[0035] In the related art, the mainstream AR glasses are single green, with thick structure, low brightness and poor display effect, which is not in line with the public's reading habits.
[0036] To solve the above technical problems, the present application provides an AR glasses assembly, which includes:
[0037] a monochromatic light source 10;
[0038] A first waveguide plate 20 is provided with a first coupling-in grating 21, a first coupling-out grating 22, and a first color transfer film 23 corresponding to the position of the first coupling-in grating 21. The first coupling-in grating 21 receives the light beam emitted by the monochromatic light source 10, and the first coupling-out grating 22 emits a light beam having a first color in a first direction.
[0039] A second waveguide plate 30 is located on a side of the first waveguide plate 20 facing away from the monochromatic light source 10. A second coupling-in grating 31, a second coupling-out grating 32, and a second color transfer film 33 corresponding to the position of the second coupling-in grating 31 are provided on the second waveguide plate 30. The second coupling-in grating 31 receives the light beam that passes through the first color transfer film 23, and the second coupling-out grating 32 emits a light beam having a second color in the first direction.
[0040] A third waveguide plate 40 is located on a side of the second waveguide plate 30 facing away from the first waveguide plate 20. A third in-coupling grating 41 and a third out-coupling grating 42 are provided on the third waveguide plate 40. The third in-coupling grating 41 receives the light beam passing through the second color transfer film 33, and the third out-coupling grating 42 emits a light beam having a third color in the first direction.
[0041] The light beams of the first color, the second color, and the third color are superimposed to form a white light beam.
[0042] In order to solve the above technical problems, the present application further provides an AR glasses, which includes the above AR glasses components.
[0043] The monochromatic light source of this application achieves color conversion through the first color conversion film 23 and the second color conversion film 33. Ultimately, three colors of light are emitted through the first outcoupling grating 22, the second outcoupling grating 32, and the third outcoupling grating 42. The three colors of light are superimposed to achieve a white state display. This application uses a monochromatic light source, which occupies a small structural volume and emits high brightness white light, providing a good display effect.
[0044] The following will describe in detail the various embodiments of the present application that are consistent with the above-mentioned creative concepts.
[0045] As shown in FIG1 , an embodiment of the present application discloses an AR glasses assembly. A first coupling-in grating 21 and a first coupling-out grating 22 are disposed on a side of a first waveguide plate 20 close to a monochromatic light source 10, and a first color transfer film 23 is disposed on a side of the first waveguide plate 20 away from the monochromatic light source 10. A second coupling-in grating 31 and a second coupling-out grating 32 are disposed on a side of a second waveguide plate 30 close to the first waveguide plate 20, and a second color transfer film 33 is disposed on a side of the second waveguide plate 30 away from the first waveguide plate 20. A third coupling-in grating 41 and a third coupling-out grating 42 are disposed on a side of a third waveguide plate 40 close to the second waveguide plate 30, and a second filter film 43 is disposed on a side of the third waveguide plate 40 away from the second waveguide plate 30.
[0046] Light of a first color emitted by a monochromatic light source 10 enters the first waveguide plate 20 through the first coupling grating 21. Some of the light in the first waveguide plate 20 is emitted in a first direction through the first coupling grating 22, and some of the light is emitted toward the second waveguide plate 30 through the first color transfer film 23. The first color transfer film 23 converts some of the first color light into light of a second color. Light emitted from the first color transfer film 23 enters the second waveguide plate 30 through the second coupling grating 31. Some of the light in the second waveguide plate 30 is emitted in the first direction through the second coupling grating 32, and some of the light is emitted toward the third waveguide plate 40 through the second color transfer film 33. The second color transfer film 33 converts some of the first color light and some of the second color light into light of a third color. Light emitted from the second color transfer film 33 enters the third waveguide plate 40 through the third coupling grating 41. Some of the light from the third waveguide plate 40 is emitted in the first direction through the third coupling grating 42. The superposition of the first, second, and third colors of light creates a black and white display. Optionally, a collimating lens 50 is provided between the monochromatic light source 10 and the first waveguide plate 20 . The collimating lens 50 converts the light emitted by the monochromatic light source 10 into a parallel light beam. The parallel light beam enters the first waveguide plate 20 through the first coupling grating 21 .
