Abstract
Description
Roll map creation system
[0001] The present invention relates to a roll map creation system, and more particularly, to a roll map creation system that secures traceability of data related to electrodes and enables accurate analysis and reduction of work time.
[0002] This application claims the benefit of priority to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2023-0103705, filed August 8, 2023, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference.
[0003] With technological advancements and growing demand for mobile devices, demand for secondary batteries is also rapidly increasing. Among these, lithium secondary batteries are widely used as a power source for various mobile devices and other electronic products due to their high energy density, high operating voltage, and excellent storage and lifespan characteristics.
[0004] The electrode manufacturing process for manufacturing the electrode of a lithium secondary battery includes a coating process for forming a positive electrode and a negative electrode by applying an active material and a predetermined insulating material to the surface of a metal electrode plate, which is a current collector, a roll press process for rolling the coated electrode, a slitting process for cutting the rolled electrode according to size, and a notching process for forming a tab on the electrode.
[0005] Once tabs are formed during the notching process, a separator is interposed between the positive and negative electrodes to form an electrode assembly. This assembly is then stacked or folded, packaged into pouches or cans, and filled with electrolyte, creating the form of a secondary battery. The assembled secondary battery then undergoes an activation process that charges and discharges the battery, imparting its specific properties. This process transforms it into a finished product.
[0006] This process can be performed through a series of roll-to-roll processes. However, since the electrodes' starting and / or ending surfaces are inverted and their lengths change, the coordinates of the roll maps created for each process may not match. Therefore, even if roll maps are created for each unit process, it can be difficult to trace the cause of the problem by comparing them to the roll map of the final surviving electrode.
[0007] The technical problem to be achieved by the present invention is to provide a roll map creation system that secures traceability of electrode-related data and enables accurate analysis and reduction of work time.
[0008] The present invention, in order to achieve the above technical task, is a roll map creation system in a series of roll-to-roll processes in which processes in which an electrode unwound from an unwinder moves and is wound on a rewinder are sequentially and repeatedly performed, the system including a roll map creation device that creates a roll map for each process, the roll map being defined as a coordinate plane having two coordinate axes of a length direction axis and a width direction axis of the electrode and capable of indicating the position of the electrode in each process as a coordinate value of the coordinate plane, the roll map creation device including a roll map matching unit that matches the coordinate values of the roll map of each process with the coordinate values of the roll map of the final process so that the actual electrode represented by the roll map of the final process among the series of roll-to-roll processes and the actual electrode represented by the roll map of each process prior to the final process are matched, the electrode including two or more lanes arranged in the width direction axis, and the roll map matching unit is configured to create a roll map in a vertical direction in which a rewinder of a first roll-to-roll process preceding the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode and a roll map matching unit that creates a roll map in a vertical direction in which a rewinder of a second roll-to-roll process following the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode. A roll map creation system is provided that is configured to match the upper surface of the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process and the lower surface of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process when the up-and-down directions in which the unwinder of the process unwinds the electrodes are opposite to each other.
[0009] In some embodiments, the roll map creation system may further include a storage device capable of storing lot information including a winding direction of the electrode.
[0010] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to match the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process with the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process after reversing the order of the lanes of the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process in the width direction when the vertical direction in which the rewinder of the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode and the vertical direction in which the unwinder of the second roll-to-roll process unwinds the electrode are the same.
[0011] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to match the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process with the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process while maintaining the order of the lanes of the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process in the width direction when the vertical direction in which the rewinder of the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode and the vertical direction in which the unwinder of the second roll-to-roll process unwinds the electrode are opposite to each other.
[0012] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to match the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process with the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process by reversing the arrangement order of the lanes of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process when the rewinder of the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode upward and the unwinder of the second roll-to-roll process unwinds the electrode upward.
[0013] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to match the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process with the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process by maintaining the arrangement order of the lanes of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process and reversing the upper and lower surfaces of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process when the rewinder of the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode upward and the unwinder of the second roll-to-roll process unwinds the electrode downward.
[0014] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to match the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process with the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process by maintaining the arrangement order of the lanes of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process and reversing the upper and lower surfaces of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process when the rewinder of the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode downward and the unwinder of the second roll-to-roll process winds the electrode upward.
[0015] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to match the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process with the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process by reversing the arrangement order of the lanes of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process when the rewinder of the first roll-to-roll process winds the electrode downward and the unwinder of the second roll-to-roll process unwinds the electrode downward.
[0016] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to correspond the starting point of the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process to the ending point of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process.
[0017] In some embodiments, the roll map matching unit may be configured to correspond the end point of the roll map of the first roll-to-roll process to the start point of the roll map of the second roll-to-roll process.
[0018] Another aspect of the present invention provides a roll map creation system in a series of roll-to-roll processes in which an electrode unwound from an unwinder is processed and then wound from a rewinder is sequentially and repeatedly performed, the system including a roll map creation device that creates a roll map for each process, the roll map being defined by a coordinate plane having two coordinate axes of a longitudinal axis and a width direction axis of the electrode and capable of indicating the position of the electrode in each process as a coordinate value of the coordinate plane, wherein the roll map creation device is configured to create a first roll map for a relatively preceding first roll-to-roll process and a second roll map for a relatively succeeding second roll-to-roll process, and wherein the roll map creation device includes information on a winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process and an unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process.
[0019] In some embodiments, the second roll-to-roll process may be performed immediately after the first roll-to-roll process.
[0020] In some embodiments, the roll map creation device is configured to read the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process, and the roll map creation device may be configured to match the upper surface of the first roll map with the upper surface of the second roll map when the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process are the same, and to reverse the widthwise arrangement order of the lanes of the second roll map based on the direction of travel of the electrode to match the lanes of the first roll map.
[0021] In some embodiments, the roll map creation device is configured to read the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process, and the roll map creation device can be configured to match the upper surface of the first roll map with the lower surface of the second roll map when the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process are different from each other, and to match the lanes of the first roll map without changing the widthwise arrangement order of the lanes of the second roll map based on the direction of travel of the electrode.
[0022] In some embodiments, the roll map creation device may be configured to additionally create a roll map that integrates the first roll map and the second roll map.
