Abstract
Description
Heat exchange unit for circulating water indirect contact cooling tower
[0001] The present invention relates to a heat exchange unit, and more particularly, to a heat exchange unit for a circulating water indirect contact cooling tower that exchanges heat through indirect contact with circulating water returned from a place of use.
[0002] In general, a cooling tower is a type of heat exchanger applied to power generation facilities, steelmaking facilities, chemical plants, semiconductor facilities, and data facilities, and it exchanges heat with circulating water so that it can be used repeatedly.
[0003] The heat exchange method of the cooling tower is an open method such as a counterflow type and a crossflow type that uses the phenomenon of the circulating water losing latent heat of evaporation by scattering the heated circulating water and making it come into contact with the air flowing in from the outside so that the temperature of the circulating water drops below the ambient temperature; a closed method in which the heated circulating water flows inside the coil pipe and is indirectly cooled by the pipe that comes into contact with the scattered water; and a heat transfer method in which a plurality of heat transfer plates are connected and pipes are arranged between the heat transfer plates so that the circulating water flowing through the pipes is indirectly cooled by the air flowing between the heat transfer plates.
[0004] In a typical cooling tower like the one above, contaminants (fouling) such as precipitation contamination, particulate contamination, chemical reaction contamination, corrosion contamination, biological contamination, and coagulation contamination are formed on the inside and outside of the pipes by the circulating water flowing through the pipes and the sprayed water.
[0005] Contaminants shorten the life of pipes and connected equipment and, above all, interfere with the smooth supply of circulating water by narrowing the pipe diameter, so they must be removed through periodic maintenance and cleaning to maintain heat exchange efficiency.
[0006] The reason for the formation of pollutants is that in the case of the open method, the circulating water must come into direct contact with the air for heat exchange, so pollutants such as fine dust, smoke, pollen, and insects in the air are constantly introduced, contaminating the circulating water, and the polluted circulating water deposits pollutants inside the pipes or related devices. In the case of the closed method, as the sprayed water comes into contact with the surface of the coil pipe, water stains and fine dust in the air are deposited on the surface of the coil pipe.
[0007] In addition, in the case of the heat transfer method, since multiple heat transfer plates are connected by welding, if a specific heat transfer plate is broken or damaged, maintenance must be performed to replace the heat exchange unit itself.
[0008] However, in the case of large-scale businesses, there is a critical problem that dozens of cooling towers are connected and operated simultaneously, and in particular, the entire process line must be shut down for cooling tower maintenance and cleaning, so a huge loss of sales must be endured during the maintenance and cleaning period.
[0009] Moreover, when cooling towers are installed in chemical plant facilities, there is a risk of explosion due to residual gas inside the heat exchanger, and in fact, recently, an explosion resulted in casualties during the process of cleaning the pipe lines connected to the cooling tower.
[0010] In addition, since conventional cooling towers are manufactured with a set heat exchange capacity, the heat exchange capacity cannot be selectively increased. If the heat exchange capacity needs to be increased, a separate cooling tower must be installed.
[0011] The present invention has been devised to resolve the above-mentioned problems and technical biases, and its purpose is to provide a heat exchange unit for a circulating water indirect contact cooling tower that fundamentally blocks contamination of circulating water through indirect heat exchange and simultaneously prevents the formation of contaminants in pipes and related devices through which circulating water flows.
[0012] In order to achieve the above object, the heat exchange unit for a circulating water indirect contact cooling tower of the present invention comprises: a support frame having four fastening bars facing in the same direction; a plurality of heat transfer plates, which are arranged in close contact with the support frame through the fastening bars while having inlet and outlet holes through which circulating water passes and heat transfer channels formed on the plate surface, and which form a plurality of closed circuits through which circulating water flows; a pair of fixed plates, which are respectively arranged on both sides of the plurality of heat transfer plates arranged in a close contact state and have boss tubes formed thereon for maintaining the close contact state of the heat transfer plates; and a pair of closing plates, which are arranged above and below the close contacted heat transfer plates and close the upper and lower portions of the heat transfer plates, thereby opening only one side and the other side of the heat transfer plates.
