Description

DEVICE FOR SKIN DISPLACEMENTCROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0001] This application claims the benefit of a co-pending, commonly assigned U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63 / 616,525, which was filed on December 30, 2023. The entire content of the foregoing provisional application is incorporated herein by reference.BACKGROUND

[0002] A large percentage of individuals are unhappy with their physical appearance, such as their belly, waist, legs, or the like. In particular, as a person ages or after childbirth, the skin in certain areas loses elasticity and tone, resulting in wrinkles, fat, and / or cellulite. As an example, about 82% of women ages 18-54 are unhappy with their belly and waist appearance after a certain age.

[0003] Currently available solutions have certain disadvantages. Cosmetic surgery, such as a “tummy tuck”, can be expensive, painful, and invasive. Shapewear can be uncomfortable, unsightly, and limiting. Various laser treatments and / or creams can be time consuming, ineffective, and may provide only a temporary solution. As such, existing solutions do not provide effective and inexpensive options for improving the physical appearance of an individual.SUMMARY

[0004] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an exemplary garment system for skin tightening and / or displacement. The garment system includes a combination of elements that allow for convenient and effective tightening of the user’s skin (including fat, wrinkles and / or cellulite) to create an improved physical appearance. In some embodiments, the system includes a garment, e.g., a bra, underwear, swimwear, or the like, with a silicone strip extending circumferentially along the entire perimeter of the garment, e.g., the garment edge. The silicone strip is configured to detachably receive adhesive tape such that the adhesive tape is secured circumferentially along the entire perimeter of the garment at the silicone strip. The adhesive tape provides a sticky and stretchable material configured to be positioned against the skin of the user. In some embodiments, rather than silicone, the system / device can include a strip of hydrocolloid adhesive.

[0005] Straps of the garment can be used to reposition or elevate the garment on theuser, and the adhesive tape engaged with the skin of the user pulls the skin (and fat) in a tightening action, thereby creating a smoother skin appearance. By engaging with the user’s skin along the entire (or substantially entire) perimeter of the garment, a uniform or consistent pulling / tightening force is applied on the user’s skin (and fat) to provide a more effective and smooth visual result. For example, a continuous or substantially continuous engagement around the waist of the user provides an upward pulling force evenly around the user’s waist for a more natural, smoother appearance.

[0041] FIGS. 1-3 are front, rear and detailed views of an exemplary garment system 100 for skin tightening (hereinafter “system 100”, “garment system 100”, or skin displacement system 100). FIGS. 4-8 are inside views of the system 100 in an unclasped configuration. Although illustrated as a bra, it should be understood that the system 100can be incorporated into any type of garment, e.g., a bra, underwear, swimwear, or the like. In addition, the system 100 can be provided in the form of a bra, but without cups, to provide the skin displacement functionality. In such embodiments, the user can wear a bra underneath the system 100. The components of the system 100 can be incorporated into any type of garment to provide an adhesive element that engages the skin of the user and allows the skin (including fat, wrinkles and / or cellulite) to be pulled into a tighter position, thereby providing a smoother appearance of the skin.

[0042] The adhesive element is provided along the entire perimeter of the garment to engage with the user’s skin (and fat) along the entire perimeter of the garment. In some embodiments, the adhesive element can be provided in sections to cover most of the perimeter of the garment. The system 100 thereby provides a uniform or consistent pulling / tightening force on the user’s skin to provide a more effective and smooth visual result. As one example, a continuous or substantially continuous engagement around the waist of the user provides an upward pulling force evenly around the user’s waist for a more natural, smoother appearance. Use of the system 100 allows the area of the body that is being reshaped to be confidently exposed to others, provides endless outfit opportunities, is comfortable to wear, and easy to remove after use.

[0043] The system 100 discussed herein is in the form of a bra that includes a main body section 102 configured to be wrapped around the back and chest of the user. The main body section 102 defines a top edge 104 and an opposing bottom edge 106. The main body section 102 includes opposing ends 108, 110 with engagement features 112, 114 (e.g., hook and eye system, Velcro, or the like) for detachably securing the opposing ends 108, 110 to each other, and thereby securing the main body section 102 around the user’s back and chest. In some embodiments, the engagement features 112 can include multiple rows / columns of eyes / eyelets and the engagement features 114 can include a single row / column of complementary hooks to accommodate users of different sizes.

