined sequence of a cleaning procedure. Further, the flow rate and the amount of cleaning fluid delivered by the pump can be regulated. The holding device can be equipped with one or more spray nozzles, via which the cleaning fluid conveyed by the pump is applied to the area of the textile as a spray application.
[0010] Advantageously, the storage container is connected to the receiving container through liquid-conducting lines, in particular hoses or pipes. Alternatively, the storage container can be connected to the holding device and to the receiving container through openings in the walls of the storage container and the receiving container, whereby additional lines are not necessary.
[0011] As the stained area of the textile is arranged in the holding device and the cleaning fluid is thereby applied to the stained area of the textile in a targeted manner, it is not necessary for a user to hold the textile during the cleaning process. The cleaning fluid is automatically applied to the textile without the user's assistance. Moreover the cleaning fluid is collected after the cleaning process. The same applies to a rinsing process, if this is necessary. The user does not come into contact with the cleaning fluid during the cleaning process. This prevents skin irritation.
[0012] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the upper part of the holding device is rotatably arranged on the lower part. A rotary movement of the upper part relative to the lower part opens and closes the holding device. In addition to simple rotary movements for opening and closing the holding device about a rotary axis, combined rotary, pivoting, tilting and sliding movements may also be provided, optionally about a plurality of rotary axes and rotary points, for opening and closing the holding device. Typically, the holding device is equipped with corresponding joints or hinges.
[0013] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is provided with a washing container which receives cleaning fluid supplied from the storage container and at least the stained portion of the textile. The washing container is arranged on the holding device, so that the portion of the textile arranged in the holding device is at least partially immersed in the washing container and thereby receives the cleaning fluid. The washing container allows the cleaning fluid contained in the storage container to be divided between a cleaning process and a rinsing process. In this way, the area of the textile located in the holding device can first be cleaned with cleaning fluid and finally rinsed. For this purpose, a first amount of the cleaning fluid is fed from the storage container into the washing container and, after the cleaning process, is fed into the holding container. After that, a second amount of the cleaning fluid is filled into the washing container for rinsing, if necessary, and is fed into the receiving container after the rinsing process has been completed. For this purpose, the washing container can be specifically filled with cleaning additives for the cleaning process. In addition, the washing container can be equipped with a brush that supports the cleaning process.
[0014] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the washing container is arranged in the lower part of the holding device. Advantageously, the upper part comprises a top for the washing container.
[0015] According to a further advantageous embodiment, the washing container is connected to the storage container with a cleaning fluid supply conduit or cleaning fluid supply line. The cleaning fluid supply line is formed as a liquid- carrying line. It may, for example, be at least one hose or a pipe.
[0016] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, a first shut- off member or valve for shutting off or controlling the flow of the cleaning fluid is arranged at the cleaning fluid supply line. This valve is used to control the flow of the cleaning fluid from the storage container into the washing container.
[0017] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a heating device which heats the cleaning fluid. In this case, the heating device may be arranged on the storage container and heat the cleaning fluid accommodated in the storage container. Alternatively, the heating device can be arranged on the washing container and heat the cleaning fluid accommodated in the washing container. Another alternative is that the heating device is arranged on the cleaning fluid supply line that connects the storage container to the washing container. In this case, the heating device can be designed as a continuous flow heater.
[0018] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with at least one spray nozzle, via which the cleaning fluid is applied to the area of the textile as a spray application. The cleaning fluid can be distributed on the textile via the spray nozzle. Furthermore, a small amount of cleaning fluid can be applied to the textile via the spray nozzle. The spray nozzle can also be used to apply water to the textile for rinsing.
[0019] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the spray nozzle is coupled to the cleaning fluid supply line and is located at the outlet of the cleaning fluid supply line. The cleaning fluid is preferably supplied to the spray nozzle via the pump.
