Abstract
Description
Lure and lure manufacturing method
[0001] The present invention relates to a lure having an external shape resembling a fish or the like, and a method for manufacturing the same.
[0002] Various lures have been proposed in the past. For example, the lure described in Patent Document 1 includes a solid lure body made of synthetic resin with an external shape resembling a fish, a stainless steel plate disposed near the center of the width of the lure body from the head to the tail, a fishing line hook that is continuous with the stainless steel plate and protrudes from the head of the lure body, and a fishhook that is continuous with the stainless steel plate and protrudes from the abdomen and tail of the lure body. A lustrous sheet is attached to the stainless steel plate. It is stated that this lure attracts fish's attention and has excellent durability because the lustrous sheet is attached to the metal plate inside the lure body.
[0003] Furthermore, Patent Document 2 discloses a lure used for casting, which includes a lure body, a passage-shaped weight guide provided inside the lure body, a circular magnet provided on the outer periphery of the weight guide, a non-magnetic weight disposed within the weight guide so as to be movable back and forth, and a steel ball disposed within the weight guide so as to be movable together with the weight. It is stated that this lure allows the use of a weight made of a non-magnetic material with a large specific gravity, and therefore the weight can be made heavier without using a weight with a large volume, allowing for smooth movement of the center of gravity.

[0023] A lure according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. In the description of the lure in this specification, the front-rear direction of the lure refers to the direction extending longitudinally of the lure. The lateral direction (width direction, left-right direction) of the lure refers to the direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction in a plan view. Furthermore, the up-down direction (vertical direction) of the lure refers to the direction from the upper dorsal surface of the lure to the lower belly surface in FIG. 1(a), for example.
[0024] [Configuration of Lure 1] Fig. 1(a) is a front view of a lure according to an embodiment, and Fig. 1(b) is a plan view thereof. As shown in Fig. 1, the lure according to this embodiment is made to resemble a real, live fish. The lure 1 has a lure component 3 made of a flexible material such as synthetic resin. The lure body 2 is made up of the lure component 3. The lure 1 has a head 2a, a body 2b, and a tail 2c, and the interior of the lure 1 is filled with the material that makes up the lure component 3, except for a weight storage section 8 and a weight through-hole 11, which will be described later.
[0025] That is, while many conventional lures have hollow interiors, the lure 1 of this embodiment is solid like a real fish. The lure component 3 is generally manufactured by an injection molding method, as described below. By manufacturing the lure component 3 from a flexible material, it is possible to configure the tail 2c to swing more to the left and right than the head 2a, if necessary. Soft materials such as urethane resin, silicone resin, and rubber resin can be used as the flexible material. The specific gravity of the flexible material is preferably in the range of 1.1 to 1.4.
[0026] In the lure 1 of this embodiment, eyes 14 and pectoral fins 17 are formed by bulges protruding from the surface of the lure component 3. A gill cover line 13 representing a gill cover is provided at the tip of the lure 1. Depending on the type of lure 1, when a fish-shaped lure such as a mackerel, horse mackerel, or chub mackerel of the Scombridae or Carangidae family is used as the lure 1, the weight 10 (see FIG. 2) is often provided at a position overlapping the gills or eyes.
[0027] In addition, the first dorsal fin 16a, the second dorsal fin 16b, and the anal fin 19 are provided so as to protrude outward. Although the lure 1 shown in Fig. 1 does not have pelvic fins, they may be provided as needed when manufacturing a lure to resemble a fish with distinctive pelvic fins. In this way, one of the features of the lure according to this embodiment is that it has a shape and flexibility similar to that of natural live bait.
[0028] Fig. 2 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the lure in Fig. 1(b) taken along line II-II, Fig. 3 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the lure in Fig. 1(a) taken along line III-III, both of which are diagrams for explaining the internal structure of the lure. Fig. 4 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the lure according to the embodiment, with a pulling line also called a leader and a tackle line with a fishing hook attached.