[0013] Here, it is preferable that a receiving groove sunken in the direction of the plate surface is formed at each corner of the heating plate, and that the fastening bar of the support frame is received in each of the receiving grooves.
[0014] At this time, it is preferable that the inlet and outlet holes are formed in the same line on the upper side in the longitudinal direction of the heat transfer plate.
[0015] In addition, it is preferable that the inlet and outlet holes are formed diagonally on the upper and lower sides of the longitudinal direction of the heat transfer plate, respectively.
[0016] Meanwhile, the above heating plates form a single closed circuit by a gasket interposed between the heating plates while the two heating plates are in close contact with each other, and each heating plate having the closed circuit has an outlet and an inlet facing each other so that circulating water can pass through them while in close contact with each other, and it is preferable that the outlet and inlet are connected through a connecting O-ring.
[0017] In addition, it is preferable that at least one additional compartment be formed in the gasket so that the residence time of the circulating water flowing into the closed circuit can be prolonged.
[0018] In addition, it is preferable that the pair of fixed plates are mutually fastened by a pressing means to pressurize the closely attached heating plates, wherein the pressing means comprises: a fastening bolt having a predetermined length that penetrates one of the fixed plates to support the closely attached heating plates and penetrates the other fixed plate; and a tightening nut that is thread-connected to the fastening bolt that penetrates the other fixed plate.
[0019] In addition, the heat transfer path of the above-mentioned heating plate is composed of a circulating water path that forms a heat exchange path so that circulating water can flow in a closed circuit when two heating plates are in close contact, and an air path that forms an air path so that air can flow, and it is preferable that the air path is formed to be larger than the width of the circulating water path.
[0020] Lastly, it is preferable that the cross-sectional area of the circulating water passage and the air passage be 1:3.
[0021] According to the heat exchange unit for the circulating water indirect contact cooling tower of the present invention having the above configuration, heat exchange can be performed through indirect contact while the circulating water returned from the place of use flows in a closed circuit cut off from the outside in the heat exchange unit, thereby enabling the application of pure water circulating water or pure circulating water containing antifreeze, thereby fundamentally blocking contamination of the circulating water and preventing the formation of contaminants (fouling) in pipes and related devices through which the circulating water flows, thereby having an excellent effect.
[0022] Additionally, since there is no need to shut down the entire process line for cleaning as was done in the past due to the absence of pollutants, it has the effect of solving the problem of bearing the inevitable loss of sales.
[0023] In addition, since the heat transfer plate has a structure in which it is connected and disconnected from the support frame through four receiving grooves formed in the corners, immediate maintenance is possible if a specific heat transfer plate is broken or damaged, and above all, the structural effect of allowing for an increase in the heat exchange capacity of the cooling tower is also excellent because additional heat transfer plates can be supplied.
[0024] In addition, since heat exchange using pure circulating water is possible, cleaning is not required, which has the effect of preventing accidents resulting in death from explosions as in the past.

[0033] Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which two heat exchange units are installed in the cooling tower of the present invention.
[0034] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 9, a cooling tower (600) to which a heat exchange unit (200) of the present invention is applied comprises: an air inlet duct (100) into which outside air is introduced; at least one heat exchange unit (200) disposed on one side of the air inlet duct (100) for exchanging heat through indirect contact with air and cooling water while allowing circulating water returned from a place of use to flow through a plurality of closed circuits (A); an air exhaust duct (300) disposed on one side of the heat exchange unit (200) for drawing in outside air through the air inlet duct (100), passing the air through the heat exchange unit (200), and having a plurality of exhaust fans (302) for exhausting the passed air to the outside; a reservoir (400) for storing cooling water sprayed toward the heat exchange unit (200); and a pumping unit (500) that pumps the cooling water of the reservoir (400) and sprays it toward the heat exchange unit (200).
