Abstract
Description
MOTORIZED UMBRELLA DEVICE TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of sun protection devices, and more particularly relates to a motorized parasol device.
[0002] Motorized parasol devices are known such as those described in documents EP 4 309 540 A1 and WO 2007 / 147293 A1 for example. These motorized parasol devices comprise:- a parasol base comprising:a main tube extending in a first longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be arranged on or near the ground and a second end,a slide indexed in rotation in the main tube and movable in translation in the main tube in the first longitudinal direction between at least one retracted position, in which the slide is at a first distance from the second end, and an extended position, in which the slide is at a second distance from the second end, the first distance being less than the second distance, motorized means contained in the main tube and shaped to move the slide between its retracted and extended positions,- a parasol umbrella comprising: a secondary tube extending in a second longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be received in the main tube and a second end.,
[0003] In these motorized parasol devices, the parasol umbrella includes a ring attached and fixed to the main tube. The ribs of the parasol are articulated on the secondary tube which is designed to slide in the main tube and inseparable from the latter. The sub-ribs are articulated on the ribs on the one hand and on the ring on the other hand.
[0004] These devices therefore require a specific and complex umbrella. Such a ring and its attachment to the main tube are not provided on conventional parasol umbrellas, which are generally equipped with a ring arranged to slide along the secondary tube. In addition, accidental damage to the secondary tube renders them unusable or requires long, complex and expensive maintenance (when possible).
[0005] US 2006 / 151019 A1 describes another motorized parasol device. This device does not include a slider indexed for rotation in the main tube, but includes a nut fixed in a non-reversible manner to the first end of the secondary tube of the parasol umbrella. The parasol umbrella includes a ring fixed and indexed in a non-reversible manner on the second end of the main tube of the parasol base. Again, accidental damage to the secondary tube renders the device unusable or requires long, complex and expensive maintenance (when possible).
[0006] A problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a reliable motorized parasol device that is easy and quick to repair regardless of which part of the parasol is damaged.
[0007] At the same time, the present invention aims to provide a motorized parasol device that is less expensive to manufacture.
[0008] To achieve these and other objects, the invention provides a motorized parasol device comprising:- a parasol base comprising: a main tube extending in a first longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be arranged on or near the ground and a second end, a slide indexed in rotation in the main tube and movable in translation in the main tube in the first longitudinal direction between at least one retracted position, in which the slide is at a first distance from the second end, and an extended position, in which the slide is at a second distance from the second end, the first distance being less than the second distance, motorized means contained in the main tube and shaped to move the slide between its retracted and extended positions,- a parasol umbrella comprising a secondary tube extending in a second longitudinal direction between a first end intended to be received in the main tube and a second end; according to the invention: - the parasol umbrella comprises a ring arranged to slide along the secondary tube, capable of causing the parasol umbrella to unfold by being moved towards the second end of the secondary tube and of causing the parasol umbrella to fold by being moved towards the first end of the secondary tube, - the parasol device comprises first connecting means making it possible to reversibly secure the first end of the secondary tube to the slide, - the ring has an external cross-section shaped to allow the ring to come into abutment against the second end of the main tube.,
[0009] The umbrella of such a motorized parasol device is then similar to classic umbrellas, whose ring slides directly on a secondary tube.
[0010] In case of damage to the umbrella, thanks to the first connecting means which ensure reversible fixing, the secondary tube and the slider can be quickly and easily separated to remove the umbrella in its entirety, then replaced with a new umbrella just as easily.
[0011] To limit any risk of untimely opening by the wind and thus make its operation more reliable, the parasol device may advantageously include second connecting means making it possible to reversibly secure the ring of the parasol umbrella to the second end of the main tube.
[0012] Preferably, the parasol umbrella may comprise: - ribs pivotally articulated on the secondary tube in the vicinity of its second end and carrying a shade sail, said ribs being movable between a folded position, in which the ribs extend substantially along the secondary tube forming a first angle with the second longitudinal direction, and at least one deployed position, in which the ribs extend away from the secondary tube forming with the second longitudinal direction a second angle greater than the first angle, - sub-ribs pivotally articulated on a respective rib on the one hand and on said ring on the other hand, arranged so as to cause a movement of the ribs between their said at least one deployed position and their folded position when the ring slides along the secondary tube.
