[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2023-142324

[0005] According to the invention disclosed in FIG. 5 of Patent Document 1, the lid member is formed integrally with the hinge attached to the storage section and the lid body that covers the opening. In this case, if a material is selected to match the hinge, which is subject to a large load, the lid body will have more strength than necessary. On the other hand, if an inexpensive material is selected for the entire lid member, there is a risk that the hinge will not maintain sufficient strength. It would be preferable to be able to select materials appropriate for each part.

[0006] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a storage device that allows selection of materials suitable for each part.

[0007] According to the present disclosure, there is provided a storage device comprising: a storage section capable of storing luggage and having an open side; a hinge member attached to the storage section; and a lid supported by the hinge member and swingable to open and close the opening, wherein the hinge member has a lid support section extending radially from an axis that is the center of the swing and abutting the lid, and the lid extends radially from a hinge connection section that is connected to the lid support section, and a recess formed in a concave shape along the radial direction of the axis is formed at one end of either the lid support section or the hinge connection section, and a protrusion formed at the other end of the lid support section or the hinge connection section that protrudes toward the recess, and the protrusion is inserted into the recess.

[0008] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to provide a storage device that allows selection of materials suitable for each part.

[0009] 7 is a perspective view of a storage device according to Example 1. A cross-sectional view taken along line 2-2 in FIG. 1. A cross-sectional view taken along line 3-3 in FIG. 2. [0010] An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the description, left and right refer to the left and right relative to the occupant of a vehicle, which is an example of a vehicle on which the storage device is installed, and front and rear refer to the front and rear relative to the direction of travel of the vehicle. In the drawings, Fr indicates front, Rr indicates rear, Le indicates left from the occupant's perspective, Ri indicates right from the occupant's perspective, Up indicates top, and Dn indicates bottom. The embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings is an example of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited to this embodiment.

[0011] First Embodiment A first embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0012] Referring to Figure 1, the storage device 10 is, for example, a console box used between the driver's seat and the passenger seat of a vehicle. The storage device 10 has a storage section 20 capable of storing luggage and having an open top (one side), a hinge member 30 attached to the storage section 20, and a lid 60 supported by the hinge member 30 and swingable to open and close the opening of the storage section 20.

[0013] The storage section 20 is, for example, a one-piece molded product made of resin. The storage section 20 has a generally rectangular shape that is long in the front-to-rear direction and short in the vehicle width direction. Hereinafter, the direction along the front-to-rear direction of the vehicle may be referred to as the longitudinal direction of the storage section 20. The direction along the vehicle width direction may be referred to as the width direction of the storage section 20.

[0014] The storage section 20 has a bottom surface section 21 that forms the bottom surface, an upright surface section 22 that rises from the bottom surface section 21 and forms an upright surface, a hinge mounting section 23 that extends outward from the upright surface section 22 and on which the hinge member 30 is placed, and a positioning section 24 that positions the hinge member 30. The upper end of the upright surface section 22 is open. Hereinafter, the upright surface section 22 may be referred to as the outer peripheral surface 22.

[0015] 2 and 3, the hinge member 30 has a fixed portion 40 that is fixed to the storage portion 20, a swing portion 50 that is swingably attached to the fixed portion 40 and can support the lid body 60, a damper 33 (see FIG. 1) that is provided on the swing portion 50 and generates a damping force when a gear portion rotates, a round rod-shaped shaft member 34 that penetrates the fixed portion 40 and supports the swing portion 50, and springs 35, 35 that are provided to surround the shaft member 34 and bias the swing portion 50 in the direction of opening the lid body 60.

[0016] The fixed portion 40 is formed, for example, by a single-piece molded resin product. The fixed portion 40 has a fixed surface portion 41 that is fixed to the storage portion 20, side plate portions 42 that extend from the fixed surface portion 41 along the outer peripheral surface 22 of the storage portion 20 and sandwich the outer peripheral surface 22, and rack portions 44 that are formed in an arc shape centered on the axis CL and that engage with the damper 33.

[0017] 3 and 4 . The swing unit 50 is formed, for example, by a single-piece molded product made of resin. The material of the swing unit 50 can be different from that of the fixed unit 40. The swing unit 50 has left and right swing unit main bodies 51, 51 rotatably supported by the shaft member 34, and a lid support part 52 that connects these swing unit main bodies 51, 51 and is inserted into the lid 60.

[0018] The front end of the lid support portion 52 is a protrusion 52a that protrudes radially from the axis CL. A concave positioning recess 52b is formed at the tip of the protrusion 52a for positioning in the radial direction of the axis CL. A claw-shaped pawl 52c is also formed at the tip of the protrusion 52a. Second positioning recesses 52d are formed at both ends of the front end of the lid support portion 52 for positioning in the axial and circumferential directions. The second positioning recesses 52d are rectangular, bottomed holes that narrow toward the tip.

[0019] See Figure 3. The claws 52c and the positioning recesses 52b are alternately formed adjacent to each other with respect to the direction parallel to the axis CL. The claws 52c are configured so that their tips bend toward the center. The claws 52c bend when the lid 60 is pressed against the hinge member 30, and return to their original shape when the lid 60 is further pressed, preventing the lid 60 from coming off.

