AI Technical Summary
At this stage, the luminous efficiency and viewing angle brightness uniformity of quantum dot light emitting diodes (QD-OLEDs) are poor, mainly because the QD materials have limited absorption of blue light backlight and poor viewing angle uniformity of light brightness.
A multi-layer quantum dot layer structure is adopted, wherein the first sub-layer and the second sub-layer respectively contain different kinds of quantum dots and scattered particles. By adjusting the thickness and material composition of each layer, it is ensured that the wavelength ranges of the emitted light of the first sub-layer and the second sub-layer do not completely overlap, thereby improving the absorption rate and brightness conversion efficiency of light.
The luminous efficiency and viewing angle brightness uniformity of quantum dot light emitting diodes are improved, the brightness attenuation of large viewing angles is reduced, and the brightness uniformity of the display panel is enhanced.

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This disclosure claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China on September 4, 2023, with application number 202311132704.X and invention name "Display panel, preparation method thereof, and display device", the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this disclosure. Technical Field
[0003] The present disclosure relates to the field of display technology, and in particular to a display panel and a manufacturing method thereof, and a display device. Background Art
[0004] Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are a hot topic in the display and lighting fields, both domestically and internationally, due to their advantages such as thinness, fast response, low driving voltage, wide operating temperature range, self-luminescence, low energy consumption, and the ability to fabricate flexible devices. However, their broad emission spectrum and peak color gamut coverage limit their development. Quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs), as an emerging technology, have attracted considerable attention and research in recent years due to the quantum confinement effect inherent in the quantum dot material, which transforms a continuous energy band into discrete energy levels, emitting high-purity light with a narrow peak width. Currently, the more mature quantum dot (QD)-OLED device uses a non-pixelated blue OLED device as a backlight. Blue light excites red and green QDs, which emit red and green light, respectively. However, the QD material's inherent absorption of blue backlight limits the quantum dot's luminous efficiency and results in poor viewing angle uniformity of the emitted brightness.

[0079] It should be noted that the sizes and shapes of the figures in the accompanying drawings do not reflect the actual scale and are only for the purpose of illustrating the present disclosure. The same or similar reference numerals throughout represent the same or similar elements or elements having the same or similar functions.
[0080] In related technologies, QD-OLED display products use a non-pixelated blue OLED device as a backlight. A quantum dot layer is placed on the light-emitting side of the device, where blue light excites red and green quantum dots, which emit red and green light, respectively. As shown in Figure 1, the quantum dot layer is composed of a mixture of a substrate material (MS), quantum dots (QD), and scattering particles (SP). This quantum dot layer configuration results in low blue light absorption and brightness conversion efficiency.
[0081] An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a display panel, as shown in FIG2 to FIG4 , the display panel includes:
[0082] The base substrate 1 includes a plurality of sub-pixel regions 101 arranged in an array along a first direction X and a second direction Y; the first direction X intersects the second direction Y;
[0083] A plurality of light emitting devices 2 are located on one side of the substrate 1; the light emitting devices 2 correspond to the sub-pixel areas 101 one by one;
[0084] The first pixel definition layer 3 is located on the side of the light emitting device 2 away from the substrate 1 and includes first opening areas 301 corresponding to the sub-pixel areas 101;
[0085] Multiple quantum dot layers 4 are located on the side of the light-emitting device 2 away from the substrate 1 and are located in at least part of the first opening area 301; the quantum dot layer 4 includes: a first sublayer 4-1, and a second sublayer 4-2 located on the side of the first sublayer 4-1 away from the substrate 1; the first sublayer 4-1 includes: a first substrate 401 and first quantum dots 402; the second sublayer 4-2 includes: a second substrate 403, and second quantum dots 404; the wavelength range of light emitted from the first sublayer 4-1 does not completely overlap with the wavelength range of light emitted from the second sublayer 4-2.
[0086] It should be noted that in the display panel provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure, the quantum dot layer is used to absorb light emitted by the light-emitting device to radiate light of a desired color. Specifically, the color of the light radiated by the quantum dot layer is the same as the color of the sub-pixel area corresponding to the quantum dot layer.
