Abstract

The invention relates to sports accessories for table games, and more particularly to a billiards accessory in the form of a tip for a billiard cue. An exotip for a billiard cue is known from Russian patent application RU2662626, filed on 04.05.2017. The present invention has multiple advantages over the prior art and provides technical improvements by virtue of a unique design feature in the form of a composite. The technical result, achieved by extensive scientific research and technical experimentation, is the creation of a billiard cue tip consisting of specially treated leather and a specific polymer. The leather is treated in specialized solutions and reagents to obtain a nanoporous structure of collagen fibres. Each collagen fibre of the leather which has a thickness of 5 micrometres contains around 150-450 nanofibres twisted tightly together into a single strand in a spiral cable-like fashion. Once the leather has been treated with the special compositions, the collagen fibres of the leather acquire a nanoporous structure that allows the adhesion of abrasive microparticles of billiard chalk. This gives rise to the main result, namely that microabrasive particles of chalk adhere to the spherical striking surface of the tip in a thin layer, thus forming a friction surface for improved frictional engagement of the tip with a ball. The thickness of the abrasive layer on the striking surface is, on average, 20-100 μm and depends on the density and type of the leather. The leather used for the tip is cowhide from select breeds of cattle. The leather is treated with special compositions and chemical substances to produce a raw unadulterated manufacturing material in a pure form of collagen fibres that provide for the structural integrity of a tip. The combined use of a polymer and leather in a specific ratio lends the tip strength, wear resistance, elasticity, structural integrity, resistance to deformation, and durability. Exposure to external factors and agents, such as enzymes, humidity, heat and chemicals, does not result in a decline in the performance of the article. The design of the tip is that of a one-piece structure in the form of a composite. Through the use of a specific chemical substance, a gloss does not form on the striking surface of the tip during use and chalk settles evenly on the striking surface of the tip during chalking.

Description

[0001] Billiard cue sticker

[0002] Description of the invention.

[0003] Field of technology - The invention relates to sports equipment for table games, namely to billiard equipment in the form of a sticker for a billiard cue.

[0004] The technical result is increased strength, high wear resistance, no deformation, elasticity, information content, the ability to stick chalk to the spherical surface of the striker due to the nanoporosity of the skin, long service life, increased resistance to enzymes and moisture, the absence of hygroscopicity is achieved due to the design feature - composite.

[0005] The composite sticker has a very high hardness - 100 units on the Shore scale, due to which it has a very high information content, which is very important for playing billiards! High hardness allows the billiard player to perform complex tasks - exits on strong and weak strikes, a very precise strike size, dosing the strike to the ideal. High strength provides the sticker with a long service life without damage and deformation. The chalk glued to the surface of the striker of the sticker creates an abrasive surface for performing a high-quality strike without kicks and even without micro-kicks (micro-slipping) of the strike fixation point. Due to this, strikes on the cue ball are made with very high accuracy without error. This is very important for performing strikes with exits.

Claims

Invention formula A billiard cue sticker having a convex body made of a dense elastic material with a cavity formed in it, characterized in that:

1. The billiard cue sticker is made of composite material consisting of specially treated leather and polymer.
