Abstract
Description
Laundry system Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a laundry system arranged in a coin-operated laundry. Background Art
[0002] Generally speaking, coin-operated laundries are equipped with multiple laundry equipment such as washing machines that perform from washing operation to rinsing operation and dehydration operation, washer-dryers that perform from washing operation to rinsing operation, dehydration operation and drying process, and dryers that only perform drying operation (for example, refer to Patent Document 1).
[0003] Laundry machines installed in coin-operated laundries can sometimes generate noise when operated during quiet hours, such as at night. It's known that when multiple laundry machines are simultaneously spinning, vibrations resonate, generating loud noise. Similarly, when multiple laundry machines are simultaneously drying, fan noise resonates, generating loud noise. This has led to complaints from residents living near coin-operated laundries against the laundromat's owners.

[0007] Summary of the Invention
[0008] Problems to be solved by the invention
[0009] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a laundry system that can suppress noise complaints from owners of coin laundry shops.
[0010] Solutions for solving problems
[0011] A laundry system according to one aspect of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises: a plurality of laundry appliances installed in a coin-operated laundry shop; and a controller for controlling the plurality of laundry appliances, wherein the laundry appliances are capable of operating in a normal mode and in a silent mode that is quieter than the normal mode for at least one of a dehydration operation and a drying operation, and wherein, for the plurality of laundry appliances, the controller switches the operation of the laundry appliances from the normal mode to the silent mode when specified conditions are met.
[0012] In this case, in a coin laundry, when predetermined conditions are met, the operation of multiple laundry machines is switched to a quieter mode than the normal mode, thereby preventing noise complaints from coin laundry owners.
[0013] Preferably, the predetermined condition is a state in which the number of operating laundry machines in the coin laundry is equal to or greater than a predetermined number.
[0014] In this case, since the noise generated in the coin laundry becomes loud when many laundry machines are operated simultaneously in the coin laundry, the noise at this time can be reduced.
[0015] Preferably, the predetermined condition is a state in which the number of the laundry machines in the coin laundry operating in the dehydration mode is greater than or equal to a predetermined number.
[0016] In this case, when vibration sound during the dehydration operation of the laundry machine is a major cause of noise generated in the coin laundry, the noise generated in the coin laundry can be effectively reduced.
[0017] Preferably, the predetermined condition is a state in which the number of laundry machines in the coin laundry operating in the drying operation is equal to or greater than a predetermined number.
[0018] In this case, when the exhaust sound during the drying operation of the laundry machine is a major cause of the noise generated in the coin laundry, the noise generated in the coin laundry can be effectively reduced.
[0019] Preferably, the controller stores a relationship between the number of operating laundry machines included in the plurality of laundry machines and noise levels at that time, and the predetermined number of laundry machines is set based on the relationship.
[0020] In this case, the owner of the coin laundry can appropriately set the predetermined number of laundry machines to be switched to the silent mode, which is quieter than the normal mode, based on the relationship between the number of operating laundry machines and the noise level at that time.
[0021] Preferably, the predetermined numbers of vehicles are set to different numbers for two different time periods.
[0022] In this case, for example, even the same noise level will have different effects on residents living near the coin laundry during the quiet time period at night and the noisy time period during the day. Therefore, by changing the specified number of machines to be switched to the silent mode, which is quieter than the normal mode, according to the time period, the noise generated in the coin laundry can be appropriately suppressed.
[0023] Preferably, the predetermined number of coin laundries is set to different numbers for coin laundries located in different areas.
[0024] In this case, even if the noise level is the same in urban and rural areas, the impact on residents living near coin laundries will be different. Therefore, by changing the specified number of machines to be switched to quieter mode (quieter than normal mode) according to the region, the noise generated in coin laundries can be appropriately suppressed.
[0025] Preferably, the coin laundry is provided with a noise measuring unit for measuring noise level, and the predetermined condition is a state where the noise level measured by the noise measuring unit exceeds a preset threshold value.
[0026] In this case, the operation can be appropriately switched to the silent mode that is quieter than the normal mode based on the measurement results of the noise generated in the coin laundry.
[0027] Preferably, the laundry appliance comprises: a washing machine body accommodating a drum; an exhaust duct connecting the washing machine body to the outside; and a fan discharging air in the washing machine body to the outside through the exhaust duct, and the noise measuring unit is arranged near the exhaust port of the exhaust duct.
[0028] In this case, by providing a noise measuring unit near the exhaust port of the exhaust duct where loud noise is generated during the drying operation of the laundry machine, the noise generated in the coin laundry can be appropriately measured.
[0029] Another aspect of the present invention is characterized in that the laundry system comprises: a plurality of laundry machines installed in a coin-operated laundry shop; and a controller for controlling the plurality of laundry machines, wherein the laundry machines can perform a dehydration operation. When a new laundry machine is started while (n-1) of the plurality of laundry machines are already in operation, the controller staggers the timing of the dehydration operation of the newly started laundry machine, so that the dehydration operations of the n laundry machines are not performed simultaneously, or the time during which the dehydration operations of the n laundry machines are performed simultaneously is shortened.
[0030] In this case, when the nth laundry machine starts operating, the operating mode is changed so that the timing of the dehydration operation is staggered. Therefore, by preventing the noise generated in the coin laundry from becoming louder, it is possible to suppress noise complaints from coin laundry owners.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0063] (First embodiment)
[0064] FIG1 is a schematic diagram showing the configuration of a coin laundry T equipped with a laundry system T101 according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
[0065] As shown in Figure 1, a laundry system T101 at a coin-operated laundry T includes: laundry equipment 100, consisting of a washer-dryer 101 and a dryer 102; and a DTC 105 (store controller) connecting the washer-dryer 101 and the dryer 102 via a wired or wireless connection. The laundry equipment 100 includes a cost accounting machine (not shown) that enables local settlement of each laundry equipment 100. Figure 1 illustrates a scenario in which six washer-dryers 101 and eight dryers 102 are installed as laundry equipment 100 at the coin-operated laundry T. It should be noted that the type and number of laundry equipment 100 installed at the coin-operated laundry T can be varied as appropriate.
[0066] Below, the structure of the washer-dryer 101 is described based on Figures 2 to 5. Figure 2 is a three-dimensional view of the washer-dryer 101 of the first embodiment of the present invention, which is a view observed from the front and upper right. In addition, in order to expose a part of the internal components, it is shown in a partially notched state. Figures 3 and 4 are schematic sectional views obtained by observing the washer-dryer 101 from the left or right side at a vertical plane along the front-to-back direction. Figure 5 is a diagram showing the structure around the gas burner 48. In this embodiment, the description of the washer-dryer 101 and its components (assemblies) is, for convenience, described with the x direction shown in Figure 2 as the front (front) side and the opposite side as the back (rear) side, the z direction as the upper surface (upper) side and the opposite side as the bottom (lower) side, and the y direction as the right side and the opposite side as the left side.
[0067] Washer-dryer 101 is a commercial washer-dryer. Its outer shell consists of a slightly vertically elongated washing machine body 2. An outer tub 3 is located approximately in the center of washing machine body 2. Outer tub 3 holds water supplied from an external water supply, etc., and is cylindrically shaped, centered on a central axis N extending in a generally horizontal direction.
[0068] The front surface of the outer tub 3 is formed with an outer tub inlet 3a for loading and unloading laundry. A door 10 is freely attached to the outer tub inlet 3a, which the user opens when loading and unloading laundry. A circular opening 2a, slightly larger than the outer tub inlet 3a, is formed approximately in the center of the front surface of the washing machine body 2, facing the outer tub inlet 3a.
[0069] On the back of the washing machine body 2, above and behind the outer tub 3, is a water supply port 11 connected to an external water supply device. This port is connected to a water supply port 12 formed in the upper portion of the outer tub 3 via a water supply pipe 13. A water supply valve 13a is provided midway along the water supply pipe 13. By opening this valve, water supplied from the water supply port 11 via the water supply pipe 13 flows from the water supply port 12 into the outer tub 3 and is stored within the outer tub 3.
[0070] A drum 5 for storing laundry is located within the outer tub 3. The drum 5 is cylindrical and rotatably mounted. The inner circumference of the drum 5 is perforated with numerous holes 5a extending substantially around the entire circumference, connecting the interior of the drum 5 to the outer tub 3 via these holes 5a. Furthermore, a plurality of lifting ribs 5b are provided on the inner circumference of the drum 5, projecting into the drum 5. In the center of the front surface of the drum 5, a laundry inlet and outlet 5c for loading and unloading laundry opens concentrically with the outer tub inlet and outlet 3a, with a diameter substantially the same as the opening.
[0071] A drain port 15 is formed at the bottom of the outer tub 3. The drain port 15 is connected to the outside of the machine via a drain pipe 16. By opening a drain valve 16a inserted in the drain pipe 16, the water stored in the outer tub 3 is discharged to the outside of the machine via the drain pipe 16.
[0072] On the rear surface of the drum 5, a rotating shaft 31 protruding rearward is rotatably held by a bearing 32 provided on the rear surface of the tub 3. A motor 33 for rotating the drum 5 is located at the lower rear end of the tub 3. A transmission belt 36 is looped between a motor pulley 34 mounted on the drive shaft 31a of the motor 33 and a drum pulley 35 mounted on the rear end of the rotating shaft 31. When the motor 33 is driven, the drum 5 rotates.
[0073] As shown in FIG. 3 , an air intake duct 40 and a cold air duct 41 are integrally provided at the upper right portion of the outer tub 3 .
[0074] An inlet 42 is formed slightly forward of the center of the lower surface of the air intake duct 40. The air intake duct 40 communicates with the outer tub 3 via the inlet 42. The upper portion of the air intake duct 40 is connected to an air intake port 46 formed on the upper back side of the washing machine body 2 via an air intake duct connecting pipe 43 and a pipe 44. The air intake port 46 also communicates with the outside of the washing machine.