[0013] Advantageously, the first connecting means may comprise bayonet or screw coupling means. Such first connecting means allow the secondary tube to be secured to the slider by performing specific movements with little effort, but offer very high resistance against an attempt at untimely separation of the secondary tube and the slider (by simple translation of one away from the other).
[0014] Preferably, the bayonet coupling means may comprise:- at least one lug carried by the slide, extending radially away from the first longitudinal direction,- at least one slot with a longitudinal profile substantially in the shape of an “L” formed from the first end of the secondary tube, and of sufficient width to receive said at least one lug.
[0015] Advantageously, the motorized parasol device may comprise, in the vicinity of the second end of the main tube, means for guiding the secondary tube in the main tube with little play. Such guidance effectively limits the risk of damage.
[0016] Advantageously, the slider can be indexed in rotation in the main tube by cooperation of shapes between the outer cross-section of the slider and the inner cross-section of the main tube, preferably with at least one longitudinal rib provided inside the main tube and cooperating with at least one longitudinal groove provided in the periphery of the slider. Such indexing is reliable and simple to achieve.
[0017] Preferably, the motorized means may comprise:- an electric motor arranged inside the main tube and fixed in rotation and in translation relative to the main tube,- a threaded rod extending in the first longitudinal direction, coupled to the electric motor to be driven in rotation by the electric motor in two opposite directions of rotation.
[0018] Such motorized means are simple, reliable and compact.
[0019] The slider can advantageously be coupled by screwing onto the threaded rod of the motorized means. The rotation of the threaded rod thus allows the slider to be moved reliably, precisely and continuously between its retracted and extended positions.
[0020] In a specific embodiment of a motorized parasol device according to the present invention, the main tube may comprise a lower section and an upper section arranged telescopically, such that the lower section can be moved between at least one projecting position, in which the lower and upper sections have a first overlap in the first longitudinal direction, and at least one folding position, in which the lower and upper sections have a second overlap in the first longitudinal direction, the second overlap being greater than the first overlap.
[0021] With such an arrangement, the parasol umbrella can be maintained once deployed at a satisfactory height from the ground on which the motorized parasol device rests. It should be noted that such an arrangement is of interest even in the absence of first connecting means and with a ring secured to the main tube (as in the prior documents EP 4 309 540 A1 and WO 2007 / 147293 A1 for example). Such an arrangement may thus be the subject of independent protection by filing an independent patent application, even in the absence of first reversible connecting means and in the presence of a ring secured to the main tube.
[0022] In a first variant of said specific embodiment of the motorized parasol device, it can be provided that:- a movement of the slider towards its retracted position is carried out simultaneously with a movement of the lower section towards its folded position, and- a movement of the slider towards its extended position is carried out simultaneously with a movement of the lower section towards its projecting position.
[0023] With such an arrangement, the motorized parasol device has an overall length that is permanently constant: the movement of the lower main tube section relative to the upper main tube section compensates at all times for the movement of the secondary tube relative to the main tube. This is particularly useful when the operating environment offers limited height (for example when used on a balcony which is itself overlooked by another balcony): if the motorized parasol device remains in height when the parasol umbrella is extended, it will also remain so when it is folded.
[0024] To do this, it is advantageous to provide in practice a simple and reliable structure in which:- the motorized means comprise an electric motor arranged inside the main tube and fixed in rotation and in translation relative to the main tube,- the motorized means comprise a threaded rod extending in the first longitudinal direction, coupled to the electric motor to be driven in rotation by the electric motor in two opposite directions of rotation,- the slider is coupled by screwing onto the threaded rod of the motorized means,- the slider is coupled to the lower section of the main tube, so that a translation of the slider relative to the main tube causes a translation of the lower section of the main tube relative to the upper section of the main tube.