[0023] The roll map creation system of the present invention has the effect of ensuring traceability of data related to electrodes by accurately matching roll maps created in a series of roll-to-roll processes, enabling accurate analysis and shortening of work time.

[0039]
[0040] (Example 1)
[0041] Figure 1 is a conceptual perspective drawing schematically showing the state of an electrode undergoing an electrode manufacturing process.
[0042] Referring to Fig. 1, a coated electrode (1) is manufactured by coating an active material on a current collector in a coater (C) to form a coated portion (1a). A reference point may be marked on an uncoated portion (1b) on which the active material is not coated. In some embodiments, the active material may be coated on both the upper and lower surfaces of the electrode (1). The coated electrode (1) may be pressed by a press roll in a roll press process and cut along the length direction of the electrode (1) by a slitter in a slitting process.
[0043] Afterwards, in the notching process, electrode tabs (2) can be formed by punching with a press or the like. In the notching process, the electrode tabs (2) are formed for each unit electrode so that they can be cut for each unit electrode to be manufactured into a battery cell or cut in a subsequent process. The width of the unit electrode corresponds to the pitch (P) processed by the press.
[0044] This electrode manufacturing process is performed through a series of roll-to-roll processes in which the electrode unwound from the unwinder is moved and wound on the rewinder in a sequential and repeated manner. That is, the electrode is coated as it moves from the unwinder of the coating process to the rewinder, and the electrode is wound on the rewinder, thereby completing the electrode roll of the coating process. Next, the electrode roll is placed on the unwinder of the roll press process and moved to the rewinder of the roll press process. The electrode roll is wound on the rewinder of the roll press process, thereby completing the electrode roll of the roll press process. Thereafter, the electrode roll is unwound from the unwinder of a subsequent process (e.g., a second roll press process, a slitting process, a notching process, etc.), and after going through a predetermined process, is wound on the rewinder of the subsequent process again, thereby completing the electrode roll of the subsequent process. In this way, the electrode manufacturing process may include a series of roll-to-roll processes in which the electrode released from the unwinder is moved and wound in the rewinder (so-called roll-to-roll process) is sequentially repeated.
[0045] Figure 2 conceptually illustrates a roll map created in an electrode manufacturing process according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0046] As described above, electrodes are processed in a roll-to-roll manner in coating processes, roll press processes, slitting processes, etc. The roll map is a bar-shaped representation of the progress of the electrode, and the longitudinal and transverse positions of the electrode are plotted as coordinates on the roll map. That is, the roll map is defined on a coordinate plane having two coordinate axes, the longitudinal axis and the transverse axis of the electrode, and each position of the electrode on the coordinate plane can be represented by a coordinate value on the coordinate plane. This roll map plots information on defects, quality, electrode breakage, etc. occurring in the electrode manufacturing process along with the coordinates, so that data related to quality or defects in the electrode manufacturing process can be easily and visually grasped at a glance.
[0047] Referring to Figure 2, external defect information, such as pinhole defects (f1) and line defects (f2), are visualized and displayed at the coordinates where the defects occurred. Furthermore, mismatches between the coated and uncoated portions (f3) are also displayed. Other loading defects are also displayed, as well as areas where electrodes are discarded at the outermost edge.
[0048] In addition, reference points (K1, K2, K3) can be marked and displayed at predetermined intervals on the electrode (1). When a fracture occurs in the electrode (1) and it is connected with a joint connecting member, the length of the electrode is reduced by the fractured length. As described above, the points where appearance defects occur can also be removed and connected by the worker. The roll map can also simulate such a situation and modify the coordinates on the roll map. Referring to Fig. 2, the coordinates that do not reflect the above-described electrode removal portion and the coordinates that reflect it are shown together on one roll map. The former is called the absolute coordinate (x), and the latter is called the relative coordinate (y). As shown in Fig. 2, the relative coordinate (y) and the absolute coordinate (x) can be displayed together on one roll map, but can also be displayed separately. The roll map indicated by the relative coordinate (y) shows the state of the actual electrode.
[0049] Such roll maps can be created for each of the individual processes described above. However, since the roll-to-roll process unwinds the electrode wound in the preceding process in the subsequent process, the end of the roll map representing the electrode roll of the preceding process becomes the beginning of the roll map representing the electrode roll of the subsequent process, and so on, and the start and end of the electrode are reversed during the roll-to-roll process. In addition, in the case of a double-sided electrode in which the electrode active material is coated on both sides of the electrode, the electrode surface may be reversed, such as the top electrode in the preceding process becoming the back electrode in the subsequent process. In other words, depending on the winding direction of the electrode in the preceding process and the unwinding direction of the electrode in the subsequent process, the start and end of the electrode may be reversed. Since the roll maps of each process are created based on these reversed electrodes, the coordinates of the roll maps of each process are also reversed. Furthermore, as the electrode is cut and connected multiple times in the longitudinal direction to remove defective or broken sections, and so on, during a series of roll-to-roll processes, the length of the electrode changes. Since the roll map of each process reflects these inversions and length changes, the coordinate values may be different for each.
[0050] In the final stage of the electrode manufacturing process, only the remaining electrodes (survival electrodes) remain, excluding the electrode parts removed in the previous stages. Since batteries are manufactured using these survival electrodes, if a problem occurs in a finished or semi-finished battery, the cause of the problem can be traced by referring to the roll map of the final electrode. Furthermore, the roll maps for each process described above can be used to trace the electrode part that caused the problem. Thus, the roll map is a useful tool for quality monitoring, as well as for assessing quality and defects.
[0051] FIG. 3 is a conceptual diagram showing the relationship between two consecutive roll-to-roll processes (P1, P2) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0052] Referring to Fig. 3, the second roll-to-roll process (P2), which is a subsequent process, is performed following the first roll-to-roll process (P1), which is a preceding process.
[0053] In the first roll-to-roll process (P1), the electrode unwound from the first unwinder (UW1) undergoes a predetermined process and is then re-wound in the first rewinder (RW1). The electrode wound in the first rewinder (RW1) is provided to the second rewinder (RW2) for the second roll-to-roll process (P2). Thereafter, in the second roll-to-roll process (P2), the electrode unwound from the second unwinder (UW2) undergoes a predetermined process and is then re-wound in the second rewinder (RW2).