[0075] A gas burner 48 is disposed within the duct 44. The gas burner 48 heats the air introduced into the duct 44 before directing the air into the drum 5. Specifically, the heated air used to dry the laundry during the drying operation is generated by the heat of the gas burner 48. As shown in FIG5 , a gas supply pipe 48a for supplying gas is connected to the gas burner 48. The gas supply pipe 48a is equipped with a gas valve 48N that switches between an open state (gas supply from the outside) and a closed state (gas not being supplied), and a proportional valve 48C that adjusts the amount of gas supplied to the gas burner 48.
[0076] On the other hand, a cold air inlet 41a serving as an air inlet is formed on the upper surface of the cold air duct 41. The cold air duct 41 is connected to the outer tub 3 via a cold air flow inlet 41b formed on the lower surface thereof.
[0077] As shown in Figure 4 , an exhaust duct 50 is provided at the upper left portion of the outer tub 3. An outlet 51 is formed at the rear portion of the lower surface of the exhaust duct 50, and the exhaust duct 50 communicates with the outer tub 3 via the outlet 51. Furthermore, an exhaust duct connecting pipe 52 and a duct 53 are connected above the exhaust duct 50.
[0078] A duct outlet 54 is formed at the other end of the duct 53. The duct outlet 54 is exposed from an exhaust port 55 formed on the upper surface of the washing machine body 2. The exposed portion is connected to the outside of the room via an exhaust pipe (not shown) provided outside the machine.
[0079] A fan 57 is disposed within the duct 53. The fan 57 is driven, for example, during drying operation, to discharge air within the drum 5 and tub 3 to the outside through the duct outlet 54. A filter 58 is disposed within the duct 53 between the fan 57 and the duct inlet 53a to capture sand, dust, and lint (such as lint and fluff) contained in the air flowing from the duct inlet 53a.
[0080] Figure 6 is a control block diagram of a laundry system T101 in a coin laundry T. As shown in Figure 6, the control unit 60 of the washer-dryer 101 is comprised of, for example, a microcomputer and includes a CPU (Central Processing Unit), ROM (Read Only Memory), a timer, and RAM (Random Access Memory). The washing, rinsing, spin, and drying operations of the washer-dryer 101 are controlled by the control unit 60. The control unit 60 of the washer-dryer 101 is wirelessly or wiredly connected to the DTC 105 installed in the coin laundry T. Therefore, the DTC 105 can centrally control the multiple laundry machines 100 (washer-dryers 101 and dryers 102) installed in the coin laundry T.
[0081] The control unit 60 includes a normal mode setting unit 61, a silent mode setting unit 62, a silent mode switching unit 63, a gas volume adjustment unit 64, and a coupon issuing unit 65. Connected to the control unit 60 are an operation panel 66, a drum inlet temperature sensor 67 for detecting the temperature of air supplied to the drum 5, a motor 33 for rotating the drum 5, a fan 57 driven during drying operation, a gas valve 48N, a proportional valve 48C, and a coupon printing device 68 for printing coupons.
[0082] DTC 105 is comprised of, for example, a microcomputer and includes a CPU, ROM, a timer, and RAM. DTC 105 controls the operation of the multiple laundry machines 100 (washer-dryers 101 and dryers 102) installed in coin laundry T. DTC 105 includes a switchable number setting unit 106a and a noise characteristics storage unit 106b.
[0083] The washer-dryer 101 of this embodiment can perform both the dehydration operation and the drying operation in a normal mode and a silent mode that is quieter than the normal mode.
[0084] (Silent mode for dehydration)
[0085] When the dehydration operation is performed in silent mode, the rotation speed of the drum 5 is controlled to be lower than that in normal mode to reduce vibration (operational sound). Therefore, due to the reduced dehydration capacity, the operation time of the dehydration operation in silent mode is changed to be longer than that in normal mode.
[0086] (Silent mode for drying operation)
[0087] When the drying operation is performed in the silent mode, the speed of the fan 57 is controlled to be lower than that in the normal mode in order to reduce the exhaust sound (operation sound). Therefore, since the drying capacity is reduced, the operation time of the drying operation in the silent mode is changed to be longer than that in the normal mode.
[0088] Normal mode setting unit 61 stores a rotation speed A1 of drum 5 when a dehydration operation is performed in the normal mode and a rotation speed C1 of fan 57 when a drying operation is performed in the normal mode.
[0089] The silent mode setting unit 62 stores the rotational speed A2 of the drum 5 when the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode, and the rotational speed C2 of the fan 57 when the drying operation is performed in the normal mode. The rotational speed A2 of the drum 5 when the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode is lower than the rotational speed A1 of the drum 5 when the dehydration operation is performed in the normal mode. The rotational speed C2 of the fan 57 when the drying operation is performed in the normal mode is lower than the rotational speed C1 of the fan 57 when the drying operation is performed in the normal mode.
[0090] When the washer-dryer 101 is in dehydration and drying mode, the silent mode switch 63 switches from normal mode to silent mode.
[0091] The owner sets the specified number of laundry machines 100 required to switch from normal mode to silent mode in the DTC 105's switch number setting unit 106a. Specifically, the owner sets the specified number based on the relationship between the number of laundry machines 100 in operation and noise levels, as stored in the noise characteristic storage unit 106b. It should be noted that in this embodiment, the owner sets the specified number to four. For example, if the owner determines that the noise level in coin laundry T is acceptable for three laundry machines 100 in operation but not for four, the owner sets the specified number to four. It should be noted that in this embodiment, a laundry machine 100 installed in coin laundry T is considered to be in operation regardless of the operating schedule.
[0092] In this case, when a new laundry machine 100 is started while three laundry machines 100 are already operating in the coin laundry T, a signal is sent from the DTC 105 to the newly started laundry machine 100, causing the silent mode switching unit 63 of the newly started laundry machine 100 to automatically switch the dehydration and drying operations in the laundry machine 100 to the silent mode and also to change the operation time of the laundry machine 100.
[0093] It should be noted that even if the noise level generated by a coin laundry T is the same, the impact of the noise may vary depending on the time of day. For example, during the noisy daytime, the noise generated by a coin laundry T may not be a problem. In contrast, during the quiet nighttime, the noise generated by a coin laundry T may become a problem. Therefore, the owner of a coin laundry T can set the same prescribed number of laundry machines regardless of the time of day, or can set prescribed numbers for multiple time periods. For example, the prescribed number of laundry machines during the daytime period can be higher than the prescribed number during the nighttime period, thereby setting different prescribed numbers for different time periods, such as during the nighttime and daytime periods.
[0094] Furthermore, many coin laundries T are located in a variety of areas. Even if the noise level generated by a coin laundromat T is the same, the impact of the noise can vary depending on the area. For example, for a coin laundromat T located in a city, the noise generated by the coin laundromat T often becomes a problem due to the dense residential areas surrounding the coin laundromat T. In contrast, for a coin laundromat T located in a rural area, the noise generated by the coin laundromat T may be less of a problem due to the sparse residential areas surrounding the coin laundromat T. On the other hand, for a coin laundromat T located in a city, the noise generated by the coin laundromat T may sometimes become less of a problem due to the noisy surroundings (due to high background noise). Conversely, it is also important to consider that for a coin laundromat T located in a rural area, the noise generated by the coin laundromat T may become a problem due to the quiet surroundings (due to low background noise). Therefore, it is preferable that the owner of a coin laundromat T set the specified number of coin laundries based on the area in which the coin laundromat T is located.
[0095] In this embodiment, when the operation of a new laundry machine 100 in the coin laundry T is started, the number of operating machines will be greater than the specified number. When the operation of each operation course in the laundry machine 100 is started (when the fee is paid and the operation of each operation course is started), the dehydration operation and drying operation included in each operation course are automatically switched to operation in the silent mode.
[0096] The noise characteristic storage unit 106b of the DTC 105 stores the relationship between the number of operating laundry machines 100 (washer-dryer 101 and dryer 102) and the noise level at that time, among the multiple laundry machines 100 (washer-dryer 101 and dryer 102) installed in the coin laundry T. Specifically, the noise characteristic storage unit 106b of the DTC 105 stores the noise level when one laundry machine 100 is operating, the noise level when two laundry machines 100 are operating, the noise level when three laundry machines 100 are operating, and so on, for n laundry machines 100 (where n is an integer between 4 and 14). The relationship between the number of operating laundry machines 100 and the noise level stored in the noise characteristic storage unit 106b can be obtained, for example, by measuring the noise level of the laundry machines 100 when they are operating in the coin laundry T. The noise level of the multiple laundry machines 100 varies depending on the operation of each laundry machine 100. For example, the noise level when the noise is the highest can be measured when the laundry machines 100 are simultaneously performing a dehydration operation or a drying operation.
[0097] Gas amount adjuster 64 controls proportional valve 48C so that the inlet temperature of the air supplied into drum 5 during the drying operation becomes, for example, 120° C. to 130° C.
[0098] Here, a flowchart showing a control procedure when the drying operation is performed in the silent mode will be described based on FIG. 7 .
[0099] <Step S1>
[0100] In step S1 , the control unit 60 starts the operation of the drum 5 and also starts the operation of the fan 57 .
[0101] <Step S2>
[0102] In step S2 , the control unit 60 opens the gas valve 48N.
[0103] <Step S3>
[0104] In step S3, the control unit 60 repeatedly determines whether the drum inlet temperature is 120°C or higher. If the control unit 60 determines that the drum inlet temperature is not 120°C or higher, the process proceeds to step S4. If the control unit 60 determines that the drum inlet temperature is 120°C or higher, the process proceeds to step S5.
[0105] <Step S4>
[0106] In step S4 , the control unit 60 increases the opening of the proportional valve 48C to increase the drum inlet temperature, and the process proceeds to step S3 .
[0107] <Step S5>
[0108] In step S5, the control unit 60 repeatedly determines whether the drum inlet temperature is 130°C or higher. If the control unit 60 determines that the drum inlet temperature is 130°C or higher, the process proceeds to step S6. If the control unit 60 determines that the drum inlet temperature is not 120°C or higher, the process proceeds to step S7.
