Description

Electronic equipment and circuit connection components

[0001] This invention claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office on July 24, 2023, with application number 202310913929.2 and application name “Electronic device and circuit connection assembly”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field

[0002] The present application relates to the technical field of electronic equipment, and in particular to an electronic device and a circuit connection assembly. Background Art

[0003] For foldable electronic products, the components on either side of the bend are typically electrically connected via flexible printed circuits (FPCs). As foldable electronic products expand in size and functionality, the demand for more signals increases dramatically, and accordingly, the width of the FPCs increases. This increases the risk of twisting the wider FPCs during folding, which can seriously impact the FPC's lifespan.

[0004] Summary of the Invention

[0005] The purpose of the present application is to provide an electronic device and a circuit connection assembly to solve the problem in the prior art that the FPC is too wide and thus produces a large degree of distortion during the folding process of the electronic device, resulting in a reduced life of the FPC.

[0006] The present application provides an electronic device, which includes a first fixed part, a rotating part, a second fixed part and at least one layer of flexible circuit board, wherein the second fixed part and the first fixed part are respectively located on both sides of the rotating part along the first direction; the two ends of the flexible circuit board in the first direction are respectively connected to the first fixed part and the second fixed part, and at least a part of the flexible circuit board located between the first fixed part and the second fixed part is connected to the rotating part; the flexible circuit board is provided with at least one strip hole, which extends in the first direction, and at least a part of the strip hole is located between the first fixed part and the second fixed part.

[0007] By setting strip holes on the flexible circuit board, the present application can divide the part of the flexible circuit board located between the first fixed part and the second fixed part into multiple transmission segments with smaller widths, thereby avoiding large twisting of the flexible circuit board during the bending process, thereby improving the service life of the flexible circuit board.

[0008] In a possible design, the length of the strip-shaped hole in the first direction is greater than or equal to the distance between the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion.

[0009] The portion of the flexible circuit board that is susceptible to twisting is located where the flexible circuit board is aligned with the inner edge of the first fixing portion, the inner edge of the first fixing portion being the edge of the first fixing portion facing the side of the second fixing portion. Similarly, the portion of the flexible circuit board that is susceptible to twisting is also located where the flexible circuit board is aligned with the inner edge of the second fixing portion, the inner edge of the second fixing portion being the edge of the second fixing portion facing the side of the first fixing portion. In this embodiment, by making the length of the strip-shaped hole in the first direction X greater than or equal to the distance between the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion, the end of the strip-shaped hole can be extended to the inner edge of the first fixing portion and the inner edge of the second fixing portion, thereby allowing two adjacent transmission segments to be separated by the strip-shaped hole at the inner edge of the first fixing portion and the inner edge of the second fixing portion. Each transmission segment has a smaller width at the position aligned with the inner edge of the first fixing portion and the inner edge of the second fixing portion, and the transmission segments do not affect each other, thereby effectively reducing twisting and improving the service life of the flexible circuit board.

[0010] In one possible design, one end of the strip-shaped hole in the first direction is aligned with the inner edge of the first fixing portion; and / or the other end of the strip-shaped hole in the first direction is aligned with the inner edge of the second fixing portion.

[0011] Among them, when the flexible circuit board is relatively easy to twist on one side of the first fixed part, one end of the strip hole in the first direction X can be aligned with the inner edge of the first fixed part, so that the two adjacent transmission segments can be separated by the strip hole at the position aligned with the inner edge of the first fixed part, so that the transmission segment has a smaller width at the position aligned with the inner edge of the first fixed part, and the transmission segments do not affect each other, thereby effectively reducing the twisting amount and improving the service life of the flexible circuit board.

[0012] In one possible design, the flexible circuit board is divided into multiple transmission segments by the strip-shaped holes, and the multiple transmission segments are parts of the flexible circuit board located between the first fixed part and the second fixed part, and at least some of the multiple transmission segments have different widths along the second direction; the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction.

[0013] The edges of each transmission section connected to the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion have a smaller width in the second direction Y, which can be less than 15 mm, thereby reducing the amount of torsional deformation and even preventing torsional deformation.

[0014] In one possible design, a plurality of the strip-shaped holes are spaced apart along the second direction. The plurality of strip-shaped holes can separate a plurality of transmission segments, thereby ensuring that each transmission segment has a smaller width while ensuring normal function, thereby preventing the flexible printed circuit board from causing significant twisting.

[0015] In a possible design, the width of the strip hole along the second direction is greater than or equal to 1 mm, and the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction, so as to ensure that the distortion of the flexible circuit board is fully absorbed by the strip hole and the overall stability of the flexible circuit board is guaranteed.

[0016] In a possible design, at least one of the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion is provided with a protruding portion, the protruding portion protruding toward between the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion, and the transmission section is connected to the protruding portion.

[0017] In one possible design, the first fixing portion and / or the second fixing portion may include multiple protrusions, and at least some of the protrusions may extend in the first direction to different lengths. The provision of the first protrusions can reduce the distance between the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion at some locations, thereby reducing the length of the transmission section.

[0018] In one possible design, the rotating part includes multiple connecting parts, each of the connecting parts is connected to a corresponding one of the transmission segments, and the distances between at least some of the connecting parts and the first fixed part are different, and / or the distances between at least some of the connecting parts and the second fixed part are different.

[0019] Among them, the position where the flexible circuit board is connected to the connecting part will not twist, but the part of the flexible circuit board between the connecting part and the first fixed part and the part between the connecting part and the second fixed part are prone to twisting. Since the connecting part covers a certain length of the transmission segment in the first direction X, the length of the transmission segment will be reduced, which can achieve the goal of making the transmission segment with a larger width have a smaller length.

