[0026] The novel compound of the present invention is a compound having an asymmetric spirobiindane structure, and is specifically represented by the following chemical formula 1.
[0027]
[0028] In the above chemical formula 1,
[0029] R1 to R4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, deuterium, halogen, cyano group, nitro group, nitrile group, substituted or unsubstituted C1~C30 alkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C2~C30 alkenyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C1~C30 alkynyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C3~C30 cycloalkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C2~C30 heterocycloalkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted C1~C30 alkoxy group, substituted or unsubstituted C1~C30 sulfide group, substituted or unsubstituted C6~C30 aryl group, or substituted or unsubstituted C2~C30 heteroaryl group, and adjacent groups may or may not combine with each other to form a ring.

[0032] n is an integer from 1 to 4.
[0033] The novel compound of the present invention is characterized by having a core of spirobiindan, in which two indans are bonded in a spiro form, and an asymmetric chiral structure in which at least one substituent extends to only one of the benzenes. The novel compound of the present invention has high thermal stability due to the high rigidity of spirobiindan, which can ultimately improve the lifespan of the device. In particular, it is characterized by having an asymmetric structure in which the substituent extends to only one benzene, and compared to a structure in which the substituent extends to both benzenes, it has a shallow LUMO energy level, so that electrons can be smoothly transferred to the light-emitting layer, and in addition, since the light-emitting region is located within the light-emitting layer due to the wide energy band gap, it has desirable effects in terms of reducing the driving voltage and increasing the efficiency and lifespan.
[0034] More specifically, the chemical formula 1 may be selected from the following chemical formulas 1-1 to 1-4. In this way, n in chemical formula 1 may be 1. According to one embodiment of the present invention, among chemical formulas 1-1 to 1-4, chemical formula 1-1 or chemical formula 1-2 may be preferable in terms of improving electron transfer characteristics, and chemical formula 1-2 may be the most preferable.
[0035]
[0036]
[0037] In the above chemical formulas 1-1 to 1-4,
[0038] R1 to R4, L and Ar are the same as defined in the above chemical formula 1.
[0039] The above R1 to R4 may specifically be hydrogen, deuterium, a substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C10 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6 to C10 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C2 to C10 heteroaryl group, and more specifically may be hydrogen, deuterium, a methyl group, or a phenyl group, and even more specifically, a methyl group may be preferable in terms of improving the electron transfer characteristics by aligning the stacking "sleeve*" of the molecule in one direction. Even more specifically, it may be a substituted or unsubstituted C6~C20 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C2~C20 heteroaryl group.
[0042] According to one embodiment of the present invention, Ar may be selected from the following structural formulas A-1 to A-5.
[0043]
[0044] In the above structural formulas A-1 to A-5,
[0045] a1 to a5 are each independently N or CR5,
[0046] b1 to b8 are each independently N or CR6, and the binding position is C,
[0047] c1 to c10 are each independently N or CR7, and the binding position is C,
[0048] d1 to d5 are each independently N or CR8, and the binding position is C,
[0049] d6 is O, S, N or NR9, but if it is N, it is a binding site,
[0050] e1 to e8 are each independently N or CR10, and the binding position is C,
[0051] e9 is O, S, N or NR11, but if it is N, it is a binding site,
[0052] At this time, R5 to R11 can each independently be hydrogen, deuterium, a substituted or unsubstituted C1~C30 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6~C30 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C2~C30 heteroaryl group, and more specifically, can be hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C1~C20 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6~C20 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C2~C20 heteroaryl group, and even more specifically, can be hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C6~C15 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C2~C15 heteroaryl group.
[0053] In the definitions of the above structural formulas A-1 to A-5, the term “bonding position” means the position bonded to the linking group L.
[0054] According to one embodiment of the present invention, it may be preferable that Ar is a nitrogen-containing substituent including one or more nitrogen atoms N. This is because it can exhibit high electron mobility due to the electron-withdrawing property of the nitrogen-containing substituent.