[0035] Before explanation, the heat exchange unit (200) of the present invention prevents contamination of the circulating water by allowing heat exchange to occur while the circulating water flows through a plurality of closed circuits (A) formed by heat transfer plates (220) while maintaining indirect contact with cooling water or air, and the heat transfer plates (220) have a structure that allows disassembly and assembly, thereby enabling easy maintenance and expansion of heat exchange capacity as needed.
[0036] The cooling tower (600) is installed in multiple places of use (power generation facilities, steelmaking facilities, chemical plants, semiconductor facilities, data facilities, etc.) to exchange heat with the circulating water by flowing the circulating water returned from the place of use, as shown in Fig. 1.
[0037] At this time, each cooling tower (600) may be connected to each other through separate pipes not shown.
[0038] That is, by spraying cooling water in the form of a spray toward the heat exchange unit (200) through which the circulating water flows and simultaneously introducing external air to pass through the heat exchange unit (200), indirect heat exchange can be performed while the circulating water is blocked from the external environment by the latent heat of vaporization of the cooling water and air.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 2, the cooling tower (600) has an air exhaust duct (300) arranged on the left side of the drawing, an air inlet duct (100) arranged on the opposite right side of the drawing, and a heat exchange unit (200) arranged between the air exhaust duct (300) and the air inlet duct (100). In addition, a water tank (400) is arranged on the lower side of the drawing, and a pumping unit is arranged on the lower side of the heat exchange unit (200).
[0040] In this embodiment, the air inlet duct (100) and the air exhaust duct (300) of the cooling tower (600) having the above structure are illustrated as facing upward in the drawing, but depending on the installation environment or surrounding requirements, the air inlet duct (100) and the air exhaust duct (300) may be arranged in a state where they are laid down 90 degrees to one side or the other. In this case, it will be apparent that the position of the reservoir (400) remains unchanged.
[0041] The air inlet duct (100) allows outside air to be introduced inside and supplied to the heat exchange unit (200).
[0042] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the air inlet duct (100) has an open inlet (101) having a rectangular shape through which external air is introduced, and an open rectangular discharge port (102) is formed that extends perpendicularly from the inlet (101) and is coupled to one side of the heat exchange unit (200) so that air introduced through the inlet (101) can be supplied to the heat exchange unit (200).
[0043] Although not shown, a mesh net may be installed at the inlet (101) to block the inflow of contaminants from outside.
[0044] That is, the air inlet duct (100) serves to suck in external air by driving the exhaust fan (302) of the air exhaust duct (300) described later and supply it to the heat exchange unit (200).
[0045] The air exhaust duct (300) is arranged on the left side of the drawing of the heat exchange unit (200) described later, and draws in outside air through the air inlet duct (100) facing it through suction, passes it between the heat transfer plates (220) of the heat exchange unit (200), and quickly discharges the air that has passed through the heat transfer plates (220) to the outside.
[0046] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the air exhaust duct (300) has an open exhaust port (301) having a rectangular shape for discharging air that has passed through the heat exchange unit (200) to the outside, and an open rectangular intake port (303) extending perpendicularly from the exhaust port (301) and coupled to the left side of the heat exchange unit (200) in the drawing to guide air to flow toward the exhaust port (301) is formed.
[0047] In addition, the exhaust port (301) is equipped with an exhaust fan (302) for generating suction force into the air inlet duct (100) and the air exhaust duct (300). At this time, the exhaust fan (302) may be equipped with a large fan or multiple small fans.
[0048] In this embodiment, it is illustrated as being composed of a plurality of small fans. This is to enable the exhaust fan (302) to operate in all four seasons, but to select the number of fans to operate according to the change in the outside temperature according to the season.
[0049] That is, the air exhaust duct (300) uses the suction power of the exhaust fan (302) to supply air to the heat exchange unit (200) through the air inlet duct (100) to enable heat exchange of the circulating water flowing through the heat exchange unit (200) and at the same time quickly exhaust the air to the outside.
