Description

DOOR / WINDOW DEVICETECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a door / window device and, more particularly, to a door / window device having a grid-like structure.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A door / window device may be provided in a passageway or an opening of a wall to provide various functions. For example, a door may be provided to separate an inner space from an outer space, and a window may be installed in an opening of a wall for natural lighting as well as providing a view.

[0003] Some manufacturers offer a grid-like design having a frame and beams installed in the frame and intersecting or not intersecting with each other, thereby providing a door / window device which is not completely sealed or solid. Generally, in the above grid-like design, some of the beams are simply drilled or cut to provide a slot, a through-hole, or the like to permit passage of other beams, thereby forming a grid-like structure. However, the resultant structure is insecure, and the intersecting beams may collide with each other and, thus, generate noises when the door / window device is opened or closed. In an alternative approach, the intersecting beams are welded to provide a secure structure at the cost of time-consuming and troublesome processing.

[0004] BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] In a first aspect, the present invention provides a door / window device comprising a frame device including two first fixing holes. Two first coupling members are respectively coupled with the two first fixing holes. Each of the two first coupling members includes a coupling portion. A first beam has a first end and a second end. Each of the first end and the second end of the first beam is coupled with the coupling portion of a respective one of the first coupling members.

[0006] The first beam can be easily and rapidly coupled with the frame device via the first coupling members. Furthermore, no screws or any connecting structures are exposed to an outside of the door / window device after assembly.

[0007] In an example, the frame device includes a first frame member and a second frame member spaced from the first frame member in a first direction. The two first fixing holes are respectively formed on the first frame member and the second frame member. Each of the two first fixing holes is non-circular in cross section. Each of the two first coupling members includes a tightening portion non-rotatably coupled with one of the two first fixing holes. The coupling portions of the two first coupling members are located outside of the first frame member and the second frame member and are respectively coupled with the first end and the second end of the first beam.

[0008] Both the cross sectional shape of the tightening portion of each first coupling member and the cross sectional shape of each first fixing hole are non-circular, such that each first coupling member will not rotate relative to the respective one of the first and second frame members after coupling.

[0009] In an example, the door / window device further comprises two first fasteners. The tightening portion of each first coupling member includes a cutout extending along a longitudinal axis thereof to form a flexible section and a stop section on two sides of the cutout. A central portion of the cutout defines a fastener hole extending along the longitudinal axis of the tightening portion. The maximum thickness of the stop section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is greater than the maximum thickness of the flexible section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Each of the two first fasteners extends into a respective one of the fastener holes. The flexible section of each of the two first coupling members is pressed by a respective one of the two first fasteners to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with an inner periphery of the respective one of the two first fixing holes, thereby securely fixing the respective one of the two first  coupling members to the respective one of the first frame member and the second frame member.

[0010] Since the maximum thickness of the flexible section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is different from that of the stop section, the orientation of assembly can be assured after each first coupling member is coupled with the respective one of the first and second frame members. The flexible section of each first coupling member is pressed by a respective first fastener to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with the inner periphery of the respective first fixing hole, thereby securely fixing the first coupling member to the respective one of the first and second frame members. As a result, each first coupling member is less likely to fall from the respective one of the first and second frame members.

[0011] In an example, the door / window device further comprises:

[0012] a third beam and a fourth beam spaced from the third beam in a second direction at a non-parallel angle to the first direction, wherein the third beam and the fourth beam are coupled with the first and second frame members, wherein each of the third and fourth beams includes a second fixing hole;

[0013] two second coupling members respectively coupled with the second fixing holes of the third and fourth frame members, wherein each of the two second coupling members includes a coupling portion; and

[0014] a second beam including two ends spaced from each other in the second direction and a second notch between the two ends thereof, wherein each of the two ends of the second beam is coupled with the coupling portion of a respective one of the two second coupling members, and wherein the first beam extends through the second notch.

[0015] The second beam can be easily and rapidly coupled with the frame device via a respective second coupling member. Furthermore, no screws or any connecting structures are exposed to an outside of the door / window device after assembly.

