Description

A projection light core, projection system and related equipment

[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office on August 29, 2023, with application number CN202311101222.8 and application name “A projection light core, projection system and related equipment”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field

[0002] The embodiments of the present application relate to the field of optical display technology, and in particular to a projection light core, a projection system, and related equipment. Background Art

[0003] As society fully enters the multimedia information age, information has transitioned from simple digital text to multimedia formats primarily based on images and sounds. Projection systems enable multimedia displays. The structure of a projection system is shown in Figure 1, which illustrates an example of the structure of an existing projection system.

[0004] In existing projection systems, white light 101 emitted by a light source is transmitted to a dichroic mirror 102, which splits the white light into a mixed light beam 103 and a green light beam 104. A reflector 105 reflects green light beam 104 to a light-combining module 106. Mixed light beam 103 is transmitted to a dichroic mirror 107, which splits mixed light beam 103 into a red light beam 108 and a blue light beam 109. Red light beam 108 and blue light beam 109 are transmitted to light-combining module 106. Light-combining module 106 combines green light beam 104, red light beam 108, and blue light beam 109 into a projection beam, which is then transmitted to a lens for projection imaging.

[0005] However, the existing projection system has a complex optical path, which increases the size of the projection system and cannot meet the demand for miniaturization of the projection system.

[0006] Summary of the Invention

[0007] The embodiments of the present application provide a projection light core, a projection system, and related equipment, which can reduce the optical path length of the projection light core, thereby reducing the volume of the projection light core and improving the integration of the projection light core.

[0008] In a first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a projection light core, comprising a spectroscopic component, a reflector group, and an image modulation module, wherein the spectroscopic component comprises a first dichroic mirror and a second dichroic mirror, and the first dichroic mirror and the second dichroic mirror intersect, and the intersection of the first dichroic mirror and the second dichroic mirror means that there is an intersection point between the first dichroic mirror and the second dichroic mirror or the first dichroic mirror and the second dichroic mirror are in a cross positional relationship. For example, the first dichroic mirror intersects with the second dichroic mirror and is perpendicular to each other. The spectroscopic component is used to split the input light beam to obtain a projection light beam, and transmit the projection light beam to the reflector group, the projection light beam comprising a blue light beam, a green light beam, and a red light beam; the reflector group is used to reflect the projection light beam to the image modulation module, and the spectroscopic component intersects with a reference plane, for example, the spectroscopic component is perpendicular to the reference plane. There is a first angle between the transmission direction of the input light beam and the reference plane, and there is a second angle between the transmission direction of the projection light beam emitted from the reflector group and the reference plane, and the absolute value of the first angle is smaller than the absolute value of the second angle; the image modulation module is used to modulate the projection light beam to obtain an imaging light beam, and the imaging light beam is used for projection imaging.

[0009] Using the projection light core shown in this aspect, the spectrometer assembly serves as an optical device, splitting the entire light beam once, so that the spectrometer assembly outputs monochromatic light beams. Because the projection light core only requires one optical device, the spectrometer assembly, to split the light beam, there is no need to use another optical device to split the light beam, thus reducing the length of the optical path between the input light beam emitted by the light source and the imaging light beam. When the absolute value of the first angle is smaller than the absolute value of the second angle, the volume of the projection light core is effectively reduced, and the integration of the projection light core is improved.

[0010] Based on the first aspect, in an optional implementation, a transmission direction of the imaging light beam is opposite to a transmission direction of the input light beam.

[0011] By adopting this implementation, when the transmission direction of the imaging light beam is opposite to the transmission direction of the input light beam, the volume of the projection light core is effectively reduced and the integration of the projection light core is improved.

[0012] Based on the first aspect, in an optional implementation, the absolute value of the second angle is not less than 75 degrees and not greater than 105 degrees.

[0013] This implementation method effectively ensures that the blue light beam, green light beam and red light beam emitted by the reflector group can be successfully transmitted to the image modulation module, ensuring the success rate of projection imaging. Moreover, it reduces the volume of the projection light core and improves the integration of the projection light core.

[0014] Based on the first aspect, in an optional implementation, if the image modulation module is located above the reference plane along the direction of gravity, the projection light beam emitted from the reflector group is deflected in a counterclockwise direction relative to the reference plane.

[0015] Using this implementation method, if the position of the image modulation module is adjusted to be above the reference plane along the direction of gravity, the projection light beam emitted from the reflector group is deflected in a counterclockwise direction relative to the reference plane, effectively reducing the volume of the projection light core and improving the integration of the projection light core.

[0019] As shown in this aspect, the splitter component is used as an optical device to split the entire light beam once, so as to obtain a blue light beam output from the first output module, thereby reducing the length of the optical path between the light beam emitted by the light source and the blue light beam, reducing the volume of the projection light core, and improving the integration of the projection light core.

[0057] The following will be combined with the drawings in the embodiments of this application to clearly and completely describe the technical solutions in the embodiments of this application. Obviously, the embodiments described are only part of the embodiments of this application, not all of the embodiments. Based on the embodiments in this application, all other embodiments obtained by those skilled in the art without making creative efforts are within the scope of protection of this application.

