Description

[0001] A CONVERTER STRUCTURE FOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS AND A DRAINAGE SYSTEM USING THIS CONVERTER STRUCTURE

[0002] Technical Field

[0003] The invention relates to a converter structure and a drainage system in which this converter structure is used to allow point placement of drainage systems during assembly.

[0004] The invention particularly relates to a converter / connector structure in order to adapt the outlets to each other during the connection of building elements intended to collect and remove liquid, such as shower channels, floor drains or shower cabins, to the siphon or main drain in wet area applications in the construction industry, ensure flow control, provide comfort to the operator, and complete double drainage and liquid isolation with auxiliary elements and a drainage system using this converter structure.

[0005] State of the Art

[0006] Drain systems used in wet area applications are systems that allow the discharge of water accumulated in areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms. These systems usually include a drainage channel, siphons, discharge pipe, and connection to the main wastewater system. The mentioned drain systems are generally connected as a result of the following operations.

[0007] • Preparation: The first step is to prepare the wet area. It must be ensured that the ground is smooth and solid. Additionally, the areas required for the drainage channel, siphons and discharge pipe should be determined.

[0008] • Drainage Channel Placement: The drainage channel is placed on the floor or wall of the wet area. It must be ensured that the channel is in the correct position. The drainage channel usually made of steel or plastic material serves as a channel through which water is collected and discharged.

[0009] • Siphon Connection: Siphons in the drainage channel allow the water to connect to the discharge pipe. Siphons are located above the drainage channel and allow water to flow freely. Siphons must be correctly combined with the draining pipe.

[0010] • Draining pipe Connection: The draining pipe is located at the end of the drainage channel and directs water to the main wastewater system. The draining pipe is connected to the drainage channel using appropriate connection elements or pipe connection parts.

[0011] • Connection to Main Wastewater System: The draining pipe is directed towards the main wastewater system. This can usually be connected to the main wastewater line located inside the building or to a wastewater line located outside the building. The draining pipe is connected to the main wastewater system using appropriate connection elements.

[0012] • Sealing: It must be ensured that all connection points are leak-proof. In order to prevent water leaks, connection elements, gasket materials or waterproof seals can be used. Sealing ensures that the drainage system works effectively and prevents water from leaking into unwanted places.

[0013] In the state of the art, the structures intended to collect and remove the liquid are directly connected to the siphon or main drain pipe, or converter / connector apparatus can be used. Converter / connector apparatus produced for general use restrict mobility and limit the application area. Converter / connector apparatus produced with adequate mobility do not have a double drainage feature.

[0014] As a result of the search on the subject, a patent application titled "Drainage channel" numbered TR2008 / 09423 has been found. The relevant application relates to a drainage channel comprising a foot wall and a groove section with vertically extending side walls in an upward direction, for evacuating liquid.

[0015] It is seen that there are basic technical problems in the applications used in the state of the art, such as limited mobility, requiring multiple parts for a single operation, not having a double drainage feature, and being insufficient in terms of applicability.

[0016] As a result, it has become necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field due to the negativities described above and the inadequacy of existing solutions on the subject.

[0017] Object of the Invention

[0018] The invention is inspired by current situations and aims to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks.

[0019] The main object of the invention is to present a converter structure that will integrate the existing connection part and the eccentric part interlockingly in case of requiring more than one part for a single operation during the connections of the building elements intended to collect and remove the liquid in wet area applications in the building sector and a drainage system using this converter structure.

[0020] Another object of the invention is to prevent the formation of blockages in the siphon due to application errors.

[0021] Another object of the invention is to facilitate the assembly of building elements intended to collect and remove liquid in wet area applications in the construction industry.

[0022] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the invention is a converter structure to be used during the connections of building elements aiming to collect and remove liquid in wet area applications in the construction industry, comprising:

[0023] • an upper cover comprising the following: o a common drainage gap located in the middle part of said upper cover and into which the incoming liquids flow, o an inclined surface for secondary drainage located circumferentially at the top of said common drainage gap to ensure that liquids that do not come into said common drainage gap slide over and flow downwards,

[0024] • a lower chamber with or without gasket comprising the following: o an outlet area at the bottom of said lower chamber to sit on the mouth part of the siphon to be used and to ensure that the incoming liquids are transmitted to the siphon, o a movement gap located circumferentially in the upper part of said narrowed lower body,

[0025] • a movable flange on which said upper cover is placed and positioned within said movement gap in said lower chamber, thus providing mobility therein, and comprising the following: o a primary drainage gap located in the middle part of said movable flange to ensure that the liquid coming from said common drainage gap flows through it and into the siphon, o a secondary drainage gap having a diameter greater than the diameter of said primary drainage gap at the top of said primary drainage gap and into which liquids flowing from the inclined surface for said secondary drainage flow.