[0087] In the display panel provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure, the quantum dot layer includes a first sublayer and a second sublayer, both of which include quantum dots. Thus, light emitted by the light-emitting device but not absorbed by the quantum dots in the first sublayer can be absorbed by the second quantum dots in the second sublayer upon reaching the second sublayer, and converted into light corresponding to the subpixel color. This can improve the absorptivity and brightness conversion efficiency of the light emitted by the light-emitting device. Furthermore, because the wavelength range of the light emitted by the first sublayer does not completely overlap with the wavelength range of the light emitted by the second sublayer, the spectral range of the light emitted by the subpixel can be adjusted, thereby improving color purity.
[0088] It should be noted that the first quantum dots are dispersed in the first substrate, and the second quantum dots are dispersed in the second substrate.
[0089] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 2 to FIG. 4 , the plurality of sub-pixel regions 101 include: a plurality of red sub-pixel regions R, a plurality of blue sub-pixel regions B, and a plurality of green sub-pixel regions G;
[0090] The light emitting device 2 is a blue light emitting device;
[0091] The multiple quantum dot layers 4 include a red quantum dot layer r located in the first opening area 301 corresponding to the red sub-pixel area R, and a green quantum dot layer g located in the first opening area 301 corresponding to the green sub-pixel area G.
[0092] Specifically, as shown in Figures 2 to 4, a red quantum dot layer r is disposed within the first opening region 5 corresponding to the red sub-pixel region R. This layer absorbs blue light and radiates red light. A green quantum dot layer g is disposed within the first opening region 5 corresponding to the green sub-pixel region G. This layer absorbs blue light and radiates green light. Because the light-emitting device is a blue light-emitting device, the blue sub-pixel region B does not need a quantum dot layer to enable the display panel to achieve full-color display.
[0093] In a specific implementation, the first quantum dots and the second quantum dots included in the red light quantum dot layer are both red light quantum dots that absorb blue light and radiate red light, and the first quantum dots and the second quantum dots included in the green light quantum dot layer are both green light quantum dots that absorb blue light and radiate red light.
[0094] In a specific implementation, the material of the quantum dot layer includes a core-shell quantum dot structure; the core material in the core-shell quantum dot structure can be, for example, cadmium selenide (CdSe) or indium phosphide (InP), and the shell material in the core-shell quantum dot structure can be, for example, zinc sulfide (ZnS).
[0095] In a specific implementation, in each quantum dot layer, the materials of the first quantum dots and the second quantum dots may be the same or different. The wavelength range of the light emitted by the first sublayer and the wavelength range of the light emitted by the second sublayer may be adjusted by adjusting the size, such as the diameter, of the first quantum dots and the second quantum dots to achieve a non-complete overlap between the wavelength range. The main wavelength of the light emitted by the first sublayer is also different from the main wavelength of the light emitted by the second sublayer. In a specific implementation, the wavelength range of the light emitted by the first sublayer and the second sublayer may be set according to actual needs. For example, the minimum value of the wavelength range of the light emitted by the first sublayer is smaller than the minimum value of the wavelength range of the light emitted by the second sublayer, and the maximum value of the wavelength range of the light emitted by the first sublayer is smaller than the maximum value of the wavelength range of the light emitted by the second sublayer.
[0096] In some embodiments, as shown in Figures 2 to 4, the quantum dot layer further includes first scattering particles 405, and the first sublayer 4-1 does not include the first scattering particles 405. The film layer including the first scattering particles 405 is located on the side of the first sublayer 4-1 away from the base substrate 1.
[0097] In the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure, the quantum dot layer further includes first scattering particles, thereby scattering light and improving the light output uniformity of the quantum dot layer.
[0098] It should be noted that although the quantum dot layer in the related art also includes scattering particles, when the scattering particles are mixed with the quantum dots to form the quantum dot layer, some of the light radiated by the quantum dots may be directly emitted without being scattered by the scattering particles, or may not be evenly scattered by the scattering particles, affecting the uniformity of the light output of the quantum dot layer. This will cause the display panel to have a large percentage of brightness attenuation at a wide viewing angle, that is, affecting the viewing angle brightness uniformity of the display product. The relationship curve between the viewing angle and brightness attenuation of the light-emitting device in the related art and the relationship curve between the viewing angle and brightness attenuation of the quantum dot layer in which the scattering particles and quantum dots are mixed are shown in Figure 5. The absorption rate Ab, brightness conversion efficiency and brightness attenuation L-decay of the quantum dot layer for 460 nanometers (nm) blue light are shown in Table 1. The blue light absorption rate and brightness conversion efficiency of this arrangement of the quantum dot layer are not high. Although the viewing angle brightness attenuation is improved compared to the case where only the light-emitting device is provided without the quantum dot layer, the brightness loss at a wide viewing angle, such as 60°, is still large, affecting the brightness uniformity of the display panel.