[0058] An embodiment of the present application provides a projection system. The projection system shown in this embodiment can be applied to portable display devices (such as projection mobile phones), home theaters, commercial projections (such as light shows, concerts), outdoor projections, conference presentations, classroom presentations, movie screenings, smart gesture interactive projections, smart home smart walls, head-up displays (HUDs), augmented reality head-up display systems (AR-HUDs), AR glasses, and virtual reality (VR) glasses, etc., without specific limitation.

[0059] Figure 2a illustrates the overall structure of the first embodiment of the projection system provided herein. Figure 2b illustrates a top-down optical path diagram of the projection system shown in Figure 2a. Figure 3 illustrates the structure of the projection optical core shown in Figure 2a. The projection system shown in this embodiment includes a light source 201, a projection optical core 400, and a lens 270. The projection optical core 400 includes a beam splitter assembly 206, a reflector assembly, a first image modulation module 254a, a second image modulation module 254b, and a third image modulation module 254c, and a light combining module 260.

[0060] The light source 201 shown in this embodiment is used to emit an input light beam 301. The input light beam 301 is white light, which can also be called white light, achromatic light, or colorless light. The input light beam 301 is the result of mixing multiple colored lights in a certain proportion. The light source 201 can be an incandescent lamp (e.g., a halogen tungsten lamp), a gas discharge lamp (e.g., a high-pressure mercury lamp and a xenon lamp), a metal halide lamp, a fluorescent lamp, a laser array, or an emitter based on a light-emitting diode (LED). The laser array may include one or more lasers, which may be laser diodes (LDs), vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs), or Fabry-Perot lasers. Optionally, the projection light core 400 may include a light homogenizer, which is located in the transmission optical path of the input light beam 301 emitted from the light source 201 to ensure that the light homogenizer can successfully receive the input light beam 301 emitted by the light source 201. The light homogenizing device is used to perform light homogenization on the input light beam 301 to output the light beam 302 after the light homogenization. The light homogenizing device shown in this embodiment can be a fly-eye lens, a free-form surface lens, or a light homogenizing rod. In this embodiment, the light homogenizing device includes two fly-eye lenses, namely a first fly-eye lens 202 and a second fly-eye lens 203 as an example. The first fly-eye lens 202 and the second fly-eye lens 203 perform light homogenization on the input light beam 301 in sequence to output the input light beam 302 after the light homogenization. Optionally, the first fly-eye lens 202 and the second fly-eye lens 203 shown in this embodiment can also be two sides of a light homogenizing lens. The description of the light homogenizing device in this embodiment is an optional example and is not limited.

[0061] Optionally, the projection light core 400 shown in this embodiment further includes a first polarization conversion module 204, which is located in the transmission optical path of the homogenized light beam 302. Because the image modulation module needs to modulate linearly polarized light, it is necessary to ensure that the light beam transmitted to the image modulation module contains linearly polarized light. The first polarization conversion module 204 shown in this embodiment is located between the homogenizing device and the beam splitter 206. The first polarization conversion module 204 converts the homogenized light beam 302 into a polarization-purified light beam 303, which contains linearly polarized light. It will be appreciated that, in this embodiment, the first polarization conversion module 204 increases the proportion of linearly polarized light in the polarization-purified light beam 303. For example, if the proportion of linearly polarized light in the homogenized light beam 302 is 50%, after purification by the first polarization conversion module 204, the proportion of linearly polarized light in the polarization-purified light beam 303 is increased to 95%. When the light beam 303 contains linearly polarized light, imaging efficiency and contrast can be effectively improved. The first polarization conversion module 204 can be a polarization conversion system (PCS), for example. For example, the first polarization conversion module 204 includes a polarization beam splitter and a half-glass. The first polarization conversion module 204 shown in this embodiment is optional. For example, if the input light beam 301 emitted by the light source 201 is a laser beam, the first polarization conversion module 204 may not be provided because the laser beam itself is linearly polarized light.

[0062] Optionally, the projection optical core 400 shown in this embodiment further includes a first lens group 205, which is positioned on the optical path of the polarization-purified light beam 303 emitted from the first polarization conversion module 204. Furthermore, the first lens group 205 is positioned between the first polarization conversion module 204 and the beam splitter assembly 206. The first lens group 205 is configured to converge the polarization-purified light beam 303 emitted from the first polarization conversion module 204 to the beam splitter assembly 206. Specifically, the first lens group 205 is configured to converge the light beam 303 to emit a converged light beam 304, and the beam splitter assembly 206 is positioned on the optical path of the converged light beam 304. The first lens group 205 includes one or more lenses, and this embodiment does not limit the number of lenses included in the first lens group 205.