[0025] Preferably, it can be provided that:- at least one radial passage is provided between the electric motor and the upper section of the main tube,- at least one coupling rod extends from the lower section of the main tube to the slider, passing through said at least one radial passage.
[0026] This allows the lower section of the main tube to be coupled to the slider simply and reliably.
[0027] In a second variant of said specific embodiment of the motorized parasol device, it can be provided that:- a movement of the slide towards its extension position is carried out prior to a movement of the lower section towards its projecting position, and- a movement of the lower section towards its folding position is carried out prior to a movement of the slide towards its retracted position.
[0028] The user can then freely adjust the overall height of the motorized parasol device once the parasol umbrella has been deployed.
[0029] For this second variant, it is advantageous to provide in practice a simple and reliable structure in which:- the motorized means comprise an electric motor arranged inside the main tube and fixed in rotation and in translation relative to the main tube,- the motorized means comprise a threaded rod extending in the first longitudinal direction, coupled to the electric motor to be driven in rotation by the electric motor in two opposite directions of rotation,- the slide is arranged to slide freely in the main tube,- the motorized means comprise a nut element indexed in rotation in the main tube and cooperating by screwing with the threaded rod to be moved reciprocally in the main tube in the first longitudinal direction according to a translational stroke,- the parasol device comprises first coupling means, integral with the slide, configured to selectively secure the nut element to the slider so that the slider can be moved between its retracted and extended positions by the movement of the nut element during a first section of translational travel in the main tube, - the parasol device comprises second coupling means, secured to the lower section of the main tube, configured to selectively secure the nut element to the lower section of the main tube so that the lower section of the main tube can be moved between its retracted and projecting positions by the movement of the nut element during a second section of translational travel in the main tube, the second section of travel being distinct from the first section of travel.,
[0030] To couple the lower section of the main tube to the second coupling means in a simple and reliable manner, it can advantageously be provided that:- at least one radial passage is provided between the electric motor and the upper section of the main tube,- at least one coupling rod extends from the lower section of the main tube to the second coupling means, passing through said at least one radial passage.
[0031] Preferably, stop means may limit the overlap between the lower and upper sections of the main tube. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0055] When identical reference numerals are used in several figures, embodiments or variations of the invention, these reference numerals designate identical or similar elements in each of the figures, embodiments or variations.
[0056] Figures 1 to 12, 13 to 15 and 16 to 22 respectively illustrate three embodiments of motorized parasol devices 1. The first embodiment of motorized parasol device 1 will first be described in detail with the aid of Figures 1 to 12, before explaining the particularities distinguishing the second and third embodiments illustrated in Figures 13 to 15 on the one hand and 16 to 22 on the other hand from the first embodiment.
[0057] The first embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1 is more particularly illustrated in Figures 1 to 12.
[0058] In these figures 1 to 12, the motorized parasol device 1 comprises a parasol base 2 and a parasol umbrella 3.
[0059] The parasol base 2 comprises: - a main tube 4 extending in a first longitudinal direction II between a first end 4a intended to be arranged on or near the ground and a second end 4b (see in particular), - a slider 5 indexed in rotation in the main tube 4 and movable in translation in the main tube 4 in the first longitudinal direction II (in a bidirectional movement illustrated by the arrow 6 on the) between at least one retracted position (), in which the slider 5 is at a first distance D1 from the second end 4b, and an extended position (), in which the slider 5 is at a second distance D2 from the second end 4b, the first distance D1 being less than the second distance D2, - motorized means 7 (figures 2, 11 and 12) contained in the main tube 4 and shaped to move the slider 5 between its retracted () and extended () positions.
[0060] The parasol umbrella 3 () comprises: - a secondary tube 8 extending in a second longitudinal direction II-II between a first end 8a intended to be received in the main tube 4 and a second end 8b, - a ring 9 arranged to slide along the secondary tube 8, capable of causing the parasol umbrella 3 to unfold by being moved towards the second end 8b of the secondary tube 8 (which results in the parasol umbrella 3 unfolded in figures 1 and 11) and of causing the parasol umbrella 3 to fold by being moved towards the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8 (which results in the parasol umbrella 3 folded in figures 3 and 12).
