Abstract
Description
Leak proof zipper assemblyField of invention
[0001] The invention is related to the engineering field, especially to a leak proof zipper assembly.Background of the invention
[0002] Generally, the zipper bag, as shown in, consists of a bag with a space for preserving objects inside and an opening as the passageway for objects into that space. In addition, the zipper bag also consists of an assembly of zippers that can close the bag. This is to prevent access to objects from outside the zipper bag and to prevent objects stored inside the zipper bag from coming out.
[0003] Although the current zipper assembly can prevent access and solid objects from exiting the zipper bag, this assembly often encounters operational problems, especially when the object stored inside the bag is liquid. This is because when the zipper assembly receives pressure from the liquid, the zippers will be pushed apart forming a gap between the zippers. Hence, the liquid can leak outside of the zipper bag through gaps formed within the zipper assembly. Therefore, the current zipper assembly is ineffective at preserving liquid inside the zipper bag.Summary of the invention
[0004] Therefore, the present invention aims to overcome the above-described problems by providing a leak proof zipper assembly comprising a first zipper; and a second zipper, being characterized as long lines and having a flexible structure that can be secured together. It is characterized in that the first zipper and the second zipper comprise at least two protrusions on each side configured to project towards the opposite sides while forming a groove between the two protrusions of the same side, wherein each protrusion is customized to have a shape to conform to the other protrusion, and wherein when the zippers are closed together and the protrusion is inserted into the groove on the opposite side, a pair of the opposite protrusions are interlocked together and the other protrusion is compressed inside the opposite groove.
[0005] For this reason, when a user loads liquid inside a zipper bag and closes the zippers together, a pair of opposing protrusions are interlocked together and the other protrusion is compressed within the groove on the other side. The protrusions on the zippers are held together in such a way that they contact and compress together, causing no gaps between the zippers. When the zippers receive pressure from the liquid contained within the bag, the protrusion of the first zipper and the second zipper will be pressed together more tightly, leaving no gaps between the zippers for the liquid to leak through. The zipper assembly of the present invention is thus able to prevent leakage of liquid stored inside the zipper bag and can effectively preserve liquid within the zipper bag.
[0006] The first embodiment of the present invention, the first zipper 100 comprises a first interlock protrusion 101; and compressed protrusion 102, forming a first groove 103 between thereof, and wherein the second zipper 200 comprises a second interlock protrusion 201; and a compression protrusion 202, forming a second groove 203 therebetween, wherein
[0007] the first interlock protrusion 101 has a first bending part 105 extending towards the compressed protrusion 102, and the second interlock protrusion 201 has a second bending part 205 extending towards the first interlock protrusion 101, in a manner that when zippers are closed together, the first interlock protrusion 101 interlocks the second interlock protrusion 201 with the first bending part 105 and with the second bending part 205 respectively, and the first interlock protrusion 101 is positioned closest to objects to be sealed;
[0008] the second interlock protrusion 201 further comprises a first convex part for compression 206 installed on the surface opposite the second bending part 205, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the first convex part for compression 206 is attached to the compressed protrusion 102;
[0009] the compressed protrusion 102 is configured to be narrowed down along its axis and the tip comprises a compressed head 106 being broadened away from the axis, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the compressed head 106 is attached to the second interlock protrusion 201 and to the compression protrusion 202; and
[0010] the compression protrusion 202 comprises a second convex part for compression 204 at the tip, which convexes in the direction of the compressed protrusion 102, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the second convex part for compression 204 is attached to the compressed protrusion 102.
[0011] Therefore, when the first zipper 100 and the second zipper 200 are closed together, the first interlock protrusion 101 and the second interlock protrusion 201 interlock each other with the first bending part 105 and the second bending part 205. Meanwhile, the compressed protrusion 102 of the first zipper 100 is compressed within the second groove 203 by the second convex part for compression 204 and the first convex part for compression 206. When the first interlock protrusion 101 receives pressure from objects or liquids contained within the bag, the pressure from them causes the first zipper 100 and the second zipper 200 to twist in opposite directions. As a result, the first interlock protrusion 101 and the second interlock protrusion 201 are more firmly interlocked and serve as a pivot point for the compressed protrusion 102 to be compressed within the second groove 203 by the second convex part for compression 204 and the first convex part for compression 206 more firmly. Therefore, there are no gaps within the zipper assembly that allow objects or liquids contained within to penetrate outside. The leak proof zipper assembly according to the present invention can prevent leakage of the liquid stored inside the zipper bag and can preserve liquids inside the zipper bag more efficiently.Brief description of the drawings

[0017] Next, the various embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanied drawings.
