Abstract

A contact lens care solution for inhibiting corneal hypoxia injury and corneal neovascularization. The contact lens care solution comprises the following components: withaferin A, disodium edetate, a solubilizer, a thickener, an antimicrobial agent, a tonicity adjuster, and a pH-adjusting agent in an appropriate amount, with the balance being water for injection. The preparation method specifically comprises the following steps: step 1: weighing withaferin A and a solubilizer, mixing and thoroughly stirring same until a uniform mixed solution is obtained for later use; step 2: weighing disodium edetate, a thickener, a pH-adjusting agent, a tonicity adjuster and an antimicrobial agent in the weight-to-volume ratio, heating same in a water bath at 60°C under stirring until a clear and transparent solution is obtained, and then cooling the solution to room temperature; step 3: adding the mixed solution from step 1 to the solution from step 2, and making up to the volume with water for injection to prepare a contact lens care solution; and step 4: sterilizing the prepared care solution by means of filtration through a 0.22 μm microporous filter membrane, and performing aseptic packaging. The contact lens care solution has a good solubility, can alleviate corneal tissue hypoxia and corneal neovascularization caused by contact lens wear, and exhibits preventive and health-care effects.