[0109] <Step S6>
[0110] In step S6 , the control unit 60 reduces the opening of the proportional valve 48C to lower the drum inlet temperature, and the process proceeds to step S3 .
[0111] <Step S7>
[0112] In step S7, the control unit 60 determines whether the drying time has elapsed. The drying time for the drying operation is preset. In the washer-dryer 101, the drying time is set to, for example, 35 minutes in the standard and wash cycles. In the drying cycle, the drying time is set to a time corresponding to the cost. If the control unit 60 determines that the drying time has not elapsed, the process proceeds to step S3. If the control unit 60 determines that the drying time has elapsed, the process proceeds to step S8.
[0113] <Step S8>
[0114] In step S8 , the control unit 60 fully closes the gas valve 48N to terminate the drying operation.
[0115] When the washing and drying machine 101 is in a drying operation, as shown in Figure 8, hot air heated by the gas burner 48 is supplied to the drum 5. Then, the hot air dries the laundry in the drum 5, absorbs the moisture contained in the laundry, and is discharged in a wet state. During the drying operation, the drum 5 alternately rotates clockwise for 150 seconds and counterclockwise for 5 seconds, for example. As described above, when the washing machine 100 installed in a coin-operated laundry is in a drying operation, a gas burner is often used, and the air in the washing machine 100 needs to be discharged to the outside. Therefore, in order to discharge the air to the outside, the fan 57 is driven to rotate, thereby generating a loud noise.
[0116] As described above, in the washer-dryer 101 of this embodiment, when operating in silent mode during the drying operation, the speed of the fan 57 is controlled to be lower than that in normal mode. In this case, the amount of air (air volume) supplied to the drum 5 during silent mode is reduced compared to normal mode, and the inlet temperature (hot air input temperature) increases. At this time, the gas flow regulator 64 adjusts the amount of gas supplied to the gas burner 48 via the proportional valve 48C, thereby maintaining the inlet temperature at, for example, 120°C to 130°C.
[0117] The coupon issuing unit 65 issues a coupon (discount coupon) when at least one of the dehydration and drying operations is performed in silent mode. In the washer-dryer 101, when at least one of the dehydration and drying operations is performed in silent mode, as described later, the operating time is longer than when both are performed in normal mode. Therefore, users who have performed at least one of the dehydration and drying operations in silent mode are issued a coupon that can be used the next time they visit the coin laundry T. In other words, coupons are issued to users who cooperate in reducing the noise level of the coin laundry T. The coupons are printed by the coupon printing device 68, and the users take them home. Thus, by issuing coupons only when the washer-dryer 101 is used in silent mode, users can enjoy cost-effective use of their laundry, even though the operating time is extended. Furthermore, by using information in advertising, such as "coupons will be issued when using silent mode," the number of visitors to the coin laundry T can be increased. In this embodiment, the fee does not change depending on whether the laundry machine 100 is operated in normal mode or in silent mode, so the sales of the coin laundry T do not change. In contrast, although coupons are issued when the laundry machine 100 is operated in silent mode, these coupons are redeemable the next time the coin laundry T visits, increasing repeat customers and benefiting the owner of the coin laundry T. Therefore, compared to simply reducing the cost of using the laundry machine 100, providing coupons is beneficial to the owner as long as repeat customers are present.
[0118] An operation course selection button 66a for the user to select an operation course is provided on the operation panel 66. The user of the washer-dryer 101 can select any one of the standard course, the washing course, and the drying course by operating the operation course selection button 66a.
[0119] Next, the operation of the washer-dryer 101 will be described based on FIG. 9 .
[0120] (Standard Process)
[0121] The standard process refers to the process of washing, rinsing, dehydration and drying.
[0122] (1) As shown in FIG. 9( a ), the operation time of the standard course is, for example, 60 minutes when both the dehydration operation and the drying operation are performed in the normal mode, and the usage fee is, for example, 1,200 yen.
[0123] (2) When both the dehydration operation and the drying operation are performed in the silent mode, the operation time of the standard course is, for example, (60+α+β) minutes, and the usage fee is, for example, 1200 yen, where α and β are positive numbers.
[0124] As described above, when the number of operating laundry machines 100 reaches a predetermined number, when the standard course operation of each laundry machine 100 is started thereafter, both the dehydration operation and the drying operation will automatically switch to operation in the silent mode. The aforementioned "α minutes" is the operating time that is extended compared to the operating time of the dehydration operation in the normal mode when the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode. The aforementioned "β minutes" is the operating time that is extended compared to the operating time of the drying operation in the normal mode when the drying operation is performed in the silent mode. Here, when the operating time of the dehydration operation in the normal mode is compared with the operating time of the drying operation in the normal mode, the operating time of the drying operation is longer. Therefore, the extended time "β minutes" of the drying operation is set to a time longer than the extended time "α minutes" of the dehydration operation.
[0125] Thus, in the standard process of the washer-dryer 101, when both the dehydration operation and the drying operation are performed in silent mode, the rotation speed of the drum 5 during the dehydration operation is lower than that of the drum 5 during the normal mode, thereby reducing the dehydration capacity during the dehydration operation. Moreover, the rotation speed of the fan 57 during the drying operation is lower than that of the fan 57 during the normal mode, thereby reducing the drying capacity during the drying operation. Therefore, the dehydration operation time and the drying operation time are automatically extended. Therefore, the operation time of the standard process is (α+β) minutes longer than the normal 60 minutes, namely (60+α+β) minutes.
[0126] (Washing process)
[0127] The washing process refers to the process of cleaning, rinsing and dehydration.
[0128] (1) As shown in FIG. 9( b ), the operation time of the washing course is, for example, 30 minutes when the dehydration operation is performed in the normal mode, and the usage fee is, for example, 800 yen.
[0129] (2) When the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode, the operation time of the washing course is, for example, (30+α) minutes, and the usage fee is, for example, 800 yen, where α is a positive number.
[0130] Thus, during the washing process of the washer-dryer 101, when the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode, the rotation speed of the drum 5 during the dehydration operation is lower than that of the drum 5 in the normal mode, and the dehydration capacity during the dehydration operation is reduced. Therefore, the dehydration operation time is automatically extended. Therefore, the operation time of the standard process is longer than the normal 30 minutes by α minutes, becoming (30 + α) minutes.
[0131] (Drying process)
[0132] The drying process is a process that only performs drying operation.
[0133] (1) As shown in FIG. 9( c ), the operation time of the drying course is, for example, 10 minutes when the drying operation is performed in the normal mode, and the usage fee is, for example, 100 yen.
[0134] (2) When the drying operation is performed in the silent mode, the operation time of the drying course is, for example, (10+γ) minutes, and the usage fee is, for example, 100 yen, where γ is a positive number.
[0135] It should be noted that when the drying process is selected in the normal mode drying operation in washer-dryer 101, similar to dryer 102, the drying operation will continue until the operating time corresponding to the amount of money invested has elapsed. That is, if the normal mode fee is 10 minutes / 100 yen, for example, if 200 yen is invested, the drying operation will continue for 20 minutes, and if 300 yen is invested, the drying operation will continue for 30 minutes. Furthermore, if the drying process is selected and the silent mode drying operation is performed, if the normal mode fee is 10 minutes / 100 yen, for example, if 200 yen is invested, the drying operation will continue for (20 + 2γ) minutes, and if 300 yen is invested, the drying operation will continue for (30 + 3γ) minutes.
[0136] Thus, during the drying process of the washer-dryer 101, when the silent mode is selected, the speed of the fan 57 during the drying process is lower than that of the fan 57 in the normal mode, reducing the drying efficiency. Therefore, the drying time is automatically extended. Therefore, the standard process operation time is γ minutes longer than the normal 10 minutes, totaling (10 + γ) minutes. Similarly, when the washer-dryer 101 selects the drying process and performs the silent mode drying process, the drying process continues until the time corresponding to the amount of money invested has elapsed.
[0137] Next, the discount amount of the coupon issued when the washer-dryer 101 is operated in the silent mode will be described based on FIG. 10 .
[0138] (Standard Process)
[0139] In the standard cycle of the washer-dryer 101, when both the dehydration and drying operations are performed in silent mode, the operation time is extended compared to the case of both the dehydration and drying operations in standard mode. Therefore, as shown in FIG10(a), the washer-dryer 101 issues a coupon for a 300 yen discount (100 yen discount for the dehydration operation + 200 yen discount for the drying operation) in order to provide a discount corresponding to the length of the extended operation time.
[0140] (Washing process)
[0141] During the washing process of the washer-dryer 101, when the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode, the operation time is extended compared to the case of the dehydration operation in the standard mode. Therefore, as shown in Figure 10 (b), the washer-dryer 1 issues a coupon for a 100 yen discount in order to provide a discount corresponding to the length of the extended time.
[0142] (Drying process)
[0143] During the drying process of the washer-dryer 101, when the drying operation is performed in silent mode, the operation time is extended compared to the case of the drying operation in standard mode. Therefore, as shown in FIG10(c), the washer-dryer 1 issues a coupon for a discount of 30 yen per 100 yen in order to provide a discount corresponding to the length of the extended drying time.
[0144] The control process of the washer-dryer 101 will be described based on FIG. 11 to FIG. 13 .
[0145] <Step S101>
[0146] As shown in FIG11 , in step S101, the control unit 60 determines whether the standard course has been selected as the operating course and whether the fee has been paid. If the control unit 60 determines that the standard course has been selected, the process proceeds to step S102. If the control unit 60 determines that the standard course has not been selected, the process proceeds to step S106 in the flowchart of FIG12 .
[0147] <Step S102>
[0148] In step S102, the DTC 105 determines whether the number of laundry machines in operation in the coin laundry T is four or more. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is not four or more, the process proceeds to step S103. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is four or more, the process proceeds to step S104.
[0149] <Step S103>
[0150] In step S103, the control unit 60 performs a standard course operation, and executes both the dehydration operation and the drying operation included in the standard course in a normal mode. Afterwards, when the standard course operation is completed, the control unit 60 ends the operation.
