Abstract
Description
Device for monitoring biosignals and electrode assembly included therein
[0001] The present invention relates to a device for monitoring biological signals and an electrode assembly included therein.
[0002] Recent rapid advancements in science and technology have improved the quality of life for all of humanity, and significant changes are occurring in the healthcare environment. In particular, wearable monitoring devices that allow electrocardiogram (ECG) signals to be monitored during daily life without the need for a hospital visit have become widely available to the public.
[0003] Conventional wearable monitoring devices typically use ready-made Ag / AgCl disposable electrodes or are configured as an integrated electrode type in which the electrodes are mechanically incorporated into a body with built-in circuitry for electrocardiogram signal monitoring.
[0004] Here, conventional wearable monitoring devices present two major challenges. First, conventional disposable Ag / AgCl electrodes are not recommended for use for more than a day due to their nature, and their lack of waterproofing may render biosignal monitoring impossible during electrode replacement for extended use. Second, if the main body and electrodes are integrated, the main body can only be used for one-time use.
[0005] Accordingly, the inventor(s) of the present invention propose a technology that ensures a high level of waterproofing or dustproofing performance while making the bracket easily detachable by using a device including a bracket that is detachably connected to a main body housing at least in part, and an electrode assembly included in the device.
[0006] The purpose of the present invention is to solve all of the problems of the above-mentioned prior art.
[0007] In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide a device including a main body housing, a bracket at least a portion of which is detachably coupled to the main body housing, and an electrode portion disposed on a lower surface of the bracket and including at least one electrode.
[0008] In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide an electrode assembly including a bracket in which at least a portion is detachably connected to a main body housing, and an electrode portion disposed on a lower surface of the bracket and including at least one electrode.
[0009] In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide a device and an electrode assembly included therein that can secure a high level of waterproof or dustproof performance.
[0010] In addition, another object of the present invention is to minimize the time during which monitoring of biosignals is interrupted (e.g., the time required to replace the electrode part) by making it easy to remove the electrode part.
[0011] A representative configuration of the present invention to achieve the above purpose is as follows.
[0012] According to one aspect of the present invention, a device for monitoring a biological signal is provided, comprising a main body housing, a bracket at least a portion of which is detachably coupled to the main body housing, and an electrode portion disposed on a lower surface of the bracket and including at least one electrode.
[0013] According to another aspect of the present invention, an electrode assembly is provided for a device for monitoring a biological signal, the electrode assembly comprising a bracket, at least a portion of which is detachably coupled to a main body housing, and an electrode portion disposed on a lower surface of the bracket and including at least one electrode.
[0014] In addition, other devices and electrode assemblies included in the devices according to the technical idea of the present invention are further provided.
[0015] According to the present invention, a device can be provided that includes a main body housing, a bracket in which at least a portion of the main body housing is detachably connected, and an electrode portion disposed on a lower surface of the bracket and including at least one electrode.
[0016] In addition, according to the present invention, an electrode assembly can be provided, including a bracket in which at least a portion is detachably connected to a main body housing, and an electrode portion disposed on a lower surface of the bracket and including at least one electrode.
[0017] In addition, according to the present invention, a device and an electrode assembly included therein can be provided that can secure a high level of waterproof or dustproof performance.

[0046] Device configuration
[0047] Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a device (10) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0048] Referring to FIG. 1, a device (10) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an electrode assembly and a main body housing (100). Here, the electrode assembly according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a bracket (200), an electrode portion (300), and an attachment portion (400). Hereinafter, the main body housing (100) will be described, and detailed components of the electrode assembly will be described.
[0049] First, referring to FIG. 1, a main body housing (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a component for managing a biosignal measured from an electrode formed in an electrode portion (300). According to one embodiment of the present invention, a first connecting member (not shown) may be formed on one side of the main body housing (100) (e.g., a lower surface of the main body housing (100), and this first connecting member may be mounted on a PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) disposed inside the main body housing (100).