[0018] The leak proof zipper assembly of the present invention comprises the first zipper 100 and the second zipper 200, being characterized as long lines and having the flexible structure that can be secured together, characterized in that, the first zipper 100 and the second zipper 200 comprise at least two protrusions on each side configured to project towards the opposite sides while forming the groove between the two protrusions of the same side, wherein each protrusion is customized to have a shape to conform to the other protrusion, and wherein when the zippers are closed together and the protrusion is inserted into the groove on the opposite side, a pair of the opposite protrusions are interlocked together and the other protrusion is compressed inside the opposite groove.
[0019] The first and second embodiments of the present invention, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 respectively, the first zipper 100 comprises the first interlock protrusion 101 and the compressed protrusion 102, forming the first groove 103 therebetween, and wherein the second zipper 200 comprises the second interlock protrusion 201 and the compression protrusion 202, forming the second groove 203 therebetween. The first interlock protrusion 101 has the first bending part 105 extending towards the compressed protrusion 102, causing the first interlock protrusion 101 to be similar to the C shape. The second interlock protrusion 201 has the second bending part 205 extending towards the first interlock protrusion 101, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the first interlock protrusion 101 interlocks the second interlock protrusion 201 with the first bending part 105 and with the second bending part 205 respectively, and the first interlock protrusion 101 is positioned closest to objects to be sealed, i.e., inside the bag, side A, as shown in(side B is the side that opens to the outside of the bag).
[0020] The second interlock protrusion 201 further comprises the first convex part for compression 206 installed on the surface opposite the second bending part 205, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the first convex part for compression 206 is attached to the compressed protrusion 102.
[0021] The compressed protrusion 102 is configured to be narrowed down along its axis and the tip comprises the compressed head 106 being broadened away from the axis, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the compressed head 106 is attached to the second interlock protrusion 201 and to the compression protrusion 202; and
[0022] The compression protrusion 202 comprises the second convex part for compression 204 at the tip of the protrusion thereof, which convexes in the direction of the compressed protrusion 102, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the second convex part for compression 204 is attached to the compressed protrusion 102.
[0023] Therefore, when the first zipper 100 and the second zipper 200 are closed together, the first interlock protrusion 101 and the second interlock protrusion 201 interlock each other with the first bending part 105 and the second bending part 205. Meanwhile the compressed protrusion 102 of the first zipper 100 is compressed within the second groove 203 by the second convex part for compression 204 and the first convex part for compression 206. When the first interlock protrusion 101 receives pressure from objects or liquids contained within the bag, the pressure from them exerts on the two zippers in the direction shown by the arrows according to, causing the first zipper 100 and the second zipper 200 to twist in opposite directions. As a result, the first interlock protrusion 101 and the second interlock protrusion 201 are more firmly interlocked and serve as the pivot point for the compressed protrusion 102 to be compressed within the second groove 203 by the second convex part for compression 204 and the first convex part for compression 206 more firmly. Therefore, there are no gaps within the zipper assembly that allow objects or liquids contained within to penetrate outside. The leak proof zipper assembly according to the present invention is able to prevent leakage of the liquid stored inside the zipper bag and can preserve the liquid inside the zipper bag more efficiently.
[0024] In addition, in the first embodiment, as shown in, the compressed protrusion 102 further comprises a concave part 104 on a position corresponding to and in contact with the second convex part for compression 204 when the zippers are closed together. That is, the concave part 104 accommodates and increases the surface contact between the second convex part for compression 204 and the compressed protrusion 102, making it more firmly to prevent liquid leakage.
[0025] In addition, the first convex part for compression 206 and the second convex part for compression 204, when viewed from the cross-sectional image, may be formed to be rounded or trapezoid-like; while the compressed head 106, when viewed from the cross-sectional image, may be formed to be rounded or arrowhead-like. In the first and second embodiments of the present invention, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 respectively, the first convex part for compression 206, the second convex part for compression 204, and the compressed head 106, when viewed from the cross-sectional image, are formed to be in round shape.