[0020] Also see Figure 5. The lid 60 extends on an extension line of the direction in which the lid support part 52 extends from the axis CL. In other words, the lid 60 extends in the same direction as the swing part 50, centered on the axis CL. The lid 60 has a hinge connection part 61 connected to the lid support part 52, a lid base part 62 extending forward from the hinge connection part 61, and a lid exterior part 63 covering the upper part of the hinge connection part 61 and the lid base part 62 and exposed to the inside of the vehicle cabin.

[0021] The front end (rear end) of the hinge connection portion 61 is a recess 61a formed in a concave shape along the radial direction of the axis CL. The rear end of the recess 61a is open toward the axis CL. The protrusion 52a is inserted into the recess 61a. The front, top, bottom, and side surfaces of the protrusion 52a are all surrounded by the recess 61a. In other words, the entire periphery of the protrusion 52a is surrounded by the recess 61a.

[0022] A positioning protrusion 61b is formed at the tip (bottom) of the recess 61a, protruding toward and in close contact with the positioning recess 52b. A fixing hole 61c is formed at the tip of the recess 61a for fixing the claw 52c. Second positioning protrusions 61d are formed at both ends of the tip (bottom) of the recess 61a, protruding toward the second positioning recess 52d. The second positioning protrusions 61d are rectangular pin-shaped portions that narrow toward the tip.

[0023] See Fig. 3. The fixing holes 61c and the positioning protrusions 61b are alternately formed adjacent to each other with respect to a direction parallel to the axis CL.

[0024] See Figure 6. The storage device 10 is assembled by attaching the hinge members 30 to the storage section 20 (hinge member attaching step), and then attaching the lid 60 to the hinge members 30 attached to the storage section 20 (lid attaching step). The lid 60 can be attached by sliding it along the direction in which the lid support parts 52 extend from the axis CL of the hinge member 30 (see Figure 5). In other words, the lid attaching step is performed by sliding the lid 60 along the direction in which the lid support parts 52 extend from the axis CL of the hinge member 30.

[0025] It is also possible to attach the lid 60 to the storage section 20 in a state in which the lid 60 has been attached to the hinge member 30 in advance. However, it is preferable to perform the hinge member attaching step before the lid attaching step, as this makes the assembly work easier.

[0026] Second Embodiment A second embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0027] 7 to 9 show a storage device 10A according to a second embodiment. In the storage device 10A according to the second embodiment, the arrangement of the claws 52c1, 52c2 and the fixing holes 61c1, 61c2 is different from that of the storage device according to the first embodiment (FIG. 3, reference numeral 10). The other basic configuration is the same as that of the storage device according to the first embodiment. The same reference numerals are used for the parts common to the first embodiment, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0028] The hinge member 30A attached to the storage section 20 has a swing section 50A attached to the fixed section 40 so as to be swingable. The swing section 50A supports a lid body 60A that can open and close the opening of the storage section 20.

[0029] The swing section 50A is formed, for example, by a single-piece molded resin product. The material of the swing section 50A can be different from that of the fixed section 40. The swing section 50A has left and right swing section main bodies 51, 51 rotatably supported by the shaft member 34, and a lid support section 52A that connects the swing section main bodies 51, 51 and is inserted into the lid 60A.

[0030] The cover support portion 52A has a protrusion 52a at its front end that protrudes radially from the axis CL. Claw-shaped claw portions 52c1 and 52c2 are formed at the tip of the protrusion 52a.

[0031] The claws 52c1, 52c2 are formed at three locations on the tip of the lid support portion 52A along the axis CL. Compared to the claws 52c1 formed at both ends of the lid support portion 52A, the claw 52c2 formed in the center is located closer to the axis CL. It can also be said that, based on the direction along the axis CL, the claws 52c1 farther from the axis CL and the claws 52c2 closer to the axis CL are alternately formed. In summary, it can be said that, based on the axis CL, multiple types of claws 52c1, 52c2 are formed with different distances to the axis CL.

[0032] The claws 52c1 and 52c2 may be formed on the cover 60A. Furthermore, the claws 52c1 at both ends may be formed such that the central claw 52c2 is positioned farther from the axis CL. Furthermore, when the claws 52c1 and 52c2 are formed at four locations, the claws 52c1 at both ends may be positioned farther from the axis CL, and the two central claws 52c2 may be positioned closer to the axis CL. Alternatively, the reverse may be possible. Furthermore, when the claws 52c1 and 52c2 are formed at four locations, the claws 52c1 farther from the axis CL and the claws 52c2 closer to the axis CL may be alternately positioned.

[0033] The cover 60A extends from the axis CL in the same direction as the cover support part 52A. In other words, the cover 60A extends in the same direction as the swing part 50A, centered on the axis CL. The cover 60A has a hinge connection part 61A that is connected to the cover support part 52A.

[0034] Fixing holes 61c1, 61c2 for fixing the claws 52c1, 52c2 are formed at the front end (rear end) of the hinge connecting portion 61A. The same number of fixing holes 61c1, 61c2 into which the claws 52c1, 52c2 are inserted are formed to match the positions of the respective claws 52c1, 52c2. The fixing holes 61c2 and the positioning protrusions 61b are alternately formed adjacent to each other with respect to the direction parallel to the axis CL.