[0050] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a second connecting member may be formed on the upper surface of the electrode unit (300) to be described later, and the first connecting member may receive a biosignal obtained from the electrode unit (300) through the second connecting member. Meanwhile, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in addition to the second connecting member, a PCBA disposed inside the main body housing (100) may further include a memory that performs a function of recording a biosignal, a processor that performs a function of processing a biosignal (for example, estimating arrhythmia from an electrocardiogram signal when the biosignal is an electrocardiogram signal), a communication module that performs a function of transmitting a biosignal to the outside (wired or wireless transmission), and the like.
[0051] FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of a situation in which a main body housing (100) and a bracket (200) are combined according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0052] Meanwhile, a first fixing member (e.g., a protrusion or a groove) may be formed on one side of the main body housing (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention, and this fixing member may form a hooking structure (or a snap-fit structure) with a second fixing member formed on the bracket (200) so that when the main body housing (100) is coupled to the bracket (200), the main body housing (100) can be detachably coupled to the bracket (200).
[0053] Referring to FIG. 2, for example, the first fixing member of the main body housing (100) and the second fixing member of the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be combined by forming a hooking structure (202).
[0054] According to one embodiment of the present invention, since the main body housing (100) is detachably coupled to the bracket (200), when an unintended decrease in the adhesive strength of the attachment surface occurs during bio-signal monitoring of the device (10), the main body housing (100) can be separated from the bracket (200) and the electrode assembly can be easily replaced with another electrode assembly. This allows bio-signal measurement to continue for a period of time when monitoring is required while preserving bio-signal data stored in the memory within the main body housing (100).
[0055] Next, the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be detachably coupled to the main body housing (100).
[0056] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a main body housing and a bracket according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0057] Referring to FIG. 3, at least one groove (201) may be formed on the lower surface of the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention. Here, referring to FIG. 3, the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to be at least partially bent along at least one groove (201) when at least a portion of the bracket (200) is pressed for removal. Meanwhile, although not illustrated, the bracket (200) according to the present invention is formed of a bendable material, so that it can be at least partially bent even when a groove is not formed. In other words, the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention can achieve the purpose of the present invention as long as at least a portion thereof can be detachably coupled to the main body housing (100), and it should be understood that a groove is not necessarily required to be formed.
[0058] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, at least one groove (201) may be formed on the lower surface of the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention. Here, referring to FIG. 3, a second fixing member (e.g., a protrusion or a groove) may be further formed on one side of the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0059] For example, referring to FIG. 2, the main body housing (100) and the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be fixed by a fixing member.
[0060] For another example, referring to FIG. 2, a first fixing member and a second fixing member may be formed in the main body housing (100) and the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention, respectively, and the first fixing member and the second fixing member may be coupled with a hooking structure (202) (or a snap-fit structure). Meanwhile, referring to FIG. 2, although the first fixing member is illustrated as being formed as a groove and the second fixing member as being formed as a protrusion, the first fixing member may be formed as a protrusion and the second fixing member may be formed as a groove, and various other coupling structures may be included as the coupling structure of the main body housing (100) and the bracket (200).
[0061] In addition, referring to FIG. 1, the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be fixedly coupled to an electrode portion (300) disposed on a lower surface of the bracket (200). Therefore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when at least a portion of the bracket (200) is pressed for removal, the electrode assembly can be removed from the main body housing (100) as the bracket (200) is separated from the main body housing (100).
[0062] Meanwhile, referring to FIG. 2, a first hole (203) may be further formed on the lower surface of the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the second connecting member formed on the upper portion of the electrode portion (300) and the first connecting member of the main body housing (100) may be electrically connected through the first hole (203).
[0063] FIG. 4 is a drawing exemplarily showing a bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0064] Referring to FIG. 4, a bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may have a second fixing member formed on one side for fixing a main body housing (100). For example, the second fixing member according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed along the inner periphery of the bracket (200), and the second fixing member and the first fixing member formed along the outer periphery of the main body housing (100) may form a hooking structure (or snap-fit structure). According to one embodiment of the present invention, the main body housing (100) may be detachably received (or coupled) to the bracket (200) by this hooking structure.