[0020] In one possible design, the electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing, and a hinge assembly. The first housing and the second housing are located on either side of the hinge assembly and are rotatably connected to the hinge assembly. Part of the first housing forms the first fixed portion, and part of the second housing forms the second fixed portion. The hinge assembly serves as the rotating portion. This reduces the number of components and facilitates miniaturization of the electronic device.

[0021] In one possible design, the electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing, and a hinge assembly, wherein the first housing and the second housing are respectively located on either side of the hinge assembly, and the first housing and the second housing are respectively rotatably connected to the hinge assembly; one side of the first fixing portion is connected to the flexible circuit board, and the side of the first fixing portion facing away from the flexible circuit board is connected to the first housing; one side of the second fixing portion is connected to the flexible circuit board, and the side of the second fixing portion facing away from the flexible circuit board is connected to the second housing. The provision of the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion as independent structural components can improve the structural reliability of the assembly of the flexible circuit board with the first housing and the second housing, and can also ensure that the flexible circuit board has a stable form within the electronic device.

[0022] In one possible design, the first fixing portion or the second fixing portion is an integrally formed structure. This improves the structural strength of the first and second fixing portions, allowing the flexible circuit board to be fixed thereto, thereby improving the reliability of the relative connection between the flexible circuit board and the first and second housings. Furthermore, it reduces the number of components, thereby reducing the number of component assembly tolerances and ensuring assembly accuracy of the first and second fixing portions.

[0023] In a possible design, the flexible circuit board is divided into multiple transmission segments by the strip-shaped holes, multiple first fixing parts or multiple second fixing parts are provided, and each first fixing part or each second fixing part is connected to a corresponding transmission segment.

[0024] Among them, each first fixing part and each second fixing part can be processed and manufactured separately, which makes it easy to process first fixing parts and second fixing parts of different specifications and sizes. At the same time, each first fixing part and second fixing part can ensure the relative fixing strength of the flexible circuit board and the first shell and the second shell, and can also reinforce each transmission section to ensure the stability of each transmission section.

[0025] In one possible design, a first positioning post and a second positioning post are provided on the first shell and the second shell, a first positioning hole and a second positioning hole are provided on the first fixing part and the second fixing part, the first positioning hole on the first fixing part or the second fixing part respectively cooperates with a corresponding first positioning post, and the second positioning hole on the first fixing part or the second fixing part respectively cooperates with a corresponding second positioning post; the gap between the second positioning post and the second positioning hole is larger than the gap between the first positioning post and the first positioning hole.

[0026] There is a relatively small fitting clearance between the first positioning post and the first positioning hole, which can achieve precise positioning of the first fixing part and the second fixing part. There is a relatively large fitting clearance between the second positioning post and the second positioning hole, which can achieve rough positioning of the first fixing part and the second fixing part on the one hand, and on the other hand, the large fitting clearance can provide adjustment space for the first fixing part and the second fixing part. When the electronic device is folded, the first fixing part and the second fixing part can be automatically adjusted to a suitable position through the gap between the second positioning post and the second positioning hole, so that at least part of the twisting amount generated by the flexible circuit board when bending can be transferred to the movement amount of the first fixing part and the second fixing part in the gap between the second positioning post and the second positioning hole, thereby reducing the twisting amount of the flexible circuit board and improving the service life of the flexible circuit board.

[0027] In one possible design, the electronic device further includes a locking structure, which is pressed against the first fixing portion or the second fixing portion on a side facing away from the first shell or the second shell, and the locking structure is connected to the first shell or the second shell.

[0028] Among them, after the electronic device is repeatedly folded, the first fixing part is adjusted to a suitable position through the gap between the second positioning column and the second positioning hole, a locking structure can be used to press the first fixing part and the second fixing part on the side away from the corresponding first shell and the second shell, and then screws, pins, rivets and other connecting parts can be used to fasten the locking structure to the corresponding first shell and the second shell, so that the first fixing part can be fastened to the first shell and the second fixing part can be fastened to the second shell through the pulling force of the above-mentioned connecting parts.

[0029] In one possible design, the flexible circuit board is provided with multiple layers along the thickness direction of the electronic device, so that the signal quantity requirement can be met by multiple flexible circuit boards, and the width dimension of each flexible circuit board in the second direction Y can be reduced to avoid twisting of the flexible circuit board when bending.

[0030] In a possible design, the flexible circuit board is an integrally formed structure, that is, the flexible circuit board is a whole circuit board, and the strip holes can be directly processed and formed on the flexible circuit board, thereby reducing the number of parts and reducing fitting errors.

[0031] The present application also provides a circuit connection assembly, which includes a flexible circuit board, a first fixing portion and a second fixing portion, wherein one end of the flexible circuit board in a first direction is connected to at least one first fixing portion, and the other end of the flexible circuit board in the first direction is connected to at least one second fixing portion; at least one strip hole is provided on the flexible circuit board, the strip hole extends in the first direction, and at least a portion of the strip hole is located between the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion.

[0032] The present application also provides a circuit connection assembly, which includes a flexible circuit board, wherein the two ends of the flexible circuit board in a first direction are respectively used to be connected to an electronic device, and at least one strip hole is provided on the flexible circuit board, and the strip hole extends in the first direction.

[0086] The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification, illustrate embodiments consistent with the present application and, together with the description, serve to explain the principles of the present application. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0087] In order to better understand the technical solution of this application, the following embodiments of this application are described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are only used to explain this application and are not intended to limit this application.