[0044] The bra includes two cups 116, 118 at or near the top edge 104. Adjustment straps 120, 122 connect at the top edge 104 at the front and rear of the bra at or near the cups 116, 118. The straps 120, 122 are configured to be positioned over the shoulders of the user. Each strap 120, 122 includes a slider 124, 126 that allows for adjustability of the overall length of the straps 120, 122 as measured between the opposing top edge 104 attachments.

[0045] The ends 128, 130 of the material for the cups 116, 118 extend in a crisscross pattern in the center of the bra, and connect to respective anchoring straps 132, 134 by sliders 136, 138. One end of the anchoring straps 132, 134 is fixedly sewn to the main body section 102 of the bra at fixed points 140, 142, while the opposing end connects to the respective slider 136, 138. The sliders 136, 138 allow for adjustability of the length or tightness provided by the ends 128, 130 which, in turn, adjusts the size or tightness provided by the cups 116, 118. The amount of support provided by the cups 116, 118 can thereby be varied.

[0046] The bra includes a continuous silicone strip 144 build onto the inside surface along the bottom edge 106. The silicone strip 144 extends from the bottom edge 106 towards the top edge 104 by a distance representing the width of the silicone strip 144. The silicone strip 144 extends along the bottom edge 106 from the opposing ends 108, 110 (or immediately adjacent to the opposing ends 108, 110), with this extension defining the length of the silicone strip 144. The continuous extension of the silicone strip 144 ensures that the entire bottom edge 106 of the bra includes the silicone material. When the opposing ends 108, 1 10 are secured to each other with the engagement features 1 12, 1 14, this results in the entire or substantially entire perimeter of the bra positioned against the user’ s skin to have the silicone strip 114.

[0047] In some embodiments, the width of the silicone strip 144 can be about, e.g., 1- 2.5 inches inclusive, 1-2.25 inches inclusive, 1-2 inches inclusive, 1-1.75 inches inclusive, 1-1.5 inches inclusive, 1-1.25 inches inclusive, 1.25-2.5 inches inclusive, 1.5-2.5 inches inclusive, 1.75-2.5 inches inclusive, 2-2.5 inches inclusive, 2.25-2.5 inches inclusive, 1.5- 2 inches inclusive, 1 inch, 1.25 inches, 1.5 inches, 1.75 inches. 2 inches, 2.25 inches, 2.5 inches, or the like. The length of the silicone strip 144 can vary depending on the overall band size of each garment. The thickness of the silicone strip 144 material is minimal, ensuring that the user does not feel discomfort when wearing the bra. In some embodiments, the silicone strip 144 can have a peeling strength of about 25 mm / N, and can have a holding power of about 25 mm / H. In some embodiments, the tensile properties of the silicone strip 144 can include, e.g., a rebound rate of about 50+5, an elongated at break of about 300%, or the like.

[0048] When the user is ready to use the garment, an adhesive element 146 is secured to the silicone strip 144 along the inside surface of the garment. In some embodiments, theadhesive element 146 can be medical grade adhesive tape including a removable protective cover 148 (e.g., peel off tape). In some embodiments, the protective cover 148 can be any- sticking or coated release paper having a thickness of about, e.g., 0.4-0.6 mm inclusive, 0.4-0.5 mm inclusive, 0.5-0.6 mm inclusive, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm, or the like. The adhesive element 146 can be fabricated to have specific properties. In some embodiments, the adhesive element 146 can be flexible to allow for some stretching of the material during use, e.g., during engagement with skin of the user and upward pulling motion. In some embodiments, the adhesive element 146 can be fabricated from a silicone gel having a thickness / weight of about 500+10 g / m2. In some embodiments, the adhesive element 146 can be a medical acrylic adhesive having a thickness / weight of about 50+5 g / m2. In some embodiments, the adhesive element 146 can be a polyurethane having a thickness (e.g., a width) of about 25+5 mm. In some embodiments, the adhesive element 146 can be transparent. The adhesive element 146 is configured such that it only secures to the silicone strip 144 and is incapable of attaching to other material. The overall width of the adhesive element 146 can be substantially equal to the width of the silicone strip 144 such that the adhesive element 146 completely overlies the silicone strip 144 when attached to the garment.