[0020] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is provided with a cleaning additive container which accommodates a cleaning additive for the cleaning fluid. The cleaning additive container may be arranged in or on the storage container. Alternatively, the cleaning additive container may be arranged in or on the washing container. Another alternative is that the cleaning additive container is arranged on the cleaning fluid supply line that connects the storage container to the washing container. Depending on where the cleaning additive container is located, the cleaning additive is already mixed with the rest of the cleaning fluid in the storage container, in the washing container or in the cleaning fluid supply line. If the cleaning additive container is located on the cleaning fluid supply line, the cleaning additive container is connected to the cleaning fluid supply line in a fluid-conducting manner. In this case, the cleaning fluid flows from the storage container into the cleaning additive container and mixes there with the cleaning additive. The cleaning fluid containing the cleaning additive then flows into the washing container or is applied to the textile via the spray nozzle. One part of the cleaning fluid, which does not contain any cleaning additive and is present, for example, as clear water, can initially remain in the storage container and be used for a rinsing process that follows the cleaning.
[0021] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the washing container is connected to the receiving container by a cleaning fluid discharge line, a cleaning fluid discharge conduit or cleaning fluid drain. The cleaning fluid discharge is in the form of a fluid-carrying conduit. It may, for example, be at least one hose or a pipe.
[0022] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, a second shut-off member or valve is arranged at the cleaning fluid discharge line for shutting off or controlling the flow of the cleaning fluid. Through this second valve, the discharge of the cleaning fluid from the washing container into the receiving container is controlled.
[0023] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a pump which delivers the cleaning fluid from the storage container into the washing container and from the washing container into the receiving container. This pump can be controlled by a controlling device. The controlling device may be connected to the valves.
[0024] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a brush which is movable relative to the holding device. The movement of the brush relative to the holding device and thus to a textile arranged on the holding device can be carried out manually. Alternatively, the movement of the brush can be carried out with a drive, in particular with a motor.
[0025] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the brush acts together with a pressure-plate spring-mounted on the holding device in such a way that, in a initial brush position, the pressure-plate is in an initial plate position and is unloaded by the brush, and that, in a brush cleaning position, the brush presses against the pressure-plate and thereby presses the pressure-plate against a spring force into a plate cleaning position. In the open position of the holding device, the brush is in the initial brush position and the plate is in the initial plate position, so that the textile to be cleaned can be inserted with the stained area into the holding device and between the brush and the pressure-plate. In the brush cleaning position, the stained area is pressed against the pressure-plate by the brush. If the brush is now moved back and forth parallel to the plate, the brush rubs against the surface of the textile. Thereby, particles adhering to the surface of the textile can be loosened. This supports the cleaning process.
[0026] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the brush is movable in a first direction during transition from the initial brush position to the brush cleaning position. During the transition from the brush cleaning position to the initial brush position, the brush is movable in the opposite direction.
[0027] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the brush is movable in the brush cleaning position in a second direction essentially orthogonal to the first direction. In this case, the brush is moved back and forth parallel to the pressure-plate.
[0028] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the brush is arranged on the upper part of the holding device and that the pressure-plate is arranged on the lower part of the holding device.
[0029] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the pressure-plate is arranged in the washing container. In this case, the brush dips into the washing container in the brush cleaning position. For example, the pressure-plate may be supported on a bottom of the washing container by a spiral or helical spring. Preferably, the washing container is in the form of a cylinder. In this case, the plate may be adapted to the cylindrical shape and substantially conform to the internal cross-section of the wash container.
[0030] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the brush is equipped with a brush holder which has an edge projecting laterally beyond bristles of the brush. Advantageously, the brush holder rests on an edge of the washing container in a brush cleaning position. This avoids cleaning fluid flowing out of the washing container when the brush is moved relative to the washing container.
[0031] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a drive which moves the brush.
[0032] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the at least one spray nozzle is arranged on the brush. For example, the spray nozzle can be arranged between the bristles of the brush.