[0099] Table 1
[0100] In the display panel provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure, the first quantum dot layer does not include first scattering particles. Specifically, the first sublayer containing the first quantum dots is independently provided from the film layer containing the first scattering particles, and the film layer containing the first scattering particles is located on the side of the first sublayer facing away from the substrate. This allows light emitted from the first quantum dot layer to be scattered and evenly dispersed by the first scattering particles. Compared to the related art where the quantum dots and scattering particles are completely mixed, this improves the uniformity of light emitted from the quantum dot layer, avoids excessive brightness attenuation at wide viewing angles, and thereby improves the uniformity of the display panel's viewing angle brightness.
[0101] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG2 , the second sub-layer 4 - 2 further includes first scattering particles 405 , that is, the first scattering particles and the second quantum dots are mixed in the second substrate.
[0102] In some embodiments, the first scattering particles included in the quantum dot layer may be at least one of the following: titanium oxide (TiO2), zirconium oxide (ZrO2), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), indium oxide (In2O3), zinc oxide (ZnO), and tin oxide (SnO2).
[0103] In the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure, the first quantum dot layer does not include the first scattering particles, and the second sublayer includes the first scattering particles. The two are independently arranged, and the second sublayer is located on the side of the first sublayer away from the base substrate. In this way, the light emitted by the first quantum dot layer can be scattered and evenly scattered by the first scattering particles of the second sublayer. Compared with the situation in which the quantum dots and the scattering particles are completely mixed in the related art, the light emission uniformity of the quantum dot layer can be improved, and the brightness attenuation at a large viewing angle can be avoided, thereby improving the viewing angle brightness uniformity of the display panel. In addition, the first scattering particles and the second quantum dots are mixed with the second substrate to form the second sublayer, which can achieve the improvement of the absorption rate of the light emitted by the light-emitting device and the brightness conversion efficiency, and improve the light emission uniformity while avoiding excessive increase in the production process of the quantum dot layer.
[0104] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 2 , in a direction perpendicular to the base substrate 1 , a thickness h1 of the first sub-layer 4 - 1 is less than or equal to a thickness h2 of the second sub-layer 4 - 2 .
[0105] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG2 , in a direction perpendicular to the base substrate 1 , the ratio of the thickness h1-r of the first sublayer 4-1 included in the red light quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h4 of the red light quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 10 and less than or equal to 1 / 2, and the ratio of the thickness h2-r of the second sublayer 4-2 included in the red light quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h4 of the red light quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 2 and less than or equal to 9 / 10.
[0106] In some embodiments, the thickness h4 of the red quantum dot layer is greater than or equal to 10 micrometers and less than or equal to 15 micrometers.
[0107] In some embodiments, in the red light quantum dot layer, the mass percentage of the first quantum dots in the first sublayer is greater than or equal to the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer.
[0108] Furthermore, the mass percentage of the first quantum dots in the first sublayer can be set to be greater than the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer. It should be noted that the mass percentages of the quantum dots and the first scattering particles affect the viscosity of the film layer. Since the first sublayer only includes the first substrate and the first quantum dots, a higher mass percentage of the first quantum dots can ensure that the viscosity of the first sublayer meets the requirements and prevent the first sublayer from peeling or falling off. Since the second sublayer also includes the first scattering particles in addition to the second quantum dots, reducing the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer compared to the first sublayer can also ensure that the viscosity of the second sublayer meets the requirements.
[0109] In some embodiments, in the red light quantum dot layer, the mass percentage of the first quantum dots in the first sublayer is greater than or equal to 20% and less than or equal to 40%, the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer is greater than or equal to 5% and less than or equal to 20%, and the mass percentage of the first scattering particles in the second sublayer is greater than or equal to 2% and less than or equal to 8%.