[0021] In an example, the door / window device further comprises two second fasteners. Each of the two second fixing holes includes a first portion and a second portion having a diameter smaller than the first portion and intercommunicating with the  first portion. Each of the two second coupling members includes a tightening portion having a cutout extending along a longitudinal axis thereof to form a flexible section and a stop section on two sides of the cutout. A central portion of the cutout defines a fastener hole extending along the longitudinal axis of the tightening portion. The maximum thickness of the stop section of each of the two second coupling members perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is greater than the maximum thickness of the flexible section of the second coupling member perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Each of the two second fasteners extends into the fastener hole of a respective one of the two second coupling members. The flexible section of each of the two second coupling members is pressed by a respective one of the two second fasteners to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with an inner periphery of the respective one of the two second fixing holes, thereby securely fixing the respective one of the two second coupling members to the respective one of the third frame member and the fourth frame member.

[0022] In an example, the door / window device further comprises a second beam and a third beam. The second beam includes two second notches and is disposed on an inner side of the frame member. The first beam extends through one of the two second notches. The third beam extends through another of the two second notches. The frame member further includes another fixing hole. The door / window device further includes another coupling member coupled with the another fixing hole. The third beam includes an engaging end coupled with the another coupling member.

[0023] The length of the third beam is shorter than the first beam and is shorter than the spacing between the first and second frame members, and the shorter third beam may have different patterns after assembly. Furthermore, the third beam is securely coupled with the second beam.

[0053] In an example, the door / window device further comprises two first coupling members. The frame device includes a first frame member and a second frame member spaced from the first frame member in a first direction. Each of the first frame member and the second frame member includes a first fixing hole. The first beam includes a first end and a second end. The first notch is located between the first end and the second end. Each of the first end and the second end is coupled with the first coupling portion of a respective one of the two first coupling members.

[0054] In an example, each first fixing hole is non-circular in cross section. Each of the two first coupling members includes a tightening portion non-rotatably coupled with one of the two first fixing holes. The coupling portions of the two first coupling members are located outside of the first frame member and the second frame member and are respectively coupled with the first end and the second end of the first beam.

[0055] In an example, the door / window device further comprises two first fasteners. Each first fixing hole includes a first portion and a second portion intercommunicating with the first portion. The tightening portion of each of the two first fixing members includes a cutout extending along a longitudinal axis thereof to form a flexible section and a stop section on two sides of the cutout. The flexible section of each of the two first fixing members is received in the first portion of a respective one of the first fixing holes. The stop section of each of the two first fixing members is received in the second portion of a respective one of the first fixing holes. A central portion of the  cutout of each of the two first fixing members defines a fastener hole extending along the longitudinal axis of the tightening portion thereof. The maximum thickness of the stop section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is greater than the maximum thickness of the flexible section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Each of the two first fasteners extends into the fastener hole of a respective one of the two first fixing members.

[0056] The flexible section of each first coupling member is pressed by a respective first fastener to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with the inner periphery of the respective first fixing hole, thereby securely fixing the first coupling member to the respective one of the first and second frame members. As a result, each first coupling member is less likely to fall from the respective one of the first and second frame members.

[0057] In an example, the door / window device further comprises:

[0058] a third beam and a fourth beam spaced from the third beam in a second direction at a non-parallel angle to the first direction, wherein the third beam and the fourth beam are coupled with the first and second frame members, wherein each of the third and fourth beams includes a second fixing hole; and

[0059] two second coupling members, wherein each of the two second coupling members includes a coupling portion coupled with a respective one of the second fixing holes.

[0060] In an example, the door / window device further comprises two second fasteners. Each second fixing hole includes a first portion and a second portion  intercommunicating with the first portion. Each of the two second coupling members includes a tightening portion having a cutout extending along a longitudinal axis thereof to form a flexible section and a stop section on two sides of the cutout. A central portion of the cutout defines a fastener hole extending along the longitudinal axis of the tightening portion. Each of the two second fasteners extends into the fastener hole of a respective one of the second coupling members.

[0061] The present invention will become clearer in light of the following detailed description of illustrative embodiments of this invention described in connection with the drawings.

