Abstract
Description
Composition containing an organosilicon compound
[0001] The present invention relates to a composition containing an organosilicon compound, and more specifically to a composition in which a ureido group-containing organosilicon compound and an amino group-containing organosilicon compound are dissolved in a solvent containing alcohol and water.
[0002] Ureido group-containing organosilicon compounds, such as 3-ureidopropyltriethoxysilane, have been widely used as surface treatment agents for inorganic materials and as adhesion promoters for compositions. Known methods for producing these ureido group-containing organosilicon compounds include reacting an amino group-containing organosilicon compound with urea (see Patent Documents 1 to 5). The ureido group-containing organosilicon compounds obtained by this method have the advantage of being of high quality, with a low content of carbamate ester compounds as impurities and no metal catalysts.
[0003] On the other hand, ureido group-containing organosilicon compounds have insufficient water solubility, and although products in which 3-ureidopropyltriethoxysilane is diluted with alcohol such as methanol are widely used, there is a need for improved water solubility.