[0049] The adhesive element 146 is preferably applied as a single, continuous strip that covers the entire length of the silicone strip 144. The adhesive element 146 can be secured to the silicone strip 144 along the bottom edge 106 of the bra, and defines a width as measured from the bottom edge 106 towards the top edge 104. In some embodiments, the width of the adhesive element 146 can be about, e.g., 1-2.5 inches inclusive, 1-2.25 inches inclusive, 1-2 inches inclusive, 1-1.75 inches inclusive, 1-1.5 inches inclusive, 1-1.25 inches inclusive, 1.25-2.5 inches inclusive, 1.5-2.5 inches inclusive, 1.75-2.5 inches inclusive, 2-2.5 inches inclusive, 2.25-2.5 inches inclusive, 1.5-2 inches inclusive, 1 inch, 1.25 inches, 1.5 inches, 1.75 inches. 2 inches, 2.25 inches, 2.5 inches, or the like. The width is selected to ensure sufficient grip is provided by the adhesive element 146 to the skin of the user.

[0050] The continuous extension of the adhesive element 146 between the opposing ends 108, 110 of the bra ensures a continuous contact is made with the user’s skin around the entire perimeter of the body, i.e., around the chest, back and sides. When the protective cover 148, e.g., a backing strip, or the like, is removed for use, the adhesive element 146 provides a high friction, adhesive or sticky surface configured to engage directly with theskin of the user. Engagement or attachment of the adhesive element 146 with the skin is increased when the adhesive element 146 receives body heat from the skin, which helps to adhere the element 146 to the skin.

[0051] The adhesive element 146 thickness is minimal, even when overlaid with the silicone strip 144, to ensure comfort of the user. Visually, the silicone strip 144 and the adhesive element 146 are not visible due to positioning on the inside surface of the garment and having a minimal thickness. As such, others viewing the garment are unable to see that the garment is configured to provide a lifting action. The adhesive element 146 has some flexibility to allow for minimal stretching when engaged with the skin of the user, ensuring comfort to the user while permitting closure of the bra. For example, horizontal stretch allows ease of closure of the garment, as well as comfortable movement to the user while wearing the garment.

[0052] The adhesive element 146 is replaceable after each use, and is therefore removable from the garment and the silicone strip 144. During use, after the adhesive element 146 is applied to the silicone strip 144, the user can remove the protective cover 148 to expose the tacky side of the adhesive element 146. In some embodiments, the protective cover 148 can be positioned on both sides of the adhesive element 146, such that one protective cover 148 can be removed when attaching the adhesive element 146 to the silicone strip 144, and the opposing protective cover 148 can be removed before wearing the garment. The garment is then positioned and secured on the user with the adhesive element 146 against the skin of the user. The continuous extension of the adhesive element 146 ensures that the garment provides engagement with the skin of the user along the entire perimeter of the garment.

[0053] Such engagement provides a full lifting motion around the perimeter of the garment, which results in a more natural and effective lifting of, e.g., the skin, fat, wrinkles, cellulite, combinations thereof, or the like. Once the garment is positioned on the user, the straps 120, 122 are shortened using sliders 124, 126 to create a lifting motion on the user’s skin. This lifting motion stretches and smooths out the skin, fat, wrinkles, cellulite, or the like, of the user, resulting in a smoother overall appearance of the skin. After use of the garment, the adhesive element 146 can be removed (e.g., peeled off, or the like) and replaced with another adhesive element 146 to ensure a maximum amount of lifting is provided for subsequent use.

[0054] FIGS. 9 and 10 provide before and after images of an individual using the garment system 100. Before the straps 120, 122 are adjusted in length to create the lifting motion, the skin 200 of the user has wrinkles and is not smooth (see FIG. 9). After the straps 120, 122 are adjusted to create the lifting motion on the skin 200, a smoother appearance results (see FIG. 10). The continuous engagement with the skin 200 along the entire perimeter of the garment system 100 ensures a more natural and continuous smoothing effect is created. The width of the continuous adhesive element 146 provides a large contact area with the skin to ensure a smooth lifting action along the entire perimeter, including even above the area being lifted, e.g., under the band. The bonded fabric with the adhesive element 146 smooths out the fat and skin that is being lifted as the system pulls it gently upwardly, leaving the garment and lifting action unnoticeable under clothing. Thus, when viewed by others, it is difficult to discern or completely indiscernible that the garment with lifting action is being worn.