[0029] As shown in Figures 2 to 4, the tip opening 4 is located at the tip of the lure 1, and the bottom opening 5 is located at a lower position in the body 2b or tail 2c of the lure 1. The bottom opening 5 can also be located at or near the anus of a real fish. The main body through-hole 6 is a long, narrow hole that penetrates from the tip opening 4 to the bottom opening 5, and is set to a width or inner diameter sufficient to allow the trip line 31 to pass through. The cross-sectional shape of the main body through-hole 6 can be not only circular, but also various other shapes, such as rectangular. A cylindrical weight storage compartment 8 is formed in the head 2a of the lure 1, and a weight 10 is stored in the weight storage compartment 8. In Figure 4, a twist suppressor 36, such as a snap, can be provided at the connection between the pull line 30 and the trip line 31.
[0030] FIG. 5 illustrates an example of a weight configuration. FIG. 5(a) is a perspective view of a cylindrical weight, and FIG. 5(b) is a perspective view of a roughly cocoon-shaped or ellipsoidal weight. The weight 10 extends longitudinally, with a weight through-hole 11 extending longitudinally at the center of the weight 10 in the short direction. For example, the cylindrical weight 10c has a weight through-hole 11 formed in the direction of the central axis of the cylinder. The lure 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 7 employs the cylindrical weight 10c shown in FIG. 5(a) as the weight 10. The roughly cocoon-shaped weight 10m also has a weight through-hole 11 extending longitudinally of the roughly cocoon-shaped or ellipsoidal weight. When the weight 10 is stored in the weight storage compartment 8, the weight 10 is arranged in a shape that extends substantially in the front-to-rear direction of the lure 1.
[0031] Since the weight storage section 8 is disposed at the tip side of the lure 1, the weight 10 stored in the weight storage section 8 is also disposed at the tip side of the lure 1. In this example, the weight storage section 8 is disposed in the head 2a of the lure 1. Furthermore, since the weight 10 is stored in the weight storage section 8, the weight 10 is fixed inside the lure 1. The weight 10 is disposed at a position on the tip side of the lure 1. As an example, with respect to the total length L from the tip to the rear end of the lure 1, the length M from the tip to the rear end of the weight can be set at a position of 0.05L to 0.4L, more preferably 0.1L to 0.3L.
[0032] As shown in Figure 2, when the weight 10 is stored in the weight storage section 8, the body through-hole 6 and the weight through-hole 11 are connected to form a single linear or other shaped through-hole. In this case, a portion of the body through-hole 6 is formed by the weight through-hole 11. The body through-hole 6 according to this embodiment is tilted downward with respect to a lure longitudinal direction line 12 extending in the longitudinal direction of the lure 1. Specifically, the angle θ of the body through-hole 6 with respect to the lure longitudinal direction line 12 is tilted downward within a range of 3° to 40°.
[0033] Since the lower opening 5 is often located near the anus of the fish that the lure 1 is intended to imitate, the position of the lower opening 5 is often located rearward of the halfway point of the overall length L from the tip to the rear end of the lure 1. As shown in Figure 4, by providing the body through-hole 6 tilted downward with respect to the lure's longitudinal direction line 12 as shown in Figure 4, when the trip line 31 is passed through the body through-hole 6, the fishhook 32 can be positioned at a predetermined position near the lower tail of the lure where it is easy to hook a fish, as shown by the dashed line. However, in the modified examples of the present invention, the angle θ is not limited to 0° or an angle θ outside the above range.
[0034] FIG. 6( a) is a schematic diagram of a lure according to an embodiment, viewed from above, and FIG. 6( b) is a diagram illustrating the lure's movement in water. As shown in FIG. 6, the lure has a weight 10 at its tip, providing weight. The head 2a is relatively stable against changes in the pulling direction of the pull line 30, and the body 2b and tail 2c, which are elastically deformable, extend from the head 2a. This configuration, as shown in FIG. 6( b), exhibits a movement resembling a series of vertically elongated S-shapes in water, which has the advantage of appearing to predatory fish as a living fish. By adjusting the flexibility and weight balance, the head 2a can be configured to move little, with the tail 2c and body 2b moving significantly from side to side. Because the main body through-hole 6 is formed by providing a through-hole in the lure-forming portion 3, the movement of the body 2b and tail 2c is not hindered, as would be the case if a metal pipe were embedded, and the tail 2c can be made to sway from side to side, resembling the natural swimming of a fish. Therefore, predators, such as fish larger than Lure 1, are more likely to bite.
