Description

Skin temperature and time-sensitive hydrogel mask pack composition and method for manufacturing the same

[0001] The present invention relates to a skin temperature and time-sensitive hydrogel mask pack composition and a method for manufacturing the same.

[0002] Hydrogels are materials with a three-dimensional hydrophilic polymer network structure using water as a dispersion medium, with water comprising 70% of their total weight. Furthermore, extensive research has been conducted on their viscosity, elasticity, skin adhesion, and biocompatibility, demonstrating their potential for use in biomedical applications such as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

[0003] Recently, research and development are underway for hydrogel masks, focusing on both moisturizing formulations and those that visually become transparent (Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2018-0026521). However, these prior technologies focus solely on moisturizing, utilizing oil-based ingredients and the ability of the formulation to change from opaque to transparent over time based on skin temperature and time. Therefore, compared to standard hydrogel masks, these technologies offer little difference beyond visual appeal.

[0004] Accordingly, the inventors of the present invention developed a hydrogel mask pack composition that changes variably in opacity depending on skin temperature and time in order to diversify the formulation of the hydrogel mask pack, and confirmed the aesthetic and functional effects thereof, thereby completing the present invention.

[0022] Another aspect is to provide a hydrogel mask pack manufactured by the above hydrogel mask pack manufacturing method.

[0023] Other purposes and advantages of this application will be further clarified by the detailed description below, taken in conjunction with the appended claims and drawings. Any details not described herein will be readily apparent and inferred by those skilled in the technical field of this application or similar technical fields, and therefore, their description will be omitted.

[0024] Each description and embodiment disclosed in this application may also be applied to each other description and embodiment. That is, all combinations of the various elements disclosed in this application fall within the scope of this application. Furthermore, the scope of this application is not limited by the specific descriptions described below.

[0025] One aspect provides a hydrogel mask pack composition comprising silica, polyol, and a gelling agent.

[0026] In this specification, the term 'silica' means silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ) and may include at least one selected from the group consisting of silica, hydrated silica, alumina magnesium metasilicate, aluminum calcium sodium silicate, aluminum iron silicate, and sodium potassium aluminum silicate.

[0027] The silica may be included in an amount of 10.0 to 20.0 wt%, 10.0 to 18.0 wt%, 10.0 to 15.0 wt%, 12.0 to 20.0 wt%, 12.0 to 18.0 wt%, 12.0 to 15.0 wt%, or 15.0 to 20.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition. If it is less than 10.0 wt% outside this range, variable opacity may not appear, and if it exceeds 20.0 wt%, it interferes with maintaining the properties of the hydrogel, resulting in low stability of the formulation and difficulty in forming a mask pack.

[0028] In one embodiment, the hydrogel mask pack may have variable opacity depending on skin temperature and time by including silica in the above range.

[0029] The above polyol may include at least one member selected from the group consisting of glycerin, 1,3-butylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, propylene glycol, and 1,2-hexanediol.

[0030] The polyol may be included in an amount of 1.0 to 20.0 wt%, 1.0 to 15.0 wt%, 1.0 to 10.0 wt%, 1.0 to 9.0 wt%, 1.0 to 8.0 wt%, 1.0 to 7.0 wt%, 1.0 to 6.0 wt%, 1.0 to 5.0 wt%, 3.0 to 20.0 wt%, 3.0 to 15.0 wt%, 3.0 to 10.0 wt%, 5.0 to 20.0 wt%, 5.0 to 15.0 wt%, or 5.0 to 10.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition. If the content is too low outside this range, the hydrogel mask pack may not provide sufficient moisture, and if it is too high, it may hinder the evaporation of moisture from the silica, preventing the hydrogel mask pack from reaching opacity in a short period of time and may cause problems with formulation stability.

[0031] In one specific example, the polyol may be included in an amount of 1.0 to 10.0 wt%.