[0050] Meanwhile, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, an air guide piece (C) may be further formed at a corner formed between the inlet (101) and outlet (102) of the air inlet duct (100) and the exhaust port (301) and intake port (303) of the air exhaust duct (300) to prevent eddies and resonance noise caused by the flow of air supplied to the heat exchange unit (200) and exhausted through the heat exchange unit (200).
[0051] At this time, the air guide piece (C) may be formed as a predetermined inclined surface or curved surface so that the air flow can proceed smoothly, and in this embodiment, the air guide piece (C) is illustrated as being formed as an inclined surface.
[0052] The heat exchange unit (200) of the present invention is arranged at least one between the air inlet duct (100) and the air exhaust duct (300), and allows the heated circulating water returned after passing through the use to flow through a plurality of closed circuits (A) that are blocked from the outside, thereby exchanging heat through indirect contact with air and cooling water.
[0053] The heat exchange unit (200) may include a support frame (210), a heat transfer plate (220), a fixed plate (230), and a closing plate (250) as shown in FIGS. 2 to 8.
[0054] The support frame (210) supports the heating plates (220) described later and maintains the heating plates (220) in close contact.
[0055] The support frame (210) is composed of a support member (213) that supports the heat exchange unit (200) to be installed in a reservoir (400) described later, and four fastening bars (211) that extend from the support member (213) and have a predetermined length facing in the same direction.
[0056] The four fastening bars (211) maintain a 'ㄷ' shape so that their cross-sections can be accommodated in receiving grooves (221) formed at each corner of the heating plate (220) described later, and the lower horizontal piece (212) of the 'ㄷ' shape is accommodated in the receiving grooves (221) of the heating plate (220) as illustrated in FIG. 5.
[0057] At this time, it goes without saying that the four fastening bars (211) are arranged through the support member (213) in positions corresponding to the four receiving grooves (221) formed in the heating plate (220).
[0058] The heat transfer plate (220) is made of stainless steel with a predetermined area and length, and is provided in multiple pieces according to the heat exchange capacity of the heat exchange unit (200). It is placed in close contact on the support frame (210) through four fastening bars (211) of the support frame (210) as shown in FIGS. 3 and 5.
[0059] In the plate surface of each heat transfer plate (220), an inlet hole (222) and an outlet hole (223) through which the returning circulating water passes are formed to penetrate, and a heat transfer path (224) consisting of hills and valleys is formed on the entire plate surface, thereby forming a plurality of closed circuits (A) through which the circulating water flows and an air path (224b) through which the air flows through the close contact of the heat transfer plates (220) (see Fig. 8).
[0060] At this time, the plurality of heat transfer plates (220) arranged in a plurality are formed as a single closed circuit (A) in which circulating water flows by a gasket (227) interposed between the heat transfer plates (220) while two heat transfer plates (220) are each placed face to face and in close contact to form a group, as shown in FIG. 6.
[0061] That is, each set of heating plates (220) has one closed circuit (A).
[0062] And, a set of heating plates (220) having a closed circuit (A) are arranged so that the outlet holes (223) and the inlet holes (222) face each other so that the circulating water passing through one closed circuit (A) can flow into (pass through) the adjacent closed circuit (A) while being in close contact with each other, and the facing outlet holes (223) and inlet holes (222) are interconnected through a connecting O-ring (226).
[0063] In this way, since the outlet holes (223) and inlet holes (222) of each heating plate (220) are maintained on the same line, the circulating water is continuously passed through the plurality of inlet holes (222) and flows into each closed circuit (A), and the circulating water flowing into the closed circuit (A) is supplied again to the closed circuit (A) connected thereto through the outlet holes (223) in a heat-exchanged state, thereby performing repeated heat exchange.
[0064] By arranging the heat plates (220) in this manner on the support frame (210), it is possible to control the heat exchange capacity of the heat exchange unit (200).
[0065] Meanwhile, the gasket (227) forming a closed circuit (A) between a set of heating plates (220) is arranged on the inside along the length of the heating plates (220) and maintains a long rectangular ring shape as shown in Fig. 6.