[0110] Specifically, in the red light quantum dot layer, the spectra of the first sublayer and the second sublayer are shown in Figure 6. After the first quantum dot of the first sublayer is excited, the main wavelength of the red light converted is 630 nanometers (nm), and the spectral wavelength range is 600-670nm. After the second quantum dot of the second sublayer is excited, the main wavelength of the red light converted is 650nm, and the spectral wavelength range is 620-690nm. The display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure as shown in Figure 2, the absorption rate Ab of the red light quantum dot layer for 460 nanometers (nm) blue light, the brightness conversion efficiency and the brightness attenuation L-decay at 60° viewing angle are shown in Table 2. Compared with the data in Table 1, the absorption rate Ab and brightness conversion efficiency of the red light quantum dot layer shown in Figure 2 of the present disclosure for blue light are improved, and the brightness attenuation at a large viewing angle, such as 60°, is reduced. In addition, the relationship curve between the viewing angle and the brightness attenuation of the red light quantum dot layer of the present disclosure and the relationship curve between the viewing angle and the brightness attenuation of the red light quantum dot layer of the related art are shown in Figure 7. It can be seen that compared with the related art, the brightness attenuation of the red light quantum dot layer of the present disclosure from 0 to 60° is reduced, which can improve the brightness uniformity at a viewing angle.

[0112] In some embodiments, in a direction perpendicular to the substrate 1, the ratio of the thickness h1-g of the first sublayer 4-1 included in the green quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 10 and less than or equal to 1 / 3, and the ratio of the thickness h2-g of the second sublayer 4-2 included in the green quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 3 and less than or equal to 9 / 10.
[0113] In some embodiments, the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer is greater than or equal to 10 microns and less than or equal to 15 microns. For example, as shown in FIG2 , the thickness h4 of the red quantum dot layer is equal to the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer.
[0114] In some embodiments, in the green light quantum dot layer, the mass percentage of the first quantum dots in the first sublayer is greater than or equal to 30% and less than or equal to 55%, the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer is greater than or equal to 10% and less than or equal to 40%, and the mass percentage of the first scattering particles in the second sublayer is greater than or equal to 4% and less than or equal to 8%; in the green light quantum dot layer, the spectra of the first sublayer and the second sublayer are shown in Figure 8. After the first quantum dots in the first sublayer are excited, the main wavelength of green light converted is 540 nanometers (nm), and the spectral wavelength range is 510~570nm. After the second quantum dots in the second sublayer are excited, the main wavelength of green light converted is 560nm, and the spectral wavelength range is 530~590nm. The display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure as shown in Figure 2, the absorption rate Ab of the green light quantum dot layer for 460 nanometers (nm) blue light, the brightness conversion efficiency and the brightness attenuation L-decay at 60° viewing angle are shown in Table 3. Compared with the data in Table 1, the absorption rate Ab and brightness conversion efficiency of the green light quantum dot layer shown in Figure 2 of the present disclosure for blue light are improved, and the brightness attenuation at a large viewing angle, such as 60°, is reduced. In addition, the relationship curve between the viewing angle and the brightness attenuation of the green light quantum dot layer of the present disclosure and the relationship curve between the viewing angle and the brightness attenuation of the green light quantum dot layer of the related art are shown in Figure 9. It can be seen that compared with the related art, the brightness attenuation of the red light quantum dot layer of the present disclosure from 0 to 60° is reduced, which can improve the brightness uniformity at a viewing angle.
[0115] Table 3
[0116] It should be noted that, in a specific implementation, in the green quantum dot layer, the mass percentage of the first quantum dots in the first sublayer may be greater than the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer.
[0117] Alternatively, in some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 3 or FIG. 4 , the quantum dot layer 4 further includes: a third sublayer 4 - 3 located on the side of the first sublayer 4 - 1 facing away from the substrate 1 ; the third sublayer 4 - 3 includes a third base material 406 and first scattering particles 405 .
[0118] That is, in the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure, in the quantum dot layer, the film layer containing the first quantum dots, the film layer containing the second quantum dots, and the film layer containing the first scattering particles are all independently provided.
[0119] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 3 , the second sub-layer 4 - 2 is located between the first sub-layer 4 - 1 and the third sub-layer 4 - 3 .
[0120] Therefore, the blue light that is not absorbed by the first sub-layer can be absorbed by the second sub-layer and converted into light corresponding to the sub-pixel color, and then can be scattered by the first scattering particles through the third sub-layer and evenly dispersed, thereby improving the absorption rate of light emitted by the light-emitting device and the brightness conversion efficiency while improving the uniformity of light output.