[0055] FIGS. 11-15 are perspective, detailed, rear and front views of an exemplary skin displacement device 300. Although described with respect to the depictions in FIGS. 11- 15, it should be understood that the device 300 can include one or more features / components from the system 100, and vice versa. In some embodiments, the device 300 can generally be in the form of a bra, except without cups. In some embodiments, the device 300 can generally be in the form of a bra, including cups (e.g., similar to cups of the system 100 or any type of bra). For example, the device 300 can include cups between the loops 330, 346 and the respective endpoints 328, 344.

[0056] The device 300 can include a main body section 302 formed as a multi-layer structure. The main body section 302 can include a first layer 304, a second layer 306, and a third layer 308. Although the layers 304, 306, 308 can be provided in separate respective first and second sections 310a, 310b, for purposes of the discussion herein, it should be understood that the layers 304, 306, 308 refer to both sections 310a, 310b unless noted otherwise. The layers 304, 306, 308 can generally define the same configuration and include the same components, except as noted herein. Therefore, the overall structure of the layers 304, 306, 308 is discussed only with respect to layer 304, although it should be understood that the described structure applies similarly to layers 306, 308.

[0057] In some embodiments, the layers 304, 308 can be formed from a soft material, e.g., microfiber, cotton, or the like. Thus, the layers 304, 308 are flexible and are formedfrom a non-rigid material. As used herein, the tern “non-rigid” refers to a material that is capable of being stretched and, upon application of a pulling force, deforms until the force is removed allowing the material to return to its normal configuration / dimensions. The layer 304 can be configured to be positioned against the skin of the user, and the layer 308 can be configured to face away from the skin of the user when the device 300 is worn.

[0058] In some embodiments, the layer 306 can be formed from a rigid material, e.g., Tricot fabric, or the like. As used herein, the term “rigid” refers to a material that is incapable of being stretched. The term “rigid” also refers to a material that is unstructured. Thus, any application of a pulling force on the material does not result in deformation. The material of the layer 306 still provides some flexibility such that when the device 300 is worn by a user, the main body section 302 can conform to the body shape of the user. However, the rigidity of the layer 306 is higher than the rigidity of the layers 304, 308. In some embodiments, the layers 304, 306 can be laminated together to form a significantly unitary structure. In such embodiments, the laminated layers 304, 306 can be connected to the layer 308 via, e.g., stitching along the perimeter edges, or the like. In some embodiments, the layers 304, 306, 308 are not laminated relative to each other and are instead connected to each other via other means known in the industry, e.g., stitching along the perimeter edges, or the like.

[0059] The material of the layer 306 therefore provides a level of rigidity to the main body section 302 of the device 300. The device 300 includes a flexible connecting section 312, 314 disposed between and connecting at least some of the first and second sections 310a, 310b of the layers 304,306, 308. In some embodiments, the flexible connecting section 312, 314 can be a mesh or perforated structure that allows for stretching and flexibility for improved fitting and adjustment of the device 300 when worn by a user. The material of the flexible connecting sections 312, 314 is different from the layers 304, 306, 308 and provides greater flexibility and stretchability than the layers 304, 308. The connecting sections 312, 314 can also provide a breathable comfort to the user at the rear of the device 300. In general, other than the connecting sections 312, 314, the remaining portion of the main body section 302 can be substantially rigid due to the layer 306. In some embodiments, about 80-90% of the main body section 302 can be substantially rigid.

[0060] In some embodiments, the connecting section 312 can be included at the layer 304 to connect opposing edges 316, 318 of the first and second sections 310a, 310b. Insome embodiments, the connecting section 314 can be included at the layer 308 to connect opposing edges 320, 322 of the first and second sections 310a, 310b. In some embodiments, the layer 306 can include a substantially similar flexible connecting section 312, 314. In some embodiments, the connecting sections 312, 314 can define a substantially trapezoidal configuration to provide greater flexibility along the bottom edge (i.e., the longer edge) of the device 300. In some embodiments, the connecting sections 312, 314 can be of any shape or configuration.