[0035] Thus, one feature of the present invention is that the lure 1 has a body through-hole 6 formed from the tip opening 4 to the bottom opening 5, and the trip line 31 for attaching the fishing hook 32 is passed through the body through-hole 6. As long as the body through-hole 6 is flexible enough to allow the tail 2c of the lure 1 to move naturally from side to side, the method for making the body through-hole 6 is not limited in the lure of the present invention. Furthermore, when the force of a fish caught by the fishing hook 32 acts on the trip line 31, the trip line 31 is supported at the front of the lure 1 by the weight through-hole 11 of the weight 10, which improves the stability of the lure 1 in holding the trip line 31.
[0036] [Manufacturing Method of Lure 1] An example of a manufacturing method of the lure according to the present invention will be described below. Fig. 7(a) is a plan view illustrating the relationship between the rod-shaped insert and the weight, and Fig. 7(b) is a plan view showing the rod-shaped insert and the weight arranged in an injection molding die. As shown in Fig. 7(a), this rod-shaped insert 20 is a rod portion having a thickness that allows it to be inserted through the weight through-hole 11 of the weight 10, and has a positioning portion 23 that determines the position where the weight 10 should be supported.
[0037] In this embodiment, the defining portion 23 is formed with a tapered portion 24 that is small at the tip end toward the tail end and large at the rear end so that the rod-shaped nesting piece 20 can be easily pulled out toward the tail end of the lure 1 when viewed from the pull-out direction 27 of the rod-shaped nesting piece 20. A pull base 26 is also provided in the pull-out direction of the rod-shaped nesting piece 20, and the rod-shaped nesting piece 20 can be pulled by holding the pull base 26. The weight 10 is passed through the tip end of the tapered portion 24, and the position of the weight 10 is defined when it abuts against the tapered portion 24, as shown by arrow 33 when attached in Figure 7(a).
[0038] Figure 7(b) is a schematic diagram of the lower mold 21 of two upper and lower injection molding dies 21 that are vertically split into approximately equal halves of the lure shown in Figure 1(b) horizontally. In Figure 7(b), a nest positioning portion 25 that positions the lure in the front-to-back and up-to-down directions as viewed from the lure is provided at a predetermined corresponding portion on the pull base 26 side. The configuration of the nest positioning portion 25 shown in Figure 7(b) is one example, and various configurations can be adopted. If necessary, the nest positioning portion 25 may also be provided on the tip side of the rod-shaped nest 20.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 7( b), a mold 21 having an overall fish-shaped shape for the lure 1 is prepared, and a rod-shaped nesting piece 20 with a weight 10 attached is placed in the mold 21 near the tip of the lure. The rod-shaped nesting piece 20 is positioned so that it extends from the tip of the lure in the mold 21 to the bottom of the lure and protrudes from the fish-shaped recess 22 of the mold 21 at both the tip and rear ends. A flexible material such as urethane resin is then injected through the rod-shaped nesting piece 20, thereby forming a fish-shaped lure component 3 in which the flexible material envelops the weight 10 and rod-shaped nesting piece 20. In this manner, the lure component 3 is formed as a molded product in which the weight 10, rod-shaped nesting piece 20, and flexible resin are integrated. The process of forming the lure component 3 is an example of a lure component forming process.
[0040] Next, rod-shaped nest 20 is pulled out from base 26 of lure constituent part 3, leaving weight 10 inside, to form body through-hole 6 extending from tip opening 4 of the lure to the lower opening of the lure. Defining part 23 is formed as tapered part 24 having a tapered surface in order to facilitate pulling out the lure along pull-out direction 27. The process of forming body through-hole 6 in this manner is an example of a body through-hole forming process.
[0041] 7 is depicted as a tapered portion 24, which is enlarged for clarity, but the actual configuration may be smaller. The defining portion 23 need not be formed by a tapered portion 24. Any shape that can position the weight 10 and facilitates pulling out the weight 10 by elastic deformation of a flexible material, such as a tapered shape, may be appropriately adopted. The surface of the lure-forming portion 3 having the formed main body through-hole 6 is formed with a lure surface by a method such as coloring that resembles the surface of an actual fish or a color that emphasizes the pattern of an actual fish, or by attaching a transfer sheet.