[0063] The spectrometer assembly 206 is used to split the light beam 304 to obtain a blue light beam 305a, a green light beam 305b, and a red light beam 305c. Specifically, the spectrometer assembly 206 shown in this embodiment includes a first output module 212, a second output module 213, and a third output module 214. The spectrometer assembly 206 receives the light beam 304 and, as a whole, splits the light beam once to obtain a blue light beam 305a, a green light beam 305b, and a red light beam 305c. The spectrometer assembly 206 outputs the blue light beam 305a via the first output module 212, the green light beam 305b via the second output module 213, and the red light beam 305c via the third output module 214. It will be understood that each output module of the spectrometer assembly 206 shown in this embodiment is capable of producing a single monochromatic light beam. In this embodiment, the spectrometer assembly 206, as a whole, splits the light beam 304 once to obtain three monochromatic light beams: the blue light beam 305a, the green light beam 305b, and the red light beam 305c. The specific structure of the light splitting component 206 is described below:

[0064] FIG4 b is a diagram illustrating the structure of the spectroscopic assembly shown in FIG2 a. The spectroscopic assembly 206 shown in this embodiment includes a first dichroic mirror 401 and a second dichroic mirror 402. The dichroic mirrors shown in this embodiment may also be referred to as dichroic spectroscopes or dichroic mirrors, etc., without limitation. The first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 intersect. The intersection of the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 means that the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 have an intersection or are in a cross-positioned relationship. For example, the first dichroic mirror and the second dichroic mirror intersect and are perpendicular to each other. In this embodiment, the second dichroic mirror 402 is a complete structure, and the first dichroic mirror 401 includes two separated sub-mirrors. That is, the first dichroic mirror 401 includes a first sub-mirror 411 and a second sub-mirror 412, and there is a gap between the first sub-mirror 411 and the second sub-mirror 412. The first dichroic mirror 401 passes through the gap between the first sub-mirror 411 and the second sub-mirror 412 to ensure that the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 intersect. In this embodiment, the angle at which the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 intersect is not limited. For example, the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 intersect and are perpendicular to each other. Specifically, the second dichroic mirror includes a third sub-mirror 421 and a fourth sub-mirror 422. It can be understood that when the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 intersect and are perpendicular to each other, the angle between the first sub-mirror 411 and the third sub-mirror 421, the angle between the first sub-mirror 411 and the fourth sub-mirror 422, the angle between the second sub-mirror 412 and the third sub-mirror 421, and the angle between the second sub-mirror 412 and the fourth sub-mirror 422 are all right angles. It should be understood that the description of the structure of the light splitting component 206 in this embodiment is an optional example and is not limiting. For example, the first dichroic mirror 401 may be a complete structure, while a gap may be provided between the third sub-mirror 421 and the fourth sub-mirror 422, and the first dichroic mirror 401 may pass through the gap between the third sub-mirror 421 and the fourth sub-mirror 422. For another example, the first dichroic mirror 401 may include a first sub-mirror 411 and a second sub-mirror 412, which are separated from each other, and the second dichroic mirror 402 may include a third sub-mirror 421 and a fourth sub-mirror 422, which are separated from each other. This embodiment does not limit the structures of the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 , as long as the first dichroic mirror 401 and the second dichroic mirror 402 are in an intersecting position relationship.

[0065] The first sub-mirror 411 receives the light beam 304 and splits the light beam 304 to obtain a red light beam 305c and a first mixed light beam 432. This embodiment uses the first mixed light beam 432 as an example, which is a cyan light beam mixed with a green light beam and a blue light beam. Figure 5a is an example of a transmission spectrum of the first dichroic mirror shown in Figure 4b. The horizontal axis of the transmission spectrum shown in Figure 5a is wavelength, in nanometers (nm). The vertical axis is the transmittance corresponding to each wavelength. As shown above, if the light beam 304 is white light, then the light beam 304 is a mixture of a red light beam, a blue light beam, and a green light beam. The center wavelength of the blue light beam is 465nm, the center wavelength of the green light beam is 550nm, and the center wavelength of the red light beam is 640nm. It should be understood that this embodiment does not limit the center wavelengths of the red light beam, the blue light beam, and the green light beam. In the spectrum, the wavelength bands of the blue light beam, the green light beam, and the red light beam increase in sequence. In the transmission spectrum shown in Figure 5a, the transmittance corresponding to the blue beam is close to 1. Therefore, the blue beam in light beam 304 is transmitted through the first sub-mirror 411. The transmittance corresponding to the green beam is also close to 1. Therefore, the green beam in light beam 304 is transmitted through the first sub-mirror 411. It can be understood that, based on the transmission spectrum shown in Figure 5a, the first sub-mirror 411 transmits a first mixed beam 432, which is a cyan beam. The cyan beam comprises the green and blue beams that have been transmitted through the first sub-mirror 411 and are in a mixed state. Figure 5b shows an example of a reflection spectrum of the first dichroic mirror shown in Figure 4b. The abscissa of the reflection spectrum in Figure 5b represents wavelength, and the ordinate represents the reflectivity corresponding to each wavelength. Combining Figures 5a and 5b, the transmittance corresponding to the blue and green beams in Figure 5a is close to 1, and the reflectivity corresponding to each wavelength is 0 in Figure 5b. Therefore, the blue and green beams are transmitted only through the first sub-mirror 411. The red light beam has a transmittance of 0 in Figure 5a and a reflectance of 1 in Figure 5b. Therefore, the red light beam is reflected only from the first sub-mirror 411. It can be understood that a red light beam 305c is reflected from the first sub-mirror 411. The first mixed light beam 432 transmitted from the first sub-mirror 411 is transmitted to the third sub-mirror 421, which splits the first mixed light beam 432 to produce a blue light beam 305a and a green light beam 305b. The blue light beam 305a is reflected from the third sub-mirror 421, while the green light beam 305b is transmitted from the third sub-mirror 421. For the description of the transmission and reflection spectra of the third sub-mirror 421 in this embodiment, please refer to the description of the transmission and reflection spectra of the first sub-mirror 411. The details are not repeated here. It is sufficient to say that the blue light beam 305a is reflected from the third sub-mirror 421 and the green light beam 305b is transmitted from the third sub-mirror 421.

