[0002] FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The invention relates to a burner for burning liquid fuel, the burner comprising a container for storing liquid fuel. The burner comprises an opening constituting a fuel inlet allowing filling of liquid fuel through the fuel inlet and into the container and an opening constituting a fire outlet allowing fire from burning liquid fuel in the container to be emitted from the container, the fire outlet possible also being the fuel inlet. The burner also comprises a closure for covering and uncovering at least one of the openings constituting the fuel inlet and the fire outlet, respectively.
[0004] Burners for liquid fuel are a normally a safe, easy and reliable way of having a fireplace indoor or outdoor. However, because of the liquid fuel being highly flammable, there is a risk of fire hazards when a user is to fill a burner, or a container for a burner, with liquid fuel. Therefore, most burners have warnings and special tools that the user must use when handling the burner or the container for the burner. However, it's up to the user to read, understand and obey the warnings, and it's up to the user to use the special tools.
[0005] A manufacturer of a burner cannot be sure that the user does so. There is a need for assuring that the user obeys the warnings and uses the special tools, without the doubt of whether user has read and understood the warning and the use of the special tools.
[0006] An object of the invention may be to provide assurance, both to the manufacturer and to the user, that handling of the burner is safe, without risk of fire hazard or other accidents because of warm parts of the burner being touched by the user.
[0007] An object of the invention may also be to provide an easy and reliable way to fill the burner, or a container for a burner, with liquid fuel without risk of liquid fuel being spilled and without warm parts of the burner or the container being touched by the user.
[0008] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The objects of the invention may be obtained by a burner for liquid fuel, the burner comprising a handlebar being attached to the container,
[0010] - the handlebar being displaceable in relation to the container between a first position preventing a user handling the container by means of the handlebar, and a second position allowing a user handling the container by means of the handlebar, - the handlebar, when in the second position, preventing the closure from being in the first position, that is, where the opening of the separate fuel inlet is not covered by the closure and
[0011] - the handlebar, when in the second position, maintaining the closure towards being in the second position, that is, where the opening of the separate fuel inlet is covered by the closure.
[0012] A handlebar which the user handles when handling the container of the burner assures that the user by nature will use the handlebar to handle the container and that the user will not touch other parts of the container when handling the container.
[0013] At the same time, because the handlebar displaces the closure to the closed position and maintains the closure in the closed position, when the user handles the container by the handlebar, there is neither a risk of fire still emitting from the container, nor a risk of liquid fuel remaining in the container being spilled during handling of the container.
[0014] Furthermore, because the handlebar is attached to the container and does not constitute a tool separate from the container and that a user must remember to use, the handlebar will by nature be used, because the handlebar already is attached of the container.
[0015] According to an embodiment of the invention, the handlebar is displaceable in relation to the container by a pivotal movement of the handlebar in relation to the container, the handlebar having a handle and at least one lever extending between the handle and the container, and the at least one lever being attached to the container by a hinge.
[0016] A handlebar being pivotable makes the sue of the handlebar easy and reliable to use because there is only one way that the handlebar can be used, that is by pivoting the handlebar between a first position and second position, and where the second position is where the user handles the container for removal from, and insertion into, the burner.

[0034] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
[0035] Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a burner for liquid fuel. The burner has a housing 1.
[0036] Inside the housing 1 a container 2 for liquid fuel (see, e.g., Fig. 2) is placed in a cavity of the burner. Liquid fuel is in the container 2 and when lit, fire emerges from the container 2, as illustrated. The housing 1 comprises a hatch 3, which is slidable sideways (see Fig.
[0037] 5 and 6). The hatch 3 has a transparent part, preferably made of heat resistant glass, so that it's possible to watch the fire inside the housing, even while the hatch 3 is closed.
[0038] Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a container 2 for liquid fuel when the container 2 is removed from the cavity in the burner. A handlebar 6 is attached to the container 2 so that a user by hand, as shown, may remove the container 2 from the cavity in the burner and reinsert the container 2 into the cavity in the burner. The container 2 is provided with safety features incorporated into the handlebar 6 and the closure 5, which will be explained in the following, so that the user cannot fill liquid fuel into the container 2, before possible fire emitting from the container 2 is extinguished, and so that liquid fuel cannot be spilled from the container 2 during a user's handling of the container 2.
[0039] In the embodiment shown, the container 2 has a rectangular configuration, with a bottom (not shown) and sidewalls extending from the bottom. Along a top 4 of the container 2, a closure 5, configured as a lid, is placed displaceable between an open position and a closed position, and vice versa. The handlebar 6 comprises a handle 7 extending laterally across the top 4 and the closure 5 of the container 2, and two levers 8 extending downward from the handle 7 to sidewalls (only one such sidewalls shown) of the container 2. The handlebar 6 is displaceable between a first, lowered position, see Fig. 3A and Fig. 3B, and a second, raised position, as shown in the figure and as shown in Fig. 4A and Fig. 4B. When the handlebar 6 is in the first, lowered position, a user may not and cannot handle the container 2 by the handle 7. When the handlebar 6 is in the second, raised position, a user may handle the container 2 by the handle 7.
[0041] Each lever 8 of the handlebar 6 is attached to a sidewall of the container 2 by a hinge 9 (only one such sidewall and one such hinge shown). The hinges 9 are welded, glued, brazed or in any other suitable manner attached to an outside surface of the sidewall. The hinges 9 are not attached by insertion through the sidewalls of the container 2, thereby eliminating risk of liquid fuel leaking from the inside of the container 2, through the hinge 9, to the outside of the container 2.