[0054] However, in Fig. 3, the direction in which the electrode is wound in the first rewinder (RW1) is depicted as being upwardly wound, but in a specific process, it may be downwardly wound. Furthermore, in Fig. 3, the direction in which the electrode is unwound in the second unwinder (UW2) is depicted as being upwardly wound, but in a specific process, it may be downwardly wound.
[0055] In a specific process like this, the winding direction and the unwinding direction may not be consistent depending on the needs of the preceding and succeeding processes.
[0056] Figure 4 is a schematic conceptual diagram illustrating a specific roll-to-roll process according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0057] Referring to FIG. 4, the electrode (E) may have two or more lanes. Although the electrode (E) is illustrated here as including four lanes (L1, L2, L3, L4), a person skilled in the art will understand that the electrode (E) may include two, three, five or more lanes.
[0058] The electrode (E) may include a layer of an active material on one or both of a top side and a back side. The electrode (E) includes a start point (S), which is a point where processing for the roll-to-roll process begins, and an end point (T), which is a point where processing for the roll-to-roll process is completed. After the electrode (E) is processed in the roll-to-roll process, it is wound into a roll shape. In some embodiments, the electrode (E) to be processed may be wound in an upper winding manner in which the electrode (E) is wound above the central axis of the first rewinder (1113). The roll wound in the upper winding manner is hereinafter referred to as a first electrode roll (R1).
[0059] In other embodiments, the electrode (E) to be processed may be wound in a lower winding manner in which the electrode (E) is wound lower than the central axis of the first rewinder (1113). A roll wound in the lower winding manner is hereinafter referred to as a second electrode roll (R2).
[0060] In the case of the first electrode roll (R1), the upper surface of the electrode (E) forms the outer surface of the first electrode roll (R1), and in the case of the second electrode roll (R2), the back surface of the electrode (E) forms the outer surface of the second electrode roll (R2).
[0061] Figure 5 is a conceptual diagram showing an aspect in which the first electrode roll (R1) of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) is mounted on the second unwinder (2111) in the second roll-to-roll process (P2).
[0062] Referring to Fig. 5, the first electrode roll (R1) is wound upward in the first rewinder (1113) and then provided to the second unwinder (2111) of the second roll-to-roll process (P2), which is a subsequent process. When the first electrode roll (R1) is mounted on the second unwinder (2111), the electrode (E) to be processed can be wound upwardly in a manner of winding the electrode (E) so that the electrode (E) is positioned upward relative to the central axis of the second unwinder (2111) (T11).
[0063] In this case, the upper surface of the first electrode roll (R1) in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) can be maintained in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). However, the lane order in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) of the first electrode roll (R1) is opposite to that in the first roll-to-roll process (P1). That is, in the first roll-to-roll process (P1), the lanes are arranged from the left as L1, L2, L3, L4 based on the direction of movement of the electrode (E). On the other hand, in the second roll-to-roll process (P2), the lanes are arranged from the right as L1, L2, L3, L4 based on the direction of movement of the electrode (E).
[0064] When the first electrode roll (R1) is mounted on the second unwinder (2111), the electrode (E) to be processed can be unwound in a lower unwinding manner in which the electrode (E) is unwound by being positioned lower than the central axis of the second unwinder (2111) (T12).
[0065] In this case, the upper surface of the first electrode roll (R1) in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) becomes the back surface in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). However, the lane order in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) of the first electrode roll (R1) becomes the same as that in the first roll-to-roll process (P1). That is, in both the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the second roll-to-roll process (P2), the lanes are arranged from the left as L1, L2, L3, and L4 based on the direction of travel of the electrode (E).
[0066] Figure 6 is a conceptual diagram showing how the second electrode roll (R2) of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) is mounted on the second unwinder (2111) in the second roll-to-roll process (P2).
[0067] Referring to Fig. 6, the second electrode roll (R2) is wound downward in the first rewinder (1113) and then provided to the second unwinder (2111) of the second roll-to-roll process (P2), which is a subsequent process. When the second electrode roll (R2) is mounted on the second unwinder (2111), the electrode (E) to be processed can be wound upwardly in a manner that the electrode (E) is wound upwardly relative to the central axis of the second unwinder (2111) (T21).
[0068] In this case, the upper surface of the second electrode roll (R2) in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) becomes the back surface in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). However, the lane order in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) of the second electrode roll (R2) becomes the same as that in the first roll-to-roll process (P1). That is, in both the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the second roll-to-roll process (P2), the lanes are arranged from the left as L1, L2, L3, and L4 based on the direction of travel of the electrode (E).
[0069] When the second electrode roll (R2) is mounted on the second unwinder (2111), the electrode (E) to be processed can be unwound in a lower unwinding manner in which the electrode (E) is unwound by being positioned lower than the central axis of the second unwinder (2111) (T22).
[0070] In this case, the upper surface of the second electrode roll (R2) in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) can be maintained in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). However, the lane order in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) of the second electrode roll (R2) is opposite to that in the first roll-to-roll process (P1).
[0071] As discussed above, depending on the direction in which the electrode roll is wound in the preceding roll-to-roll process and the direction in which the electrode roll is unwound in the subsequent roll-to-roll process, the top and bottom surfaces of the electrode may be switched, and furthermore, the order in which the lanes of the electrode are arranged in the width direction may change. Therefore, the roll map created in the preceding roll-to-roll process and the roll map created in the subsequent roll-to-roll process must be mutually matched to take these changes into account.
[0072]
[0073] Fig. 7 is a block diagram showing a roll map creation system (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0074] Referring to Fig. 7, the roll map creation system (1) includes a first roll-to-roll device (110) and a second roll-to-roll device (210). The first roll-to-roll process (P1) (see Fig. 3) performed in the first roll-to-roll device (110) can be performed continuously with the second roll-to-roll process (P2) (see Fig. 3) performed in the second roll-to-roll device (210). In particular, the first roll-to-roll process (P1) can be performed prior to the second roll-to-roll process (P2).