[0066] The fourth sub-mirror 422 receives the light beam 304 and splits it to obtain another blue light beam 305a and a second mixed light beam 436. Furthermore, the blue light beam 305a is reflected from the fourth sub-mirror 422, while the second mixed light beam 436 is transmitted through the fourth sub-mirror 422 and transmitted to the second sub-mirror 412. The second mixed light beam 436 shown in this embodiment is yellow light, a mixture of red and green light beams. The description of the transmission and reflection spectra of the fourth sub-mirror 422 in this embodiment can be found in the description of the transmission and reflection spectra of the first sub-mirror 411, and the details are not repeated here. It is sufficient that the blue light beam 305a is reflected from the fourth sub-mirror 422 and the second mixed light beam 436 is transmitted through the fourth sub-mirror 422. Upon receiving the second mixed light beam 436, the second sub-mirror 412 splits the second mixed light beam 436 to obtain another green light beam 305b and another red light beam 305c. For the description of the transmission spectrum and reflection spectrum of the second sub-mirror 412 in this embodiment, please refer to the description of the transmission spectrum and reflection spectrum of the first sub-mirror 411. The details are not repeated here. It is sufficient as long as the green light beam 305b is transmitted from the second sub-mirror 412 and the red light beam 305c is reflected from the second sub-mirror 412.

[0067] As shown in Figures 2b and 4b , the first output module 212 of the spectroscopic assembly 206 includes the third sub-mirror 421 and the fourth sub-mirror 422. The first output module is configured to output the blue light beam 305a. It should be noted that if the first sub-mirror 411 is located in the optical path of the blue light beam 305a, then the first sub-mirror 411 can, based on the transmission spectrum, cause the blue light beam 305a to be transmitted through the first sub-mirror 411. The second output module 213 of the spectroscopic assembly 206 includes the third sub-mirror 421 and the second sub-mirror 412. The second output module 213 is configured to output the green light beam 305b. The third output module 214 includes the first sub-mirror 411 and the second sub-mirror 412. The third output module is configured to output the red light beam 305c. It should be noted that if the fourth sub-mirror 422 is located in the optical path of the red light beam 305c, then the fourth sub-mirror 422 can, based on the transmission spectrum, cause the red light beam 305c to be transmitted through the fourth sub-mirror 422. The description of the splitting light path of the splitting component 206 in this embodiment is an optional example and is not limiting. For example, the red light beam in the light beam 304 is emitted through the fourth sub-mirror 422 and the third sub-mirror 421 in sequence, and the blue light beam in the light beam 304 is emitted through the first sub-mirror 411 and the second sub-mirror 412 in sequence, that is, the light path for transmitting the red light beam and the light path for transmitting the blue light beam in the splitting component 306 can be swapped.

[0068] The reflector assembly specifically includes a first reflector 251a, a second reflector 251b, and a third reflector 251c. The first reflector 251a is located in the optical path of the blue light beam 305a and is used to reflect the blue light beam 305a to the first image modulation module 254a. The second reflector 251b is located in the optical path of the green light beam 305b and is used to reflect the green light beam 305b to the second image modulation module 254b. The third reflector 251c is located in the optical path of the red light beam 305c and is used to reflect the red light beam 305c to the third image modulation module 254c. That is, the first reflector 251a, the second reflector 251b, and the third reflector 251c shown in this embodiment are used to adjust the transmission directions of the blue light beam 305a, the green light beam 305b, and the red light beam 305c, thereby ensuring that the blue light beam 305a, the green light beam 305b, and the red light beam 305c can be successfully transmitted to the first image modulation module 254a, the second image modulation module 254b, and the third image modulation module 254c, respectively. The blue light beam 305a, the green light beam 305b, and the red light beam 305c emitted from the first reflector 251a, the second reflector 251b, and the third reflector 251c are defined as projection beams in this embodiment of the application. The transmission direction of the input light beam 301 and the transmission direction of the projection beam are described below:

[0069] As shown in Figure 4a, the light source 201 and the beam splitter 206 intersect at a reference plane 280. For example, preferably, the light source 201 and the beam splitter 206 are perpendicular to the reference plane 280. It should be noted that this embodiment does not limit the angle at which the light source 201 and the beam splitter 206 intersect the reference plane 280. The angle between the propagation direction of the input light beam 301 emitted from the light source 201 and the reference plane 280 is a first angle. In the projected light beam, taking the blue light beam 305a as an example, the angle between the propagation direction of the blue light beam 305a emitted from the first reflector 251a and the reference plane 280 is a second angle. In this embodiment, the absolute value of the first angle is smaller than the absolute value of the second angle. For example, if the first image modulation module 254a is located above the reference plane 280 along the direction of gravity, the blue light beam 305a emitted from the first reflector 251a is deflected counterclockwise relative to the reference plane 280. In this embodiment, a positive angle is defined when the light beam deflects counterclockwise relative to the reference plane 280, and a negative angle is defined when the light beam deflects clockwise relative to the reference plane 280. As an example, the blue light beam 305a shown in this embodiment deflects counterclockwise relative to the reference plane 280, so the second angle shown in this embodiment is a positive angle. It should be noted that this embodiment does not limit the positional relationship between the first image modulation module 254a and the reference plane 280 when the projection system is in use. For example, when the projection system is in use, the first image modulation module 254a may be located below the reference plane 280 along the direction of gravity. For another example, when the projection system is in use, the first image modulation module 254a may be located below the reference plane 280 along the direction of gravity. For another example, when the projection system is in use, the first image modulation module 254a may be located to one side of the reference plane 280 along the horizontal direction. It should also be clarified that this embodiment uses the example of a positive angle defined when deflected counterclockwise relative to reference plane 280, without limitation. In other examples, a negative angle may be defined when deflected counterclockwise relative to reference plane 280. This embodiment uses the example of an absolute value of the second angle being no less than 75 degrees and no greater than 105 degrees. It should be clarified that the description of the magnitude of the second angle in this embodiment is optional and not limiting. In this embodiment, the first angle is zero degrees, meaning the transmission direction of input light beam 301 is parallel to reference plane 280, and the second angle is 90 degrees, meaning the transmission direction of blue light beam 305a is perpendicular to reference plane 280. For a description of the transmission directions of green light beam 305b and red light beam 305c, please refer to the description of the transmission direction of blue light beam 305a; details are not repeated here. In this embodiment, where the absolute value of the first angle is smaller than the absolute value of the second angle, the integration of the projection system is effectively improved, reducing the size of the projection system.

[0070] Optionally, the projection light core 400 may further include a second lens group, a second polarization conversion module 253a, a third polarization conversion module 253b, and a fourth polarization conversion module 253c. Specifically, the second lens group includes lenses 252a, 252b, and 252c. Lens 252a is used to converge the blue light beam 305a emitted by the first reflector 251a onto the second polarization conversion module 253a, lens 252b is used to converge the green light beam 305b emitted by the second reflector 251b onto the third polarization conversion module 253b, and lens 252c is used to converge the red light beam 305c emitted by the third reflector 251c onto the fourth polarization conversion module 253c. For a description of the structure of the second lens group, please refer to the description of the first lens group above, and the details are not repeated here. The second polarization conversion module 253a is used to purify the polarization state of the blue light beam 305a to output a purified blue light beam, thereby ensuring that the polarization state of the purified blue light beam emitted from the second polarization conversion module 253a includes linearly polarized light. In this embodiment, the second polarization conversion module 253a is used to increase the proportion of linearly polarized light in the purified blue light beam. For example, the proportion of linearly polarized light in the purified blue light beam is 99%. It can be understood that the proportion of linearly polarized light emitted from the second polarization conversion module 253a is greater than the proportion of linearly polarized light emitted from the first polarization conversion module 204. In this embodiment, the second polarization conversion module 253a is used as a filter as an example. For example, the second polarization conversion module 253a can increase the proportion of P polarization state (polarization direction parallel to the paper) included in the emitted purified blue light beam. The third polarization conversion module 253b is used to purify the polarization state of the blue-green light beam 305b to output a purified green light beam, thereby increasing the proportion of the P polarization state included in the purified green light beam emitted from the third polarization conversion module 253b. The fourth polarization conversion module 253c is used to purify the polarization state of the red light beam 305c to output a purified red light beam, thereby increasing the proportion of the P polarization state included in the purified red light beam emitted from the fourth polarization conversion module 253c. The second polarization conversion module 253a, the third polarization conversion module 253b, and the fourth polarization conversion module 253c of this embodiment can ensure that the P polarization purity of the purified blue light beam, the purified green light beam, and the purified red light beam is improved, thereby improving the contrast of the images generated by the first image modulation module 254a, the second image modulation module 254b, and the third image modulation module 254c based on the purified blue light beam, the purified green light beam, and the purified red light beam.

[0071] In this embodiment, the first image modulation module 254a is located in the optical path of the purified blue light beam emitted from the second polarization conversion module 253a. The second image modulation module 254b is located in the optical path of the purified green light beam emitted from the third polarization conversion module 253b. The third image modulation module 254c is located in the optical path of the purified red light beam emitted from the fourth polarization conversion module 253c. Taking the first image modulation module 254a as an example, the first image modulation module 254a obtains the image source to be projected. This image source can be a video or an image. Optionally, the first image modulation module 254a in this embodiment can include an external interface. The first image modulation module 254a receives an image source from any electronic device through this external interface. The external interface is connected to the electronic device. This external interface can be an external bus interface, a front-side bus, a display interface, a video display interface, or a graphics interface. The video display interface may be a digital visual interface (DVI), a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI), or a video graphics array (VGA). Optionally, the first image modulation module 254a shown in this embodiment may include an internal interface. The internal interface of the first image modulation module 254a is connected to the controller. The first image modulation module 254a receives an image source from the controller via the internal interface. The internal interface may be a bus, a local input / output (I / O) bus, a hub interface bus, or the like. The first image modulation module 254a modulates the purified blue light beam from the first image modulation module 254a according to the image source to obtain a first modulated light beam corresponding to the image source.

[0072] The controller may be one or more chips, or one or more integrated circuits. For example, the controller may be one or more optical digital signal processors (oDSPs), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), system-on-chips (SoCs), central processor units (CPUs), network processors (NPs), microcontroller units (MCUs), programmable logic devices (PLDs), network card chips, storage interface chips, or other integrated chips, or any combination of the above chips or processors, and the details are not described in detail.