Claims
CLAIMS1. Burner for burning liquid fuel, the burner comprising a container (2) for storing liquid fuel, alternatively, the burner constituting a container (2) for storing liquid fuel,- the burner comprising an opening (10) constituting a fuel inlet allowing filling of liquid fuel through the fuel inlet and into the container (2), and comprising an opening (10) constituting a fire outlet allowing fire from burning liquid fuel in the container (2) to be emitted from the container (2), the fire outlet possible also being the fuel inlet,- the burner also comprising a closure (5), preferably a displaceable lid for covering and uncovering at least one of the openings (10) constituting the fuel inlet and the fire outlet, respectively, possibly covering and uncovering at the same time both the opening (10) constituting the fuel inlet and the opening (10) constituting the fire outlet,- the container (2) being insertable into a cavity of the burner, when liquid fuel has been filled into the container (2) and fire is to be lit in the burner, and the container (2) being removable from the cavity of the burner, when liquid fuel is to be filled into the container (2), and the closure (5) being displaceable between an open position and a closed position, and- with the proviso of the opening (10) constituting a fuel inlet, the closure (5) allowing or preventing filling of liquid fuel through the opening (10) and into the container (2) of the burner, depending on the closure (5) being in an open position or a closed position, or- with the proviso of the opening (10) constituting a fire outlet, the closure (5) allowing or preventing fire from being emitted from the container (2) and through the opening (10) of the burner, depending on the closure (5) being in an open position or a closed position, or- with the proviso of the opening (10) constituting both a fuel inlet and fire outlet, the closure (5) allowing or preventing filling of liquid fuel through the opening (10) and into the container (2) of the burner and allowing or preventing fire from being emitted from the container (2) and through the opening (10) of the burner, depending on the closure (5) being in an open position or a closed position, and the burner comprising- a handlebar (6) being attached to the container (2), the handlebar (6) being displaceable in relation to the container (2) between a first position preventing a user handling the container (2) by means of the handlebar (6), and a second position allowing a user handling the container (2) by means of the handlebar (6),- the handlebar (6), when in the second position, preventing the closure (5) from being in the first position where the opening (10) is not covered by the closure (5) and- the handlebar (6), when in the second position, maintaining the closure (5) towards being in the second position where the opening (10) is covered by the closure (5).

A burner according to claim 1, where the handlebar (6) is displaceable in relation to the container (2) by a pivotal movement of the handlebar (6) in relation to the container (2), the handlebar (6) having a handle (7) and at least one lever (8) extending between the handle (7) and the container (2), and the at least one lever (8) being attached to the container (2) by a hinge (9).

A burner according to claim 2, the at least one lever (8) capable of interacting with the closure (5) between the first position of the closure (5) and the second position of the closure (5), so that when the handlebar (6) is displaced from the first position of the handlebar (6) to the second position of the handlebar (6), the at least one lever (8) displaces the closure (5) from the open position of the closure (5) to the closed position of the closure (5).

A burner according to claim 3,- the at least one lever (8) capable of interacting with the closure (5) by part of a foremost edge of the lever (8) abutting a part of the closure (5), at least when the handlebar (6) and thus the at least one lever (8) being part of the handlebar (6) is displaced from the first position, and- the foremost edge of the at least one lever (8) displacing the closure (5) towards and into the second position of the closure (5), when the handlebar (6) and thus the lever (8), is displaced between from first position of the handlebar (6) to the second position of the handlebar (6).

A burner according to any of the preceding claims,- the closure (5) having at least one first part of an interaction element such as an extension of the closure (5), and the handlebar (6), preferably the at least one lever (8) of the handlebar (6), having at least one second part of an interaction element, such as the foremost edge of the lever (8), the at least one first interaction part of the closure(5) intended for interacting with the at least one second interaction part of the handlebar(6), and- the handlebar (6), when in the second position, by interaction between the at least one first interaction part of the closure (5) and the at least one second interaction part of the handlebar (6), maintaining the closure (5) in the second position of the closure (5) and preventing the closure (5) from displacing to the first position of the closure (5).