[0075] The first roll-to-roll device (110) may include a first unwinder (1111), a first rewinder (1113), a first rotary encoder (1121), a second rotary encoder (1125), a first measuring instrument (1130), and a first process programmable logic controller (PLC) (1143).
[0076] An electrode roll to be processed in a first roll-to-roll process (P1) is provided to a first unwinder (1111), and the first unwinder (1111) may be configured to unwind the electrode roll. The first rewinder (1113) may be configured to wind the processed electrode (E1) unwound from the first unwinder (1111). As described above, the electrode roll wound in the first rewinder (1113) may be wound in an upper winding manner or a lower winding manner.
[0077] The first rotary encoder (1121) may be configured to detect the extent to which the electrode (E1) is unwound by the first unwinder (1111). The first rotary encoder (1121) may be configured as a contact or non-contact type. In some embodiments, the first rotary encoder (1121) may be configured to sense the length of the electrode (E1) unwound by the first unwinder (1111). Accordingly, the first rotary encoder (1121) may be configured to generate an unwound amount signal (UWAS) representing the length of the electrode (E1) unwound, and transmit the same to the first roll map PLC (1171), which will be described in detail later. The first roll map PLC (1171) may be configured to collect unwound amount data based on the received unwound amount signal (UWAS).
[0078] The second rotary encoder (1125) may be configured to detect the degree to which the electrode (E1) is wound by the first rewinder (1113). The second rotary encoder (1125) may be configured as a contact or non-contact type. In some embodiments, the second rotary encoder (1125) may be configured to sense the length by which the electrode (E1) is wound by the first rewinder (1113). Accordingly, the second rotary encoder (1125) may be configured to generate a winding amount signal (WAS) representing the length by which the electrode (E1) is wound, and transmit the same to the first roll map PLC (1171), which will be described in detail later. The first roll map PLC (1171) may be configured to collect winding amount data based on the received winding amount signal (WAS).
[0079] The first measuring device (1130) can be configured to measure the electrode (E1) to collect measurement data (MD) of the electrode (E1) being transferred from the first unwinder (1111) to the first rewinder (1113). The first measuring device (1130) can measure the electrode (E1) in a scanning manner. In some embodiments, the first measuring device (1130) can move along the width direction of the electrode (E1). In some embodiments, during one scan of the first measuring device (1130), the first measuring device (1130) can move from one end of the electrode (E1) in the width direction to the other end of the electrode (E1) in the width direction. While the first measuring instrument (1130) performs the widthwise scanning, the electrode (E1) can be moved in the lengthwise direction of the electrode by the first unwinder (1111) and the first rewinder (1113).
[0080] The above measurement data (MD) may include inspection results expressed in numbers. In some embodiments, the measurement data (MD) may further include data on the loading amount of the coating material on the electrode, dimensional data such as the width of the insulating material provided on the coating material and the overlapping width between the coating material and the insulating material, mismatch data between the maintenance lanes on the upper surface of the electrode and the maintenance lanes on the back surface of the electrode, etc. Here, the loading amount represents the amount of the coating material loaded per unit area of the electrode (E1) and may be the areal density of the coating material. The measurement data (MD) may be processed in a set manner to determine the quality of the measured portion of the electrode.
[0081] The first measuring device (1130) may include a first sensing unit (1131) and a first processing unit (1133). The first sensing unit (1131) may be configured to sense a physical quantity of an electrode (E1) to generate a measurement signal (MS). For example, the first sensing unit (1131) may include a Time Delay and Integration (TDI) camera, a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor, and a Time of Flight (TOF) sensor. The first sensing unit (1131) may also include an emitter and a receiver configured to perform measurement using non-destructive signals such as ultrasound, microwaves, terahertz waves, and infrared waves. In some embodiments, the first sensing unit (1131) may include analog and / or digital sensors, such as a biosensor, a chemical sensor, a composition sensor, a current and / or power meter, an air quality sensor, a gas sensor, a Hall effect sensor, a brightness level sensor, and a light sensor. In some embodiments, the first measuring device (1130) may include a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, an ultrasonic sensor, a proximity sensor, a door status sensor, a motion tracking sensor, a humidity sensor, a visible light and infrared sensor, and a camera.
[0082] The first roll-to-roll device (110) may further include an inspector configured to inspect the electrode (E1) to collect inspection data. The inspection data may include judgments on the quality of portions of the electrode (E1) and process events. For example, the inspection data may include data on the appearance of the electrode collected by an image-based inspection device such as a vision machine, data on open circuits and joints of the electrode, data on portions of the electrode on which sampling inspection has been performed, data on portions of the electrode scheduled for scrapping, data on scrapped portions of the electrode, data on the quality of coating materials and insulating materials on the electrode, data on reference points indicating the position of the electrode, and defect data such as pinhole defects, crater defects, line defects, crack defects, side ring defects, island defects, fold defects, wrinkle defects, dent defects, and imprint defects. The reference points may be formed at predetermined intervals on the electrode, and the positions of other elements on the electrode may be located based on the reference points. The inspector may be any one of a color sensor, a joint sensor, a reference point sensor, and a vision machine.
[0083] The measurement data (MD) and inspection data described above may be time-series data. The measurement data (MD) and inspection data may be temporally ordered. Temporal ordering is a key characteristic of time-series data, which organizes events in the order in which they occur and arrive for processing. That is, the measurement data (MD) and inspection data may be stored based on the time at which the measurement and inspection were performed, and the measurement data (MD) and inspection data may be temporally associated. Furthermore, the measurement data (MD) and inspection data may be associated with a location on the electrode identified based on the reference point.
[0084] The first processing unit (1133) may be configured to collect a measurement signal (MS) sensed by the first sensing unit (1131) to generate measurement data (MD). The first processing unit (1133) may be connected to the first sensing unit (1131) by wire or wirelessly.
[0085] The first rollmap PLC (1171) may be in operative communication with the first and second rotary encoders (1121, 1125), the first measuring device (1130), and additional measuring devices and inspectors via a wired or wireless data network. The data network may be unidirectional or bidirectional. The data network may be implemented by a public network and / or a specialized network using a physical channel, WiFi, Bluetooth, and / or other frequency bands. The first and second rotary encoders (1121, 1125), the first measuring device (1130), and additional measuring devices and inspectors may be configured to collect data from equipment, workpieces, semi-finished products, and finished products within the first roll-to-roll device (110), or to generate signals for collecting data.
