AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing headrests are not individually customizable and often result in an unsteady shape, failing to provide a comfortable and secure fit for different head sizes.

Method used

A headrest design featuring two curved metal plate frames interconnected by metallic plates using welding, threaded connection, or riveting, creating a groove for soft material installation, allowing for customizable shape and secure head support.

Benefits of technology

The headrest provides a uniform and comfortable fit by allowing the metal frames to be bent into individual shapes, ensuring secure head support through the use of soft material within the groove.

Abstract

The invention relates to the field of office and domestic furniture, and more particularly to devices for creating comfort during prolonged sitting at a computer and for preventing musculoskeletal disorders. A headrest comprises curved metal frames that are connected to one another along the inside edge with the aid of metal tabs by way of a weld seam, a threaded connection or riveting. This causes the formation of a gap, into which a soft material can be inserted for supporting the head. For fastening the headrest to a chair, a metal strip with holes is affixed to one of the frames by way of welding, threaded connection or riveting.

Description

[0001] Headrest of the chair

[0002] The invention relates to the field of office and home furniture, namely to devices for creating comfort during long periods of work at a computer and preventing diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

[0003] There is a headrest (US 2013 / 0043709 A1) whose front part is made taking into account that the head and neck will rest on it.

[0004] The disadvantage is that such a headrest is made in a certain shape for the specific parameters of the average person.

[0005] A headrest (SU578055 A1) is known that contains upholstery material with loops through which a wire is threaded, fastening the upholstery material to the headrest frame.

[0006] The disadvantage is that the method of attaching the upholstery material is labor-intensive to manufacture, and also that the headrest cannot be adjusted individually.

[0007] A headrest (US10238215 B2) is known in which the upholstery material is attached using plates sewn to it between two parts of the headrest frame.

[0008] The disadvantage is that the headrest is not adjustable and cannot be fully adjusted to suit each person.

[0009] The technical task of the invention is to create a headrest of an individual shape, into which any soft material can be installed to support the head.

[0010] The technical result is to provide support for the head due to uniform adhesion to the headrest.

[0011] The problem is solved, and the technical result is achieved by a headrest containing two curved metal plate frames, connected to each other along the inner contour by metal plates using welding, threaded connections or rivets. In this way, a groove is formed into which a soft material is installed to support the head.

[0012] To connect the headrest to the backrest, a metal plate with holes is attached to one of the frames using welding, threaded connection or riveting.

[0013] The essence of the invention is explained by drawings of a specific example of the implementation of the headrest of the chair, where Fig. 1 shows the headrest, Fig. 2 - a general view of the chair.

[0014] The headrest comprises a metal plate frame 1, a metal plate frame 2, metal plates 3, a metal plate 4.

[0015] The ability to bend metal frames 1 and 2, before welding metal plates 3, in any shape allows the headrest to be manufactured according to the individual parameters of a person’s head.

[0016] The presence of a groove between metal frames 1 and 2 and metal plate 3 allows you to install any soft material to ensure a comfortable position of the person's head.

[0017] Thus, the claimed invention proposes a headrest that provides a comfortable position for a person's head when sitting in a chair.

Claims

Invention formula 1. A headrest containing a frame with a groove, characterized in that it consists of curved metal plate frames that form a groove and are connected to each other along the inner contour using metal plates by a welded or threaded connection, or by riveting, and in order to connect the headrest to the backrest, a plate with holes is attached to one of the frames.
