Abstract
Description
Cooling module and battery disconnect device including same
[0001] The present invention relates to a cooling module and a battery disconnect device including the same, and more particularly, to a cooling module using a cooling fluid and a battery disconnect device including the same.
[0002] The trend toward restricting the use of fossil fuels to combat climate change continues. This trend is affecting not only the power generation sector, but also everyday life.
[0003] Accordingly, research is actively being conducted to move away from conventional vehicles that generate power using fossil fuels such as gasoline or diesel and to drive vehicles using electricity or hydrogen, such as electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and hydrogen vehicles (HVs).
[0004] EVs, HEVs, HVs, and other vehicles mentioned above require batteries to power their operation. As the vehicle and its battery continue to operate, the BDU (Battery Disconnect Unit), which houses the battery and devices that switch the load, such as switches, generate high heat.
[0005] If the generated high heat is left unchecked, it could damage the battery, BDU, or various components within the vehicle. Therefore, compared to traditional vehicles (i.e., those powered by fossil fuels), EVs, HEVs, and HVs require increased battery heat dissipation.
[0006] Commonly used methods for cooling batteries can be categorized as air cooling and water cooling. For conventional vehicles powered by fossil fuels, air cooling can be expected to provide sufficient cooling efficiency, as the amount of heat generated by the battery is not excessive. On the other hand, for EVs, HEVs, and HVs, which contain batteries that generate high heat, air cooling alone is not sufficient, and thus water cooling is typically used.
[0007] However, when cooling a battery with water, the heat transfer medium—the path through which the water, which transfers heat from the battery, flows—must be physically completely separated from the battery. In other words, the path must allow water to flow internally, but must be blocked from communicating with the outside world.
[0008] Therefore, water-cooling a battery requires additional components, such as rubber rings, to prevent accidental water leakage. This increases the unit price of the product and reduces assembly efficiency. Furthermore, the resulting airtight voids between components can reduce heat transfer, potentially reducing cooling efficiency.
[0009] Accordingly, there has been an urgent need for the development of a cooling module having high cooling efficiency and a battery blocking device including the same by improving the heat transfer rate between a heat-generating component and a heat-absorbing component.
[0010] The present invention has been conceived in consideration of the above points, and an object of the present invention is to provide a cooling module having high cooling efficiency and a battery blocking device including the same.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a cooling module having a structure capable of stably securing electrical insulation with an electrical device to which it is coupled, and a battery disconnect device including the same.
[0012] Another object of the present invention is to provide a cooling module having a structure capable of preventing loss of a medium for cooling and being insulated from a battery voltage, and a battery disconnect device including the same.
[0013] Another object of the present invention is to provide a cooling module having a structure applicable to electrical devices of various sizes and a battery disconnect device including the same.

[0055] Referring to FIG. 1, a battery disconnection device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention is disclosed. The battery disconnection device (1) according to this embodiment is a device for preventing damage to a battery and other components due to overcurrent by cutting off the current in an electric circuit to which a battery and a load are connected when overcurrent flows in the electric circuit.
[0056] Such a battery disconnect device (1) may be provided in any form capable of allowing or blocking current flow between a battery (not shown) and a load. As an example, the battery disconnect device (1) may be provided as a BDU (Battery Disconnect Unit).
[0057] The battery disconnect device (1) according to the present embodiment can be installed in any vehicle equipped with a battery (not shown), such as an EV, HEV, PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), or HV. Alternatively, the battery disconnect device (1) can also be installed in any power device equipped with a battery, such as an ESS (Energy Storage System).
[0058] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a battery blocking device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a blocking module (10) and a cooling module (20). In this embodiment, the blocking module (10) is configured to allow or block the flow of current in the aforementioned electric circuit.
[0059] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the blocking module (10) may include a housing (12). The housing (12) is configured to provide a base on which other components of the battery blocking device (1) are accommodated or installed.
[0060] In this embodiment, the housing (12) may be provided as a structure in the shape of a box having a predetermined space inside. Furthermore, the housing (12) may be made of a material such as plastic having a predetermined rigidity. In this case, the housing (12) may include a material having a predetermined insulating property to ensure insulation performance for both the inside and the outside.
[0061] Meanwhile, in the present embodiment, the housing (12) has a body shape, but is not limited thereto, and the shape of the housing (12) may be appropriately modified as needed. For example, the housing (12) may be configured such that a portion thereof is open or curved to suit the shape of the space in which the battery disconnect device (1) is placed or the shapes of other components of the battery disconnect device (1).