[0026] In order to achieve the objects described above, the invention is a drainage system to collect and remove liquid in wet area applications in the construction industry, comprising:

[0027] • a siphon that transfers the liquid conveyed to it to the main drain for disposal,

[0028] • a converter structure as described above placed at the mouth of said siphon,

[0029] • a main body with an inclined structure located above said converter structure, housing the main water chamber, collecting the liquid and directing it to the outlet,

[0030] • a connection part without a gasket positioned at the bottom of said main body to ensure water outlet from said main body and to transmit it to said converter structure,

[0031] • a frame located inside said main body to camouflage the thickness of the flooring and adhesive mortar,

[0032] • a drainage cover placed on said frame to prevent the appearance of drains,

[0033] • a butyl tape to provide locking for insulation at the slope concrete level.

[0034] The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood by means of the drawings given below and the detailed description written with references to these drawings, and therefore the evaluation needs to be made by taking these drawings and the detailed description into consideration.

[0067] Detailed Description of the Invention

[0068] In this detailed description, preferred embodiments of the converter structure (A), which is the subject of the invention, are described only for a better understanding of the subject. The converter structure (A), which is the subject of the invention, will be used in a drainage system (B) used to collect and remove liquid in wet area applications in the construction industry.

[0069] The converter structure (A), which is subject of the invention basically comprises upper cover (20), movable flange without gasket (30) and lower chamber (40).

[0070] Siphon (19) is placed on the static concrete and ensures the disposal of the liquid transmitted to it by connecting to the main drain. Said siphon (19) is preferably selected as an S type siphon, thus it retains partial water and prevents the entry of odors and pests.

[0071] Said chamber (40) is placed on the mouth of said siphon (19), and said movable flange without gasket (30) and said upper cover (20) are placed on it. Thus, the converter structure (A) is positioned at the mouth of said siphon (19). In the converter structure (A), the part where it is advantageous to have no gasket is the movable flange (30). Said lower chamber (40) can be produced with or without a gasket, depending on the structure of said siphon (19).

[0072] In the drainage system (B), isolation membrane (17) is adhered to upper cover (20) located at the top of the converter structure (A). Said insulation membrane (17) is used to provide insulation in case of liquid leakage in the lower layer of the insulation applied on the slope concrete, and is preferably chosen as a fabric membrane. Said insulation membrane (17) is used to provide insulation in case of liquid leakage in the lower layer of the insulation applied on the slope concrete, and is preferably chosen as a fabric membrane. There is a main body (10) on the upper part of said insulation membrane (17). Said main body (10) has an inclined structure that houses the main water reservoir, collects the liquid and directs it to the outlet, and has an integrated, connection part without gasket (16) at the bottom. Water outlet from said main body (10) is provided by said connection part without gasket (16) and is transferred to said siphon (19) through the water converter structure (A).

[0073] Said siphon (19) placed on the static concrete and said main body (10) after the slope concrete to be added on it should be aligned under the adhesive mortar. Bringing said main body (10) to the appropriate height for the installation area is provided by height feet (18). Said height feet (18) are preferably used in two, and they have a gear system that allows height adjustment. There is a sheet holder (15) positioned at the top of said main body (10) in a way that surrounds it. Said sheet holder (15) prevents recoil and odors and has a membrane- integrated structure. It comprises a frame (12) inside said main body (10). Said frame

[0074] (12) camouflages the thickness of the flooring and adhesive mortar and enables a drainage cover (11) to be placed on said main body (10). Said drainage cover (11) prevents the appearance of drains and adds an aesthetic appearance to the drainage system (B). The height of said drainage cover (11) is adjusted with height adjustment set

[0075] (13) connected to said main body (10). Height of said drainage cover (11) can be selected according to the total height of the flooring and adhesive mortar between said main body (10) and said drainage cover (11). Said height adjustment set (13) preferably has a click-fit system and 2 pieces are used.