[0078] Please refer to FIGS. 1-4 showing a door / window device 10 of a first embodiment according to the present invention. The door / window device 10 may be but not limited to a door, a window, or the like and may comprise a frame device 20 and one or more first beam 64. The frame device 20 may have any desired shape, such as a circle, a rectangle, a quadrilateral, or any other geometric or irregular shape. The frame device 20 may include a plurality of fixing holes (such as first fixing holes 28 and second fixing holes 40A, which will be described hereinafter) . Each of two ends of each first beam 64 is attached to two of the fixing holes of the frame device 20 by a first coupling member 48. Each first beam 64 may be rectilinear, arcuate, or any regular or irregular shape. In this embodiment, the frame device 20 includes a first frame member 22, a second frame member 23 spaced from the first frame member 22 in a first direction (the vertical direction in this embodiment) , a third frame member 38, and a fourth frame member 39 spaced from the third frame member 38 in a second direction (the horizontal direction in this embodiment) at a non-parallel angle to the first direction. Each of the first frame member 22, the second frame member 23, the third frame member 38, and the fourth frame member 39 may be but not limited to be in the form of an aluminum beam formed by extrusion.

[0079] The first frame member 22 and the second frame member 23 may be substantially identical and arranged in a symmetric fashion. For ease of explanation, the symmetric parts of the first frame member 22 and the second frame member 23 are designated by the same reference numerals. In this embodiment, each of the first frame member 22 and the second frame member 23 includes an inner face 24 and a first engaging groove 26 extending inward from the inner face 24. The inner face 24 (i.e.,  the bottom face in this embodiment) of the first frame member 22 faces the inner face 24 (i.e., the top face in this embodiment) of the second frame member 23 after installation. Each first engaging groove 26 may extend throughout a length of a respective one of the first frame member 22 and the second frame member 23. Each of the first frame member 22 and the second frame member 23 further includes at least one first fixing hole 28 located on the inner face 24 thereof and spaced from the first engaging groove 26 thereof. In this embodiment, each of the first and second frame members 22 and 23 includes a plurality of first fixing holes 28, and each first fixing hole 28 has a first portion 30 and a second portion 32 extending outward from an inner edge of the first portion 30 and having a diameter smaller than the first portion 30. In this embodiment, each first fixing hole 28 is non-circular in cross section (such as a figure-8 hole, as shown in FIG. 1) , and the first portion 30 intercommunicates with the second portion 32. A first connecting member 34 is securely mounted in each first connecting groove 26. Each first connecting member 34 may be but not limited to be made of rubber material and includes a first clamping groove 36 having an open end. The first clamping groove 36 of the first frame member 22 faces the first clamping groove 36 of the second frame member 23 after installation.

[0080] The third frame member 38 and the fourth frame member 39 may be substantially identical and arranged in a symmetric fashion. For ease of explanation, the symmetric parts of the third frame member 38 and the fourth frame member 39 are designated by the same reference numerals. In this embodiment, each of the third frame member 38 and the fourth frame member 39 includes an inner face 40 and a second engaging groove 42 extending inward from the inner face 40. The inner face 40 (i.e., the right face in this embodiment) of the third frame member 38 faces the inner face 40 (i.e., the left face in this embodiment) of the fourth frame member 39 after installation. Each second engaging groove 42 may extend throughout a length of the respective one  of the third frame member 38 and the fourth frame member 39. A second connecting member 44 is securely mounted in each second engaging groove 42. Each second connecting member 44 may be but not limited to be made of rubber material and includes a second clamping groove 46 having an open end. The second clamping groove 46 of the third frame member 38 faces the second clamping groove 46 of the fourth frame member 39 after installation.

[0081] In this embodiment, the first frame member 22 is disposed between upper ends of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39, and the second frame member 23 is disposed between lower ends of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39. Thus, the first frame member 22, the second frame member 23, the third frame member 38, and the fourth frame member 39 together define a substantially rectangular frame. The two first clamping grooves 36 and the two second clamping grooves 46 are located on the same plane. Four edges of a closure member 21 are securely coupled with the two first clamping grooves 36 and the two second clamping grooves 46 to provide secure engagement between the closure member 21 and the frame device 20. The closure member 21 may but not limited to be made of glass. Thus, the inner side of the frame device 20 may be in a sealed state.