[0062] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a blocking module (10) of a battery blocking device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a plurality of contactors (14) and busbars (16).
[0063] In this embodiment, a plurality of contactors (14) and busbars (16) are coupled and energized in a predetermined manner, thereby energizing an external battery, a fuse (18) described later, and other components provided in the vehicle. For this purpose, the contactors (14) and busbars (16) may be made of a conductive material.
[0064] Meanwhile, in the present embodiment, the contactor (14) may be provided as a member having a hole into which a connecting member (30) described later can be fastened so that it can be combined with another configuration, but its shape is not particularly limited as long as it can be configured to be electrically connected to another configuration.
[0065] According to the present embodiment, a plurality of contactors (14) can be arranged in a predetermined manner within a predetermined space. For example, a plurality of contactors (14) can be arranged in a row within the aforementioned housing (12). The arrangement or location of these multiple contactors (14) can be varied as needed.
[0066] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the busbar (16) may be configured to conduct current between the contactor (14) and an external battery or other device. At this time, heat may be generated in the busbar (16) as current flows. Excessive heat generated in the busbar (16) may cause fire, shorten the life of components due to deterioration, or deteriorate the current-conducting function of the battery disconnect device (1) or the current-cutting function due to overcurrent. To prevent this, the busbar (16) may be cooled.
[0067] In this embodiment, the bus bar (16) may be provided as a flat-shaped member installed in the housing (12). Accordingly, the bus bar (16) can be in contact with the external air or the cooling module (20) described later over a wide area, so that it can be cooled more effectively.
[0068] And, in this embodiment, the bus bar (16) may be coupled to the upper surface of the housing so that one side thereof is exposed to the outside. However, the position at which the bus bar (16) is arranged in the housing (12) is not particularly limited as long as it can be cooled by the cooling module (20) described later.
[0069] Meanwhile, in the present embodiment, at least one bus bar (16) may be provided. In the illustrated embodiment, a total of six bus bars (16) are arranged in a row along the Y-axis direction. The arrangement of these multiple bus bars (16) may be appropriately modified depending on their relative positions with respect to the contactor (14) and other devices.
[0070] At this time, the six bus bars (16) may be formed of flat-shaped members each having a different shape. The shape of each bus bar (16) may be appropriately modified, such as by bending a portion thereof to fit the portion in which it is installed in the housing (12).
[0071] Meanwhile, in this embodiment, the bus bar (16) is provided as a member having a flat shape. The shape of the bus bar (16) according to this embodiment is not limited to that shown, and the shape of the bus bar (16) is not particularly limited as long as it can be in direct or indirect contact with the cooling module (20) to enable heat exchange.
[0072] Referring to Fig. 2, in the present embodiment, the busbar (16) may be provided with at least one busbar-side connecting member hole (17). The busbar-side connecting member hole (17) is configured to allow a connecting member (30) described later to be penetrated and connected. This will be described later together with the connecting member (30).
[0073] Referring back to FIG. 2, the blocking module (10) of the battery blocking device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a fuse (18). In this embodiment, the fuse (18) is configured to prevent damage to or accidents of other components due to overcurrent.
[0074] In this embodiment, the fuse (18) may be configured as a device that operates to break when an overcurrent is applied. In addition, some of a plurality of contactors (14) may be coupled to the fuse (18), as illustrated in the lower right corner of FIG. 2. In addition, the contactors (14) coupled to the fuse (18) may be electrically connected to the bus bar (16).
[0075] Accordingly, the fuse (18) can detect whether an overcurrent is flowing in the bus bar (16) and, if an overcurrent is flowing, cut off the current. The process by which the fuse (18) cuts off the current is a well-known technology, so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0076] Hereinafter, a cooling module (20) of a battery blocking device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described. As described above, the cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be configured to cool heat generated in a bus bar (16) of the blocking module (10).
[0077] Referring to FIGS. 4 to 7, a cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a heat transfer body (100), a cooling pipe (200), and a heat dissipator (300). The heat transfer body (100) is a member that receives heat from a bus bar (16) via the heat dissipator (300) and transfers it to a cooling pipe (200) described below or releases it to the outside. To this end, the heat transfer body (100) may be made of a material with high thermal conductivity, for example, aluminum or an alloy material containing aluminum.