[0121] Alternatively, in some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 3 , the third sub-layer 4 - 3 is located between the first sub-layer 4 - 1 and the second sub-layer 4 - 2 .
[0122] As a result, light reaching the third sublayer can be scattered and evenly dispersed by the first scattering particles, improving light uniformity. The second sublayer, including the second quantum dots, is located on the side of the third sublayer facing away from the first sublayer. This allows unabsorbed blue light to be absorbed by the second sublayer and converted into light corresponding to the subpixel color. This improves the light absorption rate and brightness conversion efficiency of the light-emitting device while also improving light uniformity.
[0123] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 3 or Figure 4, in the direction perpendicular to the substrate 1, the thickness h1 of the first sublayer 4-1 is less than or equal to the thickness h6 of the third sublayer 4-3, and the thickness h2 of the second sublayer 4-2 is less than or equal to the thickness h6 of the third sublayer 4-3.
[0124] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 3 or Figure 4, in the direction perpendicular to the base substrate 1, the ratio of the thickness h1-r of the first sublayer 4-1 included in the red light quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h4 of the red light quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 10 and less than or equal to 1 / 3, the ratio of the thickness h6-r of the third sublayer 4-3 included in the red light quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h4 of the red light quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 3 and less than or equal to 4 / 5, and the ratio of the thickness h2-r of the second sublayer 4-2 included in the red light quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h4 of the red light quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 10 and less than or equal to 1 / 3.
[0125] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 3 or Figure 4, in the direction perpendicular to the substrate 1, the ratio of the thickness h1-g of the first sublayer 4-1 included in the green quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 5 and less than or equal to 1 / 3, the ratio of the thickness h6-g of the third sublayer 4-3 included in the green quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 3 and less than or equal to 2 / 5, and the ratio of the thickness h2-g of the second sublayer 4-2 included in the green quantum dot layer 4 to the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer 4 is greater than or equal to 1 / 3 and less than or equal to 2 / 5.
[0126] In some embodiments, the thickness h4 of the red quantum dot layer and the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer are greater than or equal to 10 microns and less than or equal to 15 microns. For example, as shown in FIG3 or FIG4 , the thickness h4 of the red quantum dot layer is equal to the thickness h5 of the green quantum dot layer.
[0127] In some embodiments, in the red light quantum dot layer, the mass percentage of the first quantum dots in the first sublayer is greater than or equal to 20% and less than or equal to 40%, the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer is greater than or equal to 5% and less than or equal to 20%, and the mass percentage of the first scattering particles in the third sublayer is greater than or equal to 2% and less than or equal to 8%;
[0128] In the green light quantum dot layer, the mass percentage of the first quantum dots in the first sublayer is greater than or equal to 30% and less than or equal to 55%, the mass percentage of the second quantum dots in the second sublayer is greater than or equal to 10% and less than or equal to 40%, and the mass percentage of the first scattering particles in the third sublayer is greater than or equal to 4% and less than or equal to 10%.
[0129] Specifically, for the red light quantum dot layer shown in Figure 3, the spectra of the first sublayer and the second sublayer are shown in Figure 6. The display panel shown in FIG3 provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure has a red quantum dot layer with respect to 460 nanometer (nm) blue light, absorptivity Ab, brightness conversion efficiency, and brightness decay L-decay at a 60° viewing angle, as shown in Table 4. Furthermore, a curve showing the relationship between viewing angle and brightness decay for the red quantum dot layer of the present disclosure and a curve showing the relationship between viewing angle and brightness decay for the red quantum dot layer of the related art are shown in FIG10. It can be seen that compared with the related art, the brightness decay of the red quantum dot layer of the present disclosure is reduced from 0° to 60°, thereby improving brightness uniformity across viewing angles. Furthermore, compared with Table 2, the blue light absorptivity and brightness conversion efficiency are further improved, and the brightness decay at 60° is further reduced.