[0047] Optionally, the first coupling-in grating 21 and the first coupling-out grating 22 are respectively disposed near opposite ends of the first waveguide plate 20. The second coupling-in grating 31 and the second coupling-out grating 32 are respectively disposed near opposite ends of the second waveguide plate 30. The third coupling-in grating 41 and the third coupling-out grating 42 are respectively disposed near opposite ends of the third waveguide plate 40. The projections of the first coupling-in grating 21, the second coupling-in grating 31, and the third coupling-out grating 42 in the first direction overlap. The projections of the centers of the first coupling-in grating 21, the second coupling-in grating 31, and the third coupling-out grating 41 in the first direction overlap with the centers of the monochromatic light source 10 and the collimating lens 50. The projections of the first coupling-in grating 21, the second coupling-in grating 31, and the third coupling-out grating 41 in the first direction fall within the projections of the first color transfer film 23 and the second color transfer film 33 in the first direction. The positions of the first coupling-in grating 21, the second coupling-in grating 31, and the third coupling-in grating 41 and the first coupling-out grating 22, the second coupling-out grating 32, and the third coupling-out grating 42 can be changed according to actual needs, as long as a portion of the light coupled into the coupling-in grating can be emitted in the first direction through the coupling-out grating. The arrangement of the first coupling-in grating 21, the second coupling-in grating 31, the third coupling-in grating 41, the first color transfer film 23, and the second color transfer film 33 can also be changed according to actual needs, as long as the light beam can propagate along the path from the first coupling-in grating 21 to the first color transfer film 23 to the second coupling-in grating 31 to the second color transfer film 33 to the third coupling-in grating 41.
[0048] Please also refer to Figure 2. In one embodiment, the monochromatic light source 10 is a blue light source. The first color transfer film 23 is a green color transfer film. The first color transfer film 23 transmits a portion of the blue light while converting some of the blue light into green light. The second color transfer film 33 is a red color transfer film. The second color transfer film 33 transmits a portion of the blue and green light while converting some of the blue and green light into red light. The first outcoupling grating 22 couples the blue light in a first direction, the second outcoupling grating 32 couples the green light in the first direction, and the third outcoupling grating 42 couples the red light in the first direction. The blue, green, and red light are superimposed to achieve a black and white display.
[0049] Alternatively, the first color transfer film 23 can be a red color transfer film, which transmits a portion of blue light while converting it to red light. The second color transfer film 33 can be a green color transfer film, which transmits a portion of blue and red light while converting them to green light. The first outcoupling grating 22 couples blue light in a first direction, the second outcoupling grating 32 couples red light in the first direction, and the third outcoupling grating 42 couples green light in the first direction. The blue, red, and green light are superimposed to achieve a black and white display.
[0050] Optionally, a first filter film 34 is provided on one side of the second waveguide plate 30. The first filter film 34 can be provided on the side of the second waveguide plate 30 close to the first waveguide plate 20, or on the side of the second waveguide plate 30 close to the third waveguide plate 40. The projection of the first filter film 34 in the first direction does not overlap with the projections of the second coupling grating 31, the second coupling grating 32, and the second color transfer film 33 in the first direction. When the first color transfer film 23 is a green color transfer film, the first filter film 34 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the green light beam. When the first color transfer film 23 is a red color transfer film, the first filter film 34 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the red light beam.
[0051] Optionally, a second filter film 43 is provided on one side of the third waveguide plate 40. The second filter film 43 can be provided on the side of the third waveguide plate 40 close to the second waveguide plate 30, or on the side of the third waveguide plate 40 away from the second waveguide plate 30. The projection of the second filter film 43 in the first direction does not overlap with the projections of the third coupling-in grating 41 and the third coupling-out grating 42 in the first direction. When the second color transfer film 33 is a red color transfer film, the second filter film 43 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the red light beam. When the second color transfer film 33 is a green color transfer film, the second filter film 43 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the green light beam.
[0052] Referring also to Figure 3 , in one embodiment, a cover plate 60 is disposed between the monochromatic light source 10 and the first waveguide plate 20. A third color transfer film 61 is disposed on one side of the cover plate 60. The light beam from the monochromatic light source 10 passes through the third color transfer film 61 and reaches the first coupling grating 21. Optionally, the projections of the first coupling grating 21, the second coupling grating 31, and the third coupling grating 41 in the first direction fall within the projection of the third color transfer film 61 in the first direction. The monochromatic light source 10 can be a blue light source or an ultraviolet light source.