[0076] In the drainage system (B), while the slope concrete is being applied, isolation membrane (17) is locked and butyl tape (14) is placed. Said butyl tape (14) provides locking for insulation at the slope concrete level.

[0077] Said upper cover (20) located in the converter structure (A) basically comprises insulation flange (21), inclined surface (22) for secondary drainage and common drainage gap (23). Said insulation flange (21) is area on which said insulation membrane (17) will be adhered and is positioned circumferentially at the top of said upper cover (20). There is a common drainage gap (23) in the middle part of said upper cover (20) and the liquids coming from said main body (10) proceed down from here. Said common drainage gap (23) is located lower than said insulation flange (21). The liquids that do not come to said common drainage gap (23) flow downwards by sliding over the inclined surface (22) for said secondary drainage located between said insulation flange (21 ) and said common drainage gap (23).

[0078] Said lower chamber (40) located in the converter structure (A) basically comprises movement gap (41 ), narrowed lower body (42) and outlet area (43). Said outlet area (43) is the part that will sit on the mouth of said siphon (19) and ensures that the liquid is transmitted to said siphon (19). At the upper part of said outlet area (43), there is said narrowed lower body (42) with which it is connected. Said narrowed lower body (42) with its narrow structure ensures that the flow rate of the liquids about to flow into said siphon (19) increases. There is said movement gap (41 ) at the upper part of said narrowed lower body (42). Said movement gap (41) is positioned circumferentially at the upper part of said lower chamber (40). Said movable flange without gasket (30) located in the converter structure (A) is the part on which said upper cover (20) is placed and basically comprises primary drainage gap (31 ), secondary drainage gap (32), secondary drainage catchment area (33), system gear with partial gasket (34) and stopping part (35). Said movable flange without gasket (30) is positioned within said movement gap (41 ) in said lower chamber (40) and has the ability to move there. The liquid coming from said common drainage gap (23) flows to said siphon (19) by passing through said primary drainage gap (31 ) located in the middle part of said movable flange without gasket (30). At the upper part of said primary drainage gap (31), there is said secondary drainage gap (32), which has a diameter larger than diameter of said primary drainage gap (31). For said secondary drainage, the liquids flowing from inclined surface (22) come to said secondary drainage gap (32) and accumulate in said secondary liquid collection area (33) and flow to said siphon (19). There are system gears with partial gasket (34) located circumferentially at the top of said secondary drainage gap (32). Said system gears with partial gasket (34), with their gear and inclined geometry, facilitate the flow of incoming liquids into said secondary drainage gap (32). At the bottom of said movable flange without gasket (30), there is a stopping part (35) formed to recess towards the center of said primary drainage gap (31). Said stopping part (35) is the last point where the liquids that will flow into said siphon (19) will contact the converter structure (A). Said stopping part (35) serves as a guide for all liquids to enter said siphon (19) and prevents the pipes or any object from blocking said siphon (19).

[0079] The application of the converter structure (A) and the drainage system (B) in which said converter structure (A) is used is as follows:

[0080] At the time of application, siphon (19) is first placed on the static concrete. The main drain is aligned and the connection is performed. The converter structure (A), comprising inclined upper cover (20), gear narrowed double drainage supported movable flange without gasket (30) and lower chamber (40), is placed at the mouth of the siphon (19). The connection part without gasket (16) integrated into the main body (10) is placed in the primary drainage gap (31) of the movable flange with gasket (30) with gear narrowed double drainage support. In order to align it to the area where it will be applied on the floor, the main body (10) is moved with the freedom of movement provided by the gear narrowed double drainage supported movable flange without gasket (30). Height feet (18) are used to adjust the height. Then slope concrete is applied. While applying slope concrete, the isolation membrane (17) is locked and butyl tape (14) is placed. Insulation is applied on butyl tape (14). The part of the butyl tape (14) corresponding to the gap of the main body (10) is cut out and the sheet holder (15) with anti-odor membrane is placed at the point where the connection part without gasket (16) meets the main body (10). The frame (12) and the drainage cover (11) are placed inside the main body (10). The floor and drain cover (11) are aligned with the height adjustment set (13) integrated into the frame (12). The process is completed by applying joints around the frame (12).