[0088] In the description of this application, unless otherwise specified or limited, the terms "first" and "second" are used for descriptive purposes only and are not to be understood as indicating or implying relative importance; unless otherwise specified or explained, the term "plurality" refers to two or more; the terms "connected" and "fixed" should be understood in a broad sense. For example, "connected" can mean a fixed connection, a detachable connection, an integral connection, or an electrical connection; it can be a direct connection or an indirect connection through an intermediate medium. For those skilled in the art, the specific meanings of the above terms in this application can be understood according to the specific circumstances.

[0089] For foldable electronic products, the devices on both sides of the bending area are generally electrically connected through a flexible printed circuit (FPC), wherein the FPC can pass through the bending area and can use its own flexibility to cooperate with the electronic product to fold or flatten. However, with the expansion of the size and improvement of the function of foldable electronic products, the number of signals on the FPC has also increased dramatically, which requires the width of the FPC to be wider and wider. However, due to the existence of the assembly tolerance of the FPC, during the folding process of the electronic device, an FPC that is too wide will cause distortion in its width direction, which seriously affects the bending life of the FPC. Figures 1 to 3 are schematic diagrams of an FPC that is too wide after distortion, wherein, for the sake of convenience of explanation, the length direction of the FPC is defined as the first direction X, and the width direction of the FPC is defined as the second direction Y. The first direction X is perpendicular to the second direction Y. The FPC will be distorted in the first direction X, causing part of the FPC at one end of the second direction Y to be compressed and part of the other end to be stretched. Figure 1 shows the state of the FPC when it is twisted 1°. The length of one end of the FPC's twisted area after being stretched is 4mm, and the corresponding length of the other end is less than 4mm. Figure 2 shows the state of the FPC when it is twisted 3°. The length of one end of the FPC's twisted area after being stretched is 6mm, and the corresponding length of the other end is less than 6mm. Figure 3 shows the state of the FPC when it is twisted 10°. The length of one end of the FPC's twisted area after being stretched is 8mm, and the corresponding length of the other end is less than 8mm. The above-mentioned FPC twisting problems will seriously affect the bending life of the FPC.

[0090] To this end, an embodiment of the present application provides an electronic device. FIG4 is a schematic diagram of the electronic device provided by the embodiment of the present application in one state of use, and FIG5 is a schematic diagram of the electronic device provided by the embodiment of the present application in another state of use. Referring to FIG4 and FIG5, FIG4 and FIG5 are merely exemplary illustrations of the electronic device being a foldable mobile phone. FIG4 is the state of the foldable mobile phone when it is flattened, and FIG5 is the state of the foldable mobile phone after it is folded. FIG6 is a partial schematic diagram of the electronic device provided by one embodiment of the present application in a flattened state. Referring to FIG6, FIG6 is an exemplary illustration of the connection state of some parts at the position of the hinge assembly 300 in the foldable mobile phone. The electronic device includes a first housing 100, a second housing 200, a flexible circuit board 1, and a hinge assembly 300. The screen module can be supported above the first housing 100, the second housing 200, and the hinge assembly 300. The flexible circuit board 1 can pass through the hinge assembly 300, and the ends of the flexible circuit board 1 can be connected to the first housing 100 and the second housing 200, respectively.

[0091] Of course, the electronic device can also be a foldable computer, foldable display, wearable device, vehicle-mounted device, etc., which uses a flexible circuit board to connect devices on both sides of the bending area. This embodiment does not limit the specific type of electronic device.

[0092] Specifically, referring to Figure 6 , the electronic device provided in an embodiment of the present application includes a first fixing portion 2, a rotating portion 4, a second fixing portion 3, and at least one flexible circuit board 1. The second fixing portion 3 and the first fixing portion 2 are respectively located on either side of the rotating portion 4 along a first direction X, and the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can rotate relative to the rotating portion 4.

[0093] 6 , when the electronic device is a foldable device such as a foldable mobile phone or a foldable computer, the rotating portion 4 may be a hinge assembly 300, and the electronic device can rotate at the hinge assembly 300 to switch between a folded and an unfolded state. For example, when the electronic device is a foldable flexible display, such as a flexible display including an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), the rotating portion 4 may be a portion of the flexible display to enable the flexible display to bend.

[0094] In addition, illustratively, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can be a housing, a middle frame, etc. of an electronic device, and functional components can be arranged on the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. As described above, for the electronic device being a folding mobile phone as shown in FIG. 5 , the rotating portion 4 can be a hinge assembly 300, and the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can be respectively connected to the hinge assembly 300, so that the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can rotate relative to the hinge assembly 300. Exemplarily, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can also be independent structural members, such as metal sheets, and the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can be installed on the housing or the middle frame of the electronic device, which can strengthen the connection and structural strength of the flexible circuit board 1.

[0095] The flexible circuit board 1 has two ends in the first direction X connected to the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3, respectively, and at least a portion of the flexible circuit board 1 between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 is connected to the rotating portion 4. Specifically, the flexible circuit board 1 can be adhered to the first fixing portion 2, the second fixing portion 3, and the rotating portion 4 using adhesive. For example, when the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 are the housing or middle frame of the electronic device, or are part of the housing or middle frame of the electronic device, the flexible circuit board 1 can be adhered to the housing or middle frame of the electronic device using adhesive. For example, when the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 are independent structural members such as metal sheets, the ends of the flexible circuit board 1 can be adhered to the corresponding first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3, respectively, so that the flexible circuit board 1, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 form an integrated circuit connection assembly. The first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3, each connected to the flexible circuit board 1, can then be assembled to the housing or middle frame of the electronic device. Thus, the constraints of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 ensure the overall stability of the flexible circuit board 1 after installation on the electronic device.