[0053] When the monochromatic light source 10 is an ultraviolet light source, the first color transfer film 23 is one of blue, green, or red. The second color transfer film 33 is one of the remaining two of blue, green, or red. The third color transfer film 61 is the remaining one of the blue, green, or red.
[0054] When the monochromatic light source 10 is a blue light source, the third color transfer film 61 is a green color transfer film or a red color transfer film. The first color transfer film 23 is a blue color transfer film, a green color transfer film, or a red color transfer film that is different from the third color transfer film 61. The second color transfer film 33 is a blue color transfer film, a green color transfer film, or a red color transfer film that is different from the first color transfer film 23 and the third color transfer film 61.
[0055] Please also refer to Figure 4. Optionally, a third filter film 24 is provided on one side of the first waveguide plate 20. The third filter film 24 can be provided on the side of the first waveguide plate 20 close to the monochromatic light source 10, or on the side of the first waveguide plate 20 close to the second waveguide plate 30. When the monochromatic light source 10 is an ultraviolet light source, when the third color transfer film 61 is a blue color transfer film, the third filter film 24 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the blue light beam. When the third color transfer film 61 is a green color transfer film, the third filter film 24 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the green light beam. When the third color transfer film 61 is a red color transfer film, the third filter film 24 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the red light beam. When the monochromatic light source 10 is a blue light source, and the third color transfer film 61 is a green color transfer film, the third filter film 24 performs a light filtering function by absorbing light beams other than the green light beam. When the third color transfer film 61 is a red color transfer film, the third filter film 24 performs a light filtering function by absorbing light beams other than the red light beam.
[0056] Optionally, a first filter film 34 is provided on one side of the second waveguide plate 30. When the first color transfer film 23 is a blue color transfer film, the first filter film 34 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the blue light beam.
[0057] Optionally, a second filter film 43 is provided on one side of the third waveguide plate 40. The second filter film 43 can be provided on the side of the third waveguide plate 40 close to the second waveguide plate 30, or on the side of the third waveguide plate 40 away from the second waveguide plate 30. The projection of the second filter film 43 in the first direction does not overlap with the projection of the third coupling-in grating 41 and the third coupling-out grating 42 in the first direction. When the second color transfer film 33 is a blue color transfer film, the second filter film 43 achieves a filtering effect by absorbing light beams other than the blue light beam.
[0058] Optionally, when the monochromatic light source 10 is an ultraviolet light source, an anti-ultraviolet film 62 is provided on one side of the cover plate 60. The anti-ultraviolet film 62 can be provided on the side of the cover plate 60 close to the monochromatic light source 10, or on the side of the cover plate 60 close to the first waveguide plate 20. The projections of the first outcoupling grating 22, the second outcoupling grating 32, and the third outcoupling grating 42 in the first direction overlap and fall within the projection of the anti-ultraviolet film 62 in the first direction. The projections of the first incoupling grating 21, the second incoupling grating 31, and the third incoupling grating 41 in the first direction do not overlap with the projection of the anti-ultraviolet film 62 in the first direction. The projections of the first color transfer film 23, the second color transfer film 33, and the third color transfer film 61 in the first direction do not overlap with the projection of the anti-ultraviolet film 62 in the first direction.
[0059] Optionally, the first coupling-in grating 21, the first coupling-out grating 22, the second coupling-in grating 31, the second coupling-out grating 32, the third coupling-in grating 41, and the third coupling-out grating 42 can be relief gratings or holographic gratings. Relief gratings have a simple preparation process but a wide wavelength bandwidth, meaning that the grating used to couple out a green light beam may also respond to a blue light beam, and the grating used to couple out a red light beam may also respond to a green light beam. Holographic gratings have a narrow wavelength bandwidth, meaning that the grating used to couple out a green light beam will only respond to a green light beam, the grating used to couple out a red light beam will only respond to a red light beam, and the grating used to couple out a blue light beam will only respond to a blue light beam. Optionally, when a filter film is provided on the waveguide plate, the coupling-in grating and the coupling-out grating are relief gratings. When no filter film is provided on the waveguide plate, the coupling-in grating and the coupling-out grating are holographic gratings.