[0026] Next, as shown in, the leak proof zipper assembly according to the third embodiment of the present invention comprises components identical to the first and second embodiments of the present invention, i.e., the first zipper 100 comprises the first interlock protrusion 101 and the compressed protrusion 102, forming the first groove 103 therebetween, and wherein the second zipper 200 comprises the second interlock protrusion 201 and the compression protrusion 202, forming the second groove 203 therebetween, wherein the first interlock protrusion 101 has the first bending part 105 extending towards the compressed protrusion 102, causing the first interlock protrusion 101 to be similar to the C shape, and the second interlock protrusion 201 has the second bending part 205 extending towards the first interlock protrusion 101, in a manner that when zippers are closed together, the first interlock protrusion 101 interlocks the second interlock protrusion 201 with the first bending part 105 and with the second bending part 205 respectively, and the first interlock protrusion 101 is positionedclosest to objects to be sealed, i.e., inside the bag, side A, as shown in(side B is the side that opens to the outside of the bag).
[0027] the second interlock protrusion 201 further comprises the first convex part for compression 206 installed on the surface opposite the second bending part 205, characterized in that when zippers are closed together, the first convex part for compression 206 is attached to the compressed protrusion 102;
[0028] The compressed protrusion 102 is configured to be narrowed down along its axis and the tip comprises the compressed head 106 being broadened away from the axis, in a manner that when zippers are closed together, the compressed head 106 is attached to the second interlock protrusion 201 and to the compression protrusion 202.
[0029] And, the compression protrusion 202 comprises the second convex part for compression 204 at the tip of the protrusion thereof ,which convexes in the direction of the compressed protrusion 102, in a manner that when zippers are closed together, the second convex part for compression 204 is attached to the compressed protrusion 102.
[0030] However, the first convex part for compression 206 and the second convex part for compression 204 in the third embodiment of the present invention, as shown in, when viewed from the cross-sectional image, are formed to be trapezoid-like. The short side of the parallel sides of the trapezoid is the part that contacts the compressed head 106. The compressed head 106, when viewed from the cross-sectional image, is formed to be the arrowhead-like, and the base of the arrowhead is in tight contact with the side that is perpendicular to the parallel sides of the trapezoid of the first convex part for compression 206 and the second convex part for compression 204. Therefore, the trapezoidal structure and the arrowhead structure with the shape related to the trapezoidal structure will allow the first convex part for compression 206 and the second convex part for compression 204 to hold the compressed head 106 inside the second groove 203 more firmly and also increase the contact surface area between the compressed protrusion 102 to the second interlock protrusion 201 and the compression protrusion 202. Therefore the zipper assembly can prevent the leakage of objects or liquids inside the zipper bag more firmly.
[0031] In addition, the first zipper 100 of the leak proof zipper assembly according to the present invention may also have the additional protrusion 107 formed protruding away from the compressed protrusion 102, in a manner that when the zippers are closed together, the additional protrusion 107 is attached to the compression protrusion 202 on the surface opposite the concave part 104, as shown in, showing the leak proof zipper assembly according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention. This additional protrusion 107 will increase another contact point on the surface area of the second convex part for compression 204 on the side that opens to the outside of the bag (side B in), providing an additional layer of leak proof protection. As a result, the leak proof zipper assembly can prevent leakage more effectively.
[0032] The leak proof zipper assembly according to the present invention can be used for both zipper bags in which the leak proof zipper assembly is attached as one piece on the inside wall of the zipper bag, as shown in, and in which the leak proof zipper assembly is attached as a separate piece to the zipper bag on the inside wall of the zipper bag, as shown in.
[0033] In addition to the various embodiments described in detail herein, modifications may be clearly understood and can be made by those skilled in the art of the zipper bag and the leak proof zipper assembly to obtain the zipper bag or the zipper assembly that can prevent objects, especially liquids, contained within the zipper bag from leaking outside the zipper bag, within the scope and intent of the invention as shown in the attached claims. Examples of improvements such as, although the present invention discloses in the first and second embodiments that the first convex part for compression 206, the second convex part for compression 204, and the compressed head 106, when viewed from the cross-sectional image, are molded to be rounded, those skilled in the art may also use the first convex part for compression 206 and the second convex part for compression 204, which are trapezoid-like, along with the compressed head 106, which is rounded, for example.
[0034] As described in the Detailed Description of the Invention.
