Description

MULTI-MASTER-SLAVE CONTROL SYSTEM, METHOD AND STORAGE MEDIUMFIELD

[0001] The present application relates to industrial control technologies, and more particularly, to a multi-master-slave control system, method and computer readable storage medium.BACKGROUND

[0002] With the improvement of production safety requirements and automation in the production environment, production technicians have gradually shifted to remote work. There are many challenges in remote operation field, especially for remote master-slave control.

[0003] One of the most significant challenges is that although the traditional point-to-point control method addresses the basic requirement of one master controlling one slave device, it is not suitable and feasible in multi-master-slave collaboration environment.

[0004] For example, on the slave side, when the completion of a task needs coordinating more than one robot in the field or when multiple on-site execution devices are required to cooperate with each other to complete a task, slave devices may be restricted by each other for execution sequence and exception handling. The same thing happens on the master side in case of multiple master terminals.

[0005] Currently, a centralized control method is widely used for multi-master-slave control. Figure 1 is a schematic diagram illustrating a multi-master-slave control system in an application. As shown in figure 1, the system includes a central computing side 1 (for instance, a cloud side) , two remote master devices (for instance, two operating devices 21, 22) and four slave devices (for instance, two AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicle) 31, 32 and two robots 33, 34) .

[0006] In this case, most computing is done by the central computing side with a little of computing effort done by master-slave side. The computing done by the master-slave side may be operated through abstract APIs of the master-slave side.

[0007] The lack of direct and adequate data exchange between physical and logical related terminals results in a large amount of collaborative computing being handled by  central computing resources of the central computing side. As a side effect, the real-time performance of the system is largely dependent on and restricted by the network environment, such as network delay

[0008] Therefore, those skilled in the art are committed to finding solutions for a multi-master-slave control system.SUMMARY

[0009] According to embodiments of the present application, a multi-master-slave control system, method and computer readable storage medium are provided to improve the real-time performance of the multi-master-slave control system.

[0011] In an example, wherein the edge computing side comprises: multiple graduated edge computing layers which implement graduated control for the slave devices.

[0036] The reference numerals are as follows: DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0037] In order to improve the real-time performance of a multi-master-slave control system, it is considered to introduce edge computing between the central computing side and the master-slave side, so that some collaborative computing with real-time requirements could be relegated from the central computing side to edge computing side.

[0038] In an example, the edge computing may be achieved by multiple edge computing layers, and the multiple edge computing layers may be graduated edge computing layers. That is to say, the graduated edge computing layers may implement graduated control from the abstract to the concrete.

[0039] Reference will now be made in detail to examples, which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. In the following detailed description, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present application. Also, the figures are illustrations of an example, in which assemblies shown in the figures are not  necessarily essential for implementing the present application. In other instances, well-known assemblies, components, and circuits have not been described in detail so as not to unnecessarily obscure aspects of the examples.

[0040] Figure 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating a multi-master-slave control system according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in figure 2, the system includes a central computing side 1, a master-slave side which comprises at least one master device 2 and multiple slave devices 3, and an edge computing side 4.

[0042] The edge computing side 4 is configured to perform collaborative control computing of relevant slave devices according to a task from a master device when the task is a collaborative control task, so as to collaboratively control the relevant slave devices.

[0043] In the embodiment, when there are more than one master devices, the edge computing side 4 may further be configured to perform collaborative process computing of relevant master devices, so as to collaboratively process event requests of the relevant master devices and generate a valid task request.

[0044] In an example, the edge computing side 4 may include multiple graduated edge computing layers which may implement graduated control from the abstract to the concrete. For example, the multiple graduated edge computing layers may perform graduated control for the slave devices, and perform graduated process for the master devices.

[0045] For example, figure 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating a multi-master-slave control system according to another embodiment of the present application. As shown in figure 3, the edge computing side 4 includes four edge computing layers, task layer 41, grouping and collaboration layer 42, object modeling and data fusion layer 43 and canonical connector layer 44.

[0047] In an example, the task layer 41 may include a task definition module 411 and a task factoring module 412.

[0048] The task definition module 411 is configured to create tasks composed of collaborative sequences, and register created tasks on the central computing side 1.

[0049] The task factoring module 412 is configured to decompose one received task into corresponding collaborative sequences. The collaborative sequences include at least one action sequence, each action sequence in the collaborative sequences belongs to one slave model instance, and each slave model instance is an equivalent digital model of a specific physical device, for instance, a slave device. There may be signal synchronization among different action sequences.

[0050] Figure 4 is a schematic diagram illustrating a task structure according to an example of the present application. As shown in figure 4, one task may be decomposed into one or more collaboration sequences, and each collaboration sequences include one or more action sequences AS1, AS2, …, ASn, each action sequence belongs to one slave model instance SMI1, SMI2, …, SMIn, and each model instance is an equivalent digital model of a slave device SD1, SD2, …, SDn. There may be signal synchronization among different action sequences.

[0051] For the collaborative control of slave devices, the grouping and collaboration layer 42 is configured to group a set of slave model instances which have physical or logical collaboration as one work cell, perform signal definition among slave model instances of related slave devices in collaborative sequences, and map each action sequence into an action request to corresponding slave device. Slave model instances of slave devices in the multi-master-slave control system may be divided into at least one group.

[0052] In an example, the grouping and collaboration layer 42 may include an interactive definition module 421 and a sequence execution module 422.

[0054] The sequence execution module 422 is configured to map each action sequence into action request to corresponding slave device, namely the sequence execution module 422 may decompose each step in one action sequence to invocation of interfaces in model instance.

[0055] For the collaborative control of slave devices, the object modeling and data fusion layer 43 is configured to define equivalent digital models for each class of slave devices to obtain slave model classes, and define public interfaces for access; each slave model class can be instantiated as a slave model instance of a slave device when the slave device is connected into the multi-master-slave control system. Namely, the object modeling and data fusion layer 43 may generate a slave model instance for each slave device. The object modeling and data fusion layer 43 is also configured to update a slave model instance with action request to trigger corresponding command generation, and fuse dynamic data for example feedback data of an execution result into corresponding slave model instance.

[0059] For the collaborative control of slave devices, the canonical connector layer 44 is configured to mainly address communication with master and slave devices from various vendors. For example, the canonical connector layer 44 may configure communication protocol selection and data preprocessing rules for slave devices, send corresponding  command to corresponding slave device after data format of the command is converted from unified format for instance canonical labeled data format to protocol-specific data format namely a data format supported by the slave device, and receive execution result from the slave device and convert data format of the execution result from protocol-specific data format to unified format for instance canonical labeled data format.

[0060] In an example, the canonical connector layer 44 may include a first connector configuring module 441 and a slave connector module 442.

[0061] The first connector configuring module 441 is configured to configure communication protocol selection and data preprocessing rules of each slave device.

[0062] The slave connector module 442 is configured to send corresponding commands to corresponding slave device after data format of the commands is converted from canonical labeled data format to protocol-specific data format of the slave device, and receive execution result from the slave device and convert data format of the execution result from protocol-specific data format to canonical labeled data format.