[0086] The first roll map PLC (1171) may be configured to transmit coordinate data (CD) to the first processing unit (1133). The first processing unit (1133) may be configured to associate measurement data (MD) with the coordinate data (CD) to generate coordinate-related measurement data (CMD). Typically, the measurement data (MD) may be processed based on a trigger point. Examples of processing of the measurement data (MD) may include storing the measurement data (MD), manipulating the measurement data (MD) (e.g., generating coordinate-related measurement data (CMD)), and transmitting the measurement data (MD).
[0087] As a non-limiting example, the trigger point for processing measurement data (MD) may be the completion of a scan. For example, the first sensing unit (1131) may scan the electrode (E1) in the width direction of the electrode, and for each scan, measurement data (MD) may be stored, processed, modulated, and transmitted. In another example, the trigger point may be the completion of multiple scans or the completion of a portion of a scan.
[0088] The first processing unit (1133) may be configured to transmit coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) to the first roll map PLC (1171). The first roll map PLC (1171) may be configured to transmit coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) to the first process PLC (1143).
[0089] The coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) transmitted to the first process PLC (1143) can be transmitted to the first server (150) via the first process PLC (1143) and the first equipment interface (EIF) (145). The first process PLC (1143) and the first EIF (145) can relay the communication of data including the measurement data (CMD) between the first server (150) and the first roll map PLC (1171). However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the first roll map PLC (1171) can also be configured to directly transmit the coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) to the first server (150).
[0090] The first process PLC (1143) may be configured to control the operation of the first unwinder (1111) and the first rewinder (1113). The first process PLC (1143) may be configured to generate signals for operation and stop of the first unwinder (1111) and the first rewinder (1113).
[0091] In some embodiments, each of the first roll map PLC (1171) and the first process PLC (1143) may be part of a single PLC, the first PLC (1140).
[0092] In order to control the first roll-to-roll process, a communication line may be installed between the first process PLC (1143) and the first server (150) via the first EIF (145) and connecting the first process PLC (1143) and the first server (150). Accordingly, data transmission through the first process PLC (1143) can reduce resources required for installation of the communication line and improve efficiency in data processing and management compared to the case where the first and second rotary encoders (1121, 1125) and the first measuring instrument (1130) directly transmit the unwinding amount signal (UWAS), the winding amount signal (WAS) and the measurement signal (MS) to the first server (150) and the case where the first roll map PLC (1171) directly transmits the measurement data (CMD) to the first server (150).
[0093] The first EIF (145) may be a device for communication between the first process PLC (1143) of the manufacturing facility and the first server (150), which is an upper server.
[0094] In some embodiments, the first server (150) may include a first roll map creation unit configured to create a first roll map. The first roll map may be a simulation of process data of the electrode (E1) on a plane that simulates the electrode (E1) moving between the first unwinder (1111) and the first rewinder (1113). In this case, the first server (150) may function as a roll map creation device.
[0095] In some embodiments, the first roll map PLC (1171) may include a first roll map creation unit configured to create the first roll map. In this case, the first roll map PLC (1171) may function as a roll map creation device. Hereinafter, a case in which the first server (150) creates the first roll map will be described. However, the first roll map PLC (1171) may also be configured to create the first roll map in a manner identical, equivalent, or similar to the configuration associated with creating the first roll map by the first server (150).
[0096] The first roll map may be generated in units of lots formed by winding and cutting the electrode (E1). The first roll map may include data on specifications of the lot. The specifications of the lot may include, for example, a lot number, the length of the wound electrode, the winding direction of the electrode roll, the unwinding direction of the electrode roll, the width of the electrode, and the materials and compositions used in processing the electrode.

The first server (150) can transmit the visualization command (VC) to a display device (160), and the display device (160) can visualize the first roll map and display the visualized first roll map.
[0099] In some embodiments, the first processing unit (1133) may be configured to transmit coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) and / or coordinate data (CD) to the second server (180). According to exemplary embodiments, the coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) and coordinate data (CD) may be transmitted to the second server (180) via the first eIoT (170). The first eIoT (170) may be a device for communication between the first processing unit (1133) and the second server (180).
[0100] In some embodiments, the second server (180) may be configured to store and process electrode measurement data (MD). The second server (180) may continuously monitor the processing of the electrode based on the measurement data (MD), thereby managing the quality of the electrode processing. In exemplary embodiments, the second server (180) may be a statistical process controller (SPC). By collecting and analyzing manufacturing data in near real-time, the second server (180) may promptly identify problem conditions and provide alerts to operators before potential problems occur.
[0101] The third server (190) may be configured to store coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) transmitted from the first server (150). The third server (190) may be configured to store measurement data (MD) transmitted from the second server (180). If the first server (150) is an MES and the second server (180) is an SPC, they may not be suitable for long-term storage of the associated measurement data (CMD), evaluation data (ED), and measurement data (MD). The third server (190) may be, for example, a data warehouse, and may store coordinate-related measurement data (CMD), evaluation data (ED), and measurement data (MD) for a long period of time based on the quality assurance period of the product, etc.

[0103] The first server (150) and the second server (180) can generate a first roll map and an intermediate roll map. Since the first server (150) stores and processes a lot of data for general manufacturing management other than the first roll map, the first roll map stored in the first server (150) can include processed and simplified coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) instead of the original measurement data (MD). The second server (180) can store the original measurement data (MD) to operate as an SPC. That is, in addition to the first roll map, the intermediate roll map may further include measurement data (MD), which is original data. The measurement data (MD) may be associated with the first roll map based on a time value. Accordingly, the intermediate roll map may provide additional insight into workpiece quality, process performance, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) drill-down, anomaly detection, traceability, preventative maintenance, and predictive alerting.