[0078] In the present embodiment, the heat transfer body (100) may include a heat transfer body portion (110). The heat transfer body portion (110) may be provided as a block-shaped member extending in one direction. At this time, the direction in which the heat transfer body portion (110) extends may be parallel to the direction in which the plurality of bus bars (16) are arranged. In the illustrated embodiment, the heat transfer body portion (110) extends along the Y-axis direction, which is the direction in which six bus bars (16) are arranged.
[0079] Accordingly, at least a portion of the heat transfer body (110) can be adjacent to any one of the plurality of bus bars (16) so as to effectively absorb heat generated from the bus bar (16).
[0080] According to the present embodiment, the heat transfer body (110) may include an upper surface (112), a lower surface (113), and a side surface (114). The upper surface (112) may be defined as a surface facing away from the bus bar (16) so that heat transferred to the heat transfer body (110) is released to the outside.
[0081] In this embodiment, the upper surface (112) is a surface facing the positive direction of the Z-axis. This upper surface (112) may be exposed so that heat can be directly released to the outside. At this time, the upper surface (112) may extend in the Y-axis direction parallel to the extension direction of the heat transfer body (110). Accordingly, the upper surface (112) and the bus bar (16), through which heat generated from the bus bar (16) is released, may be arranged as close as possible to the bus bar (16), so that heat can be efficiently released.
[0082] Next, referring to FIG. 7, in this embodiment, the lower surface (113) of the heat transfer body (110) can be defined as a surface facing the bus bar (16) so that heat is transferred to the heat transfer body (110).
[0083] In the illustrated embodiment, the lower surface (113) is a surface facing in the negative direction of the Z-axis. This lower surface (113) may be configured to contact the heat dissipation surface (320) of the heat dissipation body (300) described below and receive heat.
[0084] At this time, the lower surface (113) of the heat transfer body (110) can extend in the Y-axis direction parallel to the extension direction of the heat transfer body (110). And, according to the present embodiment, a portion of the lower surface (113) can be concavely sunken or convexly protruded.
[0085] For example, a portion of the lower surface (113) may protrude in the negative direction of the Z-axis so as to be closer to the bus bar (16). And, another portion of the lower surface (113) may be concavely sunken so as to correspond to the shape of the bottom portion (410) of the radiator frame (400) described later.
[0086] Next, in the present embodiment, the side surface (114) of the heat transfer body (110) can be defined as a surface that surrounds the side of the heat transfer body (110) between the upper surface (112) and the lower surface (113). In the illustrated embodiment, both side surfaces of the side surface (114) facing the X-axis are configured to contact the heat dissipation surface (320) of the heat dissipation body (300) described below together with the lower surface (113) and receive heat.
[0087] In this way, in this embodiment, the heat transfer body (110) is configured to be in surface contact with the heat radiator (300) through the lower surface (113) and the side surface (114), so that the heat transfer area between the two components can be secured as wide as possible.
[0088] Meanwhile, the heat transfer body (110) according to the present embodiment and the upper surface (112), lower surface (113) and side surface (114) included therein may be appropriately modified in consideration of the shape of the space in which the heat transfer body (110) is placed and the relative coupling relationship with other components. For example, the heat transfer body (110) may have a portion that is concavely sunken or convexly protruded.
[0089] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, a heat transfer body part (110) of a cooling module (20) according to the present embodiment may be formed with a heat transfer body-side coupling member hole (111). The heat transfer body-side coupling member hole (111) may be configured to couple a coupling member described below, and may be provided at a position corresponding to the housing-side coupling member hole (13) described above. This will be described later together with the coupling member (30).
[0090] Referring again to FIGS. 4 to 7, a heat transfer body (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a pipe joint (120). The pipe joint (120) is a portion to which a cooling pipe (200) described below is joined.
[0091] The pipe joint (120) according to the present embodiment may be provided in the form of a groove (hereinafter referred to as a pipe joint groove) sunken into the upper surface (112) of the heat transfer body (110) so that the cooling pipe (200) can be fitted therein. This pipe joint groove may be provided along the extension direction of the cooling pipe (200).
[0092] At this time, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the depth of the pipe joint groove may be configured to be deeper than the radius of the cooling pipe (200). In other words, when viewed in the extension direction, the portion of the cooling pipe (200) that enters the pipe joint groove may be larger than the portion exposed to the upper surface (112) of the heat transfer body (110). Accordingly, the area where the cooling pipe (200) and the pipe joint (120) come into contact and exchange heat can be further increased.