[0055] Therefore, according to one embodiment, in the structural formula A-1, at least one of a1 to a5 may be N, or at least one of R5 may include N. Also, according to one embodiment, in the structural formula A-2, at least one of b1 to b8 may be N, or at least one of R6 may include N. [0056] More specifically, according to an embodiment of the present invention, Ar may be preferably of the structural formula A-1 in terms of electron transfer, and the structural formula A-1 may be specifically any one of the structural formulas A-1-1 to A-1-11 below. According to an embodiment of the present invention, it may be most preferable that Ar is any one selected from among the structural formulas below, particularly phenyl structural formula A-1-1, triazine structural formula A-1-2, pyrimidine structural formulas A-1-3, A-1-5 and A-1-8, and pyridine structural formulas A-1-9 to A-1-11.

[0061]
[0062] Meanwhile, as mentioned above, since it is preferable that Ar is a nitrogen-containing substituent containing one or more nitrogen atoms N, in the case of the structural formula A-1-1 above, which is phenyl, it is preferable that o is 1 or more, and at this time, R5 is one or a combination of one or more of the above-mentioned substituents, but it is preferable that it is a substituent that necessarily contains one or more N.
[0063] Meanwhile, the above structural formula A-2 may be a quinoline group, an isoquinoline group, a quinazoline group, a quinoxaline group, a phthalazine group or a naphthyridine group substituted or unsubstituted with one or more substituents R6 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0087] The novel compound of the present invention described so far is characterized by having a core of spirobiindan, in which two indans are bonded in a spiro form, and an asymmetric chiral structure in which at least one substituent extends only to one of the benzenes on both sides. The novel compound of the present invention has high thermal stability due to the high rigidity of spirobiindan, and as a result, has the advantage of improving the lifespan of the device. In particular, due to the asymmetric structure in which the substituent extends only to one benzene, it has the characteristic of having a shallow LUMO energy level compared to a structure in which the substituent extends to both benzenes, so that electrons are smoothly transferred to the light-emitting layer, and since the light-emitting region is located within the light-emitting layer due to the wide energy band gap, there are advantages in terms of reduced driving voltage and increased efficiency and lifespan.
[0088] Meanwhile, the novel compound of the present invention described above can be applied to an organic light-emitting device including a first electrode, a second electrode, and one or more organic layers disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode.
[0089] Below, the organic light-emitting device is described in more detail.
[0090] An organic light-emitting device has an organic layer positioned between first electrodes. The organic layer may be composed of one or more organic layers, and specifically, may be composed of one or more layers selected from known organic layers that constitute a light-emitting portion, such as a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and an electron injection layer.
[0091] The hole injection layer (HIL) is a layer that injects holes from an electrode. The hole injection material is preferably a compound that has the ability to transport holes, has an excellent hole injection effect at the anode, an excellent hole injection effect for the light-emitting layer or light-emitting material, prevents the movement of excitons generated in the light-emitting layer to the electron injection layer or electron injection material, and has excellent thin film forming ability.
[0092] The hole transport layer (HTL) is a layer that receives holes from the hole injection layer and transports them to the light-emitting layer. As the hole transport material, a material with high hole mobility is suitable, as it can transport holes from the anode or the hole injection layer and move them to the light-emitting layer.
[0093] The light-emitting material used in the emission layer (EML) is a material that can emit light in the visible light range by transporting holes and electrons from the hole transport layer and the electron transport layer, respectively, and combining them. A material with good quantum efficiency for fluorescence or phosphorescence is preferable. The emission layer may include a host material and a dopant material.
[0094] The electron transport layer (ETL) is a layer that receives electrons from the electron injection layer and transports them to the light-emitting layer. The electron transport material is a material that can easily receive electrons from the cathode and transfer them to the light-emitting layer, and a material with high electron mobility is preferable.