[0082] In this embodiment, the door / window device 10 includes a plurality of first beams 64 coupled with two of the first fixing holes 28 of the frame device 20. In this embodiment, each first beam 64 is in the form of a vertical beam disposed between the first and second frame members 22 and 23. Each first beam 64 includes a first end 66 and a second end 67. In this embodiment, the length of each first beam 64 is slightly smaller than the spacing between the inner faces 24 of the first and second frame members 22 and 23. Furthermore, the door / window device 10 comprises a plurality of first coupling members 48. The first end 66 of each first beam 64 is coupled with the first frame member 22 via a respective first coupling member 48. The second end 67 of  each first beam 64 is coupled with the second frame member 23 via a respective first coupling member 48.

[0083] In this embodiment, each first coupling member 48 includes a coupling portion 50 having an abutting face 54 from which a tightening portion 56 protrudes. Each tightening portion 56 may be in the form of a protrusion and includes a cutout 57 extending along a longitudinal axis thereof to form a flexible section 58 and a stop section 60 on two sides of the cutout 57. A central portion of the cutout 57 may define a fastener hole 53 extending along the longitudinal axis of the tightening portion 56. The maximum thickness of the stop section 60 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is greater than that of the flexible section 58. Thus, each tightening portion 56 has non-circular cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. In a non-restrictive example, the cross-sectional shape of each tightening portion 56 may be the same as the cross sectional shape of each first fixing hole 28. Each first coupling member 48 further includes an end face opposite to the abutting face 54 and a receiving groove 52 extending from the end face to a respective fastener hole 53 to thereby intercommunicate with the respective fastener hole 53.

[0084] The tightening portion 56 of each first coupling member 48 is coupled with a respective one of the first fixing holes 28 of the first and second frame members 22 and 23. The flexible section 58 of each tightening portion 56 is received in the first portion 30 of the respective one of the first fixing holes 28, and the stop section 60 of each tightening portion 56 is received in the second portion 32 of the respective one of the first fixing holes 28. The abutting face 54 of each first coupling member 48 abuts a respective one of the inner faces 24 of the first and second frame members 22 and 23. The coupling portion 50 of each first coupling member 48 is located outside of a respective one of the upper and second frame members 22 and 23 and, thus, protrudes outward beyond the respective one of the inner faces 24 of the first and second frame  members 22 and 23. Since both the cross-sectional shape of each first fixing hole 28 and the cross-sectional view of each first coupling member 48 are non-circular, each first coupling member 48 cannot rotate relative to the respective one of the first and second frame members 22 and 23 after each first coupling member 48 is coupled with the respective one of the first fixing holes 28. Furthermore, the thickness of the flexible section 58 of each tightening portion 56 is different from the thickness of the respective stop section 60, such that each first coupling member 48 can be accurately installed in the correct angular position. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the first coupling members 48 on the first frame member 22 are aligned with those on the second frame member 23 after assembly.

[0085] The receiving groove 52 of each first coupling member 48 receives a first fastener 62 which may be but not limited to a screw shown in the drawings. Each first fastener 62 extends into a respective one of the fastener holes 53. The flexible section 58 of each first coupling member 48 is pressed by a respective first fastener 62 to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with the inner periphery of the respective first fixing hole 28, thereby securely fixing the first coupling member 48 to the respective one of the first and second frame members 22 and 23.

[0086] With reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, the first end 66 and the second end 67 of each first beam 64 are respectively coupled with the coupling portions 50 of two first coupling members 48 (two aligned first coupling members 48 respectively on the first and second frame members 22 and 23 in this embodiment) , such that the first beams 64 are spacedly arranged on a side of the closure member 21, providing a door / window device 10 having a vertical beam pattern. Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 4, each first beam 64 is spaced from the closure member 21 by a small spacing to avoid noises resulting from collision between the first beams 64 and the closure member 21.

[0087] FIGS. 5-9 illustrate a door / window device 10 of a second embodiment according to the present invention. In comparison with the first embodiment, the second embodiment further comprises one or more second beams 74 intersecting or not intersection with the first beams 64. Each second beam 74 is attached to two of the fixing holes (the second fixing holes 40A in this embodiment) of the frame device 20 by a second coupling member 48A. Each second beam 64 may be rectilinear, arcuate, or any regular or irregular shape. In this embodiment, the door / window device 10 comprises a plurality of second beams 74 each of which is in the form of a second beam having two ends respectively coupled with the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39.