[0061] When the secondary tube 8 of the parasol umbrella 3 is slidably engaged in the main tube 4 of the parasol base 2, the first II and second II-II longitudinal directions are merged.
[0062] More specifically, the ring 9 slides directly along the secondary tube 8.
[0063] The ring 9 has an external cross-section shaped to allow the ring 9 to come into abutment against the second end 4b of the main tube 4, as is more particularly illustrated in Figures 4 and 5.
[0064] As is more particularly visible in Figures 1 and 3 to 5, the parasol umbrella 3 comprises ribs 10 pivotally articulated on the secondary tube 8 in the vicinity of its second end 8b. The ribs 10 are intended to carry a shade sail (which is not shown here in order to facilitate the reader's understanding of the figures). The ribs 10 are movable between a folded position (), in which the ribs 10 extend substantially along the secondary tube 8 forming a first angle A1 with the second longitudinal direction II-II, and at least one deployment position (), in which the ribs 10 extend away from the secondary tube 8 forming a second angle A2, greater than the first angle A1, with the second longitudinal direction II-II.
[0065] Sub-ribs 11 are pivotally articulated on a respective rib 10 on the one hand and on said ring 9 on the other hand, arranged so as to cause a movement of the ribs 10 between their said at least one deployment position () and their said retracted position () during the sliding of the ring 9 along the secondary tube 8.
[0066] The parasol device 1 comprises first connecting means 12 making it possible to reversibly secure the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8 to the slider 5. The first connecting means 12 are more particularly visible in Figures 6 to 8.
[0067] Here, the first connecting means 12 comprise bayonet coupling means comprising:- two lugs 13a and 13b (diametrically opposed) carried by the slide 5, extending radially away from the first longitudinal direction II,- two slots 14a and 14b (the slot 14b is hidden on the) with a longitudinal profile substantially in the shape of an “L” formed from the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8, and of sufficient width to receive the lugs 13a and 13b respectively.
[0068] It can be seen more specifically in Figures 7 and 8 that the slider 5 comprises a base body 5a on which is provided a pusher 5b arranged to slide in the first longitudinal direction II, and which is permanently returned towards the lugs 13a and 13b by a helical spring 15 (elastic return means other than a helical spring are however conceivable).
[0069] The operation of the first connecting means 12 is more particularly explained by means of the.
[0070] In a first step 10(a), the first end 8a of the secondary tube 8 is brought closer to the slider 5, with the opening of the slots 14a and 14b respectively located in alignment with the lugs 13a and 13b, until it comes into contact with the pusher 5b (step 10(b)). The helical spring 15 provides sufficient resistance to keep the pusher 5b in contact with the lugs 13a and 13b despite the weight of the parasol 3.
[0071] The user then applies a push to the parasol umbrella 3, illustrated by the arrow 16, so as to reach the position of step 10(c) in which the lugs 13a and 13b have penetrated into the longitudinal sections of the slots 14a and 14b by sliding the pusher 5b away from the lugs 13a and 13b. The helical spring 15 is thus compressed.
[0072] While maintaining his pushing force (arrow 16), the user then applies to the parasol umbrella 3 a rotation illustrated by the arrow 17 until reaching the position of step 10(d), causing the lugs 13a and 13b to penetrate into the transverse sections of the slots 14a and 14b. The user then releases his pushing force, which allows the pusher 5b to be pushed back towards the lugs 13a and 13b by the helical spring 15: the first connecting means 12 with bayonet coupling means are then engaged (step 10(e)) and secure the parasol umbrella 3 to the slider 5. This securing is reversible by carrying out reverse maneuvers between the parasol umbrella 3 and the slider 5.