[0035] When the claws 52c1 and 52c2 are formed on the cover 60A, the fixing holes 61c1 and 61c2 are formed on the swing portion 50A.

[0036] The storage devices 10 and 10A described above will be summarized below.

[0037] Referring to FIG. 5 , the storage device 10 includes a storage section 20 capable of storing luggage and having an open side, a hinge member 30 attached to the storage section 20, and a lid 60 supported by the hinge member 30 and swingable to open and close the opening of the storage section 20. The hinge member 30 has a lid support portion 52 extending radially from an axis CL, which is the center of the swing, and abutting against the lid 60. The lid 60 extends radially from a hinge connection portion 61 connected to the lid support portion 52 along the axis CL. An end of the hinge connection portion 61 is formed with a recess 61a that is recessed radially along the axis CL. An end of the lid support portion 52 is formed with a protrusion 52a that protrudes toward the recess 61a, and the protrusion 52a is inserted into the recess 61a. The same applies to the storage device 10A (see FIG. 7 ).

[0038] One of the ends of the hinge connecting portion 61 or the lid support portion 52 has a recess 61a formed in a concave shape, and the other has a protrusion 52a formed in a convex shape, with the protrusion 52a inserted into the recess 61a. This allows different materials to be used for the hinge member 30 and the lid 60. This makes it possible to provide a storage device 10 in which the appropriate material can be selected for each part. Furthermore, by constructing the hinge member 30 from a separate part from the lid 60, the hinge member 30 can be used in common with other types of storage devices, reducing parts costs.

[0039] Additionally, the hinge connection portion 61 and the lid support portion 52 both extend radially from the axis CL. The lid 60 can be attached to the hinge member 30 by sliding it along the radial direction, simplifying the assembly of the storage device 10. Furthermore, by adopting a configuration in which the lid 60 is inserted and connected in the radial direction, the lid 60 is less likely to come off the hinge member 30 even when a circumferential load is applied to the lid 60.

[0040] Also see Figure 3. Second, in the first storage device 10, the protrusion 52a is surrounded on its entire periphery by the recess 61a. This makes it more difficult for the lid body 60 to come off the hinge member 30 even when a load is applied to the lid body 60 in the circumferential direction. The same applies to the storage device 10A (see Figure 8).

[0041] Refer only to Fig. 3. Thirdly, in the first or second storage device 10, the tip of the protrusion 52a is formed with a positioning recess 52b that is concave to determine positioning in the radial direction of the axis CL, and the tip of the recess 61a is formed with a positioning protrusion 61b that protrudes toward and is in close contact with the positioning recess 52b. This makes it possible to easily attach the lid body 60 to the hinge member 30 in a more accurate position. Furthermore, it is possible to suppress rattling of the lid body 60 relative to the hinge member 30. The same applies to the storage device 10A (see Fig. 8).

[0042] Fourth, in the third storage device 10, claw-shaped claw portions 52c are formed at the tips of the protrusions 52a, and fixing holes 61c for fixing the claw portions 52c are formed at the tips of the recesses 61a. The claw portions 52c and fixing holes 61c, and the positioning recesses 52b and positioning protrusions 61b are alternately formed adjacent to each other. By alternately forming the claw-coupling portions with the positioning portions (positioning recesses 61a and positioning protrusions 52a), the claw portions 52c can be easily coupled to the fixing holes 61c. This makes it easy to assemble the storage device 10. The same applies to the storage device 10A (see FIG. 8).

[0043] 8. Fifth, in any of the first to fourth storage devices 10A, a plurality of claw-shaped claw portions 52c1, 52c2 are formed at the tip of the protrusion 52a, a plurality of fixing holes 61c1, 61c2 are formed at the tip of the recess 61a for fixing the claw portions 52c1, 52c2, and the length from one claw portion 52c1 to the axis CL is longer than the length from the other claw portion 52c2 to the axis CL. By forming the tip of the protrusion 52a (or the tip of the recess 61a in the case where the claw portions 52c1, 52c2 are formed in the recess 61a) in an uneven shape, the contact area can be increased, and the support rigidity of the lid 60A can be improved.

[0044] Sixth, in the fifth storage device 10A, the claws 52c1 on one side and the claws 52c2 on the other side are alternately formed in the direction along the axis CL, which can further increase the support rigidity of the lid body 60A.

[0045] It is also possible to form the end of the lid support portion 52 in a concave shape to form a recess, and the end of the hinge connection portion 61 in a convex shape to form a convex portion. It is also possible to form a positioning protrusion protruding from the tip of the convex portion 52a, and to form a positioning recess by recessing part of the bottom of the concave portion 61a. It is also possible to form a claw portion in the concave portion 61a, and a fixing hole portion in the convex portion 52a. In these cases, the same effects as those described above can be achieved.

[0046] As long as the functions and effects of the present invention as described above are exhibited, the present invention is not limited to the examples.

[0047] The storage device of the present invention is suitable for a console box mounted on a vehicle.