[0130] Table 4
[0131] Specifically, for the green quantum dot layer shown in Figure 3, the spectra of the first sublayer and the second sublayer are shown in Figure 8. After the first quantum dot of the first sublayer is excited, the main wavelength of the green light converted is 540 nanometers (nm), and the spectral wavelength range is 510 to 570 nm. After the second quantum dot of the second sublayer is excited, the main wavelength of the green light converted is 560 nm, and the spectral wavelength range is 530 to 590 nm. The display panel shown in FIG3 provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure has a green quantum dot layer with respect to 460 nanometer (nm) blue light, absorptivity Ab, brightness conversion efficiency, and brightness decay L-decay at a 60° viewing angle, as shown in Table 5. Furthermore, a curve showing the relationship between viewing angle and brightness decay for the green quantum dot layer of the present disclosure and a curve showing the relationship between viewing angle and brightness decay for the green quantum dot layer of the related art are shown in FIG11. It can be seen that compared with the related art, the brightness decay of the red quantum dot layer of the present disclosure is reduced from 0° to 60°, thereby improving brightness uniformity across viewing angles. Furthermore, compared with Table 3, the blue light absorptivity and brightness conversion efficiency are further improved, and the brightness decay at 60° is further reduced.
[0132] Table 5
[0133] Specifically, for the red light quantum dot layer shown in Figure 4, the spectra of the first sublayer and the second sublayer are shown in Figure 6. The main wavelength of red light converted by the first quantum dot of the first sublayer after being excited is 630 nanometers (nm), and the spectral wavelength range is 600-670nm. The main wavelength of red light converted by the second quantum dot of the second sublayer after being excited is 650nm, and the spectral wavelength range is 620-690nm. The display panel shown in FIG4 provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure has a red quantum dot layer with respect to 460 nanometer (nm) blue light, absorptivity Ab, brightness conversion efficiency, and brightness decay L-decay at a 60° viewing angle, as shown in Table VI. Compared with the data in Table 1, the red quantum dot layer shown in FIG4 of the present disclosure has improved blue light absorptivity and brightness conversion efficiency, and the brightness decay at a wide viewing angle, such as 60°, is reduced. Furthermore, a curve showing the relationship between viewing angle and brightness decay for the red quantum dot layer of the present disclosure and a curve showing the relationship between viewing angle and brightness decay for the red quantum dot layer of the related art are shown in FIG12. Compared with Table 4, the brightness decay at 60° is further reduced.
[0134] Table 6
[0135] Specifically, for the green quantum dot layer shown in Figure 4, the spectra of the first sublayer and the second sublayer are shown in Figure 8. The display panel shown in FIG4 provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure has a green quantum dot layer with respect to 460 nanometer (nm) blue light, absorptivity Ab, brightness conversion efficiency, and brightness decay L-decay at a 60° viewing angle, as shown in Table 7. Furthermore, the relationship curves between viewing angle and brightness decay for the green quantum dot layer of the present disclosure and the relationship curves between viewing angle and brightness decay for the green quantum dot layer of the related art are shown in FIG13. It can be seen that compared with the related art, the brightness decay of the red quantum dot layer of the present disclosure is reduced from 0° to 60°, which can improve the brightness uniformity across viewing angles. Furthermore, compared with Table 3, the blue light absorptivity and brightness conversion efficiency are further improved, and the brightness decay at 60° is further reduced. Compared with Table 5, the brightness decay at 60° is further reduced.
[0136] Table 7
[0137] In some embodiments, as shown in Figures 2 to 4 and 14 to 16 , the display panel further includes a scattering layer 8 within the first opening region 301 corresponding to the blue sub-pixel region B. The scattering layer 8 includes second scattering particles. This allows light emitted by the light-emitting device to be scattered upon reaching the scattering layer, thereby improving light uniformity.
[0138] That is, the first opening area where the quantum dot layer is not provided is filled with a scattering layer. In a specific implementation, the scattering layer is a light-transmitting film layer.
[0139] It should be noted that, as shown in Figures 2 to 4 , the scattering layer 8 within the first opening region 301 corresponding to the blue sub-pixel region B is a single layer, and the thickness of the scattering layer 8 is relatively thick. During the production of the scattering layer, scattering particles may agglomerate, affecting the uniformity of the distribution of the scattering particles and, in turn, the uniformity of the scattering layer in scattering light emitted by the light-emitting device.
[0140] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 14 to FIG. 16 , the scattering layer 8 includes: a plurality of stacked scattering sub-layers 801 ; the scattering sub-layers 801 include: a third substrate 406 and second scattering particles 8011 ; and the plurality of scattering sub-layers 801 are formed in different process steps.
[0141] That is, in the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure, the scattering layer is formed by multiple manufacturing steps. Since each scattering sub-layer is thinner than the entire scattering layer, the problem of the second scattering particles agglomerating and affecting their distribution uniformity due to the thick film layer can be avoided. This can further improve the uniformity of light output and thus improve the uniformity of brightness under different viewing angles.