[0066] In addition, the gasket (227) may further have at least one partition (227a) formed so that the circulating water flowing into the closed circuit (A) can remain on the closed circuit (A) for a longer period of time.
[0067] The partition (227a) forms a kind of wall between the inlet (222) and the outlet (223) to prevent the circulating water passing through the inlet (222) from being immediately discharged through the outlet (223), and the length of the partition (227a) is formed shorter than the length of the gasket (227) to allow the circulating water passing through the inlet (222) to pass through the flow path on the side of the inlet (222) and then to the flow path on the side of the outlet (223).
[0068] In this embodiment, the gasket (227) is illustrated as having one partition (227a), but two partitions (227a) or more partitions (227a) may be formed as shown in Fig. 7(c).
[0069] Meanwhile, in the structure of the above gasket (227), it is preferable that the inlet hole (222) and the outlet hole (223) are formed in the same line spaced apart from each other on the longitudinal upper side of the heat transfer plate (220) inside the gasket (227) as shown in FIG. 6 and FIG. 7(a).
[0070] This is to maximize heat exchange efficiency by inducing the residence time of the circulating water to be longer by allowing the circulating water introduced into the closed circuit (A) through the inlet (222) to pass through one side of the passage through the partition (227a) and the other side of the passage to be discharged through the outlet (223).
[0071] In addition, the inlet hole (222) and outlet hole (223) may be formed diagonally in the longitudinal upper and lower directions of the heat transfer plate (220) inside the gasket (227) as shown in FIG. 7(b) and FIG. 7(c).
[0072] In the case of Fig. 7(b), the circulating water introduced through the inlet (222) is heat-exchanged while passing through the closed circuit (A) and is discharged through the outlet (223), and in the case of Fig. 7(c), the circulating water introduced into the closed circuit (A) flows while bypassing the flow path formed by the plurality of partitions (227a) multiple times, so that high heat exchange efficiency can be obtained.
[0073] As described above, the number of partitions (227a) formed inside the gasket (227) and the positions of the inlet holes (222) and outlet holes (223) may vary depending on the size of the heat transfer plate (220) and the flow direction of the circulating water, so the number and positions are not limited.
[0074] In this embodiment, the inlet hole (222) and outlet hole (223) are described as being formed on the upper side in the longitudinal direction of the heat transfer plate (220). However, since the inlet hole (222) and outlet hole (223) may be formed in different positions depending on the shape or size of the heat transfer plate (220), the formation position is not limited.
[0075] Meanwhile, at each corner of the heating plate (220), a receiving groove (221) is formed that is sunken in the direction of the plate surface as shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, and a 'ㄷ' shaped fastening bar (211) provided on the support frame (210) is received in each receiving groove (221).
[0076] In this way, since the four corners of the heating plate (220) are supported simultaneously, a uniform alignment can be achieved by preventing twisting or warping of the multiple heating plates (220) that are closely attached.
[0077] In addition, as the fastening bar (211) supports the heat transfer plates (220) and the upper and lower horizontal pieces (212) of the fastening bar (211) having a 'ㄷ' shape maintain a flat surface, a closing plate (250) described later can be placed on the upper and lower parts of the heat transfer plates (220) on the horizontal pieces (212) of the fastening bar (211).
[0078] In this embodiment, a structure is described in which a fastening bar (211) is coupled to a receiving groove (221) of a heating plate (220), but the receiving groove (221) may be formed in a spherical shape in the heating plate (220), and the shape of the fastening bar (211) may also be formed correspondingly, so the shapes of the receiving groove (221) and the fastening bar (211) are not limited.
[0079] Meanwhile, the heat transfer path (224) formed by mountains and valleys on the plate surface of the heat transfer plate (220) is composed of a circulating water path (224a) that forms a heat exchange path (A1) so that circulating water can flow in a closed circuit (A) when two heat transfer plates (220) are in close contact, and an air path (224b) that forms an air path (A2) so that air can flow.