[0088] According to the form shown in FIGS. 5-9, each first beam 64 includes two lateral walls 70 connected by an interconnecting wall 68 therebetween. Each first beam 64 further includes a plurality of first notches 72 between the first end 66 and the second end 67. Each first notch 72 extends through a portion of a length of the interconnecting wall 68 and portions of the two lateral walls 70. In this embodiment, each first beam 64 further includes another interconnecting wall opposite to the interconnecting wall 68, such that the cross sectional shape of each first beam 64 is a hollow rectangle. Nevertheless, each first beam 64 may have only one interconnecting wall 68 to present substantially U-shaped cross sections. The number of the first notches 72 is the same as that of the second beams 74 in this embodiment.

[0089] In this embodiment, each second beam 74 includes two ends 76 for coupling with the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39. Each second beam 74 includes two lateral walls 80 connected by an interconnecting wall 78 therebetween. Each second beam 74 further includes a plurality of second notches 82 provided between the two ends 76 thereof. Each second notch 82 extends through a portion of a length of the interconnecting wall 78 and portions of the two lateral walls 80. In this embodiment,  each second beam 74 further includes another interconnecting wall opposite to the interconnecting wall 78, such that the cross sectional shape of each second beam 74 is a hollow rectangle. Nevertheless, each second beam 74 may have only one interconnecting wall 78 to present substantially U-shaped cross sections. The number of the second notches 82 is the same as that of the first beams 64 in this embodiment.

[0090] Each second notch 82 of each second beam 74 is coupled with a first connecting member 131. Each first connecting member 131 includes a first bottom wall 133 and two first arms 135 symmetric to each other and respectively extending from two opposite sides of the first bottom wall 133. Each first connecting member 131 further includes two first wings 137 respectively extending from another two opposite sides of the first bottom wall 133. Each first connecting member 131 further includes a first connecting portion 139 located between the two first arms 135 and the two first wings 137. In a non-restrictive example, the first connecting portion 139 may be a snap fastener in the form of a hook having a central slit to provide two resilient pieces at a distal end thereof.

[0091] Each first connecting member 131 is received in a respective one of the second notches 82. Each first arm 135 of each first connecting member 131 abuts the interconnecting wall 78 of a respective one of the second beams 74, as shown in FIG. 8. The two first wings 137 of each first connecting member 131 abut two edges of the respective second notch 82 on the two lateral walls 80 of the respective one of the second beams 74, as shown in FIG. 9.

[0092] Each first notch 72 of each first beam 64 is coupled with a second connecting member 111. Each second connecting member 111 includes a second bottom wall 113 and two second arms 115 symmetric to each other and respectively extending from two opposite sides of the second bottom wall 113. Each second connecting member 111 further includes two second wings 117 respectively extending from another two opposite  sides of the second bottom wall 113. Each second connecting member 111 further includes a second connecting portion 119 extending through the second bottom wall 113 and located between the two second arms 115 and the two second wings 117. The second connecting portion 119 may be but not limited to a rectangular slot for coupling with a respective first connecting portion 139 in the form of a snap fastener.

[0093] Each second connecting member 111 is received in a respective one of the first notches 72. Each second arm 115 of each second connecting member 111 abuts a respective interconnecting wall 68 of a respective one of the first beams 64, as shown in FIG. 9. The two second wings 117 of each second connecting member 111 abut two edges of the respective first notch 72 on the two lateral walls 70 of the respective one of the first beams 64, as shown in FIG. 8.

[0094] Furthermore, the inner face 40 of each of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39 includes a plurality of second fixing holes 40A (see FIG. 6) spaced from the second engaging groove 42. Each second fixing hole 40A includes a first portion 40B and a second portion 40C having a diameter smaller than the first portion 40B and intercommunicating with the first portion 40B. In this embodiment, each second fixing hole 40A is non-circular in cross section (such as a figure-8 hole) .