[0142] Specifically, the relationship curve between the viewing angle and the brightness attenuation of a single-layer scattering layer and the relationship curve between the viewing angle and the brightness attenuation of a scattering layer including multiple scattering sublayers are shown in FIG17 . It can be concluded that, compared with the implementation of a single-layer scattering layer, the brightness attenuation from 0° to 60° is reduced in the case where the scattering layer includes multiple scattering sublayers, which can improve the brightness uniformity of the viewing angle.
[0143] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 14 to FIG. 16 , the multilayer scattering sublayer 801 includes: a first scattering sublayer 801 - 1801 and a second scattering sublayer 801 - 2801 located on a side of the first scattering sublayer 801 - 1801 facing away from the substrate 1 ;
[0144] In a direction perpendicular to the base substrate 1 , a thickness h7 of the first scattering sub-layer 801 - 1 801 is less than or equal to a thickness h8 of the second scattering sub-layer 801 - 2 801 .
[0145] In some embodiments, as shown in Figures 14 to 16, in a direction perpendicular to the base substrate 1, the ratio of the thickness h7 of the first scattering sublayer 801-1801 to the thickness h9 of the scattering layer 8 is greater than or equal to 1 / 3 and less than or equal to 1 / 2, and the ratio of the thickness h8 of the second scattering sublayer 801-2801 to the thickness h9 of the scattering layer 8 is greater than or equal to 1 / 2 and less than or equal to 2 / 3.
[0146] In a specific implementation, the thickness h9 of the scattering layer is equal to the thickness of the quantum dot layer, and the thickness h9 of the scattering layer is greater than or equal to 10 micrometers and less than or equal to 15 micrometers.
[0147] In some embodiments, the mass percentage of the second scattering particles in the first scattering sublayer is greater than or equal to 4% and less than or equal to 10%;
[0148] The mass percentage of the second scattering particles in the first scattering sub-layer is greater than or equal to 2% and less than or equal to 6%.
[0149] In some embodiments, the second scattering particles included in the scattering may be at least one of the following: titanium oxide (TiO2), zirconium oxide (ZrO2), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), indium oxide (In2O3), zinc oxide (ZnO) or tin oxide (SnO2).
[0150] In a specific implementation, the first filling structure and the first pixel definition layer may both comprise a resin material. The first pixel definition layer may comprise a light-shielding resin material, and the first, second, and third substrates may comprise a light-transmitting resin material. In a specific implementation, the first, second, and third substrates may be made of the same material.
[0151] In some embodiments, the light-emitting device is an electroluminescent device. The electroluminescent device is, for example, an organic light-emitting diode device. Alternatively, the electroluminescent device may be other light-emitting devices such as Micro LEDs and Mini LEDs.
[0152] Next, an OLED light-emitting device is used as an example for explanation.
[0153] As shown in Figures 2 to 4 and Figures 14 to 16, the display panel further includes: a driving circuit layer 5 located between the base substrate 1 and the light-emitting device 3, a second pixel definition layer 6 located between the driving circuit layer 5 and the first pixel definition layer 3, and an encapsulation layer 7 between the light-emitting device 3 and the first pixel definition layer 3. The second pixel definition layer 6 includes a second opening area 601 corresponding one-to-one to the sub-pixel area 101; the light-emitting device 3 includes an anode 201, a light-emitting functional layer 202, and a cathode 203 stacked in sequence in the second opening area 601, wherein the anode 201 is located between the second pixel definition layer 6 and the driving circuit layer 5, the second pixel definition layer 6 covers the edge of the anode 201, and the cathodes 203 corresponding to the multiple sub-pixel areas 101 are integrally connected.
[0154] In some embodiments, the display panel may further include a light extraction layer between the cathode and the encapsulation layer.