[0080] That is, a circulating water path (224a) and an air path (224b) are formed by mountains and valleys in a single heating plate (220).
[0081] When these heat transfer plates (220) are placed on a support frame (210), the two heat transfer plates (220) are placed face to face and in close contact, as shown in FIG. 8, and the circulation water paths (224a) face each other to form a heat exchange path (A1), and the air path (224b) facing the opposite side of the circulation water path (224a) is placed face to face and in close contact with the air path (224b) of the adjacent heat transfer plate (220) to form an air path (A2).
[0082] At this time, it is preferable that the air path (224b) be formed larger than the width of the circulating water path (224a). This is to increase the heat exchange efficiency of the circulating water flowing in the closed circuit (A) by increasing the inflow of air and cooling water into the air path (A2) by forming the cross-sectional space of the air path (A2) formed by the air path (224b) larger than the cross-sectional space of the heat exchange path (A), as shown in FIG. 8.
[0083] Here, the most ideal cross-sectional area size of the circulating water path (224a) and the air path (224b) is 1:3, and if the size of the air path (224b) is formed to be 3 or more, the heat exchange efficiency of the circulating water increases, but the flow rate of the circulating water cannot help but decrease relatively, and conversely, if the size of the air path (224b) is formed to be 3 or less, the flow rate of the circulating water increases, but there is a problem that the heat exchange efficiency decreases relatively.
[0084] The process of arranging the heating plates (220) having the structure as above will be explained. In the process of contacting a plurality of heating plates (220), two heating plates (220) are formed into a group with a gasket (227) interposed between them, and the plurality of heating plates (220) that have become a group are fixed to the support frame (210) in a contact manner.
[0085] At this time, another set of heating plates (220) that are in close contact with one set of heating plates (220) are inverted 180 degrees in the direction of the arrow in Fig. 6 and are in close contact, so that the air path (224b) facing outward faces the air path (224b) of the other heating plate (220) facing as in Fig. 8, thereby forming an air path (A2).
[0086] As the above process is repeated, a closed circuit (A) isolated from the outside is formed between a plurality of closely-packed heating plates (220) as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, and a heat exchange path (A1) through which circulating water flows is formed on the closed circuit (A) as shown in FIG. 8, while an air path (A2) through which external air and sprayed cooling water flow is formed.
[0087] In addition, the inlet hole (222) and outlet hole (223) of the closely attached heating plate (220) are maintained on the same line because the heating plate (220) is reversed around the longitudinal direction.
[0088] Additionally, the gasket (227) placed between two heating plates (220) may be fixed to one of the heating plates (220).
[0089] And, since the inflow and outflow of circulating water are performed at the first and last heating plates (220) of the plurality of closely-packed heating plates (220), it goes without saying that one inlet hole (222) or outlet hole (223) is formed at each.
[0090] The fixed plates (230) are formed in pairs and are arranged on both sides of a plurality of heat transfer plates (220) that are in close contact with each other through four fastening bars (211) of the support frame (210) as shown in Fig. 5, thereby maintaining the close contact of the heat transfer plates (220).
[0091] The fixed plate (230) maintains a shape corresponding to the heat transfer plate (220) so that the pressure can be uniformly transmitted to the heat transfer plate (220) when pressed by the pressurizing means (240) described later, and a single boss tube (231) corresponding to the position of the inlet hole (222) or outlet hole (223) formed in the heat transfer plate (220) is formed on the upper side in the longitudinal direction.
[0092] A pipe is connected to the boss tube (231) of each fixed plate (230) to supply the returned circulating water to the heat exchanger or to supply the heat-exchanged circulating water to the user.
[0093] Meanwhile, a pair of fixed plates (230) are fixed by a pressurizing means (240).
[0094] That is, the pressurizing means (240) mutually connects the fixed plates (230) arranged on both sides of the closely attached heating plates (220) and pulls them in a direction facing each other, thereby pressurizing the heating plates (220) between the fixed plates (230), thereby ensuring that the heating plates (220) are in close contact.