[0105] The first server (150), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may include physical servers or cloud servers. [0134] As a non-limiting example, the trigger point for processing measurement data (MD) may be the completion of a scan. For example, the second sensing unit (2131) may scan the electrode (E2) in the width direction of the electrode, and for each scan, measurement data (MD) may be stored, processed, modulated, and transmitted. In another example, the trigger point may be the completion of multiple scans or the completion of a portion of a scan.
[0135] The second processing unit (2133) may be configured to transmit coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) to the second roll map PLC (2171). The second roll map PLC (2171) may be configured to transmit coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) to the second process PLC (2143).
[0136] The coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) transmitted to the second process PLC (2143) can be transmitted to the first server (150) via the second process PLC (2143) and the second equipment interface (EIF) (245). The second process PLC (2143) and the second EIF (245) can relay the communication of data including the measurement data (CMD) between the first server (150) and the second roll map PLC (2171). However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the second roll map PLC (2171) can also be configured to directly transmit the coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) to the first server (150).
[0137] The second process PLC (2143) may be configured to control the operation of the second unwinder (2111) and the second rewinder (2113). The second process PLC (2143) may be configured to generate signals for operation and stop of the second unwinder (2111) and the second rewinder (2113).
[0138] In some embodiments, each of the second roll map PLC (2171) and the second process PLC (2143) may be part of a second PLC (2140), which is one PLC.
[0139] In order to control the second roll-to-roll process, a communication line may be installed between the second process PLC (2143) and the first server (150) via the second EIF (245) and connecting the second process PLC (2143) and the first server (150). Accordingly, data transmission through the second process PLC (2143) can reduce resources required for installation of the communication line and can improve data processing and management efficiency compared to the case where the third and fourth rotary encoders (2121, 2125) and the second measuring instrument (2130) directly transmit the unwinding amount signal (UWAS), the winding amount signal (WAS), and the measurement signal (MS) to the first server (150) and the case where the second roll map PLC (2171) directly transmits the measurement data (CMD) to the first server (150).
[0140] The second EIF (245) may be a device for communication between the second process PLC (1143) of the manufacturing facility and the first server (150), which is an upper server.
[0141] In some embodiments, the first server (150) may include a second roll map creation unit configured to create a second roll map. The second roll map may be a simulation of process data of the electrode (E2) on a plane that simulates the electrode (E2) moving between the second unwinder (2111) and the second rewinder (2113). In this case, the first server (150) may function as a roll map creation device.
[0142] In some embodiments, the second roll map PLC (2171) may include a second roll map creation unit configured to create the second roll map. In this case, the second roll map PLC (2171) may function as a roll map creation device. Hereinafter, a case in which the first server (150) creates the second roll map will be described. However, the second roll map PLC (2171) may also be configured to create the second roll map in a manner identical, equivalent, or similar to the configuration associated with creating the second roll map by the first server (150).
[0143] The second roll map may be generated in units of lots formed by winding and cutting the electrode (E2). The second roll map may include data on specifications of the lot. The specifications of the lot may include, for example, a lot number, the length of the wound electrode, the winding direction of the electrode roll, the unwinding direction of the electrode roll, the width of the electrode, and the materials and compositions used in processing the electrode.
[0144] The first server (150) may be, for example, an MES, and may be configured to input, process, output, and communicate data required for the second roll-to-roll process.
[0145] The first server (150) can generate a visualization command (VC) for visualizing the second roll map. The first server (150) can transmit the visualization command (VC) to a display device (160), and the display device (160) can visualize the second roll map and display the visualized second roll map.
[0146] In some embodiments, the second processing unit (2133) may be configured to transmit coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) and / or coordinate data (CD) to the second server (180). According to exemplary embodiments, the coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) and coordinate data (CD) may be transmitted to the second server (180) via the second eIoT (270). The second eIoT (270) may be a device for communication between the second processing unit (2133) and the second server (180).
[0147] In some embodiments, the second server (180) may be configured to store and process electrode measurement data (MD). The second server (180) may continuously monitor the processing of the electrode based on the measurement data (MD), thereby managing the quality of the electrode processing. In exemplary embodiments, the second server (180) may be an SPC. By collecting and analyzing manufacturing data in near real-time, the second server (180) may promptly identify problem conditions and provide alerts to operators before potential problems occur.
[0148] The second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may be implemented using hardware, firmware, software, and combinations thereof. For example, the second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may include computing devices such as workstation computers, desktop computers, laptop computers, and tablet computers. The second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may include any one of a simple controller, a microprocessor, a CPU, a complex processor such as a GPU, a processor configured by software, dedicated hardware, and firmware. The second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may be implemented by, for example, a general-purpose computer or application-specific hardware such as a DSP (Digital Signal Processor), an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), and an ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit).
[0149] The first server (150) and the second server (180) can generate the second roll map and the intermediate roll map. Since the first server (150) stores and processes a lot of data for general manufacturing management other than the second roll map, the second roll map stored in the first server (150) can include processed and simplified coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) instead of the original measurement data (MD). The second server (180) can store the original measurement data (MD) to operate as an SPC. The second server (180) can transmit the measurement data (MD) corresponding to a selected portion of the second roll map in response to a command from the first server (150).
[0150] The intermediate roll map may further include measurement data (MD) associated with the second roll map. That is, in addition to the second roll map, the intermediate roll map may further include measurement data (MD), which is original data. The measurement data (MD) may be associated with the second roll map based on a time value. Accordingly, the intermediate roll map may provide additional insight into workpiece quality, process performance, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) drill-down, anomaly detection, traceability, preventative maintenance, and predictive alerting.
[0151] The second roll-to-roll device (210) may implement a plug-in architecture with an API for data acquisition to provide plug-and-play connectivity for the second measuring instrument (2130) and additional measuring instruments and inspectors. This allows for the easy transfer of resources from a specific process step and site to other processes and sites, or the easy introduction of new resources to each process step and site.
[0152] The data network between the elements of the second roll-to-roll device (210) may include various types of communication channels, including unidirectional, bidirectional wired, and wireless communications. For example, the data network may include an industrial protocol network such as OPC, Modbus, ProfiNet, etc. The communication channel may be a dedicated conduit communication such as Universal Serial Bus (USB), IEEE 802 (Ethernet), IEEE 1394 (FireWire), or other high-speed data communication standards.