[0061] The first section 310a of each of the layers 304, 306, 308 can include an elongated strip 324 defining the bottom portion and bottom edge 326 of the main body section 302. The bottom edge 326 can be substantially linear. The endpoint 328 of the strip 324 defines the leftmost portion of the main body section 302, and is located on the opposing side of the first section 310 relative to the edge 316. From the top edge of the strip 324, the first section 310a includes a loop 330 including an opening 332 for passage of an arm of the user. The loop 330 can be formed by a substantially first strap 334 extending substantially vertically from the top edge of the strip 324 at or near the edge 316, a second strap 336 extending substantially vertically from the top edge of the strip 324 at a position between the edge 316 and the endpoint 328, and a curved top strap 338 connecting the top ends of the straps 334, 336 to form a closed loop 330.

[0062] In some embodiments, the entire loop 330 can be formed from the particular material of the respective layers 304, 306, 308. In such embodiments, a length adjustable, flexible strap can be connected to the loop 330 to allow for selective adjustability of the size of the opening 332 of the loop 330 based on user preferences. In some embodiments, one or more portions of the loop 330 can be replaced with a length adjustable, flexible strap with a slider to allow for adjustability of the size of the opening 332. For example, in some embodiments, the strap 336 can be replaced with a length adjustable, flexible strap with a slider. As a further example, the loop 330 can define an over the shoulder strap with only the front portion or half formed from the layers 304, 306, 308, and the rear portion or half including a flexible, adjustable strap with a slider for length adjustment. The adjustable strap can have minimal stretch (compared to traditional bra straps) to ensure the desired lift, support and displacement is provided by the device 300.

[0063] The second section 310b of the main body section 302 can define a substantially similar, mirror version of the structure of the first section 310a. In particular, the secondsection 310b includes an elongated strip 340 defining a bottom section and bottom edge 342. When assembled, the bottom edges 326, 342 substantially align along the same plane. The elongated strip 340 includes an endpoint 344 at the rightmost portion of the second section 310b and on the opposing end relative to the edge 318. The length of the strip 340 as measured between the edge 318 and the endpoint 344 can be dimensioned longer than the length of the strip 324 as measured between the edge 316 and the endpoint 328. In some embodiments, the length of the strips 324, 340 can be substantially equal.

[0064] The second section 310b includes a loop 346 substantially similar to the loop 330. In particular, the loop 346 includes a first strap 348 extending substantially vertically from the top edge at or near the edge 318, a second strap 350 extending substantially vertically from the top edge between the edge 318 and the endpoint 344, and a curved top strap 352 connected to ends of the straps 348, 350 and defining the opening 354 in the loop 346. A user can place their other arm through the opening 354 in the loop 346 to wear the device 300.

[0065] Thus, the device 300 generally includes strips 324, 340 that define the bottom portion of the device 300 which is configured to wrap around the waist of the user and around their ribcage (e.g., under the breasts). The device 300 further includes two loops 330, 346 through which arms of the user can pass to wear the device 300. The connecting sections 312, 314 which connect the opposing edges 316, 318 of the strips 324, 342 provide flexibility and stretchability of the strips 324, 342 relative to each other as the device 300 is worn by the user.

[0066] The bottom surface of the layer 308 can generally define the outward facing surface of the device 300 when the device 300 is worn by the user. The bottom surface of the strip 340 of the layer 308 includes a first section 356 of an engagement component. In some embodiments, the first section 356 can define a substantially rectangular configuration, and can extend from the endpoint 344 up to or near the strap 350. The first section 356 can be secured to the layer 308 via, e.g., adhesive, stitching, or the like.

[0067] The top surface of the layer 304 can generally define the inward facing surface of the device 300 when the device 300 is worn by the user. The top surface of the strip 324 includes a second section 358 of an engagement component complementary to the first section 356. The second section 358 can define a substantially rectangular or square configuration, and can extend from the endpoint 328 towards the strap 336. The length ofthe second section 358 can be dimensioned smaller than the length of the first section 356. The second section 358 can be secured to the layer 304 via, e.g., adhesive, stitching, or the like.

[0068] In some embodiments, the first and second sections 356, 358 can be complementary hook and loop structures, e.g., VELCRO®, or the like. When the device 300 is worn by the user, the opposing sections 356, 358 can overlap and engage relative to each other, allowing the user to adjust the position and size of the device 300. In particular, the sections 356, 358 can be used to provide fit flexibility to the user by adjusting the tightness of the device 300, thereby changing the overall size by, e.g., one full band size. The sections 356, 358 therefore allow for convenient customization and adjustment of the device 300 such that the device 300 can be worn by various users.