[0096] Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of a relatively wide flexible circuit board 1 in an ideal state without twisting during use. Referring to Figure 7 , under ideal conditions where there are no assembly tolerances between the flexible circuit board 1 and the first and second fixing portions 2 and 3, the flexible circuit board 1 does not twist during operation. However, in actual assembly, there may be certain assembly tolerances between the flexible circuit board 1 and the first and second fixing portions 2 and 3. Furthermore, when the electronic device is repeatedly folded and used, there may be slight movement at the connection points between the flexible circuit board 1 and the first and second fixing portions 2 and 3, which may cause a certain amount of twisting in the flexible circuit board 1. For example, Figure 8 shows a schematic diagram of a wide flexible circuit board 1 experiencing twisting during use. As shown in Figure 8 , when the first and second fixing portions 2 and 3 drive the ends of the flexible circuit board 1 to fold relative to the rotating portion 4, if the width of the flexible circuit board 1 in the second direction Y is too large (e.g., 20 mm to 100 mm, or even larger), the portion of the flexible circuit board 1 between the first and second fixing portions 2 and 3 is susceptible to significant twisting. This twisting can cause portions of the flexible circuit board 1 to be stretched by 3 to 8 mm in the first direction X. As shown in Figure 8 , one side edge of the flexible circuit board 1 in the width direction is stretched by a distance H1 of 3 to 8 mm. This accelerates fatigue at the twisted location, shortening the service life of the flexible circuit board 1. Figure 9 shows a simulation of the flexing life of a conventional wide flexible circuit board. As shown in Figure 9 , the flexible circuit board has a flexing life of 62,000 cycles.

[0097] To reduce fatigue and extend the service life of the flexible circuit board 1, FIG10 is a schematic diagram of the structure of the flexible circuit board 1 according to an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG10 , the flexible circuit board 1 is provided with at least one strip-shaped hole 11. The strip-shaped hole 11 extends in a first direction X, and at least a portion of the strip-shaped hole 11 is located between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. The flexible circuit board 1 is an integrally formed structure, i.e., the flexible circuit board 1 is a single, unitary circuit board. The strip-shaped hole 11 does not penetrate the edges of the flexible circuit board 1 in the first direction X. In other words, the areas near the edges of the flexible circuit board 1 on both sides in the first direction X still have a certain width. These edge regions 12 on both sides of the flexible circuit board 1 can be connected to the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. Transmission lines can be arranged in these edge regions 12. In other words, the flexible circuit board 1 has a transmission line layer internally, and some transmission lines within the transmission line layer can be located in these edge regions 12. These transmission lines located in these edge regions 12 can be easily connected to other devices or circuits external to the flexible circuit board 1, such as external connectors.

[0098] In this embodiment, by providing a strip-shaped hole 11 between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3, the strip-shaped hole 11 can divide the portion of the flexible circuit board 1 located between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 into multiple transmission segments 13. This allows each transmission segment 13 to have a relatively small width. For example, the width of each transmission segment 13 in the second direction Y can be controlled to be within 15 mm. FIG11 illustrates one state of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in this embodiment of the present application during application. Referring to FIG11 , during the folding process of the electronic device, the transmission segments 13 with relatively small widths are less likely to twist. FIG12 illustrates another state of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in this embodiment of the present application during application. Referring to FIG12 , even if the transmission segments 13 do twist, the amount of twist H2 of the transmission segments 13 in the first direction X can be controlled to within 1.5 mm due to the relatively small width of the transmission segments 13. Furthermore, since adjacent transmission segments 13 are separated by the strip-shaped hole 11, the states of the adjacent transmission segments 13 do not affect each other. This small amount of twist has a negligible effect on the fatigue life of the flexible circuit board 1. FIG13 is a simulation diagram of the bending life of the flexible circuit board provided in the present application. Referring to FIG13 , the flexible circuit board having the above-mentioned strip-shaped holes 11 has a service life of 198,000 times in application. Compared with the flexible circuit board shown in FIG7 , the bending life of the flexible circuit board provided in the embodiment of the present application is increased by more than 3 times.

[0099] Therefore, in this embodiment, by providing a strip hole 11 on the flexible circuit board 1, the portion of the flexible circuit board 1 located between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can be divided into multiple transmission segments 13 with smaller widths, thereby preventing the flexible circuit board 1 from generating large twisting during the folding process of the electronic device, thereby improving the service life of the flexible circuit board 1.

[0100] The width of the strip-shaped hole 11 along the second direction Y can be greater than or equal to 1 mm, thereby ensuring that the strip-shaped hole 11 can fully absorb the distortion of the flexible circuit board 1 and ensure the overall stability of the flexible circuit board 1. Of course, in some other application scenarios, the width of the strip-shaped hole 11 may also be less than 1 mm, and this embodiment does not limit this.

[0101] As a specific implementation, the length of the strip-shaped hole 11 in the first direction X is greater than or equal to the distance between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. Referring to FIG11 , the portion of the flexible circuit board 1 that is susceptible to twisting is located where the flexible circuit board 1 is aligned with an inner edge 21 of the first fixing portion 2. The inner edge 21 of the first fixing portion 2 is the edge of the first fixing portion 2 that faces a side of the second fixing portion 3. Similarly, the portion of the flexible circuit board 1 that is susceptible to twisting is also located where the flexible circuit board 1 is aligned with an inner edge 31 of the second fixing portion 3. The inner edge 31 of the second fixing portion 3 is the edge of the second fixing portion 3 that faces a side of the first fixing portion 2. In this embodiment, the length of the strip hole 11 in the first direction X is greater than or equal to the distance between the first fixing part 2 and the second fixing part 3, which can ensure that the end of the strip hole 11 can extend to the inner edge 21 of the first fixing part 2 and the inner edge 31 of the second fixing part 3, so that the two adjacent transmission segments 13 can be separated by the strip hole 11 at the inner edge 21 of the first fixing part 2 and the inner edge 31 of the second fixing part 3, so that each transmission segment 13 has a smaller width at the position aligned with the inner edge 21 of the first fixing part 2 and the inner edge 31 of the second fixing part 3, and the transmission segments 13 do not affect each other, thereby effectively reducing the twisting amount and improving the service life of the flexible circuit board 1.