[0153] In some embodiments, the second roll-to-roll device (210) may further include a manual input system that allows an operator to input manufacturing data. The second roll-to-roll device (210) may allow for operator data entry using an input tool and computer-based input of manufacturing data, such as scraping an Excel file.
[0154] According to some embodiments, the operations of the second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may be implemented as instructions stored on a machine-readable medium that can be read and executed by one or more processors. Here, the machine-readable medium may include any mechanism for storing and / or transmitting information in a form readable by a machine (e.g., a computing device). For example, the machine-readable medium may include a Read Only Memory (ROM), a Random Access Memory (RAM), a magnetic disk storage medium, an optical storage medium, a flash memory, an electrical, optical, acoustical, or other form of radio signal (e.g., a carrier wave, an infrared signal, a digital signal, etc.), and any other signal.
[0155] The second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may be configured with firmware, software, routines, and commands for performing the operations described above, or any processes described below. For example, the second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) may be instantiated in memory.
[0156] The second processing unit (2133) may be implemented by software configured to, for example, receive coordinate data (CD), generate coordinate-related measurement data (CMD), and transmit the measurement data (MD), coordinate data (CD), and coordinate-related measurement data (CMD).
[0157] The second roll map PLC (2171) may be implemented by software configured to, for example, collect coordinate data (CD), receive coordinate-related measurement data (CMD), and transmit the coordinate data (CD) and coordinate-related measurement data (CMD).
[0158] The second process PLC (2143) can be implemented by software configured to generate control signals for controlling the second unwinder (2111) and the second rewinder (2113) based on the product ID and the product recipe, receive coordinate data (CD) and coordinate-related measurement data (CMD), and transmit the coordinate data (CD) and coordinate-related measurement data (CMD).
[0159] The second EIF (245) may be implemented by software for relaying the transmission of data and information between the second process PLC (2143) and the first server (150). More specifically, the second EIF (245) may be implemented by software configured to perform flow control, error control, synchronization, order control, addressing, multiplexing, routing, and format conversion of communication between the second process PLC (2143) and the first server (150).
[0160] The first server (150) may be implemented by software configured to, for example, transmit a product ID and a product recipe to a second process PLC (2143) and generate a second roll map based on coordinate-related measurement data (CMD).
[0161] The second eIoT (270) may include software configured to collect, store, process and transmit time series data such as measurement data (MD), coordinate data (CD) and / or coordinate-related measurement data (CMD).
[0162] The second server (180) may be implemented by software configured to store time series data, coordinate data (CD) and / or coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) such as measurement data (MD), monitor a process based on the time series data, coordinate data (CD) and / or coordinate-related measurement data (CMD), and transmit the time series data, coordinate data (CD) and / or coordinate-related measurement data (CMD) in response to a request from the first server (150).
[0163] The third server (190) may be implemented by software configured to receive and store coordinate-related measurement data (CMD), evaluation data (ED) and / or measurement data (MD), and to retrieve coordinate-related measurement data (CMD), evaluation data (ED) and / or measurement data (MD).
[0164] However, this is for convenience of explanation, and the operations of the second processing unit (2133), the second roll map PLC (2171), the second process PLC (2143), the second EIF (245), the first server (150), the second eIoT (270), the second server (180), and the third server (190) described above may also be caused by other devices executing computing devices, distributed computing devices, processors, firmware, software, routines, and commands.
[0165]
[0166] For one electrode roll, the first roll map created in the first roll-to-roll process and the second roll map created in the second roll-to-roll process need to match each other. In other words, the corresponding positions of the first roll map and the second roll map created for one electrode roll need to match each other so that it is possible to track how a specific position of the electrode roll changes in a continuous process.
[0167] However, as explained above, the direction in which the first roll map and the second roll map are generated differ depending on how one electrode roll is wound in the rewinder of the preceding process and how it is unwound in the unwinder of the subsequent process. Therefore, in order to find a position on the second roll map corresponding to a specific position on the first roll map, lane numbers and top / back conversion are required according to predetermined rules.
[0168] Here, the term "aspect" of winding or "aspect" of unwinding refers to whether the electrode is positioned above or below the central axis of the winding rewinder or unwinder. Specifically, if the electrode is positioned above the central axis of the winding rewinder, the winding aspect is called upper winding. If the electrode is positioned below the central axis of the winding rewinder, the winding aspect is called lower winding.
[0169] If the electrode is positioned above the central axis of the unwinder from which it is unwound, the unwinding pattern is called upper unwinding. If the electrode is positioned below the central axis of the unwinder from which it is unwound, the unwinding pattern is called lower unwinding.
[0170]
[0171] The first server (150) includes a roll map matching unit (155). The roll map matching unit (155) can match a physical electrode represented by a roll map of a final process (e.g., a second roll-to-roll process (P2)) among a series of roll-to-roll processes (e.g., a first roll-to-roll process (P1) and a second roll-to-roll process (P2) performed subsequently thereto) with each physical electrode represented by a roll map of each process (e.g., the first roll-to-roll process (P1)) prior to the final process.
[0172] That is, the roll map matching unit (155) can be configured to match the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) with each other.
[0173] Figure 8 is a schematic diagram conceptually illustrating a rule for matching the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) with each other.
[0174] Referring to FIG. 8, the relationship between the first roll map (M1) created in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the second roll map (M2) created in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) for a specific electrode roll is illustrated.
[0175] T11 represents a case where the electrode (E) is top-rolled in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and top-rolled in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). As illustrated, the upper and lower surfaces of the electrode (E) do not change in the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2), and the order of the lanes (L1, L2, L3, L4) is reversed.
[0176] T12 represents a case where the electrode (E) is rolled upward in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and rolled downward in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). As illustrated, the order of the lanes (L1, L2, L3, L4) in the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) remains unchanged, and the upper and lower surfaces of the electrode (E) are swapped.
[0177] T21 represents a case where the electrode (E) is rolled downward in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and rolled upward in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). As illustrated, the order of the lanes (L1, L2, L3, L4) in the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) remains unchanged, and the upper and lower surfaces of the electrode (E) are swapped.