[0151] <Step S104>
[0152] In step S104, the control unit 60 performs a standard course operation, executing both the dehydration operation and the drying operation included in the standard course in a silent mode. Afterwards, when the standard course operation is completed, the control unit 60 proceeds to step S105.
[0153] <Step S105>
[0154] In step S105 , the control unit 60 prints a coupon using the coupon printing device 66 , issues a coupon with a discount of 300 yen, and ends the operation.
[0155] <Step S106>
[0156] As shown in FIG12 , in step S106, the control unit 60 determines whether a washing course has been selected as the operation course and whether a fee has been paid. If the control unit 60 determines that a washing course has been selected, the process proceeds to step S107. If the control unit 60 determines that a washing course has not been selected, the process proceeds to step S111 of the flowchart in FIG13 .
[0157] <Step S107>
[0158] In step S107, the DTC 105 determines whether the number of laundry machines in operation in the coin laundry T is four or more. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is not four or more, the process proceeds to step S108. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is four or more, the process proceeds to step S109.
[0159] <Step S108>
[0160] In step S108, the control unit 60 performs a washing course operation and executes a dehydration operation included in the washing course in a normal mode. Afterwards, when the washing course operation is completed, the control unit 60 ends the operation.
[0161] <Step S109>
[0162] In step S109, the control unit 60 performs a washing course and executes a dehydration operation included in the washing course in a silent mode. After the washing course is completed, the control unit 60 proceeds to step S110.
[0163] <Step S110>
[0164] In step S110 , the control unit 60 prints a coupon using the coupon printing device 66 , issues a coupon with a discount of 100 yen, and ends the operation.
[0165] <Step S111>
[0166] As shown in FIG13 , in step S111, the control unit 60 determines whether a drying course has been selected as the operation course and whether a fee has been paid. If the control unit 60 determines that the drying course has been selected, the process proceeds to step S112. If the control unit 60 determines that the drying course has not been selected, the process proceeds to step S101 of the flowchart in FIG11 .
[0167] <Step S112>
[0168] In step S112, the DTC 105 determines whether the number of laundry machines in operation in the coin laundry T is four or more. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is not four or more, the process proceeds to step S113. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is four or more, the process proceeds to step S114.
[0169] <Step S113>
[0170] In step S113, the control unit 60 performs a drying operation in a normal mode for an operation time corresponding to the amount of money input. Thereafter, when the operation of the drying course is completed, the control unit 60 ends the operation.
[0171] <Step S114>
[0172] In step S114, the control unit 60 performs a drying operation in a silent mode for an operation time corresponding to the amount of money put in. After that, when the operation of the drying course is completed, the control unit 60 proceeds to step S115.
[0173] <Step S115>
[0174] In step S115 , the control unit 60 prints a coupon using the coupon printing device 66 , issues a coupon with a discount of 30 yen×the deposited amount / 100 yen, and ends the operation.
[0175] It should be noted that, as described above, the washer-dryer 101 installed in the coin laundry T can operate in a silent mode, which is quieter than the normal mode. Similarly, the dryer 102 installed in the coin laundry T can also operate in a silent mode, which is quieter than the normal mode. The drying operations of the dryer 102 in the normal and silent modes are similar to those when the drying course is selected in the washer-dryer 101, and therefore, detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0176] As described above, the laundry system T101 of this embodiment includes: multiple laundry machines 100 installed in a coin-operated laundry shop T; and a DTC 105 serving as a controller for controlling the multiple laundry machines 100. The laundry machines 100 can perform operation in a normal mode and a silent mode that is quieter than the normal mode for at least one of a dehydration operation and a drying operation. For each of the multiple laundry machines 100, when specified conditions are met, the DTC 105 switches the operation of the laundry machines 100 from the normal mode to the silent mode.
[0177] Thus, in the coin laundry T, when predetermined conditions are met, the operation of the laundry equipment 100 is switched to a quieter mode than the normal mode. This can prevent noise complaints from being filed against the owner of the coin laundry T.
[0178] In the laundry system T101 of the present embodiment, the predetermined condition is a state in which the number of operating laundry machines 100 in the coin laundry T is equal to or greater than a predetermined number.
[0179] In this manner, when many laundry machines 100 are simultaneously operated in the coin laundry T, the noise generated in the coin laundry T becomes louder, and thus the noise at this time can be reduced.
[0180] In the laundry system T101 of this embodiment, the controller DTC 105 stores the relationship between the number of laundry machines 100 operating and the noise level at that time, and the predetermined number is set based on the relationship.
[0181] In this way, the owner of the coin laundry T can appropriately set the predetermined number of laundry machines 100 to be switched to the silent mode, which is quieter than the normal mode, based on the relationship between the number of operating laundry machines 100 and the noise level at that time.
[0182] In the laundry system T101 of this embodiment, the predetermined number of laundry machines may be set to different numbers for two different time periods.
[0183] Thus, for example, even the same noise level will have different effects on residents living near the coin laundry during the quiet time period at night and the noisy time period during the day. Therefore, by changing the specified number of machines to be switched to the silent mode, which is quieter than the normal mode, according to the time period, the noise generated in the coin laundry can be appropriately suppressed.
[0184] In the laundry system T101 of the present embodiment, different numbers of coin laundries may be set for different locations.
[0185] Thus, for example, even the same level of noise can have different effects on residents living near coin laundries in urban and rural areas. Therefore, by varying the specified number of machines to be switched to quieter mode (quieter than normal mode) depending on the region, noise generated in coin laundries can be appropriately suppressed.
[0186] (Second embodiment)
[0187] The laundry system T201 of this embodiment differs primarily from the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment in the method for switching between normal mode and quiet mode. It should be noted that detailed descriptions of the components of the laundry system T201 of this embodiment that are identical to those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment will be omitted.
[0188] In the laundry system T201 of this embodiment, the washer-dryer 103 includes a mode switch button 66b and a display unit 66, as shown in Figure 14 . Therefore, by operating the mode switch button 66b, the user can select whether to operate the washer-dryer 103 in normal mode or silent mode, respectively, when performing a spin cycle or a dry cycle. Therefore, a user visiting the coin laundry T can, for example, select normal mode when in a hurry and silent mode when they have more time. This improves user convenience.
[0189] That is, when the washer-dryer 103 is operating under the standard process, the user can operate the mode switching button 66b to select the silent mode for both the dehydration and drying operations, the silent mode for either operation, or the normal mode for both (not for both). Therefore, users visiting the coin laundry T can choose to use the silent mode for both the dehydration and drying operations, the silent mode for only the dehydration operation, or the silent mode for only the drying operation, depending on their level of urgency or the amount of time available.
[0190] Furthermore, when the washer-dryer 103 is operating in a washing course, the user can select whether to operate in a normal mode or a silent mode for the dehydration operation by operating the mode switching button 66b.
[0191] Furthermore, when the washer-dryer 103 is operating in a drying course, the user can select whether to operate in a normal mode or a silent mode for the drying operation by operating the mode switching button 66b.
[0192] In the washer-dryer 103 of this embodiment, when operation in silent mode is selected by operating the mode switching button 66b, the silent mode switching unit 63 switches the dehydration operation or drying operation in which silent mode is selected to operation in silent mode, and switches the fee system of the washer-dryer 101 (including the issuance of coupons).
[0193] It should be noted that in the laundry system T201 of this embodiment, similar to the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment, the owner also sets the specified number of laundry machines for switching from normal mode to silent mode in the DTC 105's switchable number setting unit 106b. It should be noted that in this embodiment, the owner sets the specified number to four laundry machines. Therefore, if a user wishes to select normal mode operation for both the dehydration and drying operations of the washer-dryer 103, and the number of laundry machines 100 operating in the coin laundry T is not greater than the specified number, the user can select normal mode operation. In contrast, if a user wishes to select normal mode operation for both the dehydration and drying operations of the washer-dryer 103, and the number of laundry machines 100 operating in the coin laundry T is greater than the specified number, the user cannot select normal mode operation. In this case, the message "Normal mode cannot be selected" will be displayed on the display unit 66c, and the operation of the washer-dryer 103 can only be started when the user selects operation in the silent mode.
[0194] Next, the operation of the washer-dryer 103 will be described based on FIG. 15 .
[0195] (Standard Process)
[0196] The standard process refers to the process of washing, rinsing, dehydration and drying.
[0197] (1) As shown in FIG. 15( a ), the operation time of the standard course is, for example, 60 minutes when both the dehydration operation and the drying operation are performed in the normal mode, and the usage fee is, for example, 1,200 yen.
[0198] (2) When the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode and the drying operation is performed in the normal mode, the operation time of the standard course is, for example, (60+α) minutes, and the usage fee is, for example, 1200 yen, where α is a positive number.
[0199] (3) When the dehydration operation is performed in the normal mode and the drying operation is performed in the silent mode, the operation time of the standard course is, for example, (60+β) minutes, and the usage fee is, for example, 1200 yen, where β is a positive number.
[0200] (4) When both the dehydration operation and the drying operation are performed in the silent mode, the operation time of the standard course is, for example, (60+α+β) minutes, and the usage fee is, for example, 1,200 yen.
[0201] Thus, in the standard cycle of the washer-dryer 101, when the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode and the drying operation is performed in the normal mode, the rotation speed of the drum 5 during the dehydration operation is lower than the rotation speed of the drum 5 in the normal mode, and the dehydration capacity during the dehydration operation is reduced. Therefore, the dehydration operation time is automatically extended, and the operation time of the standard cycle is longer than the normal 60 minutes by α minutes, becoming (60 + α) minutes.
[0202] Similarly, in the standard cycle of the washer-dryer 1, when the dehydration operation is in normal mode and the drying operation is in silent mode, the speed of the fan 57 during the drying and dehydration operation is lower than the speed of the fan 57 during the normal mode, and the drying capacity during the drying operation is reduced. Therefore, the drying operation time is automatically extended, and the operation time of the standard cycle is longer than the normal 60 minutes by β minutes, that is, (60 + β) minutes.