[0102] As a specific implementation method, one end of the strip hole 11 in the first direction X is aligned with the inner edge 21 of the first fixing part 2; and / or, the other end of the strip hole 11 in the first direction X is aligned with the inner edge 31 of the second fixing part 3.

[0103] For example, when the flexible circuit board 1 is relatively prone to twisting on one side of the first fixing portion 2, one end of the strip hole 11 in the first direction X can be aligned with the inner edge 21 of the first fixing portion 2, so that two adjacent transmission segments 13 can be separated by the strip hole 11 at the position aligned with the inner edge 21 of the first fixing portion 2. As a result, the transmission segments 13 have a smaller width at the position aligned with the inner edge 21 of the first fixing portion 2, and the transmission segments 13 do not affect each other, thereby effectively reducing the amount of twisting and improving the service life of the flexible circuit board 1. The other end of the strip hole 11 in the first direction X may not extend to the inner edge 31 of the second fixing portion 3, but it can also extend to the inner edge 31 of the second fixing portion 3.

[0104] For example, when the flexible circuit board 1 is relatively easy to twist on one side of the second fixing part 3, the strip hole 11 can be aligned with the inner edge 31 of the second fixing part 3 away from one end of the first fixing part 2 in the first direction X. The effect is the same as described above and will not be repeated here.

[0105] Exemplarily, the two ends of the strip hole 11 can extend to positions aligned with the inner edge 21 of the first fixing portion 2 and the inner edge 31 of the second fixing portion 3, respectively, thereby reducing the amount of twisting of the flexible circuit board 1 at the connection position with the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3, thereby improving the service life of the flexible circuit board 1.

[0106] As a specific implementation, referring to FIG10 , a flexible circuit board 1 is divided into multiple transmission segments 13 by strip-shaped holes 11. Referring to FIG11 , the multiple transmission segments 13 are portions of the flexible circuit board 1 located between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. At least some of the multiple transmission segments 13 have different widths along a second direction Y, which is perpendicular to the first direction X. As previously described, the areas of torsional deformation in the flexible circuit board 1 are primarily located between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3, particularly where the flexible circuit board 1 aligns with the inner edge 21 of the first fixing portion 2 and the inner edge 31 of the second fixing portion 3. For ease of explanation, in this embodiment, the portions of the flexible circuit board 1 located between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion and separated by the strip-shaped holes 11 are defined as transmission segments 13. The edges of each transmission segment 13 where they meet the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 have a relatively small width along the second direction Y, which can be less than 15 mm. This reduces torsional deformation and may even eliminate it. Furthermore, the widths of some transmission segments 13 may vary, thereby enabling different signal transmission functions. Of course, in some other embodiments, the widths of some transmission segments 13 may be the same, which is not limited in this embodiment.

[0107] As a specific implementation, multiple strip-shaped holes 11 may be spaced apart along the second direction Y. Optionally, two strip-shaped holes 11 may be spaced apart, and the two strip-shaped holes 11 can separate three transmission segments on the flexible circuit board 1. Optionally, when the overall size of the flexible circuit board 1 is large, more than three strip-shaped holes 11 may be provided. More than three strip-shaped holes 11 can separate more transmission segments 13, ensuring that each transmission segment 13 has a smaller width while ensuring normal function, thereby preventing the flexible circuit board 1 from causing significant twisting.

[0108] Of course, in some other embodiments, when the overall size of the flexible circuit board 1 is small, only one strip hole 11 can be provided, which can separate the two transmission sections 13, so that the two transmission sections 13 can both perform normal functions and have a smaller width to avoid large twisting.

[0109] As a specific implementation, the length of the transmission segment 13 in the first direction X is inversely proportional to the width of the transmission segment 13 in the second direction Y. FIG14 shows another state diagram of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application during application. Referring to FIG14 , the greater the width of the transmission segment 13, the smaller the length of the transmission segment 13 is required to be. The length of the transmission segment 13 can be designed based on the width of the transmission segment 13. The greater the width of the transmission segment 13, the more likely the transmission segment 13 is to twist. Therefore, by reducing the length of the transmission segment 13, the structural stability of the transmission segment 13 can be improved and twisting can be reduced.

[0110] In addition, FIG15 is a partial schematic diagram of an electronic device provided in an embodiment of the present application in a closed state. Referring to FIG15 , when the electronic device is in the closed state, the flexible circuit board 1 can be stretched as a whole, and there are essentially no wrinkles on the flexible circuit board 1. FIG16 is a partial schematic diagram of an electronic device provided in an embodiment of the present application during the process of opening from a closed state to a flat state. Referring to FIG16 , as the electronic device gradually opens to the flat state, the flexible circuit board 1 is gradually squeezed, causing wrinkles on each transmission segment 13 on the flexible circuit board 1. FIG17 is a partial schematic diagram of an electronic device provided in another embodiment of the present application in a flat state. FIG17 illustrates a flattened state of the flexible circuit board 1 shown in FIG11 within the electronic device. The transmission segments 13 shown in FIG11 have the same length in the first direction X, but different widths in the second direction Y. This causes the transmission segments 13 to bend differently when the electronic device is flattened, resulting in inconsistent undulations of the transmission segments 13 in the thickness direction of the electronic device (refer to FIG17 ), affecting consistency.