[0095] The pressurizing means (240) is provided in multiple pieces along the edge of the fixed plate (230) as shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, and is composed of a fastening bolt (241) having a predetermined length that penetrates and supports one of the fixed plates (230) with the closely attached heating plates (220) interposed therebetween, and a tightening nut (242) that is thread-connected to the fastening bolt (241) that penetrates the other fixed plate (230).
[0096] That is, by threading a tightening nut (242) on the side of the other fixed plate (230) while the fastening bolt (241) penetrates a pair of fixed plates (230) and supports one of the fixed plates (230), the heat transfer plates (220) are pressurized using a pair of fixed plates (230).
[0097] In addition, the airtightness of the closed circuit (A) is completely maintained by the strong pressure of the heating plates (220).
[0098] The closing plate (250) is placed on the upper portion of the closely spaced heating plates (220) as shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, thereby closing the upper portion of the heating plates (220) and opening only one side and the other side of the longitudinal direction of the heating plates (220).
[0099] At this time, the closed plate (250) maintains a rectangular shape on a plate with a flat surface, and it is preferable that its length has a length that corresponds at least to the length of the closely attached heating plate (220).
[0100] In addition, the closing plate (250) is fixed to the horizontal piece (212) of the upper fastening bar (211) of the support frame (210) that supports the heating plates (220) by means of a bolt or the like so that the upper part of the closely attached heating plates (220) can be closed.
[0101] In this way, the closing plate (250) closes the upper part of the closely attached heat transfer plates (220), a pair of fixed plates (230) are placed on both sides of the closely attached heat transfer plates (220), and the lower part of the heat transfer plates (220) is blocked by a reservoir (400) described later. As a result, only one side and the other side of the heat transfer plates (220) are opened to allow one-way air flow, thereby blocking air leakage to the upper and lower sides of the heat transfer plates (220), thereby preventing air volume loss and maximizing cooling efficiency.
[0102] A heat exchange unit (200) having the structure described above can package the heat transfer plates (220) by assembling a plurality of heat transfer plates (220) in a parallel direction in close contact with a support frame (210), and above all, has a structural characteristic that allows easy assembly and disassembly of the heat transfer plates (220).
[0103] The reservoir (400) collects the cooling water sprayed during heat exchange in the heat exchange unit (200), and is located at the bottom of the heat exchange unit (200).
[0104] In detail, the reservoir (400) is positioned directly below the heat transfer plate (220) which is positioned in close contact with the fastening bar (211) of the heat exchange unit (200) as shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, and the cooling water sprayed by the pumping unit (500) described later is collected.
[0105] The reservoir (400) maintains a predetermined depth so that cooling water can be collected, and a water supply pipe (401) for replenishing cooling water is provided on one side of the reservoir (400).
[0106] In this embodiment, the reservoir (400) is illustrated as being positioned at the bottom of the heat exchanger, but the width of the reservoir (400) may be expanded in the direction of the air inlet duct (100) and the air exhaust duct (300) to expand the storage space for cooling water, so the position and size of the reservoir (400) are not limited.
[0107] The pumping unit (500) pumps the cooling water in the reservoir (400) and sprays (atomizes) the cooling water toward the heat exchange unit (200), thereby causing the sprayed cooling water to flow through the air paths (224b) of the heat transfer plates (220) together with the air brought in from the outside.
[0108] The pumping unit (500) is composed of a pump (510) having a suction pipe (511) connected to a reservoir (400) on one side and a discharge pipe (512) connected to the other side, which is arranged inside an air inlet duct (100) and supplies cooling water sucked through the suction pipe (511), as shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, and a plurality of spray nozzles (520) branching from the discharge pipe (512) and arranged spaced apart from one side of a heat exchange unit (200) and spraying cooling water toward the heat exchange unit (200).
[0109] At this time, the discharge pipe (512) may be connected to the pump (510) and may be arranged to branch into multiple parts inside the air inlet duct (100).