[0093] Meanwhile, the shape of the pipe joint (120) is not particularly limited as long as the heat transfer body (110) and the cooling pipe (200) can be joined while mutually transferring heat. For example, when the cooling pipe (200) is joined so as to pass through the interior of the heat transfer body (110), the pipe joint (120) may be provided in the form of a hole through which the cooling pipe (200) passes.
[0094] Referring to FIGS. 3, 6, and 7, the heat transfer body (100) of the cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a peripheral portion (130). In this embodiment, the peripheral portion (130) is configured to prevent the heat dissipation body (300) described below from protruding outward between the heat transfer body (100) and the heat dissipation body frame (400).
[0095] In addition, the perimeter (130) can be combined with the side wall (420) of the heat dissipation frame (400) in a shape-fitting manner to perform the function of supplementing the assembly of the heat transfer body (100) and the heat dissipation frame (400).
[0096] In this embodiment, a peripheral portion (130) may be provided along the periphery of the X-axis-direction side of the upper surface (112) of the heat transfer body portion (110). This peripheral portion (130) may be formed to protrude outward from the heat transfer body portion (110). Accordingly, the heat dissipation body (300) between the side surface (114) of the heat transfer body portion (110) and the heat dissipation body frame (400) may be prevented from coming outward.
[0097] Meanwhile, the peripheral portion (130) may not be provided depending on the characteristics of the heat dissipator (300) or the position where the heat dissipator (300) is interposed. For example, if the heat dissipator (300) is made of a material (e.g., rubber, etc.) that elastically adheres to the heat transfer material (100), the heat dissipator (300) does not flow out, and thus the peripheral portion (130) may not be provided separately.
[0098] As another example, if the radiator (300) is not interposed between the side surface (114) of the heat transfer body (110) and the radiator frame (400), the radiator (300) is less likely to pass through the side surface (114) and escape to the upper side of the upper surface (112), so a separate peripheral portion (130) may not be provided.
[0099] Referring to FIGS. 3 to 5, a cooling pipe (200) may be coupled to the pipe joint (120) of the cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention as described above. The cooling pipe (200) may be provided in the form of a pipe through which a predetermined cooling fluid may flow. The cooling fluid is a fluid that absorbs heat generated from the bus bar (16) and releases it to the outside. As an example, the cooling fluid may be water, but is not limited thereto.
[0100] In the present embodiment, the cooling pipe (200) may be formed of a water-resistant material. For example, the cooling pipe (200) may be formed of aluminum or an alloy material containing aluminum. This is to prevent the cooling pipe (200) from being corroded by the cooling fluid in an embodiment in which the cooling fluid is water.
[0101] According to the present embodiment, the cooling pipe (200) can extend in one direction. At this time, the cooling pipe (200) can extend in a direction parallel to the direction in which the plurality of bus bars (16) are arranged. In the illustrated embodiment, the cooling pipe (200) extends in the Y-axis direction, which is the direction in which the six bus bars (16) are arranged.
[0102] Accordingly, at least a portion of the cooling pipe (200) can be adjacent to any one of the plurality of bus bars (16) so as to absorb the heat generated from the bus bar (16) as effectively as possible.
[0103] Of course, the cooling pipe (200) may be bent in a curved manner at one portion depending on the arrangement of the bus bars (16). Furthermore, the cooling pipe (200) may be configured to be bent in a zigzag shape on one side of the bus bars (16) so as to exchange heat with the bus bars (16) through as much surface area as possible.
[0104] Meanwhile, openings that can communicate with the outside may be provided at both ends of the cooling pipe (200) in the extension direction. At this time, each end of the cooling pipe (200) may extend to the outside of the blocking module (10), so that the openings may be located outside the blocking module (10).
[0105] The interior of the cooling pipe (200) can be communicated with the outside through each of the above-described ends. That is, the cooling fluid can flow into the cooling pipe (200) through one of the above-described ends and flow out from the cooling pipe (200) through the other end. Through this, the flow of the cooling fluid for absorbing the heat of the bus bar (16) and releasing it to the outside can be controlled.
[0106] In this way, the cooling module (20) according to the present embodiment and the battery disconnect device (1) including the same are configured so that the cooling fluid flowing through the cooling pipe (200) is fluidly connected to the outside of the cooling module (20) and the battery disconnect device (1) including the same, so that the cooling fluid can be prevented from being lost to the cooling module (20) or other components of the battery disconnect device (1).