[0111] To this end, in this embodiment, by making the transmission segment 13 with a larger width have a relatively smaller length and the transmission segment 13 with a smaller width have a relatively larger length, the bending state of each transmission segment 13 after being subjected to force can be adjusted, so that the bending state of each transmission segment 13 can be consistent (refer to Figure 6).

[0112] As a specific implementation, referring to FIG14 , at least one of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 is provided with a protrusion 5, which protrudes toward between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3, and the transmission section 13 is connected to the protrusion 5. The provision of the protrusion 5 can reduce the distance between the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 at some locations, thereby reducing the length of the transmission section 13.

[0113] For example, referring to FIG14 , FIG14 illustrates a transmission segment 13 having three transmission segments, namely, transmission segment 13a, transmission segment 13b, and transmission segment 13c. The widths of transmission segments 13a, 13b, and 13c decrease in sequence, while the lengths of transmission segments 13a, 13b, and 13c increase in sequence. Specifically, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 are provided with protrusions 5 at both ends of transmission segments 13a and 13b, while the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 are not provided with protrusions 5 at both ends of transmission segment 13c. As a result, the lengths of transmission segments 13a and 13b connected at the protrusions 5 can be made shorter than the length of transmission segment 13c not connected at the protrusions 5. Furthermore, the protrusions 5 connected to transmission segment 13a protrude longer in the first direction X than the protrusions 5 connected to transmission segment 13b. This allows the length of transmission segment 13a to be shorter than the length of transmission segment 13b.

[0114] For example, one of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 may be provided with a protrusion 5, while the other may not be provided with the protrusion 5. FIG18 is another state diagram of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application in application. Referring to FIG18 , the first fixing portion 2 is not provided with the protrusion 5, and the second fixing portion 3 is provided with protrusions 5 at the positions connected to the transmission segment 13a and the transmission segment 13b, respectively. This can also make the lengths of the transmission segments 13a and 13b shorter than the length of the transmission segment 13c. At the same time, by making the protrusion 5 connected to the transmission segment 13a protrude longer than the protrusion 5 connected to the transmission segment 13b, the length of the transmission segment 13a with a larger width can be made shorter than the length of the transmission segment 13b with a smaller width.

[0115] In addition, referring to Figure 14, when there are multiple protrusions 5 on the first fixing part 2 and / or the second fixing part 3, a step structure can be formed between the protrusions 5, that is, at least part of the protrusions 5 protruding between the first fixing part 2 and the second fixing part 3 have different lengths, so that at least part of the transmission section 13 can have different lengths to match the corresponding width.

[0116] Of course, in some other embodiments, when there are two transmission segments 13 and the widths of the two transmission segments 13 are different, a protrusion 5 can be provided on the first fixing portion 2 and / or the second fixing portion 3 connected to the transmission segment 13 with a wider width to reduce the length of the transmission segment 13 with a wider width.

[0117] As a specific implementation, FIG19 illustrates another state of the flexible circuit board 1 in use according to an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG19 , the rotating portion 4 includes multiple connecting portions 41, each connecting portion 41 being connected to a corresponding transmission segment 13. At least some of the connecting portions 41 have different distances from the first fixing portion 2, and / or at least some of the connecting portions 41 have different distances from the second fixing portion 3. When the rotating portion 4 is a hinge assembly on a foldable phone, the connecting portion 41 may be a door panel of the hinge assembly. Alternatively, the connecting portion 41 may be a reinforcing structure, such as a metal plate, which may be fixed to the door panel of the hinge assembly. The flexible circuit board 1 does not experience twisting at the locations where the connecting portions 41 connect, but the portions between the connecting portions 41 and the first fixing portion 2 and between the connecting portions 41 and the second fixing portion 3 are susceptible to twisting. Because the connecting portions 41 cover a certain length of the transmission segment 13 in the first direction X, they reduce the length of the transmission segment 13, enabling a wider transmission segment 13 to have a shorter length.

[0118] As a specific implementation method, referring to Figure 19, there can be multiple connecting parts 41, and at least some of the connecting parts 41 have different lengths in the first direction X; along the first direction X, the transmission segment 13 has a first length L1 between the connecting part 41 and the first fixed part 2, and the transmission segment 13 has a second length L2 between the connecting part 41 and the second fixed part 3, and the sum of the first length L1 and the second length L2 is inversely proportional to the width of the transmission segment 13 in the second direction Y.

[0119] 19 , the length of the connecting portion 41 connected to the transmission segment 13a in the first direction X is greater than the length of the connecting portion 41 connected to the transmission segment 13b in the first direction X. This allows the sum of the first length L1 and the second length L2 of the wider transmission segment 13a to be less than the sum of the first length L1 and the second length L2 of the narrower transmission segment 13b. Furthermore, the rotating portion 4 may not be provided with the connecting portion 41 when connected to the transmission segment 13c, which has the smallest width. This allows the sum of the first length L1 and the second length L2 of the narrower transmission segment 13c to be relatively maximized.