[0032] In one embodiment, a hydrogel mask pack including silica can increase the formulation stability of the composition while shortening the time it takes for the mask pack to become opaque by lowering the content of polyol, a moisturizing agent.

[0033] The above gelling agent may include at least one selected from the group consisting of carrageenan, carob gum, xanthan gum, cellulose gum, guar gum, tamarind gum, algin, gellan gum, carbomer, agar, sodium polyacrylate, glucomannan, and tara gum.

[0034] In one embodiment, the gelling agent may include carrageenan, carob gum, xanthan gum, and cellulose.

[0035] In this specification, 'carrageenan' means a polysaccharide obtained by hot water extraction from Irish moss, a red algae, and its basic structure is a galactose polymer.

[0036] In this specification, 'carob gum' is obtained by crushing the seeds of the mature fruit of carob beans (Ceratonia siliqua).

[0037] In this specification, 'xanthan gum' is a white powder that is soluble in water, is tasteless and odorless, has excellent viscosity and heat resistance, and has little decrease in viscosity even when heated.

[0038] In this specification, 'cellulose gum' refers to the sodium salt component of polycarboxymethyl ether of cellulose, and may be used interchangeably with the terms sodium carboxymethyl cellulose or CMC.

[0039] In one specific example, the gelling agent may be included in an amount of 0.1 to 5.0 wt%, 0.1 to 4.0 wt%, 0.1 to 3.0 wt%, 0.1 to 2.0 wt%, 0.1 to 1.0 wt%, 0.5 to 5.0 wt%, 0.5 to 4.0 wt%, 0.5 to 3.0 wt%, 0.5 to 2.0 wt%, 0.5 to 1.0 wt%, 1.0 to 5.0 wt%, 1.0 to 4.0 wt%, 1.0 to 3.0 wt%, or 1.0 to 2.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition. If the content is too low outside this range, curing may not occur upon cooling, and if the content is too high, a problem may arise in which it is difficult to form a mask pack.

[0040] In this specification, 'hydrogel' is a material having a three-dimensional hydrophilic polymer network structure using water as a dispersion medium, which can rapidly swell upon contact with water and contain a large amount of water within the structure.

[0041] In one specific embodiment, the hydrogel mask pack composition may have variable opacity in response to skin temperature and time.

[0042] In this specification, the term 'variable opacity' means that the turbidity increases from a transparent initial state to an opaque state.

[0043] The term 'sensitivity' in this specification refers to the physical property of the formulation to change depending on skin temperature and time.

[0044] In one specific example, the time may be 15 to 120 minutes, 15 to 100 minutes, 15 to 80 minutes, 15 to 60 minutes, 15 to 40 minutes, 15 to 30 minutes, 20 to 120 minutes, 20 to 100 minutes, 20 to 80 minutes, 20 to 60 minutes, 20 to 40 minutes, 30 to 120 minutes, 30 to 100 minutes, 30 to 80 minutes, 30 to 60 minutes, or 30 to 40 minutes, but is not limited thereto and may be changed depending on the skin temperature of the mask pack user, the content of silica and polyol, etc.

[0045] In one embodiment, the hydrogel mask pack composition, by including silica, initially exhibits transparency when in a gel state, but gradually transforms into a sol in response to skin temperature and time, thereby changing the gel to an opaque state. Furthermore, by appropriately adjusting the contents of silica, polyol, and gelling agent, the opacity can be controlled to exhibit an appropriate amount of time.

[0046] The hydrogel mask pack composition according to the aspect can provide an aesthetic element to the user by changing the gel to be opaque, and can also serve as a visual indicator to the user when to remove the mask pack.

[0047] In one specific example, the hydrogel mask pack composition may further include potassium chloride. Potassium chloride is a substance that functions to improve the strength of the gel. If the content of potassium chloride exceeds 0.5 wt% of the total composition ratio, it may have an undesirable effect on the formulation, and if it is less than 0.05 wt%, the improvement in gel strength may not meet expectations.