[0203] Similarly, in the standard cycle of washer-dryer 1, when both the dehydration and drying operations are performed in silent mode, the rotation speed of drum 5 during the dehydration operation is lower than that of drum 5 during normal mode, reducing the dehydration capacity during the dehydration operation. Furthermore, the rotation speed of fan 57 during the drying and dehydration operation is lower than that of fan 57 during normal mode, reducing the drying capacity during the drying operation. Therefore, the dehydration and drying operation times are automatically extended, and the standard cycle operation time is (α+β) minutes longer than the normal 60 minutes, becoming (60+α+β) minutes.
[0204] (Washing process) and (Drying process)
[0205] The washing course and the drying course are shown in FIG. 15( b ) and FIG. 15 ( c ). Since they are the same as those of the washer-dryer 101 of the first embodiment, their description will be omitted.
[0206] Next, the discount amount of the coupon issued when the washer-dryer 103 is operated in the silent mode will be described based on FIG. 16 .
[0207] (Standard Process)
[0208] As shown in FIG16 (a), in the standard process of the washer-dryer 103, when only the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode, the operation time is extended compared to the case of the dehydration operation in the standard mode. Therefore, the washer-dryer 103 issues a coupon for a 100 yen discount in order to provide a discount corresponding to the length of the extended time.
[0209] Furthermore, in the standard cycle of the washer-dryer 103, when only the drying operation is performed in silent mode, the operating time is extended compared to the case of the drying operation in standard mode. Therefore, the washer-dryer 103 issues a coupon for a 200 yen discount to provide a discount corresponding to the length of the extended time. In the standard cycle of the washer-dryer 103 of this embodiment, the extended drying time is longer than the extended spin time. Therefore, the extended drying time (β minutes) is set to be longer than the extended spin time (α minutes). This results in a greater discount (200 yen) when only the drying operation is performed in silent mode than when only the spin operation is performed in silent mode (100 yen).
[0210] Furthermore, in the standard cycle of the washer-dryer 103, when both the dehydration and drying operations are performed in silent mode, the operation time is extended compared to when both the dehydration and drying operations are performed in standard mode. Therefore, the washer-dryer 103 issues a coupon for a 300 yen discount (100 yen discount for the dehydration operation + 200 yen discount for the drying operation) as a discount corresponding to the length of the extended operation time.
[0211] (Washing process) and (Drying process)
[0212] The washing course and the drying course are shown in FIG. 16( b ) and FIG. 16 ( c ). Since they are the same as those of the washer-dryer 101 of the first embodiment, their description will be omitted.
[0213] The operation of the washer-dryer 103 will be described based on FIG. 17 to FIG. 19 .
[0214] <Step S201>
[0215] As shown in FIG17 , in step S201, the control unit 60 determines whether the standard course has been selected as the operating course and whether the fee has been paid. If the control unit 60 determines that the standard course has been selected, the process proceeds to step S202. If the control unit 60 determines that the standard course has not been selected, the process proceeds to step S216 of the flowchart in FIG18 .
[0216] <Step S202>
[0217] In step S202, the control unit 60 determines whether the normal mode is selected for the dehydration operation. If the control unit 60 determines that the normal mode is selected for the dehydration operation, the process proceeds to step S203. If the control unit 60 determines that the normal mode is not selected for the dehydration operation, the process proceeds to step S209.
[0218] <Step S203>
[0219] In step S203, the DTC 105 determines whether the number of laundry machines operating in the coin laundry T is four or more. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines operating is four or more, the process proceeds to step S204. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines operating is not four or more, the process proceeds to step S205.
[0220] <Step S204>
[0221] In step S204 , the control unit 60 displays on the display unit 66 c that the normal mode cannot be selected for the dehydration operation, and proceeds to step S202 .
[0222] <Step S205>
[0223] In step S205, the control unit 60 determines whether the silent mode is selected for the drying operation. If the control unit 60 determines that the silent mode is not selected for the drying operation, the process proceeds to step S206. If the control unit 60 determines that the silent mode is selected for the drying operation, the process proceeds to step S207.
[0224] <Step S206>
[0225] In step S206, the control unit 60 performs the standard course operation, and executes both the dehydration operation and the drying operation included in the standard course in a normal mode. Afterwards, when the standard course operation is completed, the control unit 60 ends the operation.
[0226] <Step S207>
[0227] In step S207, the control unit 60 performs a standard course operation, executes the dehydration operation included in the standard course in the normal mode, and executes the drying operation included in the standard course in the silent mode. After that, when the standard course operation ends, the control unit 60 proceeds to step S208.
[0228] <Step S208>
[0229] In step S208 , the control unit 60 prints a coupon using the coupon printing device 66 , issues a coupon with a discount of 200 yen, and ends the operation.
[0230] <Step S209>
[0231] If the control unit 60 determines in step S202 that the quiet mode is selected for the dehydration operation, the control unit 60 determines in step S209 whether the normal mode is selected for the drying operation. If the control unit 60 determines that the normal mode is selected for the drying operation, the process proceeds to step S210. If the control unit 60 determines that the quiet mode is selected for the drying operation, the process proceeds to step S214.
[0232] <Step S210>
[0233] In step S210, the DTC 105 determines whether the number of laundry machines in operation in the coin laundry T is four or more. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is four or more, the process proceeds to step S211. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is not four or more, the process proceeds to step S212.
[0234] <Step S211>
[0235] In step S211 , the control unit 60 displays on the display unit 66 c that the normal mode cannot be selected for the drying operation, and the process proceeds to step S209 .
[0236] <Step S212>
[0237] In step S212, the control unit 60 performs the standard course operation, executes the dehydration operation included in the standard course in the silent mode, and executes the drying operation included in the standard course in the normal mode. Thereafter, the process proceeds to step S213.
[0238] <Step S213>

[0240] <Step S214>
[0241] In step S214, the control unit 60 performs the standard course operation, executing both the dehydration operation and the drying operation included in the standard course in the silent mode. Thereafter, the process proceeds to step S215.
[0242] <Step S215>
[0243] In step S215 , the control unit 60 prints a coupon using the coupon printing device 66 , issues a coupon for a 300 yen discount (100 yen discount for dehydration operation + 200 yen discount for drying operation), and ends the operation.
[0244] <Step S216>
[0245] As shown in FIG18 , in step S216, the control unit 60 determines whether a washing course has been selected as the operation course and whether a fee has been paid. If the control unit 60 determines that a washing course has been selected, the process proceeds to step S217. If the control unit 60 determines that a washing course has not been selected, the process proceeds to step S223 of the flowchart in FIG19 .
[0246] <Step S217>
[0247] In step S217, the control unit 60 determines whether the normal mode is selected for the dehydration operation. If the control unit 60 determines that the normal mode is selected for the dehydration operation, the process proceeds to step S218. If the control unit 60 determines that the normal mode is not selected for the dehydration operation, the process proceeds to step S221.
[0248] <Step S218>
[0249] In step S218, the DTC 105 determines whether the number of laundry machines in operation in the coin laundry T is four or more. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is four or more, the process proceeds to step S219. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is not four or more, the process proceeds to step S220.
[0250] <Step S219>
[0251] In step S219 , the control unit 60 displays on the display unit 66 c that the normal mode cannot be selected for the drying operation, and the process proceeds to step S217 .
[0252] <Step S220>
[0253] In step S220, the control unit 60 performs a washing course operation and executes a dehydration operation included in the washing course in a normal mode. Afterwards, when the washing course operation is completed, the control unit 60 ends the operation.
[0254] <Step S221>
[0255] In step S221, the control unit 60 performs a washing course and executes a dehydration operation included in the washing course in a silent mode.
[0256] <Step S222>
[0257] In step S222, the control unit 60 prints a coupon using the coupon printing device 66, issues a coupon with a discount of 100 yen, and ends the operation.
[0258] <Step S223>
[0259] As shown in FIG19 , in step S223, the control unit 60 determines whether a drying course has been selected as an operation course and whether a fee has been paid. If the control unit 60 determines that a drying course has been selected, the process proceeds to step S224. If the control unit 60 determines that a washing course has not been selected, the process proceeds to step S201 of the flowchart in FIG17 .
[0260] <Step S224>
[0261] In step S224, the control unit 60 determines whether the normal mode is selected for the drying operation. If the control unit 60 determines that the normal mode is selected for the drying operation, the process proceeds to step S225. If the control unit 60 determines that the normal mode is not selected for the drying operation, the process proceeds to step S228.
[0262] <Step S225>
[0263] In step S225, the DTC 105 determines whether the number of laundry machines in operation in the coin laundry T is four or more. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is four or more, the process proceeds to step S226. If the DTC 105 determines that the number of laundry machines in operation is not four or more, the process proceeds to step S227.
[0264] <Step S226>
[0265] In step S226 , the control unit 60 displays that the normal mode cannot be selected for the drying operation, and proceeds to step S224 .

[0270] <Step S229>
[0271] In step S229 , the control unit 60 prints a coupon using the coupon printing device 66 , issues a coupon with a discount of 30 yen × the deposited amount / 100 yen, and ends the operation.
[0272] In the laundry system T201 of this embodiment, the same effects as those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0273] In the laundry system T201 of this embodiment, a mode switching button 66b is provided in the washer-dryer 103. The mode switching button 66b serves as a mode switching unit to switch between normal mode and silent mode for at least one of the dehydration operation and the drying operation.
[0274] With this arrangement, the user of the washer-dryer 103 can choose whether to perform the dehydration operation and the drying operation in the normal mode or in the silent mode.
[0275] (Third embodiment)
[0276] The laundry system T301 of this embodiment differs primarily from the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment in the method for switching between normal mode and quiet mode. It should be noted that detailed descriptions of the components of the laundry system T301 of this embodiment that are identical to those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment will be omitted.
