Description

[0001] A PRESS BRAKE MACHINE

[0002] FIELD OF INVENTION

[0003] The invention relates to a press brake machine for bending sheet metal between an upper jaw and a lower jaw.

[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Press brake machines are used for bending sheet metal. In general, press brakes have a lower jaw that is fixed between two side walls and an upper jaw that can move closer and further away from said lower jaw. The lower jaw is connected to the front edge of the sidewall, while the upper jaw, which is provided in its upper neighborhood, is also mounted on the sidewall and is moved towards the lower jaw by a drive element. In the said configurations, there are discharges provided in the side wall adjacent to the axis of bending where the lower jaw and upper jaw meet. The said discharges facilitate the insertion of parts between the lower jaw and upper jaw and allow the bending of parts up to the width of the lower jaw. However, in the said structure, the part hits the side wall while being extended inwards without discharging. Therefore, if the part is wide enough to enter the discharges, it can only be bent to the depth of the discharge.

[0006] On the other hand, as the upper jaw is pushed towards the lower jaw during bending, the side walls from the part where the upper jaw is attached are also deformed upwards. In other words, in the said configuration, the side wall is provided in a C-like form and the upper arm of the C form flexes upwards with the forces generated during bending. This stretching causes a loss of bending precision. In order to eliminate this problem, the width of the side wall is increased to increase the strength.

[0007] As a result, all the above-mentioned problems, have made it imperative to innovate in the relevant technical field. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The present invention relates to a press brake machine for eliminating the above- mentioned disadvantages and bringing new advantages to the relevant technical field.

[0009] The object of the invention is to provide a press brake machine with reduced weight and production cost.

[0010] In order to realize all of the above mentioned objects and the objects which are to be deducted from the detailed description below, the present invention relates to a press brake machine provided between two side walls, having a lower jaw and an upper jaw which can approach and move away from said lower jaw by means of a movement received from a drive element.

[0011] Accordingly, each side wall comprises a front portion at the front of the direction of extension of a bending axis defined at the junction of the lower jaw and the upper jaw, a rear portion at the rear, and a center discharge provided as an opening between the front portion and the rear portion, and the drive element is positioned within said center discharge. Thus, prevents the side walls from deforming during the bending process and prevents the upper jaw from changing the direction of movement and ensures bending precision. At the same time, the side walls can be made narrower, reducing overall weight and cost.

[0012] In another preferred embodiment of the subject matter invention, a drive axis along which a drive arm of the drive element moves is provided in the extension plane of the side wall. Thus, prevents a moment that would cause the side walls to bend during bending. At the same time, the parts can be bent to any desired depth in the width of the distance between the side walls.

[0013] In another preferred embodiment of the subject matter invention, the drive axis is provided at the line of intersection of the extension planes of the lower jaw and upper jaw and the extension plane of the side wall. In another preferred embodiment of the subject matter invention, the drive element comprises at least one connection plate for connection to the side wall.

[0014] In another preferred embodiment of the subject matter invention, the connecting plate is provided on both sides of the side wall for holding the drive element on both sides. Thus, the drive element is rigidly and stably fixed.

[0018] Figure 3 shows a representative side view of a probable embodiment of press brake machine which is the subject of the invention.

[0019] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBABLE EMBODIMENT(S)

[0020] In this detailed description, the present invention press brake machine (10) is explained with references to examples without forming any restrictive effect in order to make the subject more understandable.

[0021] The present invention press brake machine (10) has an upper jaw (20) and a lower jaw (30). At least one side wall (40) is provided on each side of the press brake machine (10). The said lower jaw (30) and upper jaw (20) lie between the side walls (40).

[0022] The said side wall (40) is provided in the form of a flat plate. There is a center discharge (43) provided in the form of an opening on the side wall (40). The central discharge (43) partially extends downwards starting from an upper edge (44) of the side wall (40). The center discharge (43) is provided at the intersection of the plane where the lower jaw (30) and upper jaw (20) are located and the side wall (40). There is a drive element (50) located inside the center discharge (43). The drive element (50) is in one possible embodiment a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder. Said drive element (50) has a drive arm (51). Said drive arm (51 ) moves on a drive axis (a). The drive arm (51) is also connected to the upper jaw (20). The upper jaw (20) can move closer to and further away from the lower jaw (30) when the drive element (50) pushes the drive arm (51).

[0023] At least one connecting plate (60) is provided to ensure that the drive element (50) is held securely in the center discharge (43). The said connecting plate (60) is provided in a plurality in a possible embodiment and is connected on both sides of the side wall (40) and secures the drive element (50).

[0024] In the aforementioned embodiment, the axis of movement of the drive arm (51 ) also coincides with the intersection line of the planes in which the side wall (40) extends and the planes in which the upper jaw (20) extends. In other words, the upper jaw (20) is driven at the intersection of the plane in which the upper jaw (20) extends and the plane in which the side wall (40) extends. Therefore, since the drive axis (a) where the drive force is applied and the plane of the side wall (40) coincide, no bending force is applied to the side wall (40).

[0025] The drive element (50) is provided in the central part of the side wall (40) by means of the said configuration. The center discharge (43) in which the drive element (50) is positioned is defined as a front part (42) on one side and a rear part (41) on the other side. According to the said structure, a bending axis (x), where the upper jaw (20) and the lower jaw (30) meet, extends through the center discharge (43). Therefore, the front part (42) of the side wall (40) is on one side of the bending axis (x) while the rear part (41) is on the other side. In this way, the forces acting on the side wall (40) during bending are absorbed from both sides of the bending axis (x). Therefore, the side wall (40) is prevented from deforming during bending.

[0026] Thanks to the said configurations of the present invention press brake machine (10), the side wall (40) and therefore the machine are prevented from changing form during the operation. This makes it possible to make the side wall (40) narrower and / or thinner compared to the previous technique. This means that the total weight and cost of the press brake machine (10) is reduced.

[0027] In addition, thanks to the said configurations, the shear forces on the joint parts of the press brake machine (10) are reduced and therefore it becomes possible to use bolt-like fasteners for the joint of the machine. On the other hand, the present invention press brake machine (10) can bend at any desired depth at a distance between the side walls (40). The protection scope of the present invention is set forth in the annexed claims and cannot be restricted to the illustrative disclosures given above, under the detailed description. It is because a person skilled in the relevant art can obviously produce similar embodiments in the light of the foregoing disclosures, without departing from the main principles of the present invention.