[0073] As an alternative to first connecting means 12 with bayonet coupling means, it is possible to use first connecting means 12 with screw coupling means (with an internal thread in the secondary tube 8 and an external thread on the base body 5a of the slide 5 for example).
[0074] It is observed more particularly in Figures 4 and 5 that the parasol device 1 comprises second connecting means 18 making it possible to reversibly secure the ring 9 of the parasol umbrella 3 to the second end 4b of the main tube 4. In this case, the second connecting means 18 comprise: - two hooks 19a and 19b (which are here diametrically opposed) arranged at the second end 4b of the main tube 4 and respectively pivotally articulated relative to the main tube 4 around two directions III-III and IV-IV which are perpendicular to the first longitudinal direction II - a hooking groove 20, formed in the periphery of the ring 9 and sized so as to receive the hooks 19a and 19b.
[0075] Preferably, the hooks 19a and 19b are permanently returned to their hooking position () by elastic return means such as springs or an elastic ring.
[0076] When the hooks 19a and 19b are engaged in the hooking groove 20 of the ring 9 (), they keep the ring 9 permanently in abutment against the second end 4b of the main tube 4.
[0077] As an alternative to pivoting hooks 19a or 19b, hooks may be provided which are elastically deformable radially towards and away from the first longitudinal direction II.
[0078] In Figures 2 and 4, it can be seen that, in the vicinity of the second end 4b of the main tube 4, there are provided guide means 21 for sliding the secondary tube 8 in the main tube 4 with little play. The guide means 21 are in the form of a sleeve 21a providing long guidance and centered guidance of the secondary tube 8 in the main tube 4 so as to make the first II and second II-II longitudinal directions coincide.
[0079] This is a cross-sectional view of the parasol base 2 taken along the section plane P1 illustrated in the. This shows that the slider 5 is indexed in rotation in the main tube 4 by cooperation of shapes between the outer cross-section of the slider 5 and the inner cross-section of the main tube 4. In this case, two longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b are provided inside the main tube 4 and cooperating with at least two longitudinal grooves 23a and 23b formed in the periphery of the slider 5.
[0080] It is observed more particularly that the motorized means 7 comprise: - an electric motor 24 arranged inside the main tube 4 and fixed in rotation and in translation relative to the main tube 4, - a threaded rod 25 extending in the first longitudinal direction II, coupled to the electric motor 24 to be driven in rotation by the electric motor 24 in two opposite directions of rotation.
[0081] In the first embodiment, the slider 5 is coupled by screwing onto the threaded rod 25 of the motorized means 7. To do this, the base body 5a of the slider 5 has a longitudinal through passage 26 (figures 7 and 8) internally threaded and cooperating by screwing with the threaded rod 25 (externally threaded).
[0082] The operation of the first embodiment of parasol device 1 is illustrated in Figures 11 and 12.
[0083] On the, the parasol umbrella 3 is folded (with the ribs 10 in the folded position). The slider 5 is then at a first distance D1 from the second end 4b of the main tube 4 (withdrawn position) while the ring 9 is secured to the main tube 4, in abutment against the second end 4b of the main tube 4.
[0084] To deploy the parasol umbrella 3, the motorized means 7 are controlled to rotate the threaded rod 25 so as to move the slider 5 to its extension position () in which the slider 5 is located at a second distance D2 from the second end 4b, the second distance D2 being greater than the first distance D1.
[0085] Such a movement of the slider 5 has the effect of increasing the penetration length of the secondary tube 8 into the main tube 4 and of causing the ring 9 to rise towards the second end 8b of the secondary tube 8. The movement of the ring 9 causes the ribs 10 to move towards their deployment position (): the position on which the parasol umbrella 3 is deployed is then reached.
[0086] In this first embodiment, when the parasol umbrella 3 is deployed, the total length L of the parasol device 1 () is smaller than when the parasol umbrella 3 is folded. The total length L of the parasol device 1 is thus not constant during its use.