[0277] As shown in Figure 20 , the laundry system T301 of this embodiment is equipped with a noise measuring device 108, which is connected to the DTC 105 installed in the coin laundry T. The noise measuring device 108 measures the level of noise generated in the coin laundry T. In the coin laundry T, as shown in Figure 21 , the exhaust duct 160 connected to the washer-dryer 101 is connected to a common exhaust duct 161, and the air within the washing machine body 2 is discharged to the outside through the exhaust duct 160 and the common exhaust duct 161. The loudest noise in the washer-dryer 101 is the exhaust sound during the drying operation, so the noise measuring device 108 is installed near the exhaust port 161a of the common exhaust duct 161. It should be noted that the location of the noise measuring device 108 in the coin laundry T can be arbitrarily changed.
[0278] 21 shows a single washer-dryer 101 , but multiple laundry equipment 100 (washer-dryer 101 and dryer 102 ) installed in a coin laundry T are connected to a common exhaust pipe 161 via exhaust pipes 160 .
[0279] The DTC 105 includes a noise threshold setting unit 106c. The noise threshold setting unit 106c stores the owner's noise threshold for switching from normal mode to quiet mode. Specifically, the owner stores the threshold as the upper limit of the noise level permitted when multiple laundry machines 100 in the coin laundry T are operating simultaneously, causing the noise to increase.
[0280] Therefore, in the laundry system T301 of this embodiment, when the noise level measured by noise measuring device 108 exceeds the threshold value stored in noise threshold setting unit 106c due to the simultaneous operation of multiple laundry machines 100 in coin laundry T, a signal is transmitted from DTC 105 to the multiple laundry machines 100 installed in coin laundry T, causing the quiet mode switching unit 63 of each laundry machine 100 to automatically switch the dehydration and drying operations in each laundry machine 100 to quiet mode and also switching the fee system of the laundry machines 100. In this embodiment, when the noise level measured by noise measuring device 108 exceeds the threshold value stored in noise threshold setting unit 106c, all currently operating laundry machines 100 are automatically switched to quiet mode.
[0281] Furthermore, many coin laundries T are located in a variety of areas. On the other hand, for a coin laundromat T located in a city, the noise generated by the coin laundromat T may sometimes be less of a problem due to the noisy surroundings (due to high background noise). In contrast, for a coin laundromat T located in a rural area, the noise generated by the coin laundromat T may sometimes be a problem due to the quiet surroundings (due to low background noise). Therefore, it is preferable that the owner of a coin laundromat T set the specified number of coin laundries T based on the area in which the coin laundromat T is located.
[0282] Alternatively, if the number of laundry machines 100 in operation increases and the noise level measured by noise measuring device 108 approaches a threshold, the operation may be switched to the quiet mode starting with newly started laundry machines 100. Specifically, if the noise level measured by noise measuring device 108 approaches the threshold, it may be considered that the noise level measured by noise measuring device 108 will exceed the threshold when a new laundry machine 100 is started, and therefore the operation may be switched to the quiet mode starting with the new laundry machine 100 starting.
[0283] It should be noted that the DTC 105 of the coin-operated laundry T may also learn the relationship between the level of noise measured by the noise measuring device 108 and the number of laundry machines 100 in operation at that time and the type of operation of the laundry machines 100 (for example, dehydration operation, drying operation, etc.) for each store. Thus, without measuring the noise through the noise measuring device 108, the operation is switched to the silent mode based on the number of laundry machines 100 in operation and the type of operation of the laundry machines 100.
[0284] In the laundry system T301 of this embodiment, the same effects as those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0285] In the laundry system T301 of this embodiment, noise measuring means, namely noise measuring device 108, is installed in the coin laundry T. The predetermined condition is that the noise level measured by noise measuring device 108 exceeds a preset threshold.
[0286] In this case, based on the measurement result of the noise generated in the coin laundry T, the operation can be appropriately switched to the silent mode which is quieter than the normal mode.
[0287] In the laundry system T301 of this embodiment, the laundry device 100 includes: a washing machine body 2 that accommodates a drum 5; exhaust pipes 160 and 161 that connect the washing machine body 2 to the outside; and a fan 57 that discharges the air in the washing machine body 2 to the outside through the exhaust pipes 160 and 161. The noise measuring unit, i.e., the noise measuring device 108, is arranged near the exhaust port 161a of the exhaust pipe 161.
[0288] In this case, the noise measuring device 108 is installed near the exhaust port 161a of the exhaust duct 161 which generates loud noise during the drying operation of the laundry machine 100, thereby enabling the noise generated in the coin laundry T to be measured appropriately.
[0289] (Fourth embodiment)
[0290] The laundry system T401 of this embodiment differs primarily from the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment in the method for switching between normal mode and quiet mode. It should be noted that detailed descriptions of the components of the laundry system T401 of this embodiment that are identical to those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment will be omitted.
[0291] In the laundry system T401 of this embodiment, a plurality of laundry machines 100 are installed in a coin laundry T, and the plurality of laundry machines 100 are connected to a DTC 105. Therefore, the DTC 105 can detect whether the plurality of laundry machines 100 are operating and what type of operation is being performed based on signals transmitted from the plurality of laundry machines 100.
[0292] As shown in FIG. 22 , in the laundry system T401 of the present embodiment, the DTC 105 includes a switching number setting unit 106 a .
[0293] The owner sets the specified number of laundry machines 100 in the coin laundry T for switching operation modes when the laundry machines 100 are operating simultaneously in the dehydration mode. Specifically, the owner sets the specified number of laundry machines if he or she determines that the noise level from the specified number of laundry machines 100 operating simultaneously in the dehydration mode is unacceptable. Note that in this embodiment, the owner sets the specified number to four laundry machines. Therefore, if a new laundry machine 100 is started while three are already operating in the coin laundry T, a message is sent from the DTC 105 to the newly started laundry machine 100, causing the newly started laundry machine 100 to operate in the dehydration mode in the quiet mode. It should be noted that in this embodiment, when the laundry machine 100 is newly put into operation in the coin-operated laundry shop T, the dehydration operation of a specified number of washer-dryers 101 will be simultaneously running. When the operation under each operation process in the laundry machine 100 is newly started (when the fee is paid and the operation under each operation process is started), the dehydration operation included in each operation process is switched to operation in silent mode.
[0294] For example, as shown in FIG. 23 , a case will be described where the washer-dryer A4 newly starts operating under the standard course while the three washer-dryers A1 , A2 , and A3 are operating under the standard course.
[0295] Assume that washer-dryer A1 starts operating at time t1, washer-dryer A2 starts operating at time t2, and washer-dryer A3 starts operating at time t3. During standard operation, the washing, rinsing, dehydrating, and drying operations are performed sequentially, with each operation time pre-set. Thus, the washing, rinsing, dehydrating, and drying operations are performed according to the pre-set operation time, which is referred to as "normal operation mode." The drying operation time is set to be longer than the washing, rinsing, and dehydrating operations.
[0296] If the three washer-dryers A1, A2, and A3 are already operating and the washer-dryer A4 starts operating at time t4, it is assumed that if washer-dryer A4 is operated in the normal mode, the four washer-dryers A1-A4 will simultaneously perform dehydration operations during the time period N1 from time t5 to t6, and thus the noise generated in the coin laundry T will become very loud. Therefore, in the laundry system T401 of this embodiment, the dehydration operation of the newly started washer-dryer A4 is switched to the silent mode.
[0297] In the laundry system T401 of this embodiment, the same effects as those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0298] In the laundry system T401 of this embodiment, the predetermined condition is that the number of laundry machines 100 in the coin laundry T operating in the dehydration mode is equal to or greater than a predetermined number.
[0299] In this case, when the vibration sound during the dehydration operation of the laundry machine 100 is a major cause of the noise generated in the coin laundry T, the noise generated in the coin laundry T can be effectively reduced.
[0300] (Modification of the Fourth Embodiment)
[0301] In the laundry system T401 of the fourth embodiment, when multiple laundry appliances are simultaneously performing dehydration operations, the dehydration operation is switched to a silent mode. In contrast, in the laundry system T401a of this variation, when multiple laundry appliances are simultaneously performing drying operations, the drying operation is switched to a silent mode. It should be noted that in the laundry system T401a of this variation, detailed descriptions of components that are identical to those of the laundry system T401 of the fourth embodiment will be omitted.
[0302] In the laundry system T401a of this modification, the DTC 105 includes a switching number setting unit 106a.
[0303] The switching number setting unit 106a is configured by the owner to set a predetermined number of laundry machines 100 for switching operation modes when the laundry machines 100 in the coin laundry T are operating simultaneously in the drying mode. Specifically, the owner sets this predetermined number of laundry machines if he or she determines that the noise level from the predetermined number of laundry machines 100 operating simultaneously in the drying mode is unacceptable. Note that in this embodiment, the owner sets the predetermined number of laundry machines to four. Therefore, if a new laundry machine 100 is started while three are already operating in the coin laundry T, a message is sent from the DTC 105 to the newly started laundry machine 100, causing the newly started laundry machine 100 to operate in the quiet mode during the drying mode. It should be noted that in this embodiment, when the laundry machine 100 is newly put into operation in the coin-operated laundry T, the drying operations of a specified number of washer-dryers 101 are simultaneously running. When the operation under each operation process in the laundry machine 100 is newly started (when the fee is paid and the operation under each operation process is started), the drying operation included in each operation process is switched to operation in silent mode.
[0304] For example, as shown in FIG. 24 , a case will be described in which the washer-dryer A4 newly starts operating under the standard course while the three washer-dryers A1 , A2 , and A3 are operating under the standard course.
[0305] Assume that washer-dryer A1 starts operating at time t1, washer-dryer A2 starts operating at time t2, and washer-dryer A3 starts operating at time t3.
[0306] If the three washer-dryers A1, A2, and A3 are already operating and the washer-dryer A4 starts operating at time t4, it is assumed that if washer-dryer A4 is operated in the normal mode, the four washer-dryers A1-A4 will simultaneously perform drying operations during the time period N1 from time t5 to t6, resulting in a very high noise level in the coin laundry T. Therefore, in the laundry system T401a of this modified example, the drying operation of the newly started washer-dryer A4 is switched to silent mode.