[0065] In addition, referring to FIG. 4, a grip portion (204) may be formed on one side of a bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the grip portion (204) is pressed for removal of the electrode assembly, at least a portion of the bracket (200) may be partially bent, and the electrode assembly and the main body housing (100) may be separated.
[0066] Next, the electrode portion (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be placed on the lower surface of the bracket (200) and may include at least one electrode (310).
[0067] Specifically, referring to FIG. 1, an electrode portion (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an electrode (310), a second connecting member (not shown), and a trace (not shown) electrically connecting the electrode (310) and the second connecting member.
[0068] For example, referring to FIG. 1, according to one embodiment of the present invention, at least two electrodes (310) may be formed at a predetermined interval within the electrode portion (300), and preferably, three electrodes (310) including a reference electrode may be formed.
[0069] For another example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the second connecting member may perform a function of transmitting a biosignal measured from an electrode to a first connecting member formed on one side of the main body housing (100).
[0070] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the electrode (310) can form a contact point with the patient's body to measure a bio-signal such as an electrocardiogram signal, and the bio-signal measured from the electrode (310) can be transmitted to the second connection member through a trace. Meanwhile, the electrode unit (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be formed of a flexible material (for example, a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) material) so that the electrode (310) can easily form a contact point with the patient's body.
[0071] Next, the attachment portion (400) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be formed on the lower surface of the electrode portion (300).
[0072] Specifically, referring to FIG. 1, the attachment portion (400) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of an attachment pad (410), a fourth sealing layer (420), and a fifth sealing layer (430).
[0073] For example, referring to FIG. 1, the attachment pad (410) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be electrically connected to the electrode (310) through the second hole (421) and the third hole (431) (or inserted into the second hole (421) and the third hole (431). That is, the attachment pad (410) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform a function of assisting the electrode (310) in measuring the patient's bio-signal by forming a contact point with the patient's body instead of the electrode (310). Here, the attachment pad (410) can be configured in a number corresponding to the number of electrodes (310), and its size or shape can correspond to the size or shape of the electrode (310) (or the size or shape of the second hole (421) and the third hole (431).
[0074] For another example, referring to FIG. 1, the fourth sealing layer (420) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed on the lower surface of the electrode unit (300). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fourth sealing layer (420) may be formed of a material such as a double-sided tape, and an upper surface thereof may be attached to the lower surface of the electrode unit (300). In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer (420) may be attached to an upper surface of the fifth sealing layer (430). Meanwhile, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer (420) according to one embodiment of the present invention may correspond to an attachment surface that allows the device (10) to be attached to the patient's body (in this case, the attachment portion (400) includes an attachment pad (410) and the fourth sealing layer (420), but does not include the fifth sealing layer (430).
[0075] In addition, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer (420) according to one embodiment of the present invention may have an adhesive material disposed (or applied) on the lower surface so that the fourth sealing layer (420) can be attached to a patient, and the lower surface of the fifth sealing layer (430) may not have an adhesive material disposed (or applied). Therefore, according to the present invention, after confirming whether the bio-signal is properly measured while the fifth sealing layer (430) is attached to the patient, the fifth sealing layer (430) is separated and the fourth sealing layer (420) is attached to the patient's skin, thereby selecting an optimal bio-signal measurement position while preventing the adhesive strength of the attachment surface from weakening.
[0076] In addition, in the fourth sealing layer (420) according to one embodiment of the present invention, a second hole (421) may be formed at a position corresponding to the electrode (310) formed in the electrode portion (300). Here, the number of the second holes (421) may correspond to the number of electrodes (310) formed in the electrode portion (300), and the size or shape thereof may also correspond to the size or shape of the electrode (310).
[0077] For another example, referring to FIG. 1, the fifth sealing layer (430) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed on the lower surface of the attachment portion (400). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fifth sealing layer (430) may be formed of a material such as a medical adhesive tape, and the upper surface thereof may be attached to the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer (420).
