Some users may secure cargo to the cargo area with rope or straps. Other users may install a panel structure to one or more walls of the cargo area, and then secure the cargo to the panel structure. An example of a panel structure is illustrated and described in US 10,780,836 and US 2021 / 0138954. However, not all cargo is suitable for attachment to those types of panel structures. It may therefore be desirable to improve the current state of the art.SUMMARY
[0003] These teachings provide a vehicle bed side cargo panel device. More specifically, these teachings provide a panel structure configured for attachment to a cargo area of a vehicle. The vehicle may be a pick-up truck. In other configurations, the vehicle may be another type of suitable vehicle that has a cargo area that may find use having such a panel structure according to these teachings, such as a utility vehicle, boat, trailer, ATV, UTV, semi-truck, dump truck, camper, etc.

The one or more panels are configured to be attached to one or more parts of the cargo area of the vehicle. The one or more parts of the cargo area of the vehicle may include, but are not limited to the one or more walls, a floor, a tailgate, or any combination thereof. The oneor more walls may include one or more side walls (i.e., passenger and driver side walls), a front wall, and / or a rear wall or tailgate. The floor may be the portion of the cargo area that is surrounded by the one or more walls. In some configurations, the one or more panels may be attached to another structure and that structure is attached to one or more parts of the cargo area of the vheicle. For example, the one or more panels may be attached to a rail or other supporting member for a tonneau cover or bed cap, and the rail or other supporting member is attached to one or more parts of the cargo area of the vheicle.