[0107] Referring again to FIGS. 3, 6, and 7, a heat sink (300) may be interposed between the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16) of the cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention. As described above, the heat sink (300) is configured to mediate heat transfer between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100) through heat conduction.
[0108] In this embodiment, the heat dissipation body (300) may be configured to entirely surround the lower surface (113) and the side surface (114) of the heat transfer body part (110) described above. In other words, the heat dissipation body (300) may be configured as a heat conductive layer provided with a predetermined thickness on the lower surface (113) and the side surface (114) of the heat transfer body part (110).
[0109] Accordingly, the heat radiator (300) can transfer heat through heat conduction by making contact with the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16) over a large area. Hereinafter, the surface where the heat radiator (300) and the bus bar (16) make contact with each other is referred to as a heat absorption surface (310), and the surface where the heat radiator (300) and the heat transfer body (100) make contact with each other is referred to as a heat emission surface (320).
[0110] At this time, the heat sink (300) of the cooling module (20) according to the present embodiment may be configured to seal the space between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100) for efficient heat exchange between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100).
[0111] This is because, when an air layer having low thermal conductivity is interposed between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100), the heat exchange efficiency between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100) may be reduced due to the air layer.
[0112] To this end, the heat sink (300) may be made of a material having a predetermined elasticity so as to seal the space between the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16). For example, the heat sink (300) may include at least one of thermal conductive rubber, thermal conductive pad, and thermal conductive gel, but is not limited thereto.
[0113] The elastic heat sink (300) may be elastically deformed to fill the empty space between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100) when the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100) are brought closer to each other and combined during the manufacturing process of the cooling module (20) or the battery disconnect device (1).
[0114] Alternatively, the heat sink (300) may be made of a material having a predetermined fluidity that can be deformed and flowed to fit the shape of the space accommodated therein, at least at the time of installation, so as to seal the space between the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16). For example, the heat sink (300) may include, but is not limited to, at least one of a thermal conductive gel, a thermal conductive pad, and a thermal conductive rubber.
[0115] The fluid heat sink (300) can flow into and fill the empty space between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100) when the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100) are brought close to each other and combined during the manufacturing process of the cooling module (20) or the battery disconnect device (1).
[0116] Meanwhile, the heat sink (300) may be formed of a material having a predetermined thermal conductivity. For example, the heat sink (300) may be formed of a material having a thermal conductivity of 1 W / mK or more. However, the thermal conductivity of the material forming the heat sink (300) is not particularly limited, and in any case, it is sufficient as long as the thermal conductivity can be improved compared to conventional rubber, gel, or pad.
[0117] At this time, the heat sink (300) may be made of a material having a predetermined insulating property. This is to prevent a plurality of bus bars (16) and a plurality of contactors (14) from being electrically connected to each other through the heat sink (300).
[0118] Meanwhile, referring again to FIGS. 3 to 7, a cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a heat sink frame (400). In this embodiment, the heat sink frame (400) is a frame that covers the outer surface of the heat sink (300) to protect it from external contamination or impact.
[0119] In addition to the above functions, the radiator frame (400) can perform various functions. For example, the radiator frame (400) can fix the relative positions between the radiator (300), the heat transfer body (100), and the bus bar (16). Alternatively, the radiator frame (400) can fix and maintain the overall shape of the radiator (300).
[0120] For this purpose, the radiator frame (400) may be made of plastic or the like having a predetermined rigidity. At this time, the radiator frame (400) may be made of a material having insulating properties so that insulation performance between the bus bars (16) can be secured.
[0121] For example, the heat sink frame (400) can be formed by mixing a material that can impart electrical insulation and thermal conductivity to a synthetic resin such as polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polycarbonate (PC), polyamide (PA), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), or Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP).
[0122] As an example, the insulating material may be provided with ceramic series fillers such as boron nitride (BN), aluminum nitride (AlN), silicon carbide (SiC), magnesium oxide (MgO), and aluminum oxide (Al2O3).
[0123] The heat sink frame (400) of the cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a bottom portion (410). In this embodiment, the bottom portion (410) may be provided as a plate-shaped member for covering the lower surface of the outer surface of the heat sink (300) facing in the negative direction of the Z axis.
[0124] The bottom portion (410) can extend parallel to the extension direction of the heat transfer body portion (110) so as to cover the entire lower surface of the heat radiator (300). In the illustrated embodiment, the bottom portion (410) extends in the Y-axis direction.