[0073] Figure 6a is a modulation example diagram of the first image modulation module shown in Figure 2a. The first image modulation module 254a specifically includes a polarizer 601 and a reflective modulator 602. The reflective modulator 602 can be a digital micromirror device (DMD) or liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS), and the specific type is not limited in this embodiment. This embodiment uses the reflective modulator 602 as an example. The reflective modulator 602 includes multiple pixel regions, each of which is configured to receive a purified blue light beam. By controlling the voltage applied to the reflective modulator 602, the pixel regions are controlled to the non-projection state shown in Figure 6a. Pixel regions controlled to the non-projection state are in an off state and do not transmit the modulated light beam to the light combining module 260. It will be understood that if the purified blue light beam impinges on a pixel region in the off state, the purified blue light beam is transmitted, preventing the projected display. Specifically, the polarization state of the purified blue light beam includes a P polarization state (the polarization direction shown is parallel to the paper). The purified blue light beam with a P polarization state can be transmitted from the polarizer 601 to the reflective modulator 602, and the polarization state of the purified blue light beam transmitted from the polarizer 601 does not change and remains in the P polarization state. Because the pixel area where the purified blue light beam is incident is in the off state, the reflective modulator 602 does not change the polarization state of the purified blue light beam, so that the polarization state of the dark light beam 603 reflected from the reflective modulator 602 is the P polarization state. The dark light beam 603 with a P polarization state is transmitted from the polarizer 601. Because the light combining module 260 is not located in the transmission light path of the dark light beam 603 transmitted from the polarizer 601, the dark light beam 603 will not be transmitted to the light combining module 260, so that the light combining module 260 will not transmit the dark light beam 603 to the lens 270, thereby ensuring that the dark light beam 603 will not be projected for imaging. The pixel area can also be controlled to be in the projection state shown in Figure 6b by controlling the voltage applied to the reflective modulator 602. Figure 6b is another modulation example diagram of the first image modulation module shown in Figure 2a. The pixel area controlled to be in the projection state is in the on state, and the modulated light beam is transmitted to the light combining module 260. It can be understood that if the purified blue light beam is irradiated on the pixel area in the on state, the purified blue light beam is reflected and transmitted to the light combining module 260 for projection display. Specifically, the polarization state of the purified blue light beam includes a P polarization state. The purified blue light beam with a P polarization state can be transmitted from the polarizer 601 to the reflective modulator 602. Because the pixel area where the purified blue light beam is incident is in the on state, the reflective modulator 602 changes the polarization state of the purified blue light beam so that the first modulated light beam 604 reflected from the reflective modulator 602 includes an S polarization state (the polarization direction is perpendicular to the paper in the figure). The first modulated light beam 604 with an S polarization state is reflected by the polarizer 601 to emit a first modulated light beam 605. Because the light combining module 260 is located in the transmission optical path of the first modulated light beam 605 reflected from the polarizer 601, the first modulated light beam 605 will be transmitted to the light combining module 260, so that the light combining module 260 will transmit the first modulated light beam 605 to the lens 270 to ensure that the first modulated light beam 605 is projected and imaged.

[0074] If the reflective modulator 602 shown in this embodiment is a DMD, the DMD includes a micromirror array comprising multiple micromirrors, each of which is configured to receive a purified blue light beam. By controlling the deflection angle of each micromirror, the micromirror can be controlled to be in a non-projection state or a projection state. For micromirrors controlled in the non-projection state, the purified blue light beam emitted from the micromirror cannot be transmitted to the light combining module 260. For micromirrors controlled in the projection state, the modulated light beam emitted from the micromirror is transmitted to the light combining module 260.

[0075] The second image modulation module 254b receives the purified green light beam and modulates the purified green light beam to emit a second modulated light beam. The third image modulation module 254c receives the purified red light beam and modulates the purified red light beam to emit a third modulated light beam. For a detailed description of this process, please refer to FIG. 6a and FIG. 6b , which illustrate the first image modulation module 254a modulating the purified blue light beam to emit a first modulated light beam. The detailed description of this process is omitted here.

[0076] The light combining module 260 shown in this embodiment receives a first modulated light beam from the first image modulation module 254a, a second modulated light beam from the second image modulation module 254b, and a third modulated light beam from the third image modulation module 254c, and combines the first modulated light beam, the second modulated light beam, and the third modulated light beam to obtain an imaging light beam 310. The light combining module 260 described in this embodiment can be a prism. The light combining module 260 can use spectral light combining, polarization light combining, or aperture light combining to output the projection light beam, and the specific light combining method is not limited.