[0120] As a specific implementation, as described above, with reference to FIG6 , the electronic device may include a first housing 100, a second housing 200, and a hinge assembly 300. The hinge assembly 300 is the aforementioned rotating portion 4. The first housing 100 and the second housing 200 are respectively located on either side of the hinge assembly 300, and the first housing 100 and the second housing 200 are respectively rotatably connected to the hinge assembly 300. Specifically, for electronic devices such as foldable phones and foldable computers, the first housing 100 and the second housing 200 may specifically be a middle frame or a back cover, etc. The first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 may be the first housing 100 and the second housing 200, respectively. When connecting the flexible circuit board 1, portions of the first housing 100 and the second housing 200 may be used to connect the flexible circuit board 1. Alternatively, Figure 20 is another state diagram of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application in application. Referring to Figure 20, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can be part of the structure on the first shell 100 and the second shell 200, respectively. For example, a part of the first shell 100 forms the first fixing portion 2, and a part of the second shell 200 forms the second fixing portion 3. The first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can be part of the surface on the first shell 100 and the second shell 200, respectively, and the flexible circuit board 1 can be bonded to the above-mentioned corresponding surfaces by glue.

[0121] As a specific implementation, FIG21 illustrates another state of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application during use. Referring to FIG21 , the electronic device includes a first housing 100, a second housing 200, and a hinge assembly 300. The first housing 100 and the second housing 200 are respectively located on either side of the hinge assembly 300, and the first housing 100 and the second housing 200 are respectively rotatably connected to the hinge assembly 300. A first fixing portion 2 has one surface connected to the flexible circuit board 1, and a surface of the first fixing portion 2 facing away from the flexible circuit board 1 is connected to the first housing 100. A second fixing portion 3 has one surface connected to the flexible circuit board 1, and a surface of the second fixing portion 3 facing away from the flexible circuit board 1 is connected to the second housing 200. In this embodiment, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can be separately manufactured structural members such as metal sheets. The edge region 12 of the flexible circuit board 1 can be adhered to the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 by adhesive, so that the flexible circuit board 1, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 form an integral structure. The first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can then be fixed to the corresponding first housing 100 and the second housing 200 by adhesive bonding, welding, or the like. The provision of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can improve the structural reliability of the assembly of the flexible circuit board 1 with the first housing 100 and the second housing 200.

[0122] As a specific implementation, referring to FIG21 , the first fixing portion 2 or the second fixing portion 3 is an integrally molded structure. That is, the first fixing portion 2 can be directly molded in a single process, with one end of the flexible circuit board 1 connected to one of the first fixing portions 2. Similarly, the second fixing portion 3 can be directly molded in a single process, with the other end of the flexible circuit board 1 connected to one of the second fixing portions 3. This improves the structural strength of the first and second fixing portions 2 and 3, allowing the flexible circuit board 1 to be fixed thereto, thereby enhancing the reliability of the relative connection between the flexible circuit board 1 and the first and second housings 100 and 200. Furthermore, it reduces the number of components, thereby reducing the number of component assembly tolerances and ensuring the assembly accuracy of the first and second fixing portions 2 and 3. Furthermore, since the first and second fixing portions 2 or 3 are integrally molded, corresponding protrusions 5 can be directly molded at corresponding locations during the molding process of the first and second fixing portions 2 or 3.

[0123] As a specific implementation, FIG22 illustrates another state of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application during use. Referring to FIG22 , the flexible circuit board 1 is divided into multiple transmission segments 13 by strip-shaped holes 11. Multiple first fixing portions 2 or second fixing portions 3 are provided, each of which is connected to a corresponding transmission segment 13. In this embodiment, each first fixing portion 2 and each second fixing portion 3 can be manufactured separately, thereby facilitating the production of first fixing portions 2 and second fixing portions 3 of varying sizes. Furthermore, each first fixing portion 2 and second fixing portion 3 can ensure the relative fixing strength between the flexible circuit board 1 and the first and second housings 100 and 200, while also reinforcing each transmission segment 13 and ensuring its stability. Referring to FIG22 , for example, a first fixing portion 2 with a smaller length in the first direction X can be manufactured separately so that it does not protrude beyond the edge of the first housing 100. This first fixing portion 2 can be connected to the transmission segment 13c, thereby increasing the length of the smaller transmission segment 13c. For example, a first fixing portion 2 with a larger length dimension in the first direction X can also be processed separately, so that at least part of the first fixing portion 2 can protrude from the edge of the first shell 100 to form a protrusion 5. The first fixing portion 2 can be connected to the transmission segment 13a or the transmission segment 13b so that the transmission segment 13a or the transmission segment 13b with a larger width can obtain a smaller length.

[0124] As a specific implementation method, Figure 23 is another state diagram of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application in application. Referring to Figure 23, the first shell 100 and the second shell 200 are both provided with a first positioning column 400 and a second positioning column 500, the first fixing part 2 and the second fixing part 3 are both independently processed and manufactured structural parts, and the first fixing part 2 and the second fixing part 3 are both provided with a first positioning hole 600 and a second positioning hole 700, the first positioning hole 600 on the first fixing part 2 or the second fixing part 3 is respectively matched with a corresponding first positioning column 400, and the second positioning hole 700 on the first fixing part 2 or the second fixing part 3 is respectively matched with a corresponding second positioning column 500; the gap between the second positioning column 500 and the second positioning hole 700 is greater than the gap between the first positioning column 400 and the first positioning hole 600.

[0125] A relatively small clearance exists between the first positioning post 400 and the first positioning hole 600, enabling precise positioning of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. A relatively large clearance exists between the second positioning post 500 and the second positioning hole 700, enabling rough positioning of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. Furthermore, the large clearance provides adjustment space for the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3. When the electronic device is folded, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 can automatically adjust to the appropriate position through the clearance between the second positioning post 500 and the second positioning hole 700, thereby transferring at least part of the twisting motion of the flexible circuit board 1 during bending to the movement of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 in the clearance between the second positioning post 500 and the second positioning hole 700. This reduces the twisting motion of the flexible circuit board 1 and improves the service life of the flexible circuit board 1.