[0087] The second embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1 illustrated in Figures 13 to 15 differs from the first embodiment in that the main tube 4 comprises a lower section 40a and an upper section 40b, arranged telescopically (see) and thus having an overlap R between them. The lower section 40a can be moved between at least one projecting position (position 15(b) of the), in which the lower 4a and upper 4b sections have a first overlap R1 in the first longitudinal direction II, and at least one folding position (position 15(a) of the), in which the lower 4a and upper 4b sections have a second overlap R2 in the first longitudinal direction II, the second overlap R2 being greater than the first overlap R1.
[0088] The slider 5 is coupled to the lower section 40a of the main tube 4, so that a translation of the slider 5 relative to the main tube 4 causes a translation of the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 relative to the upper section 40b of the main tube 4.
[0089] In practice, it can be seen in the perspective figure 13 and in which is a sectional view taken along the transverse plane P2 that:- two radial passages 27a and 27b (diametrically opposed here) are provided between the electric motor 24 and the upper section 40b of the main tube 4,- two coupling rods 28a and 28b extend from the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 to the slide 5, passing through said radial passages 27a and 27b.
[0090] The coupling rods 28a and 28b are integral (hooked in this case) with the slide 5 (see).
[0091] Thus, in the second embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1: - a movement of the slider 5 towards its retracted position (position 15(a) of the) is carried out simultaneously with a movement of the lower section 40a towards its folded position (position 15(a) of the), and - a movement of the slider 5 towards its extended position (position 15(b) of the) is carried out simultaneously with a movement of the lower section 40a towards its projecting position (position 15(b) of the).
[0092] With such an arrangement, the motorized parasol device 1 has a total length L which is permanently constant: the movement of the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 relative to the upper section 40b of the main tube 4 compensates at all times for the movement of the secondary tube 8 relative to the main tube 4.
[0093] The third embodiment of the motorized parasol device 1 illustrated in Figures 16 to 22 differs from the second embodiment in that the slider 5 is arranged to slide freely in the main tube 4. The slider 5 no longer cooperates by screwing with the threaded rod 25, and more particularly here its base body 5a comprises a longitudinal through passage 26 which is smooth so as to slide freely along the threaded rod 25.
[0094] Another difference of the third embodiment of parasol device 1 with the second embodiment is that the motorized means 7 comprise a nut element 29 indexed in rotation in the main tube 4 and cooperating by screwing with the threaded rod 25 to be moved reciprocally in the main tube 4 in the first longitudinal direction II according to a stroke C in translation. The nut element 29 comprises an internally threaded longitudinal through passage 29a cooperating by screwing with the external thread of the threaded rod 25. The nut element 29 is indexed in rotation in the main tube 4 in the same way as the slide 5, that is to say by an interference of shapes between the longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b with longitudinal grooves 29b and 29c formed in the periphery of the nut element 29.
[0095] Another difference of the third embodiment of parasol device 1 with the second embodiment is that the parasol device 1 comprises first coupling means 31, integral with the slider 5, configured to selectively secure the nut element 29 to the slider 5 so that the slider 5 can be moved between its retracted and extended positions by the movement of the nut element 29 during a first section of travel C1 in translation in the main tube 4.
[0096] Another difference of the third embodiment of parasol device 1 with the second embodiment is that the parasol device 1 comprises second coupling means 32, integral with the lower section 40a of the main tube 4, configured to selectively secure the nut element 29 to the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 so that the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 can be moved between its folded and projecting positions by the movement of the nut element 29 during a second section of travel C2 in translation in the main tube 4, the second section of travel C2 being distinct from the first section of travel C1.
[0097] In practice, the second coupling means 32 are secured to the lower section 40a of the main tube 4 in a manner similar to that which has been described in connection with the second embodiment of the parasol device 1 (at least one radial passage 27a or 27b and at least one coupling rod 28a or 28b, as in FIGS. 13 and 14).
[0098] Thanks to these different characteristics, the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 operates in such a way that:- a movement of the slider 5 towards its extension position is carried out prior to a movement of the lower section 40a towards its projection position, and- a movement of the lower section 40a towards its folding position is carried out prior to a movement of the slider 5 towards its withdrawal position.