[0042] [Example of a lure according to the present embodiment] As shown in Figure 2, a lure 1 imitating mackerel, bonito, etc. was manufactured by the above-described lure manufacturing method as a lure for tuna, yellowfin tuna, or marlin. The lure 1 has a cylindrical weight 10c inside it, a length in the front-to-back direction of 200 mm, a body width of 40 mm, and a total weight of 210 g. The ratio (G2 / G1) of the weight G2 of the weight 10 to the total weight G1 of the lure 1 including the weight 10 can be set to 0.1 or more and 0.5 or less.
[0043] The cylindrical weight 10c is made of metal such as lead or stainless steel, and is 25 mm high, 20 mm in diameter, and has a weight through-hole 11 with a diameter of 4.5 mm. The cylindrical weight 10c alone weighs 56 g. The diameter of the main body through-hole 6 is approximately 4.5 mm. The pulling line 30 of the lure 1 configured as shown in Figure 2 is positioned at the tip of the lure 1, and a trip line 31 is inserted through the tip opening 4, passed through the main body through-hole 6, and pulled out from the bottom opening 5. A fishhook 32 is attached to the tip of the trip line 31, completing the setup of the lure 1.
[0044] Furthermore, when a lure is attached with a weight (bottle) and swam at a depth where tuna, yellowfin tuna, or marlin are present, the hook 32 is often seen to be caught in the lower jaw 40 of the caught fish, as shown in Figure 8. This shows that the lure according to this embodiment does not flip over in the sea or spin around the pull line 30, and looks like a natural live bait. Furthermore, with the lure according to this embodiment, the weight 10 is located at the tip, for example, near the head 2a, and the trip line 31 is provided so as to pass through the weight through-hole 11, and the fishhook 32 is attached to the trip line 31, thereby increasing the likelihood of reliably catching a fish that tries to eat the lure.
[0045] FIG. 9 is a diagram showing an example of the underwater movement path of a lure according to this embodiment. As shown in FIG. 9, when the lure according to this embodiment is pulled in water by a pull line 30 (see FIG. 4), it follows a movement path 42 that meanders left and right relative to the direction of travel of the lure. The movement path 42 is a curve that resembles a substantially circular arc or hyperbola, with alternating left and right curves connected relative to the direction of travel. This left-right meandering movement of the lure makes it appear as if it is a fish swimming left and right, and it has been confirmed that this movement significantly increases the bite of predatory fish. The left-right meandering movement path 42 and the movement of the lure can be adjusted appropriately by adjusting the position and weight balance of the weight of the weight 10 (see FIG. 2) to improve the bite.
[0046] [Modifications] Modifications of the present invention will be described below. The rod-shaped insert 20 used in the lure manufacturing method described above is made of a single rod material and is configured to be pulled out from the rear of the lure, but it may also be configured to be pulled out from the front of the lure. Furthermore, in cases where a highly viscous, flexible material is used, it is possible to employ an interlocking structure or the like for the two rod-shaped inserts at the rear and front of the lure to make it easier to pull out, so that they can be in a connected or separated state, and to pull out from both the rear and front of the lure.
[0047] In the lure described above, the lure component 3 is shown as an example of a fish that resembles a mackerel, horse mackerel, or chub mackerel (wakanagi), but it is clear that the shape of the lure component 3 can be configured to resemble a fish that is preyed upon by the fish that the lure is intended to catch. In this case, it is not excluded to set the direction in which the tail swings more than the head in an up-down direction depending on the swimming style of the fish that the lure is intended to resemble. However, setting it in a left-right direction is preferable because it makes the lure's movement more natural and significantly improves fishing.
[0048] Other Embodiments Below, other embodiments of the present invention, such as particularly preferred ranges and modifications, will be described. As shown in FIG. 2, the length N measured from the tip of the fishing lure 1 to the position of the rear end 10b of the weight 10 can be set to 5 mm or more and 70 mm or less. By setting this length, the fishing lure can perform an S-shaped movement like a live fish, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 9. As shown in FIGS. 7(b) and 10, the fishing lure 1 has a weight storage section 8 for storing the weight 10 inside, and the connecting portion 44 of the main body through-hole 6 communicating with the weight storage section 8 from the tail section 2c side can be configured so that the cross-sectional area is narrow on the tail section 2c side and gradually increases toward the weight storage section 8 side.