[0095] The door / window device 10 of the second embodiment further comprises a plurality of second coupling members 48A. In this embodiment, each second coupling member 48A includes a coupling portion 50A having an abutting face 54A from which a tightening portion 56A protrudes. Each tightening portion 56A may be in the form of a protrusion and includes a cutout 57A extending along a longitudinal axis thereof to form a flexible section 58A and a stop section 60A on two sides of the cutout 57A. A central portion of the cutout 57A may define a fastener hole 53A extending along the longitudinal axis of the tightening portion 56A. The maximum thickness of the stop section 60A perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is greater than that of the flexible  section 58A. Thus, each tightening portion 56A has non-circular cross sections perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. In a non-restrictive example, the cross-sectional shape of each tightening portion 56A may be the same as the cross sectional shape of each second fixing hole 40A. Each second coupling member 48A further includes an end face opposite to the abutting face 54A and a receiving groove 52A extending from the end face to a respective fastener hole 53A to thereby intercommunicate with the respective fastener hole 53A. Each second coupling member 48A may be identical or similar to each first coupling member 48. In this embodiment, each second coupling member 48A is similar to each first coupling member 48 except for the size. Nevertheless, each second coupling member 48A may be identical to each first coupling member 48 when the dimensions of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39 correspond to those of the first and second frame members 22 and 23 and the dimension of each second fixing hole 40A correspond to that of each first fixing hole 28, thereby permitting easy manufacturing and easy assembly.

[0096] The tightening portion 56A of each second coupling member 48A is coupled with a respective one of the second fixing holes 40A of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39. The flexible section 58A of each tightening portion 56A is received in the first portion 40B of the respective one of the second fixing holes 40A, and the stop section 60A of each tightening portion 56A is received in the second portion 40C of the respective one of the second fixing holes 40A. The abutting face 54A of each coupling member 48A abuts a respective one of the inner faces 40 of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39. The coupling portion 50A of each second coupling member 48A is located outside of a respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39 and protrudes beyond the respective one of the inner faces 40 of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39. Since both the cross-sectional shape of each second fixing hole 40A and the cross-sectional view of each second coupling  member 48A are non-circular, each second coupling member 48A cannot rotate relative to the respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39 after each second coupling member 48A is coupled with the respective one of the second fixing holes 40A. Furthermore, the hole diameter of the first portion 40B is different from the hole diameter of the second portion 40C, such that each second coupling member 48A can be accurately installed in the correct angular position. Furthermore, the second coupling members 48A on the third frame member 38 are aligned with those on the fourth frame member 39.

[0097] The receiving groove 52A of each second coupling member 48A receives a second fastener 99 which may be but not limited to a screw shown in the drawings. Each second fastener 99 extends into the fastener hole 53A of the respective second coupling member 48A. The flexible section 58A of each second coupling member 48A is pressed by a respective second fastener 99 to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with the inner periphery of the respective second fixing hole 40A, thereby securely fixing the second coupling member 48A to the respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39.

[0098] With reference to FIGS. 7-9, two ends 76 of each second beam 74 are respectively coupled with the coupling portions 50A of two second coupling members 48A (two aligned second coupling members 48A respectively on the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39 in this embodiment) , such that the second beams 74 are spacedly arranged on a side of the closure member 21 and located on an inner side of the frame device 20. Each second beam 74 extends through a respective first notch 72 of a respective first beam 64, and each first beam 64 extends through a respective second notch 82. Furthermore, each first notch 72 is coupled with a respective second notch 82. Thus, each first beam 64 cannot move relative to each second beam 74, whereas each second beam 74 cannot move relative to each first beam 64 (even without the first  connecting member 131 and the second connecting member 111) . The first connecting portion 139 of each first connecting member 131 extends through a respective first notch 72 and engages with the second connecting portion 119 of a respective second connecting member 111. Thus, in this embodiment, each second beam 74 is coupled with all first beams 64, providing a door / window device 10 having a grid pattern with a plurality of small rectangular openings. Since each first beam 64 is coupled with all second beams 74, the overall structural strength is enhanced. Furthermore, each second beam 74 is spaced from the closure member 21 by a small spacing to avoid noises resulting from collision between the second beams 74 and the closure member 21.

[0099] FIGS. 10 and 11 illustrate a door / window device 10 of a third embodiment according to the present invention. In this embodiment, fewer first beams 64 are used, and shorter third beams 64A are provided. An end of each shorter third beam 64A is coupled with one of the first fixing holes 28 of the frame device 20 in this embodiment.