[0307] In the laundry system T401a of this modification, the same effects as those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0308] In the laundry system T401a of this modification, the predetermined condition is that the number of laundry machines 100 operating in the drying operation in the coin laundry T is equal to or greater than a predetermined number.
[0309] In this case, when the main cause of the noise generated in the coin laundry T is the exhaust sound during the drying operation of the laundry machine 100, the noise generated in the coin laundry T can be effectively reduced.
[0310] (Fifth embodiment)
[0311] The laundry system T501 of this embodiment differs primarily from the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment in that, while in laundry system T101, multiple laundry appliances operate in silent mode simultaneously, in laundry system T501, the timing of their dehydration operations is staggered when multiple laundry appliances are simultaneously dehydrating. It should be noted that detailed descriptions of components of the laundry system T501 of this embodiment that are identical to those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment are omitted. FIG. 25 illustrates a washer-dryer 101 capable of operating in silent mode for both dehydration and drying operations, similar to the first embodiment. However, in the laundry system T501 of this embodiment, the laundry appliances 100 may not necessarily be capable of operating in silent mode for both dehydration and drying operations.
[0312] In the laundry system T501 of this embodiment, a plurality of laundry machines 100 are installed in a coin laundry T, and the plurality of laundry machines 100 are connected to a DTC 105. Therefore, the DTC 105 can detect whether the plurality of laundry machines 100 are operating and what type of operation is being performed based on signals transmitted from the plurality of laundry machines 100.
[0313] As shown in FIG. 25 , in the laundry system T501 of the present embodiment, the DTC 105 includes a switching number setting unit 506 a and an operation mode changing unit 506 b .
[0314] The switching number setting unit 506a sets the specified number of laundry machines 100 in the coin laundry T that must switch operating modes when the laundry machines are operating simultaneously in the dehydration mode. Specifically, the owner sets the specified number of laundry machines if he or she determines that the noise level caused by the simultaneous dehydration operation of the specified number of laundry machines 100 is unacceptable. Note that in this embodiment, the owner sets the specified number to four. Therefore, if a new laundry machine 100 is added to the operation mode while three are already in operation in the coin laundry T, the DTC 105 transmits an operating mode change signal to the newly added laundry machine 100, thereby changing the operating mode. It should be noted that in this embodiment, when the laundry machine 100 is newly put into operation in the coin-operated laundry T, the dehydration operation of a specified number of washer-dryers 101 will be simultaneously operated. When the operation under each operation process in the laundry machine 100 is started (when the fee is paid and the operation under each operation process is started), the timing of the dehydration operation included in each operation process is automatically changed.
[0315] Operation mode changing unit 506b stores a method for changing the operation mode when the operation mode of a newly operated laundry machine 100 is changed. The method for changing the operation mode will be described later.
[0316] For example, as shown in FIG. 26 , a case will be described in which the washer-dryer A4 newly starts operating under the standard course while the three washer-dryers A1 , A2 , and A3 are operating under the standard course.
[0317] Assume that washer-dryer A1 starts operating at time t1, washer-dryer A2 starts operating at time t2, and washer-dryer A3 starts operating at time t3.
[0318] If the three washer-dryers A1, A2, and A3 are already operating and the washer-dryer A4 starts operating at time t4, it is considered that if the washer-dryer A4 is operated in the normal operation mode, the four washer-dryers A1-A4 will simultaneously perform dehydration operations during the time period N1 from time t7 to time t9, thereby generating extremely loud noise in the coin laundry T. Therefore, in the laundry system T401 of this embodiment, control is performed to stagger the timing of the dehydration operation of the newly started washer-dryer A4 to prevent the four washer-dryers A1-A4 from performing dehydration operations simultaneously, or to shorten the time during which the four washer-dryers A1-A4 perform dehydration operations simultaneously compared to the normal operation mode.
[0319] The control for shifting the timing of the dehydration operation in the newly started washer-dryer A4 is arbitrary, and various modes such as the following (Operation Mode 1) to (Operation Mode 3) are conceivable.
[0320] For example, in (Operation Mode 1) shown in FIG26 , the operation of washer-dryer A4 begins at t4, the washing and rinsing operations complete before time t7, and then the operation is interrupted for a period N2 from time t7 to t8, and the dehydration operation begins at time t9. Thus, even if the dehydration operation of washer-dryer A4 resumes at time t9, the dehydration operation of washer-dryer A1 will not be carried out simultaneously because the dehydration operation of washer-dryer A1 has completed before time t9.
[0321] Furthermore, in Operation Mode 2 shown in Figure 26 , when washer-dryer A4 begins operation at t4, the washing operation does not end at t5 but instead continues until t6. After the rinsing operation ends before t9, the dehydration operation begins at t9. Thus, even if washer-dryer A4 begins dehydration at t9, the dehydration operation of the four washer-dryers A1-A4 will not begin simultaneously because washer-dryer A1's dehydration operation has already ended before t9.
[0322] Furthermore, in (Operation Mode 3) shown in FIG. 26 , the operation of washer-dryer A4 begins at t4, and the washing and rinsing operations complete before time t7. Operation is then interrupted for a period N4 from time t7 to t8, and the dehydration operation begins at time t8. Thus, when the dehydration operation of washer-dryer A4 resumes at time t8, the dehydration operations of the four washer-dryers A1-A4 proceed simultaneously during a period N5 from time t8 to t9. However, the period N5 during which the four washer-dryers A1-A4 dehydrate simultaneously proceed is shorter than the period N1 during which the four washer-dryers A1-A4 dehydrate simultaneously proceed when washer-dryer A4 is operated in the (normal operation mode).
[0323] In the laundry system T501 of this modification, the same effects as those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0324] (Modification of the Fifth Embodiment)
[0325] In contrast to the laundry system T501 of the fifth embodiment, which staggers the timing of dehydration operations when multiple laundry appliances are simultaneously performing dehydration operations, the laundry system T501a of this variation staggers the timing of drying operations when multiple laundry appliances are simultaneously performing drying operations. It should be noted that detailed descriptions of the components of the laundry system T501a of this variation that are identical to those of the laundry system T501 of the fourth embodiment will be omitted.
[0326] In the laundry system T501a of this modification, the DTC 105 includes a switching number setting unit 506a and an operation mode changing unit 506b.
[0327] The switching number setting unit 506a sets a predetermined number of laundry machines 100 in the coin laundry T for switching operation modes when the laundry machines are operating simultaneously in the drying mode. Specifically, the owner sets the predetermined number of laundry machines if they determine that the noise level caused by the predetermined number of laundry machines 100 operating simultaneously in the drying mode is unacceptable. Note that in this embodiment, the owner sets the predetermined number to four laundry machines. Therefore, if a new laundry machine 100 is put into operation while three laundry machines 100 are already operating in the coin laundry T, a message is sent from the DTC 105 to the newly activated laundry machine 100, changing the operation mode. Note that in this embodiment, if a new laundry machine 100 is put into operation in the coin laundry T, resulting in a predetermined number of washer-dryers 101 operating simultaneously in the drying mode, the timing of the dehydration operation included in each operation course is automatically changed when the laundry machine 100 starts operating in each operation course (when payment is made and operation in each operation course starts).
[0328] Operation mode changing unit 506b stores a method for changing the operation mode when the operation mode of a newly operated laundry machine 100 is changed. The method for changing the operation mode will be described later.
[0329] For example, as shown in FIG. 27 , a case will be described in which the washer-dryer A4 newly starts operating under the standard course while the three washer-dryers A1 , A2 , and A3 are operating under the standard course.
[0330] Assume that washer-dryer A1 starts operating at time t1, washer-dryer A2 starts operating at time t2, and washer-dryer A3 starts operating at time t3.
[0331] When the three washer-dryers A1, A2, and A3 are already operating and the washer-dryer A4 starts operating at time t4, it is considered that if washer-dryer A4 is operated in the normal operating mode, the four washer-dryers A1-A4 will simultaneously perform drying operations during the time period N1 from time t8 to time t11, thereby generating extremely loud noise in the coin laundry T. Therefore, in the laundry system T401 of this modified example, control is performed to stagger the timing of the drying operations in the newly started washer-dryer A4, so that the time during which the four washer-dryers A1-A4 perform drying operations simultaneously is shorter than in the normal operating mode, or so as to prevent the four washer-dryers A1-A4 from performing drying operations simultaneously.
[0332] The control for staggering the timing of the drying operation in the newly started washer-dryer A4 is arbitrary, and various modes such as the following (Operation Mode 1) to (Operation Mode 3) are conceivable.
[0333] For example, in (Operation Mode 1) shown in FIG27 , the operation of washer-dryer A4 begins at t4, and the washing and rinsing operations complete before time t8. Operation is then interrupted for a period N2 from time t8 to t9, and the drying operation resumes at time t9. Thus, when the drying operation of washer-dryer A4 resumes at time t9, the four washer-dryers A1-A4 simultaneously perform drying operations during a period N3 from time t9 to t11. However, this period N3 during which the four washer-dryers A1-A4 simultaneously perform drying operations is shorter than the period N1 during which the four washer-dryers A1-A4 simultaneously perform drying operations when washer-dryer A4 is operated in the (normal operation mode).
[0334] In addition, in (operation mode 2) shown in Figure 27, when the operation of the washer-dryer A4 starts at t4, the washing operation does not end at time t5 but is extended to time t6. Afterwards, after the rinsing operation and the dehydration operation are completed before time t10, the dehydration operation starts from time t10. In this way, when the drying operation of the washer-dryer A4 is restarted from time t10, the drying operations of the four washer-dryers A1 to A4 are carried out simultaneously in the time period N5 from time t10 to t11. However, the time period N5 in which the drying operations of the four washer-dryers A1 to A4 are carried out simultaneously is shorter than the time period N1 in which the drying operations of the four washer-dryers A1 to A4 are carried out simultaneously when the washer-dryer A4 is operated according to (normal operation mode). It should be noted that in Figure 27, the case where the time period N5 is shorter than the time period N3 is shown.