[0048] In one specific example, the hydrogel mask pack composition may further include a thickener, a functional additive, a moisturizer, a surfactant, a preservative, a crosslinking agent, an inorganic pigment, or an organic pigment.

[0049] The above functional additive may be at least one selected from the group consisting of panthenol, hyaluronic acid, ceramide, beta-glucan, arbutin, vitamin C, whiteness, retinol, elastin, collagen, coenzyme Q10, propolis, allantoin, adenosine, niacinamide, hydrolyzed collagen, hydrolyzed elastin, and antioxidant vitamin E (natural tocopherol).

[0050] The above inorganic pigment may be at least one selected from the group consisting of red iron oxide, yellow iron oxide, chromium oxide green, ultramarine, titanium dioxide, mica, synthetic fluorphlogopite, and tin oxide.

[0051] The above organic pigment may be at least one selected from the group consisting of Red No. 202, Red No. 104, Red No. 102, Red No. 504, Blue No. 1, Blue No. 404, Yellow No. 1, Yellow No. 4, Yellow No. 5, and Yellow No. 203.

[0052] Another aspect is

[0053] a) A step of preparing a silica aqueous solution by mixing silica in purified water at 10.0 to 20.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition;

[0054] b) a step of wetting the gelling agent with polyol; and

[0055] c) a step of mixing the silica aqueous solution and the wet gelling agent at 70°C to 100°C;

[0056] A method for producing a hydrogel mask pack composition can be provided, wherein the gelling agent is in an amount of 1.0 to 5.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition, and the polyol is in an amount of 1.0 to 20.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition.

[0057] In the above manufacturing method, silica, polyol and gelling agent are as described above.

[0058] In step a) or step b), stirring may be performed for 10 to 30 minutes.

[0059] The mixing step in the above step c) may be performed at 70°C to 100°C, 70°C to 90°C, 70°C to 80°C, 80°C to 100°C, 80°C to 90°C, 85°C to 100°C, 85°C to 90°C, or 85°C to 95°C. If the temperature is outside the above range, uniform stirring may not occur.

[0060] The mixing step in step c) above may be performed for 30 minutes to 3 hours, 1 hour to 3 hours, 30 minutes to 2 hours, 1 hour to 2 hours, or 30 minutes to 1 hour. If the mixing time is outside the above range, sufficient mixing may not be achieved.

[0061] Another aspect is

[0062] a) A step of preparing a silica aqueous solution by mixing silica in purified water at 10.0 to 20.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition;

[0063] b) a step of wetting the gelling agent with polyol;

[0064] c) a step of mixing the silica aqueous solution and the wet gelling agent at 70°C to 100°C;

[0065] d) a step of compressively coating the hydrogel mask pack composition to a thickness of 0.01 to 2.0 mm; and

[0066] e) a step of cooling the compression-coated hydrogel mask pack composition at 1°C to 10°C to form a hydrogel and then molding it;

[0067] The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a hydrogel mask pack, wherein the gelling agent is present in an amount of 1.0 to 5.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition, and the polyol is present in an amount of 1.0 to 20.0 wt% based on the total weight of the composition.

[0068] In the above hydrogel mask pack manufacturing method, silica, polyol, gelling agent and manufacturing method are as described above.

[0069] The above-mentioned applying step may be a step of applying with a thickness of 0.01 to 2.0 mm, 0.01 to 1.5 mm, 0.01 to 1.0 mm, 0.01 to 0.9 mm, 0.01 to 0.8 mm, 0.5 to 2.0 mm, 0.5 to 1.5 mm, 0.5 to 1.0 mm, 0.5 to 0.9 mm, or 0.5 to 0.8 mm. If it is too thin outside of this range, there is a possibility of it being easily torn, and if it is too thick, there may be a problem that it is difficult for moisture to evaporate and thus cannot reach opacity in a short period of time.

[0070] Another aspect provides a hydrogel mask pack manufactured by the above manufacturing method.