[0155] In a specific implementation, the drive circuit layer includes a plurality of pixel drive circuits arranged in an array; the pixel drive circuit is used to drive the light-emitting device to emit light; as shown in FIG18 , the pixel drive circuit includes a thin-film transistor (TFT) and a storage capacitor (not shown); the thin-film transistor (TFT) includes: an active layer 501, a gate G, a source S, and a drain D; FIG18 illustrates the thin-film transistor (TFT) as a top-gate structure; of course, the thin-film transistor (TFT) can also be a bottom-gate or other structure. As shown in FIG18 , the display substrate also includes: a buffer layer 9 located between the base substrate 1 and the active layer 501; the drive circuit layer 5 also includes: a first gate insulating layer 502 located between the active layer 501 and the gate G, an interlayer insulating layer 503 located between the first gate insulating layer 502 and the source S and drain D, and a planarization layer 504 located between the light-emitting device 3 and the source S and drain D. The anode 201 is connected to the drain D via a via extending through the planarization layer 504.
[0156] In a specific implementation, the light-emitting functional layer includes an organic light-emitting layer, and may further include an electron injection layer, an electron transport layer, a hole transport layer, a hole injection layer, and the like.
[0157] In a specific implementation, when all the light-emitting devices are blue light-emitting devices, the organic light-emitting layers corresponding to each sub-pixel region emit blue light, but the light-emitting spectra of the organic light-emitting layers corresponding to each sub-pixel region may be the same or different.
[0158] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 2 to FIG. 4 and FIG. 14 to FIG. 16 , the encapsulation layer 7 includes: a first inorganic encapsulation film 701 , an organic encapsulation film 702 , and a second inorganic encapsulation film 703 that are stacked.
[0159] A method for manufacturing a display panel provided by an embodiment of the present disclosure, as shown in FIG19 , includes:
[0160] S101, providing a base substrate; the base substrate includes a plurality of sub-pixel regions arrayed along a first direction and a second direction; the first direction intersects the second direction;
[0161] S102, forming a plurality of light-emitting devices on one side of the substrate; the light-emitting devices correspond to the sub-pixel areas one by one;
[0162] S103, forming a pattern of a first pixel definition layer on a side of the light emitting device facing away from the substrate; the first pixel definition layer includes first opening areas corresponding to the sub-pixel areas one by one;
[0163] S104. Form a quantum dot layer in at least a portion of the first opening area; the quantum dot layer includes: a first sublayer, and a second sublayer located on the side of the first sublayer away from the substrate; the first sublayer includes: a first substrate and first quantum dots; the second sublayer includes: a second substrate and second quantum dots; the wavelength range of light emitted from the first sublayer does not completely overlap with the wavelength range of light emitted from the second sublayer.
[0164] In the method for preparing a display panel provided by an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first quantum dot layer first formed in the quantum dot layer does not include the first scattering particles, and the second sublayer includes the first scattering particles. In addition, the first scattering particles and the second quantum dots are mixed with the second substrate to form the second sublayer, which can avoid excessively increasing the production process of the quantum dot layer while achieving the improvement of the absorption rate of the light emitted by the light-emitting device and the brightness conversion efficiency, and improving the light emission uniformity.
[0165] In some embodiments, forming a quantum dot layer specifically includes:

[0176] In some embodiments, in the step of forming the first sublayer, the first substrate and the first quantum dot material are evenly mixed to obtain ink for the first sublayer, and then the ink for the first sublayer is printed in the first opening area by an inkjet printing process to form the first sublayer.
[0177] In some embodiments, in the step of forming the third sublayer, the third substrate and the first scattering particles are evenly mixed to obtain ink for the third sublayer, and then the ink for the third sublayer is printed on the first sublayer by an inkjet printing process to form the third sublayer.

[0183] In a specific implementation, the first sub-layer, the second sub-layer, and the third sub-layer may be formed by an inkjet printing process.
[0184] In some embodiments, in the step of forming the first sublayer, the first substrate and the first quantum dot material are evenly mixed to obtain ink for the first sublayer, and then the ink for the first sublayer is printed in the first opening area by an inkjet printing process to form the first sublayer.
[0185] In some embodiments, in the step of forming the second sublayer, the second substrate, the first scattering particles, and the second quantum dot material are evenly mixed to obtain the ink for the second sublayer, and then the ink for the second sublayer is printed on the first sublayer through an inkjet printing process to form the second sublayer.

[0189] That is, in the method for manufacturing a display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure, the scattering layer is formed by manufacturing the scattering layer in multiple steps. Since each scattering sub-layer is thinner than the entire scattering layer, this can avoid the problem of the second scattering particles agglomerating and affecting their distribution uniformity due to the thick film layer, and can further improve the uniformity of light output, thereby improving the uniformity of brightness under different viewing angles.