[0335] Furthermore, in (Operation Mode 3) shown in FIG. 27 , washer-dryer A4 begins operation at t4, and the washing, rinsing, and dehydration operations complete before time t8. Operation is then interrupted for a period N6 from time t8 to t11, and the drying operation resumes at time t11. Thus, even if washer-dryer A4 resumes drying operation at time t11, the drying operation of washer-dryer A1 will have completed before time t11, preventing the four washer-dryers A1-A4 from simultaneously performing drying operations.
[0336] In the laundry system T501 of the fifth embodiment and the laundry system T501a of its variation, the drying operation time of the standard cycle is set longer than the dehydration operation time. Therefore, in the fifth embodiment, even if the dehydration operation timing of washer-dryer A4 is staggered to prevent the four washer-dryers A1-A4 from running dehydration simultaneously, the extended standard cycle operation time is relatively short. However, in the variation of the fifth embodiment, staggering the drying operation timing of washer-dryer A4 to prevent the four washer-dryers A1-A4 from running dehydration simultaneously results in a significantly extended standard cycle operation time.
[0337] Therefore, in the modified example of the above-mentioned fifth embodiment, compared with staggering the timing of the dehydration operation of the washer-dryer A4 so as to prevent the four washer-dryers A1 to A4 from performing the drying operation at the same time, staggering the timing of the dehydration operation of the washer-dryer A4 so as to allow the four washer-dryers A1 to A4 to perform the drying operation at the same time is shorter than the case (normal operation mode), which will not extend the operation time of the entire standard process for the user of the laundry device 100, and is therefore highly convenient.
[0338] In the laundry system T501a of this modification, the same effects as those of the laundry system T101 of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0339] As mentioned above, although embodiment of this invention was demonstrated, the specific structure of each part is not limited to the embodiment mentioned above.
[0340] For example, in the first embodiment described above, the prescribed condition for switching from normal mode to quiet mode when a prescribed number of laundry machines 100, i.e., four laundry machines 100, are operating in the coin laundry T, can be arbitrarily set. If the prescribed condition is set to the number of laundry machines in operation being the prescribed number or more, the prescribed number is not limited to four and can be arbitrarily set.
[0341] In the first embodiment described above, when a predetermined number of laundry machines 100, i.e., four laundry machines 100, are operating in the coin laundry T, the washer-dryer 101 is operated in the silent mode for both the dehydration and drying operations included in the standard cycle. However, the silent mode may be operated for only one of the dehydration and drying operations. In other words, in the coin laundry T, if dehydration noise becomes a problem, the silent mode may be operated only for the dehydration operation, and if drying noise becomes a problem, the silent mode may be operated only for the drying operation.
[0342] In the first to fourth embodiments described above, the rotational speed A2 of the drum 5 and the rotational speed C2 of the fan 57 stored in the quiet mode setting unit 62 are pre-set by the owner of the coin laundry T, but the present invention is not limited thereto. Since the noise level varies depending on the area of the coin laundry T, the owner may adjust the rotational speed, for example, by setting a level of 2 or 3.
[0343] In the first to fourth embodiments, the washing machine 100 includes the washer-dryers 101 and 103 and the dryer 102. However, the present invention is applicable to a washing machine capable of performing at least one of a dehydration operation and a drying operation.
[0344] In the first to fourth embodiments described above, the laundry machines 100 are equipped with a fee accounting device, and local settlement is performed for each laundry machine 100. However, the present invention is not limited to this embodiment. In a coin laundry T, the laundry machines 100 may also be centrally settled using a centralized settlement terminal. Furthermore, in a coin laundry T, a combination of local settlement for each laundry machine 100 and centralized settlement using a centralized settlement terminal may be used.
[0345] In the third embodiment, the noise measuring device 108 is installed near the exhaust port 161a of the common exhaust duct 161. However, the installation location of the noise measuring device 108 is arbitrary. The noise measuring device 108 may be installed in a coin laundry T, for example.
[0346] In the first to fourth embodiments described above, a coupon is issued for a predetermined discount on the fare when at least one of the dehydration and drying operations has been operated in silent mode, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, a coupon may not be issued when operation has been performed in silent mode. Alternatively, a coupon may be issued for a predetermined discount rate on the predetermined amount when at least one of the dehydration and drying operations has been operated in silent mode.
[0347] In the first to fourth embodiments described above, coupons are issued when at least one of the dehydration operation and the drying operation has been operated in silent mode, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In the case where at least one of the dehydration operation and the drying operation has been operated in silent mode, the cost discount or the cost of the operation process may be changed to a lower amount instead of issuing coupons. In this case, the operation time per unit amount can be automatically changed (extended) by extending the operation time by the amount by which the dehydration capacity or the drying capacity is reduced in silent mode. In addition, for example, the information that "the cost will be lower if the silent mode is used" is used for promotional advertising, thereby increasing the number of visitors to the coin laundry T.
[0348] Specifically, as shown in FIG28 , in the washer-dryer 101 of the first embodiment, in the standard process, the fee may be 1,200 yen when both the dehydration operation and the drying operation are performed in the normal mode, whereas the fee may be reduced to 900 yen when both the dehydration operation and the drying operation are performed in the silent mode. Similarly, in the washing process, the fee may be 800 yen when the dehydration operation is performed in the normal mode, whereas the fee may be reduced to 700 yen when the dehydration operation is performed in the silent mode. Similarly, in the drying process, the fee may be 100 yen when the drying operation is performed in the normal mode, whereas the fee may be reduced to 70 yen when the drying operation is performed in the silent mode.
[0349] Furthermore, as shown in FIG29 , in the washer-dryer 103 of the second embodiment, in the standard process, the fee may be 1200 yen when both the dehydration and drying operations are performed in normal mode. In contrast, the fee may be reduced to 1100 yen when only the dehydration operation is performed in silent mode, 1000 yen when only the drying operation is performed in silent mode, and 900 yen when both the dehydration and drying operations are performed in silent mode. Similarly, in the washing process, the fee may be 800 yen when the dehydration operation is performed in normal mode, and 700 yen when the dehydration operation is performed in silent mode. Similarly, in the drying process, the fee may be 100 yen when the drying operation is performed in normal mode, and 70 yen when the drying operation is performed in silent mode.
[0350] It should be noted that the operation time, fee, discount amount, etc. of each operation course described in this specification are examples and can be set arbitrarily.
[0351] In the fourth embodiment described above, when a new laundry machine 100 is started while three laundry machines 100 are already in operation in the coin laundry T, the newly started laundry machine 100 is operated in the silent mode throughout its entire dehydration cycle. However, this is not limiting. For example, in Figure 23 , the dehydration cycle of washer-dryer A1 ends at time t6. Therefore, after the dehydration cycle of washer-dryer A4 begins at time t5, the machine may operate in the silent mode from time t5 to time t6, and then resume normal operation from time t6.
[0352] In the modified example of the fourth embodiment described above, when a new laundry machine 100 is put into operation while three laundry machines 100 are already in operation in the coin laundry T, the newly-operated laundry machine 100 is operated in silent mode throughout its drying operation. However, this is not limiting. For example, in FIG. 24 , the drying operation of washer-dryer A1 ends at time t6. Therefore, after the drying operation of washer-dryer A4 begins at time t5, the machine may operate in silent mode from time t5 to time t6, and then resume normal operation from time t6.
[0353] In the fifth embodiment described above, when the four washer-dryers A1-A4 are simultaneously dehydrating, the timing of the dehydration operation in the newly activated washer-dryer A4 is staggered to prevent the four washer-dryers A1-A4 from dehydrating simultaneously, or to shorten the time during which the four washer-dryers A1-A4 dehydrate simultaneously compared to the normal operation mode. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, when the four washer-dryers A1-A4 are simultaneously dehydrating, the newly activated washer-dryer A4 can also be dehydrated in a silent mode. In this case, the noise generated in a coin-operated laundry can be reduced, as the vibration sound during the dehydration operation of the laundry equipment is the main cause of the noise generated in the coin-operated laundry.
[0354] In a variation of the fifth embodiment, when four washer-dryers A1-A4 are drying simultaneously, the timing of the drying operation in the newly activated washer-dryer A4 is staggered to prevent the four washer-dryers A1-A4 from drying simultaneously, or to shorten the drying time of the four washer-dryers A1-A4 compared to the normal operation mode. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, when the four washer-dryers A1-A4 are drying simultaneously, the newly activated washer-dryer A4 can also be operated in a silent drying mode. In this case, the noise generated in a coin-operated laundry can be reduced, as the main cause of the noise generated in the coin-operated laundry is the exhaust noise during the drying operation of the laundry equipment.
[0355] In the fifth embodiment described above, in (Operation Mode 2) shown in FIG. 26 , the operation time of the washing operation is extended compared to the operation time of the (normal operation mode) so that the dehydration operation starts at time t9. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the operation time of the rinsing operation may be extended compared to the operation time of the (normal operation mode) so that the dehydration operation starts at time t9. Furthermore, the washing operation and the rinsing operation may be extended evenly so that the dehydration operation starts at time t9.
[0356] In the modified example of the fifth embodiment described above, in (Operation Mode 2) shown in FIG. 27 , the operation time of the washing operation is extended compared to the operation time of (Normal Operation Mode) so that the drying operation starts at time t10. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the operation time of the rinsing operation or the spin operation may be extended compared to the operation time of (Normal Operation Mode) so that the spin operation starts at time t10. Furthermore, the washing operation, the rinsing operation, and the spin operation may be extended evenly so that the spin operation starts at time t10.
[0357] Furthermore, in the modified example of the fifth embodiment described above, in (Operation Mode 3) shown in FIG. 27 , after the washing, rinsing, and spin-drying operations are completed, the operations are interrupted and the drying operation begins at time t11, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, at least one of the operation times of the washing, rinsing, and spin-drying operations may be extended compared to the operation time of the (normal operation mode) so that the drying operation begins at time t11. In this case, the washing, rinsing, and spin-drying operations may be evenly extended so that the drying operation begins at time t11.