[0110] The pumping unit (500) having the structure as above sucks in the cooling water from the reservoir (400) as shown in Fig. 4 and sprays (atomizes) it between the closely attached heat transfer plates (220) through the spray nozzle (520), and the sprayed cooling water flows through the air passage (224b) together with the air flowing in from the outside, while cooling the air passage (224b) by the latent heat of vaporization.
[0111] Meanwhile, the cooling tower (600) of the present embodiment is illustrated as having a single heat exchange unit (200) arranged therein.
[0112] However, two heat exchange units (200) may be arranged in the cooling tower (600) as shown in Fig. 9.
[0113] In this case, it is preferable to further provide a subduct (D) to secure a spray space for the cooling water sprayed between the heat exchange units (200) and a flow space for the air flowing in while allowing the injection nozzle (520) to be placed between the two heat exchange units (200).
[0114] At this time, the two heat exchange units (200) may be connected to the boss tube (231) of the fixed plate (230) through a separate pipe as shown in Fig. 9 so that heat exchange of the circulating water can be performed.
[0115] In the above manner, multiple heat exchange units (200) can be installed in a cooling tower (600).
[0116] Hereinafter, the process of heat exchange of circulating water by the heat exchange unit (200) according to the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings.
[0117] First, the coolant returned from the place of use flows into the intake holes (222) of the closely connected heat transfer plates (220) through the boss pipe (231) of the fixed plate (230).
[0118] At this time, suction force is generated inside by the operation of the exhaust fans (302) of the air exhaust duct (300), and external air is introduced through the air inlet duct (100) by this suction force (arrow in Fig. 4).
[0119] At the same time, the pump (510) pumps the cooling water from the reservoir (400) and sprays it toward the closely placed heat transfer plates (220) through the spray nozzle (520) as shown in FIG. 4.
[0120] The introduced air and the sprayed cooling water flow together through the air (A2) between the heat transfer plates (220) that are pressed together by suction force, and in this process, the heat transfer plates (220) exchange heat through the latent heat of vaporization of the air and the cooling water.
[0121] In the above state, the circulating water flows while passing through the inlet hole (222) of the close-fitting heating plate (220), and some of the circulating water passing through the inlet hole (222) flows into the closed circuit (A) side.
[0122] The circulating water introduced into the closed circuit (A) flows along the heat exchange path (A1) on the path formed by the partition (227a) of the gasket (227) as indicated by the arrow in Fig. 6, and is heat-exchanged by the heat transfer plate (220) and passes through the outlet hole (223).
[0123] The circulating water passing through the outlet (223) is re-introduced into the adjacent closed circuit (A) and flows again along the heat exchange path (A1) on the path formed by the partition (227a), thereby performing continuous heat exchange.
[0124] This heat exchange of circulating water continues until it passes through the last closed circuit (A).
[0125] The circulating water passing through the last closed circuit (A) flows to the place of use through the boss pipe (231) of the fixed panel, or is supplied to the heat exchange unit (200) of another connected cooling tower (600).
[0126] As described so far, the heat exchange unit of the present invention has an excellent effect of preventing the formation of contaminants (fouling) in pipes and related devices through which the circulating water returned from the place of use flows in a closed circuit in the heat exchange unit that is isolated from the outside while heat exchange is performed through indirect contact, thereby enabling the application of pure water circulating water or pure water containing antifreeze, thereby fundamentally blocking contamination of the circulating water.
[0127] Additionally, since there is no need to shut down the entire process line for cleaning as was done in the past due to the absence of pollutants, it has the effect of solving the problem of bearing the inevitable loss of sales.
[0128] In addition, since the heat transfer plate has a structure in which it is connected and disconnected from the support frame through four receiving grooves formed in the corners, immediate maintenance is possible if a specific heat transfer plate is broken or damaged, and above all, the structural effect of allowing for an increase in the heat exchange capacity of the cooling tower is also excellent because additional heat transfer plates can be supplied.
[0129] In addition, since heat exchange using pure circulating water is possible, cleaning is not required, which has the effect of preventing accidents resulting in death from explosions as in the past.