[0078] For another example, referring to FIG. 1, the fifth sealing layer (430) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to cover a portion of the fourth sealing layer (130) where the attachment pad (410) is exposed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the attachment pad (410) may be exposed to the outside through a second hole (421) formed in the fourth sealing layer (420), and the fifth sealing layer (150) may be configured to cover this second hole (421), thereby preventing the attachment pad (410) from being exposed to the outside before the device (10) starts monitoring the patient's vital signs (or before selecting a location on the patient's body where the device (10) is attached). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a heterogeneous material may be formed on the surface of the fifth sealing layer (430) that comes into contact with the fourth sealing layer (420) (i.e., the upper surface of the fifth sealing layer (430), so that the fifth sealing layer (430) may be attached to the attachment pad (410) before the device (10) starts monitoring the patient's vital signs, and may be removed from the attachment pad (410) immediately before the device (10) starts monitoring the patient's vital signs (or at a time when it is required to select a location on the patient's body where the device (10) is attached). Meanwhile, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the surface of the fifth sealing layer (430) that does not come into contact with the fourth sealing layer (420) forms the lower surface of the device (10) before the device (10) starts monitoring the patient's vital signs, and an adhesive material may not be formed.
[0079] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a third hole (431) may be formed in the fifth sealing layer (430) at a position corresponding to the second hole (421) formed in the fourth sealing layer (420) (or the electrode (310) formed in the electrode portion (300). Here, the number of the third holes (431) may correspond to the number of the second holes (421) formed in the fourth sealing layer (420) (or the number of the electrodes (310) formed in the electrode portion (300), and the size or shape thereof may also correspond to the size or shape of the second hole (421) (or the size or shape of the electrode (310)).
[0080] Additionally, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a cutout (not shown) may be formed on one side of the fifth sealing layer (430) to facilitate removal of the fifth sealing layer (430) from the fourth sealing layer (420). According to one embodiment of the present invention, such a cutout may be formed across the fifth sealing layer (430) to separate the fifth sealing layer (430) into a plurality of pieces.
[0081] Meanwhile, referring to FIG. 1, a first sealing member (210) may be placed between the main body housing (100) and the bracket (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0082] Specifically, referring to FIG. 1, the first sealing member (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed of a waterproof or dustproof material (e.g., waterproof tape). Here, the first sealing member (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed in a shape corresponding to the shape of the lower surface of the main body housing (100) so as to cover the lower surface of the main body housing (100).
[0083] In addition, referring to FIG. 1, a fourth hole (211) may be formed in the first sealing member (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the second connecting member formed on the upper portion of the electrode portion (300) and the first connecting member of the main body housing (100) may be electrically connected through the first hole (203) and the fourth hole (211).
[0084] Also, referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when at least a portion of the bracket (200) is pressed for removal and the bracket (200) is at least partially bent along at least one groove, the first sealing member (210) can be at least partially separated from the bracket (200).
[0085] Accordingly, according to the present invention, a device having a high level of waterproof or dustproof function can be implemented by placing a first sealing member (210) between a bracket (200) configured to be at least partially bendable and a main body housing (100).
[0086] Additionally, referring to FIG. 1, a second sealing member (220) may be placed between the bracket (200) and the electrode portion (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0087] Specifically, referring to FIG. 1, the second sealing member (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of a first sealing layer (221), a second sealing layer (222), and a third sealing layer (223).
[0088] For example, referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the first sealing layer (221) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured in a shape corresponding to the shape of the first hole (203) so as to cover the first hole (203) of the bracket (200). According to one embodiment of the present invention, since a biosignal can be transmitted from the electrode unit (300) to the PCBA mounted on the main body housing (100) through the first hole (203), a circuit structure (not shown) may be included in the first hole (203). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, since it is necessary to pay attention to waterproofing or dustproofing for the circuit structure, the first sealing layer (221) is arranged to correspond to the first hole (203), thereby ensuring a waterproofing or dustproofing function. In addition, the first sealing layer (221) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured of a material that implements a waterproofing or dustproofing function.