[0077] The lens 270 is located on the transmission optical path of the imaging light beam 310 emitted from the light combining module 260. The lens 270 receives the imaging light beam 310 and forms an image of the imaging light beam 310. The lens 270 includes one or more lenses. The lens forms a magnified real image of the imaging light beam 310. The lens may be a convex lens or a concave lens. Optionally, the projection system shown in this embodiment may also include a projection screen. Then, the real image corresponding to the imaging light beam 310 emitted by the lens 270 can be displayed on the projection screen. As shown in Figures 2a and 4a, the transmission direction of the imaging light beam 310 is opposite to the transmission direction of the input light beam 301 emitted from the light source 201. Specifically, the transmission direction of the imaging light beam 310 is opposite to the transmission direction of the input light beam 301 emitted from the light source 201, which specifically means that the imaging light beam 310 is transmitted in a direction opposite to the transmission direction of the input light beam 301 emitted from the light source 201. This embodiment does not limit the angle between the input beam 301 and the reference plane 280. For example, the input beam 301 is parallel to the reference plane 280. This embodiment does not limit the angle between the imaging beam 310 and the reference plane 280. For example, the absolute value of the angle between the imaging beam 310 and the reference plane 280 is less than 15 degrees. This embodiment does not limit the angle between the projections of the input beam 301 and the imaging beam 310 on the reference plane 280. For example, the projections of the input beam 301 and the imaging beam 310 on the reference plane 280 are overlapped or parallel. For another example, the projections of the input beam 301 and the imaging beam 310 on the reference plane 280 may form a certain angle, which may be less than 15 degrees. The above descriptions of the transmission directions of the input beam 301 and the imaging beam 310 are interpreted as meaning that the transmission direction of the imaging beam 310 is opposite to the transmission direction of the input beam 301 emitted from the light source 201.

[0078] In the projection system shown in this embodiment, the beam splitter assembly serves as an optical device that splits the entire light beam, causing the first, second, and third output modules of the beam splitter assembly to output monochromatic light beams. Furthermore, the transmission direction of the imaging light beam shown in this embodiment is opposite to that of the input light beam. The projection system only requires a single optical device, the beam splitter assembly, to split the light beam, eliminating the need for additional optical devices. This reduces the optical path length between the input light beam emitted by the light source and the imaging light beam. This effectively improves the integration of the projection system, reduces its size, and enhances its compactness and overall structural symmetry.

[0079] In the embodiment shown in FIG2a, taking the example of the first image modulation module, the second image modulation module, and the third image modulation module as reflective modulators, the projection system shown in this embodiment includes the first image modulation module, the second image modulation module, and the third image modulation module as transmissive modulators. FIG7 is an example diagram of the overall structure of the second embodiment of the projection system provided by this application. The projection system shown in this embodiment includes a light source 701, a projection light core, and a lens 723. The projection light core may specifically include a light homogenizing device 702, a first polarization conversion module 703, a first lens group 704, a light splitting component 705, a reflector group 706, a second lens group 707, a second polarization conversion module 708, a third polarization conversion module 709, a fourth polarization conversion module 710, a first image modulation module 721a, a second image modulation module 721b, a third image modulation module 721c, and a light combining module 722. For a detailed description of the projection light core structure shown in this embodiment, please refer to the corresponding description of FIG2a, and the details will not be repeated here.

[0080] The first image modulation module 721a shown in this embodiment is located on the transmission optical path of the purified blue light beam emitted from the second polarization conversion module 708, the second image modulation module 721b is located on the transmission optical path of the purified green light beam emitted from the third polarization conversion module 709, and the third image modulation module 721c is located on the transmission optical path of the purified red light beam emitted from the fourth polarization conversion module 710. For the description of the purified blue light beam, the purified green light beam, and the purified red light beam, please refer to the embodiment corresponding to Figure 2a, and the details are not repeated here. Taking the first image modulation module 721a as an example, the first image modulation module 721a obtains an image source to be projected, and the first image modulation module 721a modulates the purified blue light beam from the first image modulation module 721a according to the image source to obtain a first modulated light beam corresponding to the image source.

[0081] Figure 8a is a modulation example diagram of the first image modulation module shown in Figure 7. The first image modulation module 721a specifically includes a first polarizer 801, a transmissive modulator 802, and a second polarizer 803. The transmissive modulator 802 may be a liquid crystal display (LCD). The transmissive modulator 802 includes multiple pixel regions, each of which is configured to receive a purified blue light beam 811. The pixel regions are controlled to be in the non-projection state shown in Figure 8a. The pixel regions controlled to the non-projection state are in an off state and do not transmit the modulated light beam to the light combining module 722. Specifically, the polarization state of the purified blue light beam 811 includes a P polarization state. The purified blue light beam 811 having a P polarization state can be transmitted from the first polarizer 801 to the transmissive modulator 802, and the polarization state of the purified blue light beam 811 transmitted from the first polarizer 801 does not change and remains in the P polarization state. It can be understood that the first polarizer 801 transmits P-polarized light and reflects S-polarized light. Because the pixel area where the purified blue light beam 811 is incident is in the off state, the transmissive modulator 802 does not change the polarization state of the purified blue light beam 811, so that the polarization state of the dark light beam 812 transmitted from the transmissive modulator 802 is P-polarized. The second polarizer 803 transmits S-polarized light and reflects P-polarized light. Therefore, the dark light beam 812 with a P-polarized state is reflected from the second polarizer 803. Because the light combining module 722 is not located in the transmission path of the dark light beam 812 reflected from the second polarizer 803, the dark light beam 812 is not transmitted to the light combining module 722, so that the light combining module 722 does not transmit the dark light beam 812 to the lens, ensuring that the dark light beam 812 is not projected into the image. Alternatively, the pixel area of the transmissive modulator 802 can be controlled to be in the projection state shown in Figure 8b. Figure 8b is another modulation example diagram of the first image modulation module shown in Figure 7. When the pixel area controlled to the projection state is in the on state, the modulated light beam is transmitted to the light combining module 722. It can be understood that when the purified blue light beam 811 is irradiated onto the pixel area in the on state, the purified blue light beam 811 can be successfully transmitted to the light combining module 722 for projection display. Specifically, the polarization state of the purified blue light beam 811 includes a P polarization state. The purified blue light beam 811 with a P polarization state can be transmitted from the first polarizer 801 to the transmissive modulator 802. The first polarizer 801 transmits P polarized light and reflects S polarized light. Because the pixel area on which the purified blue light beam 811 is incident is in the on state, the transmissive modulator 802 changes the polarization state of the purified blue light beam 811 so that the first modulated light beam 813 transmitted from the transmissive modulator 802 includes an S polarization state. The first modulated light beam 813 with the S polarization state is transmitted by the second polarizer 803 .The second polarizer 803 transmits S-polarized light and reflects P-polarized light. Therefore, the first modulated light beam 813 with the S-polarized state is transmitted by the second polarizer 803 to the light-combining module 722. Because the light-combining module 722 is located on the transmission optical path of the first modulated light beam 813 transmitted from the second polarizer 803, the first modulated light beam 813 is transmitted to the light-combining module 722, which then transmits the first modulated light beam 813 to the lens, ensuring that the first modulated light beam 813 is projected and imaged.