[0126] For example, Figure 24 is a schematic diagram of the electronic device provided by an embodiment of the present application in a flattened state before folding. Referring to Figure 24, when determining the appropriate positions of the above-mentioned first fixing part 2 and the second fixing part 3 relative to the first shell 100 and the second shell 200, the first fixing part 2 and the second fixing part 3 can be placed on the corresponding first shell 100 and the second shell 200 respectively, and at the same time, the first positioning hole 600 can be sleeved on the corresponding first positioning column 400, and the second positioning hole 700 can be sleeved on the corresponding second positioning column 500, while the first fixing part 2 and the second fixing part 3 will not be fastened to the corresponding first shell 100 and the second shell 200. At this time, there is a gap a between the first positioning column 400 and the first positioning hole 600 on the first fixing part 2, and there is also a gap a between the first positioning column 400 and the first positioning hole 600 on the second fixing part 3. The two gaps a exist on the side where the two first positioning columns 400 are close to each other.

[0127] The electronic device can then be folded repeatedly. During the folding process, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 automatically adjust to the appropriate position using the gap between the second positioning hole 700 and the second positioning post 500. After a certain number of repeated foldings, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 tend to a stable position relative to the corresponding first shell 100 and second shell 200. This stable position is the appropriate position to be determined above. Figure 25 is a schematic diagram of an electronic device provided by an embodiment of the present application in a flattened state after repeated folding. Referring to Figure 25, there is a gap b between the second positioning post 500 and the second positioning hole 700 on the first fixing portion 2, and there is also a gap b between the second positioning post 500 and the second positioning hole 700 on the second fixing portion 3. The gaps b at these two locations are respectively located on the side where the two second positioning posts 500 are separated from each other, and there is no gap on the side where the two second positioning posts 500 are closer to each other. In other words, after repeated folding of the electronic device, the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 adjust toward each other and tend to stabilize. In this position, the flexible circuit board 1 experiences minimal torsional deformation during the bending process.

[0128] As a specific implementation, FIG26 shows another state diagram of the flexible circuit board 1 provided in an embodiment of the present application during use. Referring to FIG26 , the electronic device further includes a locking structure 6, which is pressed against the side of the first fixing portion 2 or the second fixing portion 3 facing away from the first housing 100 or the second housing 200, and the locking structure 6 is connected to the first housing 100 or the second housing 200. After the electronic device is repeatedly folded and the first fixing portion 2 is adjusted to a suitable position by the gap between the second positioning post 500 and the second positioning hole 700, the locking structure 6 can be pressed against the side of the first fixing portion 2 and the second fixing portion 3 facing away from the corresponding first housing 100 and the second housing 200. The locking structure 6 can then be fastened to the corresponding first housing 100 and the second housing 200 using connecting members such as screws, pins, and rivets. Thus, the first fixing portion 2 can be fastened to the first housing 100, and the second fixing portion 3 can be fastened to the second housing 200, by the pulling force of the connecting members.

[0129] As a specific implementation, FIG27 illustrates another state diagram of a flexible circuit board 1 in use according to an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG27 , the flexible circuit board 1 is provided with multiple layers along the thickness direction Z of the electronic device. FIG27 exemplarily illustrates a flexible circuit board 1 provided with three layers. When a large number of signals need to be transmitted on the flexible circuit board 1, a larger flexible circuit board 1 is required. Since the length of the flexible circuit board 1 in the first direction X is relatively fixed, the required number of signals can only be met by increasing the width of the flexible circuit board 1 in the second direction Y. However, increasing the width of the flexible circuit board 1 results in a greater amount of twisting when the flexible circuit board 1 is bent.

[0130] To this end, in this embodiment, by stacking multiple layers of flexible circuit boards 1 in the thickness direction Z of the electronic device, the signal quantity requirement can be met by multiple flexible circuit boards 1, and the width dimension of each flexible circuit board 1 in the second direction Y can be reduced, thereby avoiding twisting of the flexible circuit board 1 when bending.

[0131] The structure and dimensions of each layer of flexible circuit boards can be identical or different. For example, referring to Figures 10 and 27 , all three layers of flexible circuit boards can adopt the structure shown in Figure 10 , where each layer of flexible circuit boards is provided with two strip holes 11, and three transmission segments are separated by the two strip holes 11. For example, Figure 28 is an exploded view of a multilayer flexible circuit board in the thickness direction Z of an electronic device. Referring to Figure 28 , the three layers of flexible circuit boards, from top to bottom, are flexible circuit board 1a, flexible circuit board 1b, and flexible circuit board 1c. Flexible circuit board 1a has one strip hole 11, while flexible circuit boards 1b and 1c each have two strip holes 11. The width of flexible circuit board 1a in the second direction Y is smaller than the widths of flexible circuit boards 1b and 1c in the second direction Y. If the width of flexible circuit board 1a in the second direction Y is sufficiently small, for example, less than 15 mm, then the strip holes 11 may not be required on flexible circuit board 1a.

[0132] In addition, in some other embodiments, the flexible circuit board may be provided with only two layers, or may be provided with more than three layers, which is not limited in this embodiment.

[0133] The above are merely preferred embodiments of the present application and are not intended to limit the present application. Those skilled in the art will readily appreciate that various modifications and variations are possible. Any modifications, equivalent substitutions, or improvements made within the spirit and principles of the present application shall be included within the scope of protection of the present application.