[0125] At this time, the bottom part (410) according to the present embodiment may be provided with a contact hole (411). The contact hole (411) may expose the heat absorption surface (310) of the heat radiator (300) to the outside of the heat radiator frame (400).
[0126] In other words, a portion of the heat radiator (300) may protrude outwardly to penetrate the contact hole (411) of the bottom portion (410), and the aforementioned heat absorption surface (310) may be provided on the protruding portion. Accordingly, the heat absorption surface (310) may be in direct surface contact with the bus bar (16).
[0127] At this time, the contact holes (411) of the bottom portion (410) may be provided in multiple numbers corresponding to the number of bus bars (16). In addition, each contact hole (411) may have a shape corresponding to the shape of the corresponding bus bar (16).
[0128] Through this, the heat absorption surface (310) of the heat radiator (300) can come into surface contact with the bus bar (16) over as wide an area as possible, and the heat generated in the bus bar (16) can be effectively transferred to the heat radiator (300) and the heat transfer body (100).
[0129] Again, referring to FIGS. 3 to 7, the heat dissipation frame (400) of the cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a side wall portion (420). The side wall portion (420) may be provided as a plate-shaped member covering the side surface of the heat dissipation body (300). In other words, the side wall portion (420) may be provided as a plate-shaped member that entirely surrounds the side surface (114) of the heat transfer body portion (110).
[0130] At this time, the lower part of the side wall portion (420) can be connected to the bottom part (410). In addition, the upper part of the side wall portion (420) can be combined with the peripheral part (130) of the heat transfer body (100) in a shape-fitting manner. Accordingly, the heat dissipation frame (400) according to the present embodiment can entirely cover and protect the outer surface of the heat dissipation body (300). In particular, when the heat dissipation body (300) has a certain fluidity, the overall shape of the heat dissipation body (300) can be maintained and the heat dissipation body (300) can be prevented from flowing outward.
[0131] In this way, the heat sink (300) of the cooling module (20) according to one embodiment of the present invention can seal the space between the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16) and transfer the heat of the bus bar (16) to the heat transfer body (100) through heat conduction. In addition, the heat transferred to the heat transfer body (100) can be effectively released to the cooling pipe (200) and the external air. Accordingly, the bus bar (16) can be efficiently cooled.
[0132] In addition, since the cooling module (20) according to the present embodiment is configured to cool the busbar (16) using a cooling fluid with excellent heat transfer performance, the amount of heat energy that can be cooled per unit volume of the cooling module can be increased, and thus the cooling module can be provided more compactly than other types of cooling modules that do not use a cooling fluid. Accordingly, the cooling module can be applied to various types of electric devices, and the utilization of the internal space of the electric device can be increased.
[0133] Meanwhile, referring again to FIGS. 1 to 3, a battery blocking device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a joining member (30). The joining member (30) is configured to join the blocking module (10) and the cooling module (20) to each other.
[0134] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the connecting member (30) is provided as a screw-shaped member and may be provided in a plurality. Some of the plurality of connecting members (30) may be penetrated and connected to the heat transfer member-side connecting member hole (111) and the housing-side connecting member hole (13) of the aforementioned heat transfer member (100) to connect the cooling module (20) and the housing (12) to each other.
[0135] Some of the other connecting members (30) can be connected through the busbar side connecting member hole (17) of the busbar (16) and the housing side connecting member hole (13) to connect the busbar (16) and the housing (12) to each other.
[0136] Alternatively, another part of the plurality of connecting members (30) may be connected to the busbar-side connecting member hole (17) of the busbar (16) and the contactor (14) to electrically connect the two components. For this purpose, the connecting member (30) may be made of a metal having a predetermined conductivity.
[0137] Meanwhile, in the present embodiment, the connecting member (30) is provided as a screw or bolt-shaped member, but the connecting member (30) may be formed in various configurations that can connect the blocking module (10) and the cooling module (20) to each other. Furthermore, if the blocking module (10) and the cooling module (20) can be connected by themselves through shape fitting, etc., the connecting member (30) may not be provided separately.
[0138] Hereinafter, a battery disconnect device according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described with different drawings. Fig. 8 is a perspective view of a battery disconnect device according to an embodiment of the present invention as viewed from above. Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional view taken along the section line II-II of Fig. 8. Fig. 10 is a perspective view of a cooling module according to another embodiment of the present invention as viewed from below. Figs. 11 and 12 are exploded perspective views of a cooling module according to another embodiment of the present invention as viewed from different angles.