A burner according to any of the preceding claims, the burner having- a hatch (3) capable of preventing access to the handlebar (6) for at least preventing a user removing the container (2) from the cavity of the burner, and- the hatch (3) capable of allowing access to the handlebar (6) for allowing a user inserting the container (2) into, or removing the container (2), from the cavity of the burner,- the hatch (3) being displaceable between a closed position preventing the user handling the container (2) by means of the handlebar (6), and an open position allowing a user handling the container (2) by means of the handlebar (6), and- when the hatch (3) is displaced from the closed position to the open position, a joint mechanism is operated, displacing the handlebar (6) at least a partly from the first position of the handlebar (6) towards the second position of the handlebar (6), and- when the hatch (3) is in an open position, the displacement by the joint mechanism of the handlebar (6) allowing a user to grab the handle (7) of the handlebar (6) and allowing the user to displace the handlebar (6) to the second position of the handlebar (6),- the user thereby capable of removing the container (2) from the cavity of the burner.

Container (2) for liquid fuel, the container (2) comprising a an opening (10) constituting a fuel inlet allowing filling of liquid fuel through the fuel inlet and into the container (2), and comprising an opening (10) constituting a fire outlet allowing fire from burning liquid fuel in the container (2) to be emitted from the container (2), the fire outlet possible also being the fuel inlet,- the container also comprising a closure (5), preferably a displaceable lid for covering and uncovering at least one of the openings (10) constituting the fuel inlet and the fire outlet, respectively, possibly covering and uncovering at the same time both the opening (10) constituting the fuel inlet and the opening (10) constituting the fire outlet,- with the proviso of the opening (10) constituting a fuel inlet, the closure (5) allowing or preventing filling of liquid fuel through the opening (10) and into the container (2), depending on the closure (5) being in an open position or a closed position, or- with the proviso of the opening (10) constituting a fire outlet, the closure (5) allowing or preventing fire from being emitted from the container (2) and through the opening (10), depending on the closure (5) being in an open position or a closed position, or- with the proviso of the opening (10) constituting both a fuel inlet and fire outlet, the closure (5) allowing or preventing filling of liquid fuel through the opening (10) and into the container (2) of the burner and allowing or preventing fire from being emitted from the container (2) and through the opening (10) of the burner, depending on the closure (5) being in an open position or a closed position, and the burner comprising- a handlebar (6) being attached to the container (2), the handlebar (6) being displaceable in relation to the container (2) between a first position preventing a userhandling the container (2) by means of the handlebar (6), and a second position allowing a user handling the container (2) by means of the handlebar (6),- the handlebar (6), when in the second position, preventing the closure (5) from being in the first position, that is, where the opening (10) of the separate fuel inlet is not covered by the closure (5) and- the handlebar (6), when in the second position, maintaining the closure (5) towards being in the second position, that is, where the opening (10) of the separate fuel inlet (12) is covered by the closure (5).
8. A container (2) according to claim 7, where the handlebar (6) is displaceable in relation to the at least one sidewall of the container (2) by a pivotal movement of the handlebar (6) in relation to the at least one sidewall of the container (2), the handlebar (6) having a handle (7) and at least one lever (8) extending between the handle (7) and the at least one sidewall of the container (2), and the at least one lever (8) being attached to the at least one sidewall by a hinge (9).

A container (2) according to claim 8, the at least one lever (8) capable of interacting with the closure (5) between the first position of the closure (5) and the second position of the closure (5), and when the handlebar (6) is displaced from the first position of the handlebar (6) to the second position of the handlebar (6), the at least one lever (8) displacing the closure (5) from the first position of the closure (5) to the second position of the closure (5).

A container (2) according to claim 9, where- the at least one lever (8) is capable of interacting with the closure (5) by part of a foremost edge of the lever (8) abutting at least one of the following possible parts of the closure (5) at least one part provided as part of the closure (5): an edge, a recess, a slot or a groove of the closure (5), and- the foremost edge of the at least one lever (8) displacing an edge, a recess, a slot or a groove of the closure (5) towards the second position of the closure (5), when the handlebar (6) is displaced between the first position of the handlebar (6) and the second position of the handlebar (6).
11. A container (2) according to any of claims 7-10, the closure (5) having- at least one first part of an interaction element and the handlebar (6), preferably the at least one lever (8) of the handlebar (6), having at least one second part of an interaction element, the at least one first interaction part of the closure (5) intended for interacting with the at least one second interaction part of the handlebar (6), and- the handlebar (6), when in the second position, by interaction between the at least one first interaction part of the closure (5) and the at least one second interaction part of the handlebar (6), maintaining the closure (5) in the second position of the closure (5) and preventing the closure (5) from displacing to the first position of the closure (5).