[0089] For another example, referring to FIG. 1, the second sealing layer (222) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be placed on the lower surface of the bracket (200). In addition, the second sealing layer (222) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured in a shape corresponding to the shape of the lower surface of the bracket (200). In addition, the second sealing layer (222) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured of a material having a waterproof or dustproof function, such as a medical adhesive tape.
[0090] For another example, referring to FIG. 1, the third sealing layer (223) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to be disposed on the lower surface of the bracket (200) and on the upper surface of the electrode portion (300), thereby covering the upper surface of the electrode portion (300). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, since the third sealing layer (223) can cover the upper surface of the electrode portion (300), the electrode portion may not be exposed to the outside (for example, the FPCB may not be exposed to the outside). In addition, the third sealing layer (223) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured with a material having a waterproof or dustproof function, such as a medical adhesive tape.
[0091] Meanwhile, the second sealing member (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention does not have to include all of the first sealing layer (221), the second sealing layer (222), and the third sealing layer (223), and may include only some of them.
[0092] For example, the second sealing member (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be composed of only the third sealing layer (223). In this case, only the third sealing layer (223) may be placed between the bracket (200) and the electrode portion (300).
[0093] For another example, after the device (10) according to one embodiment of the present invention is attached to a patient, the third sealing layer (223) may be removed (or separated). In this case, in a situation where the device (10) is attached to a patient and a biosignal is measured, the second sealing member (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include the first sealing layer (221) and the second sealing layer (222), but may not include the third sealing layer (223).
[0094] Meanwhile, in at least one of the first sealing layer (221), the second sealing layer (222), and the third sealing layer (223) according to one embodiment of the present invention, a hole (not shown) may be further formed to allow a circuit structure (not shown) for transmitting a biosignal to penetrate (or be introduced).
[0095] How to attach the device to the user's body
[0096] Above, the components included in the device (10) have been specifically examined. Below, a method of attaching the device (10) to the user's body will be specifically examined.
[0097] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the device (10) can be delivered to a patient in a state in which the electrode assembly and the main body housing (100) are combined and each component of the electrode assembly is combined.
[0098] First, according to one embodiment of the present invention, an adhesive material may not be formed on the lower surface of the fifth sealing layer (430), and in this state, even if the device (10) comes into contact with the patient's body, the device (10) may not be attached to the patient's body.
[0099] Next, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the device (10) may be positioned at various locations on the patient's body to observe the patient's biosignals, and the location where the biosignals are most clearly measured may be selected. Additionally, a marker may be displayed at the selected location.
[0100] Next, according to one embodiment of the present invention, after the device (10) is removed from the patient's body, the fifth sealing layer (430) may be removed from the device (10). According to one embodiment of the present invention, when the fifth sealing layer (430) is removed from the device (10), only the fourth sealing layer (420) and the attachment pad (140) may be exposed at the bottom of the device (10).
[0101] Next, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the lower surface of the fourth sealing layer (420), i.e., the attachment surface, may be attached to a position indicated by a marker while the fourth sealing layer (420) and the attachment pad (410) are exposed at the bottom of the device (10).
[0102] Finally, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the third sealing layer (223) can be removed from the device (10) while the attachment surface is attached to the patient's body (i.e., the location indicated by the marker).
[0103] Accordingly, the present invention can minimize the decrease in adhesive strength of the attachment surface that may occur during the process of selecting the attachment location of the device (10), and select the optimal location for clearly measuring biosignals from the patient's body.
[0104] Although the present invention has been described above with specific details such as specific components and limited examples and drawings, these are provided only to help a more general understanding of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited to the above examples, and those with ordinary knowledge in the technical field to which the present invention pertains can make various modifications and changes based on this description.
[0105] Therefore, the idea of the present invention should not be limited to the embodiments described above, and not only the scope of the patent claims described below but also all scopes equivalent to or equivalently modified from the scope of the patent claims are considered to fall within the scope of the idea of the present invention.