[0071] In the above hydrogel mask pack manufacturing method, the manufacturing method is as described above.

[0072] A hydrogel mask pack according to the daily aspect can provide an aesthetic element to the user by changing its opacity in response to the user's skin temperature and time by including silica, and can also serve as a visual indicator of when to remove the mask pack.

[0073] In one specific example, the hydrogel mask pack may include a support, and the support may be at least one selected from the group consisting of cotton, Tencel, cupro, Rayon, nylon, gauze, and Bamlije.

[0074] In one specific example, the hydrogel mask pack may be in the form of a facial mask pack, an eye patch, a butt patch, a lip patch, a chest patch, or a partial patch applied to a specific part of the body.

[0075] A hydrogel mask pack composition comprising silica, polyol, and a gelling agent according to an aspect of the present invention can change opacity variably depending on skin temperature and usage time, thereby enhancing aesthetics for the user and visually providing the user with an indication of when to remove the mask pack.

[0076] Figure 1 is a flowchart showing a manufacturing process of a hydrogel mask pack according to one embodiment.

[0077] Figure 2 is a formulation photograph showing the color change over time of a hydrogel mask pack manufactured using the hydrogel mask pack composition of Example 4.

[0078] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with manufacturing examples, examples, and experimental examples to specifically explain the present invention. [0082] Manufacturing Example 2. Manufacturing of a hydrogel mask pack

[0083] The hydrogel mask pack composition manufactured in the above Manufacturing Example 1 was applied to a thickness of 0.7 mm using a roller-type coater, cooled at 1°C to 10°C to manufacture a hydrogel, and then molded into a hydrogel mask pack.

[0084] Figure 1 is a flowchart showing a manufacturing process of a hydrogel mask pack according to one embodiment.

[0085] Experimental Example 1. Evaluation of Transparency Changes

[0086] The hydrogel mask packs manufactured using Examples 1 and 2 or Comparative Examples 1 to 3 were visually evaluated to determine whether they had variable opacity in response to skin temperature and time. Specifically, the hydrogel mask packs manufactured using the hydrogel mask pack compositions of Examples 1 and 2 or Comparative Examples 1 to 3 were attached to the skin and the time from transparency to opacity was measured. The results are shown in Table 2 below.

[0087] Example 1 Example 2 Comparative Example 1 Comparative Example 2 Comparative Example 3 Variable Opacity ○○XXX Time from transparent to opaque (unit: minutes) 120100---

[0088] For Examples 1 and 2, it was confirmed that the mask pack gradually became opaque from the end after 100 minutes or more. On the other hand, it was confirmed that there was no change in Comparative Examples 1 to 3.

[0089] From the above results, it was confirmed that the hydrogel mask pack can have variable opacity depending on skin temperature and time by including a certain amount of silica, and that the time taken to become opaque is shortened as the silica content increases.

[0090] Experimental Example 2. Formulation Stability Evaluation

[0091] In this experimental example, we sought to develop a formulation that would shorten the time it took for a mask pack to become opaque while maintaining a stable consistency. To this end, we prepared Examples 3 and 4, which contained a reduced amount of moisturizer to facilitate moisture evaporation from the silica aqueous solution. Similarly, the time from transparency to opacity was measured. The results are shown in Table 3 below.

[0092] Example 2 Example 3 Example 4 Variable opacity ○○○ Time from transparent to opaque (unit: minutes) 1006020

[0093] Figure 2 is a formulation photograph showing the color change over time of a hydrogel mask pack manufactured using the hydrogel mask pack composition of Example 4.

[0094] As a result, as the content of the moisturizer was reduced, the time to reach opacity was shortened, and finally, in the case of Example 4, it was confirmed that the mask pack gradually became opaque from the end after 20 minutes or more.

[0095] From the above results, it was found that the hydrogel mask pack containing silica had an increased formulation stability of the composition while the time required for the mask pack to become opaque was shortened as the content of polyol, a moisturizing agent, was reduced.