[0049] 11(a) and 11(b) are diagrams showing examples of the rod-shaped nesting piece 20. An example of the configuration of the connecting portion 44 will be described with reference to FIG. 11 . The defining portion 23 forming the lure-side connecting portion 44 is formed as a tapered portion 24 with a small tip on the tail side and a large rear end, so that the rod-shaped nesting piece 20 can be easily pulled out toward the tail of the lure 1. The length of the widest portion Q of the connecting portion 44 is preferably 4 mm or more and 30 mm or less. The narrowest portion of the connecting portion 44 is the same as the diameter of the rod-shaped nesting piece 20. In this specification, "diameter" refers not only to the width of a circular cross section, but also to the width of a triangular, rectangular, elliptical, or other cross section. The length P of the connecting portion 44 in the front-to-rear direction is preferably 1 mm or more and 15 mm or less.
[0050] Furthermore, it is preferable that the length of the widest part S of the body through-hole 6 at the tip of the lure 1 is 2 mm or more and 10 mm or less. This preferable range is the range of the tip of the body through-hole 6 at the tip of the lure 1, and the diameter of the body through-hole 6 can vary depending on its position. However, the diameter of the body through-hole 6 is usually set to 2 mm or more and 10 mm or less. As shown in Figures 10 and 12, the body through-hole 6 is configured to include a head-side hole 6a located closer to the tip than the weight storage section 8 and a tail-side hole 6b located closer to the tail than the weight storage section 8. Furthermore, it is preferable that the weight 10 weighs 10 g or more and 1000 g or less, and within that range, a more preferable range is 40 g or more and 150 g or less.
[0051] In the normal use mode of the lure 1, as shown in FIG. 4 and the like, the trip line 31 connecting the fishing hook 32 of the lure 1 is configured to be able to be positioned at the rear of the lure 1 through the main body through-hole 6. The maximum lengths of the weight 10 in the front-to-rear and width directions are preferably 10 mm to 50 mm. The "maximum lengths in the front-to-rear and width directions" refers to the maximum lengths of the front-to-rear length U and width direction V shown in FIG. 5(a), the front-to-rear length W and width direction length X of the sphere shown in FIG. 11(b), and the ellipsoidal sphere shown in FIG. 5(b). The external shape of the weight 10 is preferably a cylinder, sphere, or ellipsoidal sphere. The term "sphere or ellipsoidal sphere" also includes cases where the weight 10 is "approximately a cylinder, an approximate sphere, or an approximate ellipsoidal sphere" as seen by an observer.
[0052] As shown in FIG. 12 , the tail-side hole 6b, which is closer to the tail section 2c than the weight storage section 8, can be configured so that its cross-sectional area gradually increases toward the tail section 2c. To form such a tail-side hole 6b, a rod-shaped nest 20 having an elliptical cone 48 (or a circular cone) as shown in FIG. 13( a) or a polygonal pyramid 49, such as a square pyramid, as shown in FIG. 13( c) can be used. Note that the base 50 for receiving the weight 10 is formed by the surface of the head of each cone. After the resin is filled into the mold, the shape of the base 50 differs from the shape of the weight storage section 8 (see FIG. 2). For example, in the configuration shown in FIG. 13 , one side is a sphere and the other is an elliptical or square plane that constitutes the base 50. While FIG. 13 shows a spherical weight 10, the shape of the base 50 differs from the shape of the weight storage section 8 even if the weight 10 is a cylinder or an elliptical sphere.
[0053] In terms of the manufactured lure 1, the shape of the tail side hole 6b on the weight storage section 8 side is different from the shape of the tail side hole 6b side of the weight storage section 8. In terms of the rod-shaped insert 20 in Figure 13, it is preferable that the cross section of the tail side hole 6b, which is closer to the tail 2c than the weight storage section 8, is an irregularly shaped portion 47 that is different from a circle. This is because, in order to reduce manufacturing costs, it is preferable to form the shape of the lower opening 5, which does not rotate around the axis of the trip line when a fishhook is attached to the lure, in the shape of the rod-shaped insert 20 at once, rather than processing it later.