[0033] According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a fan or a ventilator which generates an air flow through the area of the textile received in the holding device. This allows the textile to be dried after the cleaning process. Optionally, the air can be heated, which aids the drying process. For this purpose, the holding device is equipped with openings that allow air to flow in and out.
[0034] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the holding device is provided with a supporting surface for the textile, which is provided with passage openings for the air flow generated by the ventilator.
[0035] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the support surface protrudes laterally over the washing container. In this way, the cleaning process is not affected by the support surface.
[0036] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a steam generating device. The steam is directed over the cleaned textile in order to smooth it after the cleaning process.
[0037] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a control device. This can control the pump, the valves, the heating device and the ventilator. In this way, a complete predetermined cleaning program can run automatically.
[0038] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with an input device used by a user to select the cleaning program desired.
[0039] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cleaning additive container is designed to hold a capsule or a cartridge containing the cleaning additive.
[0040] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stain removal device is equipped with a reading device which detects a machine- readable code and controls the control device as a function of this code. For example, the reading device can be integrated into the cleaning additive container. The cleaning additive can be filled into a capsule that is equipped with the code. In this way, capsules with different cleaning additives and associated codes can be specified for certain cleaning programs. The user selects the desired cleaning program by inserting the corresponding capsule into the cleaning additive container. The code can be a barcode or a QR code, for example.
[0041] The method for locally removing a stain from a textile with the portable stain removal device comprises the following method steps:
[0042] filling a first portion or first partial quantity of a cleaning fluid into the storage container,
[0043] depositing the textile in the stain removal device in such a way that the stained area of the textile is received in the holding device,
[0044] removing the first portion of the cleaning fluid from the storage container and rinsing the stained area of the textile with this first portion of the cleaning fluid,
[0045] receiving the first portion of the cleaning fluid in the receiving container,
[0046] removing a second portion or second partial quantity of the cleaning fluid from the storage container,
[0047] adding a cleaning additive to this second portion,
[0048] applying the mixture of the second portion of the cleaning fluid and the cleaning additive to the stained area of the textile,
[0049] receiving the second portion of the cleaning fluid with the cleaning additive in the receiving container,
[0050] removing a third portion or third partial quantity of the cleaning fluid from the reservoir and
[0051] rinsing the stained area of the textile with the third portion of the cleaning fluid, receiving the third portion of the cleaning fluid in the receiving container.
[0052] The sum of the first portion, the second portion and the third portion of cleaning fluid is less than or equal to the quantity of cleaning fluid that is filled into the storage container at the start of the process. The first portion of cleaning fluid is used to moisten the textile. The second portion of the cleaning fluid is mixed with the cleaning additive. This mixture is used to remove dirt and impurities from the textile. The third portion of the cleaning fluid is used to rinse the cleaning additive out of the textile.
[0053] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention a fourth portion of the cleaning fluid is taken from the storage container and the stained area is rinsed a second time with the fourth portion of the cleaning fluid after cleaning. After the second rinse, the fourth portion is released to the receiving container and collected by it.
[0054] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention the cleaned area of the textile is dried after cleaning and rinsing by means of an air flow generated by the fan or ventilator.
[0055] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention the cleaned area of the textile is smoothed after drying by means of a steam generating device.

[0067] FIGS. 1 to 9 show various views of a portable stain removal device 1. The stain removal device comprises a holding device 2 with a lower part 3 and an upper part 4 which is rotatably arranged on the lower part 3. The upper part 4 comprises a star-shaped handle 5 and a switch 6 with which the stain removal device 1 can be switched on and off. A storage container 7 for a cleaning fluid, a receiving container 8 for soiled cleaning fluid and a cleaning additive container 9 are arranged in the lower part 3. The storage container 7 can be pulled out of the stain removal device 1 in order to fill it with cleaning fluid, for example water. The receiving container 8 can also be pulled out of the stain removal device 1 and removed from it in order to pour out soiled cleaning fluid. The cleaning additive container 9 can be pulled out of the stain removal device to insert a cartridge 10 with cleaning additive.