[0069] On the inwardly facing surface of the layer 304, the device 300 can include an assembly 360, 362 for replaceable positioning strips. Each assembly 360, 362 includes engagement components in the form of complementary first and second sections 364, 366, 368, 370, e.g., hook and loop structures, VELCRO®, or the like. In some embodiments, the hook and loop structure of the sections 364, 366 can be configured for flexible quiet and superior support when pulled up or down. In some embodiments, the type of hook and loop structure can be similar to the structure discussed in, e.g., U.S. Patent No. 11,918,066, or the like. The sections 364, 366 can be dimensioned substantially equally, and the sections 368, 370 can be dimensioned equally. The section 364 can define a substantially rectangular configuration that is fixedly (i.e., non-removably) secured to the top surface of the layer 304 such that the section 364 extends from the end of the section 358 to or near the edge 358. The section 366 is removable from the section 364 such that sections 366 can be interchanged. The sections 368 can define a substantially rectangular configuration that is fixedly secured to the top surface of the layer 304 such that the section 368 extends from the endpoint 364 to or near the edge 318. The section 370 is removable from the section 368 such that the section 370 can be interchanged.

[0070] Each assembly 360, 362 includes a positioning strip 372, 374 fixedly secured to the respective section 366, 370. In particular, the sections 364, 366, 368, 370 include complementary engaging surfaces facing each other, and the opposing side of the respective sections 366, 370 includes a positioning strip 372, 374 fixedly secured thereon via, e.g., adhesive, medical grade adhesive, bonding, or the like. The positioning strip 372, 374 istherefore not removable from the respective section 366, 370. The positioning strips 372, 374 can be dimensioned substantially equal to the respective sections 366, 370. The positioning strip 372, 374 is fabricated from a material or includes a surface coating with a material that provides high friction for engagement with the skin of the user. In some embodiments, the positioning strip 372, 374 can include, e.g., hydrocolloid adhesive, silicone, combinations thereof, or the like. In some embodiments, the hydrocolloid adhesive can be substantially similar to the adhesive used in, e.g., a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), or the like. The hydrocolloid adhesive provides a high level of adherence to the user’s skin, even in hot or sweaty conditions and for many hours, allowing for mobility without sacrificing stability, and further releases or separates from the user’s skin without harming the skin or leaving residue behind. In some embodiments, the positioning strip 372, 374 can include a hydrophilic material that absorbs water. When the device 300 is worn by the user, the material of the positioning strip 372, 374 engages with the skin of the user and allows for pulling up and / or displacement of skin of the user.

[0071] In some embodiments, each of the assemblies 360, 362 can include a multi-layer structure. Each assembly 360, 362 can include a protective, removable strip 376, 378 disposed on the positioning strip 372, 374. The strip 376, 378 protects the material and / or coating of the positioning strip 372, 374 such that the high friction characteristic is maintained at its optimal level until the device 300 is ready to be used. Before wearing the device 300, the user can remove the removable strip 376, 378 to expose the positioning strip 372, 374 to be positioned against the skin of the user. After wearing the device 300 one or more times, the positioning strip 372, 374 can be removed from the device 300 via disengagement of the section 366, 370 from the respective section 364, 368. For example, if the high friction characteristic of the positioning strip 372, 374 wears out or reduces after use of the device 300, the positioning strip 372, 374 can be replaced. A new positioning strip 372, 374 can therefore be secured to the device 300 for subsequent use.

[0072] The device 300 can provide several advantages to the user. When the device 300 is closed around the waist of the user, the positioning strips 372, 374 are disposed against the skin of the user and provide a grip against the skin (e.g., a high friction contact). The positioning strips 372, 374 ensure that the desired position of the device 300 is maintained. When the loops 330, 346 are positioned over the shoulders of the user, the positioning strips 372, 374 pull up or tighten the skin of the user by, e.g., fat displacement and / or redistribution, skin displacement and lift, breast tissue lift, posture support, combinations thereof, or the like. The combination of the multiple layers 304, 306, 308, rigidity of the layer 306, and placement of the device 300 allow the fat to be concealed (e.g., displaced and / or distributed) as at least a portion of the device 300 sits at the underbust line. Wearing of the device 300 can also improve the overall physical appearance of the user.