[0054] 13, the horizontal length E1 of the base portion 50 of the elliptical cone 48 or square pyramid 49 (polygonal pyramid 49) can be 2 mm or more and 15 mm or less, and the vertical length D1 can be 4 mm or more and 15 mm or less. Furthermore, the horizontal length E2 at the position of the lower opening 5 on the tail portion 2c side can be 1 mm or more and 15 mm or less, and the vertical length D2 can be 3 mm or more and 15 mm or less. The respective lengths at the position of the lower opening 5 on the tail portion 2c side are particularly important.
[0055] 14 and 15 show that the fishhook 32 has an engaging base end 45 that fits into the flared tail-side hole 6b formed by the elliptical cone 48. As shown in Figs. 14 and 15, the fishhook 32 preferably has the engaging base end 45, and the engaging base end 45 is configured so that it is inserted through the lower opening 5 and remains inserted until a fish such as a tuna is hooked on the fishhook 32. With this configuration, the hooked portion of the fishhook 32 is exposed to the lure (the state shown in Fig. 15(a)) until the fish is hooked, making it possible to reliably catch a fish that tries to swallow the lure, and after the fish is hooked, the hooked portion is released from the lure (the state shown in Fig. 15(b)), greatly preventing the fish from coming off the fishhook 32.
[0056] 14 and 15 show an example in which a ring-shaped engaging base end 45 is formed, and the inserted state is maintained by pushing the ring-shaped engaging base end 45 so that it bites into the inner circumferential wall of the flexible tail-side hole 6b. The length of the inserted portion and the degree of protrusion (diameter, etc.) of the ring are set to a degree that allows the inserted state to be maintained satisfactorily. As shown in FIG. 14(a), the angle φ formed between the base end where the engaging base end 45 is located and the tip end of the fishhook 32 can also be set outward.
[0057] In addition, the present invention can employ other configurations for temporarily holding the fishhook 32 until a fish is caught on the lure, in addition to the configuration in which the engaging base end 45 is inserted into the tail-side hole 6b. For example, the fishhook 32 can have an engaging base end 45 that engages with the lower opening 5 (including the area surrounding the lower opening 5) and maintains the engaged state until a fish is caught on the fishhook 32. Various configurations for maintaining the engaged state can be considered, such as a locking structure that disengages from the lure when a certain force is applied, or a fitting structure. Even with such a configuration, the likelihood of the fishhook 32 becoming caught in the fish's mouth or elsewhere becoming disengaged can be significantly reduced, even if the caught fish struggles. The above-described locking and fitting structures can be realized by various combinations of the shape of the engaging base end 45 and the shape of the lower opening 5. Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 10 , the engaging base end 45 may be provided with a guide portion 46 extending in the axial direction of the trip line 31. The present invention does not exclude a configuration in which the tackle line 31 connected to the fishing hook 32 does not pass through the main body through-hole 6 but is detachably fastened to a predetermined location on the outer surface of the lure.
[0058] FIG. 16 shows a fishing lure 1 on which a surface decoration layer 52 having "shiny particles 51" that reflect light and shine is formed on all or part of the surface of the fishing lure 1. The "shiny particles 51" are composed of particles containing at least one of pearl powder, mica, titanium oxide, iron oxide, and silica. The surface decoration layer 52 is preferably formed from a rubber-based layer containing the shiny particles 51. One method for manufacturing the surface decoration layer 52 is to first spray a primer layer, such as a rubber-based paint, onto the entire surface of the fishing lure 1, then spray and fix the shiny particles 51 onto the primer layer, and then spray a transparent rubber-based paint to protect the surface. Alternatively, the surface decoration layer 52 can be manufactured by printing a rubber-based paint containing the shiny particles 51 onto the surface of the fishing lure 1 using known methods and means.
[0059] Although the present invention has been described above by way of example of an embodiment, the technical scope of the present invention is not limited to the configurations described in the above embodiment. The technical scope of the present invention should be determined based on the claims, and it goes without saying that various modifications, additions to the configuration, and improvements can be made within that scope.