[0082] The second image modulation module 721b receives the purified green light beam and modulates the purified green light beam to emit a second modulated light beam. The third image modulation module 721c receives the purified red light beam and modulates the purified red light beam to emit a third modulated light beam. For a detailed description of this process, please refer to FIG. 8a and FIG. 8b , which illustrate the first image modulation module 721a modulating the purified blue light beam 811 to emit a first modulated light beam. The detailed description of this process is omitted here.

[0083] The light combining module 722 shown in this embodiment receives the first modulated light beam from the first image modulation module 721a, the second modulated light beam from the second image modulation module 721b, and the third modulated light beam from the third image modulation module 721c, and combines the first modulated light beam, the second modulated light beam, and the third modulated light beam to obtain an imaging light beam. The lens 723 is located on the transmission optical path of the imaging light beam emitted from the light combining module 722. The lens 723 receives the imaging light beam and forms an image of the imaging light beam. For the description of the light combining module 722 and the lens 723 shown in this embodiment, please refer to the corresponding description of Figure 2a, and the details are not repeated here.

[0084] In the projection system shown in this embodiment, the beam splitter assembly serves as an optical device that splits the entire light beam, causing the first, second, and third output modules of the beam splitter assembly to each output a monochromatic light beam. As will be appreciated, the projection system requires only one optical device, the beam splitter assembly, to split the light beam, eliminating the need for additional optical devices. This reduces the optical path length between the light beam emitted by the light source and the imaging beam, reducing the size of the projection system and improving its integration.

[0085] The above example uses a three-chip projection system as an example, wherein a three-chip projection system means that the projection system includes three image modulation modules, namely the first image modulation module, the second image modulation module, and the third image modulation module shown in the above embodiment. This embodiment uses a single-chip projection system as an example, wherein a single-chip projection system means that the projection system includes only one image modulation module. Figure 9 is an example diagram of the overall structure of the third embodiment of the projection system provided by this application. The projection system shown in Figure 9 specifically includes a light source 921, a spectroscopic component 922, a reflector assembly 901, an image modulation module 903, and a lens 904. For detailed descriptions of the light source 921, the spectroscopic component 922, the reflector assembly 901, the image modulation module 903, and the lens 904, please refer to Figure 2a or Figure 7, and the details are not repeated here. The projection system also includes a controller 905 and a color filter wheel 902 located between the reflector assembly 901 and the image modulation module 903. As can be understood, the reflector assembly 901 is configured to emit a blue light beam 911a, a green light beam 911b, and a red light beam 911c. The color filter wheel 902 can rotate under the control of the controller 905. The color filter wheel 902 is coated with blue, red, and green films. During a first time period, the controller 905 drives the blue coating of the color filter wheel 902 to rotate into the transmission path of the projection light beam emitted from the reflector assembly 901. Then, only the blue light beam 911a can pass through the color filter wheel 902 and be transmitted to the image modulation module 903. During a second time period, the controller 905 drives the red coating of the color filter wheel 902 to rotate into the transmission path of the projection light beam emitted from the reflector assembly 901. Then, only the red light beam 911c can pass through the color filter wheel 902 and be transmitted to the image modulation module 903. Similarly, during the third time period, when the controller 905 drives the green coating of the color filter wheel 902 to rotate into the transmission optical path of the projection light beam emitted from the reflector assembly 901, only the green light beam 911b can pass through the color filter wheel 902 to be transmitted to the image modulation module 903. The intersection of any two time periods in the first, second, and third time periods shown in this embodiment on the time axis is empty. It can be understood that the image modulation module 903 receives the blue light beam 911a, the green light beam 911b, and the red light beam 911c in a time-sharing manner. The image modulation module 903 realizes the RGB three-color synthesis imaging light beam and transmits the imaging light beam to the lens 904 so that the lens 904 projects the imaging light beam for imaging.