[0095] The electron injection layer (EIL) is a layer that injects electrons from an electrode, has the ability to transport electrons, has an electron injection effect from a cathode, has an excellent electron injection effect for a light-emitting layer or light-emitting material, prevents movement of excitons generated in the light-emitting layer to the hole injection layer, and is preferably a compound having excellent thin-film forming ability.
[0096] The organic layer may further include a hole blocking layer (HBL). The HBL may be positioned between the light-emitting layer and the electron transport layer, and reduces the problem of holes in the hole injection layer invading the electron transport layer.
[0097] Among the organic layers of such organic light-emitting devices, the novel compound of the present invention can be particularly applied to an electron transport layer or a hole blocking layer.
[0098] Meanwhile, the composition of the organic light-emitting device can vary. For example, it can be a tandem structure in which multiple light-emitting layers (or light-emitting units) are provided, and in the case of a tandem structure, a charge generation layer (CGL) can be further included as one of the organic layers in addition to the above-mentioned organic layers. In general, the charge generation layer is composed of multiple layers including an N-type charge generation layer and a P-type charge generation layer, but is not limited thereto and can also be composed of a single layer.
[0099] The novel compound of the present invention can also be applied to a charge generation layer of such a tandem organic light-emitting device, and specifically, can be applied as a host of an N-type charge generation layer.
[0100] An organic light-emitting device in which the novel compound according to the present invention is applied to an electron transport layer, a hole blocking layer, or a charge generation layer can realize low voltage, high efficiency, high brightness, and long life.
[0101] The present invention is described in more detail below through synthetic examples, embodiments, and experimental examples.

[0247] Fabrication of organic light-emitting devices
[0248] Comparative Example 1
[0249] After patterning the ITO substrate to have a light-emitting area of 2 mm Х 2 mm, it was cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and UV ozone, respectively. Afterwards, the ITO substrate was mounted on the substrate holder of a vacuum deposition device and the vacuum level was 1 Х 10 -7The pressure was set to 10 torr. Afterwards, plasma treatment was performed for 3 minutes under a N2 atmosphere. First, HAT-CN was vacuum-deposited to form a 7 nm thick layer. This material served as a hole injection layer. On top of this, NPB material was formed as a hole transport layer to a 90 nm thick layer. Then, α,β-ADN material as a host and TPPDA material as a dopant were vacuum-deposited to a thickness of 25 nm at a mass ratio of approximately 4% to form a blue light-emitting layer. On this light-emitting layer, BCP compound was formed as a hole-blocking layer to a thickness of 5 nm, and on this light-emitting layer, Bphen material was formed as an electron transport layer to a thickness of 20 nm. Afterwards, LiF material was deposited to form an electron injection layer to a thickness of 1 nm. Afterwards, Al was deposited as a 100 nm thick layer to form a cathode, and an organic EL device was manufactured. The HAT-CN, NPB, α,β-ADN, TPPDA, BCP, and Bphen used previously are shown in Table 1 below, respectively.

[0271] In conclusion, as can be seen from the above experiments, the compound according to the present invention can realize low voltage, high efficiency, and long life of an organic light-emitting device when applied to a hole blocking layer or electron transport layer of the organic light-emitting device.
[0272] The novel compound of the present invention is characterized by having a core of spirobiindan, in which two indans are bonded in a spiro form, and an asymmetric chiral structure in which at least one substituent extends only to one of the benzenes on both sides. The novel compound of the present invention has high thermal stability due to the high rigidity of spirobiindan, and as a result, has the advantage of improving the lifespan of the device. In particular, due to the asymmetric structure in which the substituent extends only to one benzene, it has the characteristic of having a shallow LUMO energy level compared to a structure in which the substituent extends to both benzenes, so that electrons are smoothly transferred to the light-emitting layer, and since the light-emitting region is located within the light-emitting layer due to the wide energy band gap, it may be more preferable in terms of reducing the driving voltage, increasing the efficiency, and increasing the lifespan.