[0073] The materials used to form the main body section 302, particularly the rigid material for the layer 306, provides greater support to the user than a traditional bra, which helps with overall posture. The multi-layer structure of the main body section 302 provides three layer stabilization to the user. In particular, rather than merely pulling up from the band along the waist, the entire main body section 302 of the device 300 provides support, lift and stability to the user. The rigidity of the loops 330, 346, as well as the use of the positioning strips 372, 374 for contact on both the front and back of the user, assists with posture improvement by pulling up and providing support on both the front and back of the user’s body. This helps with straightening the overall position and posture of the user, forcing the user to square off their shoulders (rather than rounding them). The device 300 further provides several advantages to the user, e.g., improves posture, suppresses fat and / or skin movement, displaces or lifts skin, lifts breasts, combinations thereof, or the like. Although illustrates as a device 300 configured to be positioned around the waist of the user, in some embodiments, a substantially similar structure and / or multi-layer structure with positioning strips can be incorporated into a different wearable product, e.g., cycling shorts for thigh and / or butt lift, panties for butt lift, bustier top, or the like.

[0074] FIGS. 14 and 15 show rear (e.g., inner) and front (e.g., outer) views of the device 300. As illustrated in FIG. 14, the positioning strips 372, 374 extend the majority of the length of the device 300, ensuring that when the device 300 is wrapped around the waist of the user, the positioning strips 372, 374 will wrap around and be positioned against the rear, front and sides of the user. The rigid structure of the main body section 302 (due to the layer 306) includes not only the elongated strips 324, 340, but also all or the majority of the loops 330, 346. The extensiveness of the rigid structure of the main body section 302 provides greater posture support to the user (as compared to traditional bras which are mainly flexible and stretchable).

[0075] FIG. 15 shows the section 356 of the engagement component for adjustable fixation of the device 300 on the user. The hook and loop arrangement for the engagementcomponent via sections 356, 358 allows for a more convenient and accurate fitting for the user.

[0076] FIGS. 16-20 are detailed views of an exemplary skin displacement device 400. The device 400 can be substantially similar in structure and / or function to the device 300, except for the distinctions noted herein. Thus, the same reference numbers are used to refer to the same structures.

[0077] In some embodiments, the entire loop 330, 346 of the device 400 can be formed from the multi-layer structure, e.g., layers 304, 306, 308, such that rigidity is provided in the entire main body section 302 of the device 400 except for the connecting section 312. Rigidity is therefore provided along the entire length 402 of the strip 340 (see FIG. 18), and similarly along strip 324. Similarly, rigidity is provided along the entire length of the loops 330, 346.

[0078] In some embodiments, only a portion of the loops 330, 346 can be formed from the multi-layer structure, and the remaining portion can be formed from adjustable, flexible straps. For example, only a portion of the length 404 can be formed from the rigid structure (see FIG. 19). In some embodiments, such length 404 can be, e.g., half of the overall length of the loops 330, 346, 50-75% of the overall length of the loops 330, 346, or the like. In such embodiments, the rigid structure is provided at the front of the loops 330, 346, with the adjustable, flexible straps disposed at the rear of the loop 330, 346.

[0079] For example, the endpoint of the rigid structure of the loop 330, 346 can be connected to the top edge of the strips 324, 340 by flexible, adjustable straps 406, 408. Sliders 410, 412 can allow for adjustability of the length of the straps 406, 408, allowing for a customized fit and adjustable lift provided by the device 400. Thus, while the majority of the device 400 can be formed from the rigid structure (e.g., about 80-90%, 85-95%, or the like), the remaining portions (such as the flexible straps 406, 408 and the connecting sections 312, 314) can be flexible and stretchable. The higher rigid surface area of the device 400 ensures that skin displacement and posture support is provided to the user.

[0080] While exemplary embodiments have been described herein, it is expressly noted that these embodiments should not be construed as limiting, but rather that additions and modifications to what is expressly described herein also are included within the scope of the invention. Moreover, it is to be understood that the features of the various embodiments described herein are not mutually exclusive and can exist in various combinations andpermutations, even if such combinations or permutations are not made express herein, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