[0060] As shown in Figure 5. The present application also discloses a method for manufacturing a waveguide plate. In one embodiment, the method for manufacturing the waveguide plate includes first providing a waveguide substrate 100, on which an incoupling region and an outcoupling region are provided. The incoupling region and the outcoupling region are respectively located near two opposite ends of the waveguide substrate 100. The waveguide substrate 100 is a transparent substrate. Then, a color conversion layer 130 is spin-coated on the back of the waveguide substrate 100 and patterned at a position corresponding to the incoupling region. Then, an encapsulation layer 140 is deposited on the back of the waveguide substrate 100 to protect the color conversion layer 130. The waveguide substrate 100 is then flipped over to the front, and a grating is imprinted on the front of the waveguide substrate 100. The grating includes an incoupling grating 110 and an outcoupling grating 120. The incoupling grating 110 is imprinted on the incoupling region, and the outcoupling grating 120 is imprinted on the outcoupling region. The incoupling region and the outcoupling region are respectively located near two opposite ends of the waveguide substrate 100. When the color conversion layer 130, the in-coupling grating 110, and the out-coupling grating 120 correspond to the wavelength band of a blue light beam, a blue waveguide plate is obtained. When the color conversion layer 130, the in-coupling grating 110, and the out-coupling grating 120 correspond to the wavelength band of a red light beam, a red waveguide plate is obtained. When the color conversion layer 130, the in-coupling grating 110, and the out-coupling grating 120 correspond to the wavelength band of a green light beam, a green waveguide plate is obtained.
[0061] As shown in FIG6 , in another embodiment, a method for fabricating a waveguide plate includes first providing a transparent waveguide substrate 100. Gratings are then imprinted on the front surface of the waveguide substrate 100. The gratings include an in-coupling grating 110 and an out-coupling grating 120. The in-coupling grating 110 is imprinted in the in-coupling region, and the out-coupling grating 120 is imprinted in the out-coupling region. The in-coupling region and the out-coupling region are located near opposite ends of the waveguide substrate 100. A protective layer 150 is then spin-coated on the front surface of the waveguide substrate 100, completely covering the in-coupling grating 110 and the out-coupling grating 120. The waveguide substrate 100 is then flipped over to the back surface, and a color transfer layer 130 is spin-coated and patterned at locations corresponding to the in-coupling region. An encapsulation layer 140 is then deposited on the back surface of the waveguide substrate 100 to protect the color transfer layer 130. Finally, the waveguide substrate 100 is flipped over to the front surface, and the protective layer 150 is removed.
[0062] As shown in FIG7 , in another embodiment, a method for fabricating a waveguide plate includes first providing a waveguide substrate 100 having an incoupling region and an outcoupling region disposed thereon. The incoupling region and the outcoupling region are located near opposite ends of the waveguide substrate 100. The waveguide substrate 100 is a transparent substrate. A color conversion layer 130 is then spin-coated on the back side of the waveguide substrate 100 and patterned at locations corresponding to the incoupling region. A filter layer 160 is then spin-coated on the back side of the waveguide substrate 100 and patterned at locations corresponding to the incoupling region. The projection of the filter layer 160 in a first direction does not overlap with the projections of the color conversion layer 130, the incoupling region, and the outcoupling region in the first direction. An encapsulation layer 140 is then deposited on the back side of the waveguide substrate 100 to protect the color conversion layer 130 and the filter layer 160. The waveguide substrate 100 is then flipped over, and a grating is imprinted on the front side of the waveguide substrate 100. The gratings include an incoupling grating 110 and an outcoupling grating 120. The in-coupling grating 110 is embossed into the in-coupling region, and the out-coupling grating 120 is embossed into the out-coupling region. When the color conversion layer 130, the in-coupling grating 110, and the out-coupling grating 120 correspond to the wavelength band of a blue light beam, a blue waveguide is obtained. When the color conversion layer 130, the in-coupling grating 110, and the out-coupling grating 120 correspond to the wavelength band of a red light beam, a red waveguide is obtained. When the color conversion layer 130, the in-coupling grating 110, and the out-coupling grating 120 correspond to the wavelength band of a green light beam, a green waveguide is obtained.