[0068] The stain removal device 1 comprises a washing container 11 and a support surface 12 surrounding the washing container 11. The support surface is formed by the surface of a support plate 13, which is provided with first passage openings 14. The washing container 11 and the support plate 13 are made of one piece. The support plate 13 extends laterally outwards from the upper edge of the washing container 11. When the stain removal device 1 is placed on a horizontally aligned base, the support plate 13 is also horizontally aligned. The support plate 13 and the washing container 11 are arranged on the lower part 3 of the holding device 2. They cover the lower part at the top.
[0069] FIGS. 4 and 5 show the lower part 3 of the stain removal device 1. The lower part 3 is equipped with a compartment 29 for the receiving container 8 and a compartment 31 for the storage container 7. The compartment 29 has an opening 30. The opening of the compartment 31 for the storage container is not visible in FIGS. 4 and 5, as it is located on the side of the lower part 3 facing away from the viewer. The compartment 29 and the compartment 31 make it easier to insert the storage container 7 and the receiving container 8 into the lower part 3 and to pull them out of the lower part. They also ensure exact positioning of the storage container 7 and the receiving container 8 in the lower part 3 and prevent the storage container 7 and the receiving container 8 from shifting in an undesirable manner in the lower part 3. This applies in particular when the stain removal device 1 is moved.
[0070] FIG. 5 shows that the storage container 7, the receiving container 8, the cleaning additive container 9, a pump 15, a heating device 16, a cleaning fluid supply line 17, a cleaning fluid discharge line 18, a fan 19, a controlling device 33 and a housing 20 for a barcode reader are arranged below the storage plate 13 and the washing container 11. The cleaning fluid is sucked in from the storage container 7 via the pump 15. The cleaning fluid is supplied either directly via the cleaning fluid supply line 17 to the upper part 4 of the holding device not shown in FIG. 5 or to the cleaning additive container 9. In the cleaning additive container 9 the cleaning fluid is mixed with a cleaning additive and fed to the upper part 4 via the cleaning fluid supply line 17. There is also a cleaning fluid supply line in the upper part 4, which is not shown in FIG. 5. When the holding device 2 is closed and the upper part 4 rests on the lower part 3, the cleaning fluid flows from above into the washing container. The cleaning fluid flowing through the cleaning fluid supply line can be heated via the heating device 16. The cleaning fluid is drained from the washing container via the cleaning fluid discharge line 18 and fed to the receiving container 8.
[0071] The fan 19 comprises an impeller 21 which is rotatably arranged at the bottom of the lower part 3 and a motor, which is not visible in the drawing, which drives the impeller to rotate. The bottom of the lower part 3 has second passage openings 22. Via these second passage openings 22, the fan 19 draws in air from the surroundings of the stain removal device 1 and conveys it past the storage container, the receiving container, the washing container and the other components arranged in the lower part 3 in the direction of the support plate 13. The air is forced outwards through the first passage openings 14. A textile lying on the support plate 13 is dried in this way.
[0072] FIGS. 6 and 7 show the stain removal device 1 with a textile 23. In this case, the textile 23 is a T-shirt. In FIG. 6, the holding device 2 is in the open position. The upper part 4 is tilted upwards. In this open position, the textile 23 can be placed on the support plate 13. The textile 23 is aligned on the support plate 13 in such a way that a stain 24 to be removed is located above the washing container 11. In the open position of the holding device 2, the washing container is covered by a pressure-plate 25. This can be seen in FIG. 3. When the textile 23 is aligned with the stain 24 above the washing container and the pressure-plate 25, the holding device 2 is closed. The closed position of the holding device 2 with the sections of the textile 23 projecting outwards is shown in FIG. 7.