[0100] In this embodiment, each shorter third beam 64A includes an engaging end 66A and a free end 66B. Except for the length, each third beam 64A may be the same as or similar to each first beam 64. Namely, each third beam 64A may include two lateral walls 70A connected by an interconnecting wall 68A therebetween. Each third beam 64A may further include at least one third notch 72A between the engaging end 66A and the free end 66B. Each third notch 72A extends through a portion of a length of the interconnecting wall 68A and a portion of each lateral wall 70A.

[0101] Each third notch 72A receives a respective one of the second connecting members 111. Each second arm 115 of the respective second connecting member 111 abuts a respective interconnecting wall 68A, as shown in FIG. 10. The two second wings 117 of the respective second connecting member 111 abut two edges of the respective third notch 72A on the two lateral walls 70A of the respective third beam 64A.

[0102] As a non-restrictive example, each third beam 64A is disposed between two first beams 64. The engaging end 66A of each third beam 64A is coupled with the coupling portion 50 of one of the first coupling members 48 on a respective one of the first and second frame members 22 and 23. Each third notch 72A of each third beam 64A is coupled with a respective second notch 82 of a respective second beam 74, such that the second connecting portion 119 of the second connecting member 111 in the third notch 72A is coupled with the first connecting portion 139 of a respective first connecting member 131. Thus, even though the free end 66B of each third beam 64A is without engagement with other members, each third beam 64A is still prevented from falling and movement. The shorter third beams 64A may have different lengths to provide the door / window device 10 with different patterns.

[0103] FIGS. 12 and 13 illustrate a door / window device 10 of a fourth embodiment according to the present invention. In comparison with the second embodiment, the fourth embodiment does not include the second connecting members 111 but includes a plurality of connecting members 131A similar to the first connecting members 131 in the first and second embodiments. Each connecting member 131A includes a bottom wall 133A and two arms 135A symmetric to each other and respectively extending from two opposite sides of the bottom wall 133A. Each connecting member 131A further includes two wings 137A respectively protruding from another two opposite sides of the bottom wall 133A. Each connecting member 131A further includes a connecting portion 139A located between the two arms 135A and the two wings 137A. In a non-restrictive example, the connecting portion 139A may be a snap fastener in the form of a hook having a central slit to provide two resilient pieces at a distal end thereof. It is noted that the flexing direction of each resilient piece of the connecting portion 139A of the fourth embodiment is perpendicular to that of the first connecting portion 139 of the second embodiment (see FIGS. 5 and 12) .

[0104] In this embodiment, each connecting member 131A is received in a respective one of the second notches 82. The two arms 135A of each connecting member 131A abut the interconnecting wall 78 of a respective second beam 74, as shown in FIG. 8. The two wings 137A of each connecting member 131A abut two edges of the respective second notch 82 on the two lateral walls 80 of a respective second beam 74, as shown in FIG. 13.

[0105] Furthermore, in this embodiment, an inner protrusion 71 protrudes from an inner face of each lateral wall 70 of each first beam 64 and may be in the form of a ridge. Each first notch 72 of each first beam 64 is free of the second connecting member 111. Thus, when each first notch 72 of each first beam 64 is coupled with a respective second notch 82, the connecting portion 139A of a respective connecting member 131A is coupled with two inner protrusions 71 of a respective first beam 64, thereby securely coupling each second beam 74 with each first beam 64.

[0106] The fourth embodiment may also employ the first beams 64 and the shorter third beams 64A of the third embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, which can be appreciated by one skilled in the art.

[0107] The technical features of the embodiments of the door / window device 10 according to the present invention have been set forth, and many advantages of the door / window device 10 according to the present invention would be understood from the description of the embodiments. Specifically, each first beam 64 can be easily and rapidly coupled with the frame device 20 via the respective first coupling members 48. Furthermore, no screws or any connecting structures are exposed to an outside of the door / window device 10 after assembly.

[0108] Furthermore, both the cross sectional shape of the tightening portion 56 of each first coupling member 48 and the cross sectional shape of each first fixing hole 28  are non-circular, such that each first coupling member 48 will not rotate relative to the respective one of the first and second frame members 22 and 23 after coupling.