[0099] Thus, the third embodiment of parasol device 1 allows the user to deploy the parasol umbrella 3 in full (by moving from position 22(a) to position 22(b) of the) before being able to adjust, if desired, the total length L of the parasol device 1 by adjusting the length of the parasol base 2 by varying the overlap R between the lower section 40a and the upper section 40b of the main tube 4 (by moving for example from position 22(b) to position 22(c) of the).
[0100] The penetration of the lower section 40a into the upper section 40b is limited by stop means 36. Here, the stop means 36 comprise a shoulder 37 with a stop facet 37a oriented towards the second end 4b of the main tube 4 and against which the upper section 40b bears (positions 22(a) and 22(b)) when the overlap R is at its maximum (R2).
[0101] The nut element 29 comprises first 29d and second 29e undercut pins as well as first 29f and second 29g frustoconical lugs.
[0102] The operation of the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 will now be explained by means of figures 16 to 21. It should be noted that the strokes C1 and C2 illustrated in these figures are only explanatory and may have other lengths and proportions. In addition, the parasol umbrella 3 has been omitted in figures 16 to 21 so as not to hinder the reader's understanding. However, it must be considered in all these figures that the parasol umbrella 3 is integral with the slider 5 by means of the first connecting means 12 previously explained.
[0103] In the, the parasol device 1 is in position 22(a) of the, i.e. with the parasol umbrella 3 folded and the main tube 4 having a shortest length L4 (due to an overlap R between the lower 40a and upper 40b sections which is maximum R2). The slider 5 is in its retracted position, and the lower section 40a is in its folded position.
[0104] It can be seen more particularly that the first coupling means 31 receive the first undercut stud 29d in a housing 31a, which has the effect of securing the nut element 29 to the slider 5 so that the slider 5 can be moved in the first longitudinal direction II between its retracted and extended positions by the movement of the nut element 29 during a first section of travel C1 in translation in the main tube 4 according to the movement illustrated by the arrow 33.
[0105] To deploy the parasol umbrella 3, the user controls the motorized means 7 to rotate the threaded rod 25 in a first direction of rotation. The rotation of the threaded rod 25, thanks to its screwing cooperation with the longitudinal through passage 29a of the nut element 29, drives the nut element 29 according to the movement illustrated by the arrow 33. By the shape interference between the first undercut stud 29d and the housing 31a of the first coupling means 31, the movement of the nut element 29 causes a displacement of the slide 5 from its retracted position () to its extended position () according to the movement illustrated by the arrow 33.
[0106] Before reaching the extended position () of the slide 5, it can be seen in Figures 16 and 17 that the first coupling means 31 remain substantially centered between the longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b, and that the second undercut stud 29e of the nut element 29 enters a housing 32a of the second coupling means 32.
[0107] When the slide 5 reaches its extended position (), a first leaf spring 34 moves the first coupling means 31 transversely to make them enter a housing 220a formed in the rib 22a. The cooperation by interference of shapes between the housing 220a and the first coupling means 31 then makes it possible to block any translation of the first coupling means 31 in the first longitudinal direction II.
[0108] For their part, in Figures 16 to 18, the second coupling means 32 are engaged in a housing 220b formed in the rib 22b. The cooperation by interference of shapes between the housing 220b and the second coupling means 32 makes it possible to block any translation of the second coupling means 32 in the first longitudinal direction II.
[0109] The first coupling means 31 being integral with the slider 5, the slider 5 is thus immobilized longitudinally in its extended position (), and the parasol umbrella 3 is kept deployed. The second coupling means 32 being integral with the lower section 40a and the longitudinal rib 22b being integral with the upper section 40b, any translation of the lower section 40a relative to the upper section 40b is prohibited. The lower section 40a is thus immobilized longitudinally in its folded position. We are thus in position 22(b) of the.