[0178] T22 represents a case where the electrode (E) is wound downward in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and unwound downward in the second roll-to-roll process (P2). As illustrated, the upper and lower surfaces of the electrode (E) do not change in the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2), and the order of the lanes (L1, L2, L3, L4) is reversed.
[0179] As shown in Fig. 8, if the winding direction in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding direction in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are the same (i.e., upper winding and upper unwinding, or lower winding and lower unwinding), the upper and lower surfaces of the electrode are maintained, but the order of the lanes is reversed based on the direction of travel of the electrode (T11, T22).
[0180] In addition, if the winding direction in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding direction in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are different (i.e., upper winding and lower unwinding, or lower winding and upper unwinding), the order of the lanes is maintained based on the direction of travel of the electrode, but the upper and lower surfaces of the electrode are reversed (T12, T21).
[0181] In Fig. 8, the white surface is the surface forming the upper surface in the first roll-to-roll process, and the gray surface is the surface forming the back surface in the first roll-to-roll process.
[0182] In any case, the starting point (S1) in the first roll map (M1) corresponds to the ending point (T2) of the second roll map (M2), and the ending point (T1) in the first roll map (M1) corresponds to the starting point (S2) of the second roll map (M2). This is because the subsequent process starts from the last part of the electrode roll wound in the preceding process.
[0183]
[0184] (Example 2)
[0185] In some embodiments, the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process, which is relatively preceding, and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process, which is relatively succeeding, may be stored in any one of the first server (150), the second server (180), and the third server (190). In some embodiments, the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process may be stored in the first server (150), which is an MES. In some embodiments, the first server (150) may further include a storage device capable of storing lot information including the winding direction and the unwinding direction of the electrode roll. In some embodiments, the storage device may be provided in the roll map matching unit (155).
[0186] In some embodiments, the first server (150) may be configured to read the winding pattern of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding pattern of the second roll-to-roll process (P2) stored in the first server (150) to match the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2). After reading the winding pattern of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding pattern of the second roll-to-roll process (P2), the first server (150) may match the corresponding positions according to the rule illustrated in FIG. 8.
[0187] That is, if the winding pattern of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding pattern of the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are upper winding and upper unwinding, respectively (i.e., T11 case), the upper surfaces of the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) are matched with the upper surfaces and the back surfaces with the back surfaces, but the order of the lanes is reversed. At this time, the starting point and the ending point of the first roll map (M1) are matched with the ending point and the starting point of the second roll map (M2), respectively.
[0188] If the winding pattern of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding pattern of the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are bottom winding and bottom unwinding, respectively (i.e., T22 case), the upper surfaces of the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) are matched with the upper surfaces and the back surfaces with the back surfaces, but the order of the lanes is reversed. At this time, the starting point and the ending point of the first roll map (M1) are matched with the ending point and the starting point of the second roll map (M2), respectively.
[0189] If the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are upper winding and lower winding, respectively (i.e., T12 case), the upper surface of the first roll map (M1) matches the back surface of the second roll map (M2), and the back surface of the first roll map (M1) matches the upper surface of the second roll map (M2), but the order of the lanes is the same. At this time, the starting point and the ending point of the first roll map (M1) match the ending point and the starting point of the second roll map (M2), respectively.
[0190] If the winding aspect of the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding aspect of the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are lower winding and upper winding, respectively (i.e., case T21), the upper surface of the first roll map (M1) matches the back surface of the second roll map (M2), and the back surface of the first roll map (M1) matches the upper surface of the second roll map (M2), but the order of the lanes is the same. At this time, the starting point and the ending point of the first roll map (M1) match the ending point and the starting point of the second roll map (M2), respectively.
[0191] When the lane order is reversed in the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2), the lanes arranged from left to right based on the direction in which the electrodes advance in the first roll-to-roll process are sequentially positioned from right to left based on the direction in which the electrodes advance in the second roll-to-roll process, so that the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) can be matched.
[0192] In order to match the start and end points of the first roll map (M1) with the end and start points of the second roll map (M2), the longitudinal coordinates of the first roll map (M1) may be correlated with the longitudinal coordinates of the second roll map (M2). In some embodiments, the longitudinal coordinates of the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) may be matched with each other using reference points indicated on the non-coating portion (1b) (see FIG. 1).
[0193] As seen above, if the winding direction of the rewinder in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding direction of the unwinder in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are the same (see T11 and T22), the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) can be matched in such a way that the upper surfaces of the first roll map (M1) and the lower surfaces of the second roll map (M2) are matched with the upper surfaces and the lower surfaces of the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) are matched with the order of the lanes being reversed.
[0194] If the winding direction of the rewinder in the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the unwinding direction of the unwinder in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) are different from each other (see T12 and T21), the upper surface of the first roll map (M1) matches the back surface of the second roll map (M2), and the back surface of the first roll map (M1) matches the upper surface of the second roll map (M2), but the order of the lanes is the same, so that the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) can be matched.
[0195] In some embodiments, the first server (150) may be configured to match the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) and then display the matched information on the display device (160). In some embodiments, the first server (150) may be configured to additionally create a single integrated roll map by matching the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2). In some embodiments, the first server (150) may be configured to match the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) and display a single integrated roll map on the display device (160).
[0196] In some embodiments, the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) may also include information about the removed portion. During the first roll-to-roll process (P1) and the second roll-to-roll process (P2), the electrode may be partially removed due to defects or the like, and the removed portion of the electrode may be displayed on both the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2). The portion that is not removed and remains as a valid portion during the roll-to-roll processes is called a surviving electrode portion, and the first roll map (M1) and the second roll map (M2) may include not only the surviving electrode portion but also the removed portion.
[0197] Therefore, the removed portion of the first roll map (M1) also exists as a removed portion in the corresponding portion of the second roll map (M2). In addition, the surviving electrode portion of the second roll map (M2) exists as a surviving electrode portion in the corresponding portion of the first roll map (M1). In some embodiments, the surviving electrode portion of the first roll map (M1) may be partially removed in the second roll-to-roll process (P2) and thus exist as a removed portion in the corresponding portion of the second roll map (M2).
[0198]

Therefore, modifications to future embodiments of the present invention will not depart from the scope of the invention.