[0139] Referring to Fig. 8, a battery disconnect device (1') according to another embodiment of the present invention is disclosed. The battery disconnect device (1') according to the present embodiment may include a disconnect module (10), a cooling module (20'), and a coupling member (30).
[0140] At this time, the blocking module (10) and the coupling member (30) of the battery disconnecting device (1') according to the present embodiment can be configured in the same manner as the blocking module and coupling member of the battery disconnecting device according to one embodiment of the present invention described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 7, and therefore, a detailed description thereof will be omitted, and the cooling module (30') according to the present embodiment will be specifically described.
[0141] Referring to FIGS. 8 to 12, a cooling module (20') according to another embodiment of the present invention may include a heat transfer body (100), a cooling pipe (200), and a heat dissipator (300). In this embodiment, the heat transfer body (100) is configured to release heat generated from a bus bar (16) to the outside and protect the heat dissipator (300), which will be described later, from external contamination or impact.
[0142] In this embodiment, the heat transfer body (100) may include a heat transfer body portion (110) and a pipe joint portion (120). The heat transfer body portion (110) may be provided as a block-shaped member extending in one direction.
[0143] And, the lower surface of the heat transfer body (110) can be placed on the upper surface of the bus bar (16). In this embodiment, the lower surface of the heat transfer body (110) is in surface contact with the upper surface of the bus bar (16). At this time, the heat transfer body (110) can be made of a material having a predetermined heat transfer rate so that heat can be effectively released. For example, the heat transfer body (110) can be made of aluminum or an alloy material containing aluminum.
[0144] According to the present embodiment, the heat transfer body (110) can extend in the Y-axis direction parallel to the direction in which the plurality of bus bars (16) are arranged. Accordingly, at least a portion of the heat transfer body (110) can be arranged as close as possible to any one of the plurality of bus bars (16) so as to effectively absorb heat generated from the bus bar (16) and release it to the outside.
[0145] Of course, the shape of the heat transfer body (110) can be appropriately modified in consideration of the space in which it is placed or its relationship with other configurations. For example, the heat transfer body (110) can have a portion that is concavely sunken or convexly protruding.
[0146] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 12, a pipe joint (120) may be provided on one side of the heat transfer body (110). Here, the one side may be a lower surface facing the bus bar (16). In the present embodiment, the pipe joint (120) is a portion to which a cooling pipe (200) described below is coupled.
[0147] At this time, the pipe joint (120) according to the present embodiment may be provided in the form of a groove (hereinafter referred to as a pipe joint groove) into which a cooling pipe (200) and a heat sink (300) surrounding the cooling pipe (200) can be inserted, as shown. In addition, this pipe joint groove may be provided along the extension direction of the cooling pipe (200).
[0148] In this way, in this embodiment, a pipe joining groove is provided on the lower surface of the heat transfer body (110) facing the bus bar (16), so that one side of the heat dissipation body (300) surrounding the cooling pipe (200) can be in surface contact with the bus bar (16), and the other side can be surrounded by the heat transfer body (110) and not exposed to the outside.
[0149] Accordingly, the radiator (300) can be protected from external contamination and impact by the heat transfer body (110). Alternatively, the radiator (300) can be fixed in position by the heat transfer body (110) and not separated from the cooling pipe (200). Alternatively, when the radiator (300) has a predetermined fluidity, the overall shape of the radiator (300) can be fixed and maintained by the heat transfer body (110).
[0150] Meanwhile, in the present embodiment, the pipe joint (120) is provided in a groove shape, but the shape of the pipe joint (120) is not particularly limited as long as the cooling pipe (200) can be coupled. For example, when the cooling pipe (200) passes through the interior of the heat transfer body (110) and is coupled, the pipe joint (120) may be provided in the shape of a hole through which the cooling pipe (200) is coupled.
[0151] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 11, the heat transfer body (100) of the cooling module (20') according to another embodiment of the present invention may include a heat dissipation fin (130). The heat dissipation fin (130) is configured to effectively release heat of the bus bar (16) transferred to the heat transfer body (110).
[0152] These heat dissipation fins (130) may be provided on the outer surface of the heat transfer body (110) that is exposed to the outside. In the illustrated embodiment, the heat dissipation fins (130) are provided on the upper surface of the heat transfer body (110).