[0109] Furthermore, since the maximum thickness of the flexible section 58 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is different from that of the stop section 60, the orientation of assembly can be assured after each first coupling member 48 is coupled with the respective one of the first and second frame members 22 and 23.

[0110] Furthermore, the flexible section 58 of each first coupling member 48 is pressed by a respective first fastener 62 to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with the inner periphery of the respective first fixing hole 28, thereby securely fixing the first coupling member 48 to the respective one of the first and second frame members 22 and 23. As a result, each first coupling member 48 is less likely to fall from the respective one of the first and second frame members 22 and 23.

[0111] Furthermore, each second beam 74 of the second, third, and fourth embodiments can be easily and rapidly coupled with the frame device 20 via a respective second coupling member 48A. Furthermore, no screws or any connecting structures are exposed to an outside of the door / window device 10 after assembly.

[0112] Furthermore, in the second, third, and fourth embodiments, both the cross sectional shape of the tightening portion 56A of each second coupling member 48A and the cross sectional shape of each second fixing hole 40A of a respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39 are non-circular, such that each second coupling member 48A will not rotate relative to the respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39 after coupling.

[0113] Furthermore, since maximum thickness of the flexible section 58A perpendicular to the longitudinal axis is different from that of the stop section 60A, the orientation of assembly can be assured after each second coupling member 48A is coupled with the respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39.

[0114] Furthermore, in the second, third, and fourth embodiments, the flexible section 58A of each second coupling member 48A is pressed by a respective second fastener 99 to flex outward to be in press-fit connection with the inner periphery of the respective second fixing hole 40A, thereby securely fixing the second coupling member 48A to the respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39. As a result, each second coupling member 48A is less likely to fall from the respective one of the third and fourth frame members 38 and 39.

[0115] Furthermore, in the second and third embodiments, each second connecting member 111 is coupled with a respective first beam 64 or a respective third beam 64A, and each first connecting member 131 is coupled with a respective second beam 74, such that the engagement between each second beam 74 and each first beam 64 and / or each third beam 64A is easier and more reliable.

[0116] Furthermore, in the third embodiment, the length of each third beam 64A is shorter than the first beams 64 and is shorter than the spacing between the inner faces 24 of the first and second frame members 22 and 23, and the shorter third beams 64A may have different patterns after assembly. Furthermore, each third beam 64A is securely coupled with one or more second beams 74.

[0117] Furthermore, in the fourth embodiment, the connecting member 131A is coupled with the two inner protrusions 71 of a respective first beam 64, such that the engagement between each second beam 74 and the respective first beam 64 are easier and simpler while reducing the manufacturing costs.

[0118] Now that the basic teachings of the present invention have been explained, many extensions and variations will be obvious to one having ordinary skill in the art. For example, the door / window device 10 does not have to include the closure member 21. In this case, the door / window device 10 in the closed state can still achieve separation of two spaces while providing a ventilation effect. Furthermore, the frame  device 20 may include the first and second frame members 22 and 23 and at least one first beam 64 connected between the first and second frame members 22 and 23. Furthermore, the number of the first beams 64, the number of the second beams 74, and the number of the third beams 64A may be varied according to need. For example, the door / window device 10 may include only one first beam 64, only one second beam 74, and optionally only one third beam 64A. In this case, the number of the first, second, and third notches 72, 82, and 72A may be varied accordingly. Furthermore, the first and second ends 66 and 67 of each first beam 64 may be coupled with any two of the first and second fixing holes 28 and 40A, such as two first fixing holes 28, two second fixing holes 40A, or a first fixing hole 28 and a second fixing hole 40A. Likewise, the two ends 76 of each second beam 74 may be coupled with any two of the first and second fixing holes 28 and 40A, such as two first fixing holes 28, two second fixing holes 40A, or a first fixing hole 28 and a second fixing hole 40A. Likewise, each third beam 64A may be coupled with any one of the first and second fixing holes 28 and 40A. Accordingly, the door / window device 10 may present any desired pattern.

[0119] Thus since the invention disclosed herein may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or general characteristics thereof, some of which forms have been indicated, the embodiments described herein are to be considered in all respects illustrative and not restrictive. The scope of the invention is to be indicated by the appended claims, rather than by the foregoing description, and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are intended to be embraced therein.