[0110] By continuing to rotate the threaded rod 25 in the first direction of rotation, the nut element 29 continues its longitudinal movement in the main tube 4 according to the movement illustrated by the arrow 33 (). The transverse offset of the first coupling means 31 allows the first undercut stud 29d to escape from the housing 31a. Simultaneously, the transverse offset of the second coupling means 32 allows (from the step illustrated in the) the second undercut stud 29e to enter the housing 32a.
[0111] Continuing its movement illustrated by the arrow 33, the second frustoconical lug 29g enters a centering housing 32b of the second coupling means 32. The shape cooperation between the second frustoconical lug 29g and the centering housing 32b, combined with the movement of the nut element 29, causes a recentering of the second coupling means 32 between the longitudinal ribs 22a and 22b () against a second leaf spring 35: the second coupling means 32 are moved out of the housing 220b and are thus no longer immobilized in translation in the first longitudinal direction II.
[0112] A continuation by the nut element 29 of its longitudinal translation movement, according to the second section of travel C2 in translation in the main tube 4, allows:- a complete separation between the nut element 29 and the first coupling means 31 (the first undercut stud 29d comes completely out of the housing 31a),- a movement of the lower section 40a (integral with the second coupling means 32) from its folded position (position 22(a) and 22(b) of the) towards its projecting position (position 22(c) of the).
[0113] When the nut element 29 has completed the entire second stroke section C2, the nut element 29 is in position 1a, and the parasol device 1 is in position 22(c) of the with the parasol umbrella 3 held extended and the lower section 40a immobilized longitudinally in its projecting position. The parasol device 1 has a total length L which is identical in positions 22(a) and 22(c). However, it is possible to choose a projecting position of the lower section 40a providing a total length less than the length L (the largest) but greater than the length L' (position 22(b) of the) or a projecting position of the lower section 40a providing a total length greater than the length L of position 22(a).
[0114] A reverse operation of the parasol device 1 (to fold the parasol umbrella 3) will now be explained, but more briefly.
[0115] When the user wishes to fold the parasol umbrella 3, he controls the motorized means 7 to rotate the threaded rod 25 in the second direction of rotation (opposite to the first direction of rotation).
[0116] The nut element 29 then moves according to the movement illustrated by the arrow 30 (), carrying with it the second coupling means 32 via the second undercut stud 29e. The lower section 40a then moves from its projecting position to its folded position.
[0117] When the lower section 40a reaches its folded position (), the upper section 40b comes to bear against the stop facet 37a of the stop means 36. The second leaf spring 35 decenters the second coupling means 32 (which is authorized by the second frustoconical lug 29g by withdrawing from the centering housing 32b). The second coupling means 32 are then received in the transverse housing 220b, so that the lower section 40a is held in the folded position.
[0118] Concomitantly, the first undercut nipple 29d enters the housing 31a while the second undercut nipple 29e exits the housing 32a.
[0119] A continuation of its movement (arrow 30) by the nut element 29 causes the first frustoconical lug 29g to engage in the centering housing 31b: the first coupling means 31 are recentered between the ribs 22a and 22b and come out of the transverse housing 220a. The nut element 29 is then coupled to the first coupling means 31 (and therefore to the slider 5) by the first undercut stud 29d and the housing 31a, and can move the slider 5 from its extended position to its retracted position so as to fold the parasol 3. The cooperation between the first undercut stud 29d and the housing 31a prevents the slider 5 from being moved beyond its retracted position.
[0120] Thus, the third embodiment of the parasol device 1 operates in such a way that:- a movement of the slider 5 towards its extended position is carried out prior to a movement of the lower section 40a towards its projecting position, and- a movement of the lower section 40a towards its folded position is carried out prior to a movement of the slider 5 towards its withdrawn position.
[0121] In Figures 16 to 21, a movement of the first 31 and second 32 coupling means into and out of the respective housings 220a and 220b is effected by translation away from and towards the first longitudinal direction II. However, it is possible to provide, as an alternative, a rotational movement of the first 31 and second 32 coupling means about the first longitudinal direction II.