[0153] The heat dissipation fin (130) may have a structure for effectively dissipating heat. To this end, the heat dissipation fin (130) may be configured to increase the area of the outer surface of the heat transfer body (100).
[0154] As illustrated, the heat dissipation fins (130) may be provided as a plurality of plate-shaped members having a thin thickness. In addition, some of the plurality of heat dissipation fins (130) may be arranged in parallel with each other while being spaced apart from each other in the X-axis direction, and the remaining some may be arranged in the Y-axis direction in a manner intersecting therewith. The structure and arrangement of these heat dissipation fins (130) may be appropriately modified as needed.
[0155] Referring again to FIGS. 9 to 12, a cooling pipe (200) may be coupled to the pipe joint (120) of the heat transfer body (100) according to the present embodiment. At this time, the cooling pipe (200) may be configured similarly to the cooling pipe (200) (illustrated in FIG. 1) according to the above-described embodiment.
[0156] At this time, referring to FIG. 9, the cooling pipe (200) according to the present embodiment may have a rectangular cross-section perpendicular to the extension direction. Accordingly, the area of the outer surface of the cooling pipe (200) becomes larger compared to the inner surface, so that external heat can be efficiently transferred to the cooling fluid flowing through the cooling pipe (200).
[0157] At this time, the cross-section of the cooling pipe (200) may be configured such that the width in the direction parallel to one side of the bus bar (16) (i.e., the width in the X-axis direction) is greater than the width in the direction perpendicular or inclined to one side of the bus bar (16) (i.e., the width in the Z-axis direction). Accordingly, the area of the surface where the cooling pipe (200) and the bus bar (16) face each other becomes larger, so that the heat of the bus bar (16) can be efficiently transferred to the cooling pipe (200).
[0158] Referring again to FIGS. 9 to 12, the heat dissipation body (300) of the cooling module (20') according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to surround the outer periphery of the cooling pipe (200) as described above. The heat dissipation body (300) may entirely surround the portion of the outer periphery of the cooling pipe (200) that is coupled to the pipe joint (120). At this time, the heat dissipation body (300) may be configured to seal the space between the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16).
[0159] More specifically, in this embodiment, the heat sink (300) is configured to seal the pipe joint groove. Through this, heat exchange between the bus bar (16), the heat transfer body (100), and the cooling pipe (200) can be efficiently achieved.
[0160] This is because, if an air layer with low thermal conductivity is interposed between the bus bar (16) and the heat transfer body (100), the heat transfer rate between the two components may decrease.
[0161] To this end, the heat sink (300) may be made of a material having a predetermined elasticity so as to seal the space between the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16). For example, the heat sink (300) may be made of thermal conductive rubber or a thermal conductive pad, but is not limited thereto.
[0162] Alternatively, the heat sink (300) may be formed of a material having a predetermined fluidity that can be deformed and flowed to fit the shape between the heat transfer body (100) and the bus bar (16) at least during installation, so as to seal the space between them. For example, the heat sink (300) may be formed of, but is not limited to, a thermal conductive gel or a thermal conductive pad.
[0163] Meanwhile, the heat sink (300) may be formed of a material having a predetermined thermal conductivity.
[0164] At this time, the heat sink (300) may be made of a material having a predetermined insulating property. This is to prevent a plurality of bus bars (16) and a plurality of contactors (14) from being electrically connected to each other through the heat sink (300).
[0165] According to this embodiment, a heat absorption surface in surface contact with a bus bar (16) may be provided on the lower side of the heat radiator (300), and a heat dissipation surface in surface contact with the inner surface of a pipe joint groove may be provided on the upper and side sides of the heat radiator (300).
[0166] Accordingly, a portion of the heat transferred from the bus bar (16) to the heat radiator (300) through the heat absorption surface can be transferred to the cooling pipe (200), and the remainder can be released to the outside through the heat transfer body (100).
[0167] In addition, unlike the cooling module (20) according to the aforementioned embodiment, the cooling module (20') according to the present embodiment may not have a separate heat sink frame, and thus the configuration of the cooling module may be simpler and more compact. This will reduce the manufacturing cost of the cooling module and increase space utilization.
[0168] Although one embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the spirit of the present invention is not limited to the embodiment presented in this specification, and a person skilled in the art who understands the spirit of the present invention will be able to easily propose other embodiments by adding, changing, deleting, or adding components within the scope of the same spirit, but this will also be considered to fall within the spirit of the present invention.