[0073] FIGS. 8 and 9 show the cleaning process. A brush 26 with a brush holder 27 is mounted on the upper part 4 not shown in FIGS. 8 and 9. When the holding device 2 is in the closed position, the brush 26 arranged on the upper part 4 presses the pressure-plate 25 downwards. The pressure-plate 25 is slidably arranged on the washing container 11. It is supported by a coil spring 28 on a base of the washing container 10. When the brush 26 presses against the pressure plate 25 from above, the coil spring 28 is compressed. The coil spring 28 presses the pressure plate 25 upwardly against the brush 26. When a textile 23 is in the stain removal device 1, the portion of the textile 23 disposed above the wash container 11 is held between the brush 26 and the pressure plate 25. The brush 26 is lowered into the wash container 11 to such an extent that the area of the textile 23 held between the brush 26 and the pressure plate 25 is reliably immersed in the cleaning fluid filled into the washing container 11. The lower edge of the brush holder 27 can rest on the storage plate 13 or at most be a short distance from the storage plate 13. The cleaning fluid supply line 17 shown in FIG. 5 is continued in the upper part 4 and opens into the brush 26, from where the cleaning fluid flows into the washing container 11. The cleaning fluid flows through the area of the textile 23 that is located between the brush 26 and the washing container plate 25.
[0074] Spray nozzles 32 are arranged next to or between the bristles of the brush 26 in the brush holder 27. The cleaning fluid supplied to the upper part 4 via the cleaning fluid supply line 17 is dispensed and distributed onto the textile as fine droplets via the spray nozzles 32. The spray nozzles 32 represent a cross-sectional constriction at the outlet of the cleaning fluid supply line 17.
[0075] During lowering, the brush 26 is moved in a first direction in order to guide the brush from a brush initial position to a brush cleaning position. The first direction extends vertically. This movement of the brush 26 serves to immerse the section of the textile 23 to be cleaned in the washing container 11. FIG. 8 shows the brush 26 during the transition from the brush initial position to the brush cleaning position. FIG. 9 shows the brush 26 in the brush cleaning position. In addition, the brush moves in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The second direction extends horizontally. This movement serves to move the brush back and forth in the brush cleaning position in order to loosen the dirt in the textile from the textile. The brush 26 is moved back and forth parallel to the pressure plate 25. Alternatively, it can also be circular movements. By moving the brush 26 parallel to the pressure plate 25, dirt particles can be loosened from the textile 23 more easily. The cleaning process is supported.
[0076] The cleaning of the textile is done in the following way:
[0077] The storage container 10 is filled with 11 of water. A cartridge 10 filled with a cleaning additive suitable for the textile 23 to be cleaned and the stain 24 is placed in the cleaning additive container 9. The cartridge 10 has a barcode. The textile 23 to be cleaned is placed on the deposit plate 13 so that the stain 24 is located above the pressure plate 25. The holding device 2 is closed. The stain removal device 1 is switched on by actuating the switch 6. A barcode reader arranged in the housing 20 reads the barcode on the cartridge 10. Depending on the barcode read, the cleaning procedure is controlled by means of a controlling device 33. The controlling device 33 also controls the pump, the brush, the fan and the heating device. The brush 26 is lowered onto the pressure plate. The stained area of the textile is immersed in the wash container. 250 ml of water is delivered from the reservoir 7 into the washing container. The section of the textile 23 located in the wash tank is rinsed. The washing container is emptied by conveying the water into the receiving container 8. A further 250 ml of water is conveyed via the cleaning additive container 9, the water being mixed with cleaning additive. This mixture is heated by the heating device and fed to the washing container. The brush is moved parallel to the pressure plate 25. Additional cleaning fluid can be applied to the textile via the spray nozzles 32. After this cleaning step, the mixture of water and cleaning additive is discharged from the washing container into the receiving container 8. Subsequently, the area of the textile 23 received in the washing container is rinsed twice with 250 ml of water each time, which is fed from the storage container into the washing container. For rinsing, the brush can be lifted and move to its initial position or starting position. After rinsing, the cleaned section of the textile is dried by the air flow generated by the fan. For smoothing wrinkles, steam can be generated and passed over the section of the textile.
