[0003] The present invention relates to holding device for a tray in a cooking compartment of a cooking appliance and to a cooking appliance and to a method for attaching a holding device for a tray in a cooking compartment of a cooking appliance.

[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005] For placing a tray in the cooking compartment a holding structure is needed to hold and / or guide the tray in or to a predefined position in the cooking compartment of a cooking appliance. In household appliances there is a need for functional and easy fixation possibilities of the holding bar structures for a tray inside the cooking compartment. The holding bars must be fixed to the inner sidewalls of the cooking compartment thereby keeping the openings for attaching the holding bars well sealed against heat and steam (if the cooking appliance provides a steam function). For known solutions of holding structures it is desired to find an improvement for the way of fixation under provision of a high sealing level at the openings in the interior side walls of the cooking compartment.

[0006] Document EP 3567315 A1 describes a rack system for a cooking appliance cavity which includes a first support unit including a plurality of rack support bars and a first connecting member defining a body portion having the support bars coupled therewith, a first end with a first post and a first stepped segment between the first post and the body portion, and a second end with a second post and a second stepped segment between the second post and the body portion. The system further includes first and second mounting blocks, each defining a channel and a notch extending intersecting with the channel such that a first portion of the channel is open and a second portion of the channel is enclosed. The first and second posts are respectively received in the second portions of the channels of the first and second mounting blocks.

[0007] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] It is an object of the invention to improve and simplify the fixation of the vertical bars of the holding device to a cooking compartment. Further, it is an object to keep an effective sealing regarding heat and steam of the interior of the cooking compartment at the regions where holding means and screw members are applied to sidewalls of the cooking compartment.

[0012] According to the invention the holding device for a tray in a cooking compartment of a cooking appliance comprises a front vertical bar and a rear vertical bar which are arranged parallel to each other and wherein the rear vertical bar is spaced apart from the front vertical bar by a predefined horizontal distance; at least one pair of horizontal guide bars for guiding the tray between them and along a horizontal direction, wherein the horizontal guide bars are fixedly connected to the front vertical bar and to the rear vertical bar; wherein the front vertical bar and the rear vertical bar each comprise an upper bent end region at their upper ends which is each bent from the vertical direction under a predefined angle (for example 90 degrees against the vertical direction) and the upper bent end region of the front vertical bar pointing towards the rear vertical bar or away from it and the upper bent end region of the rear vertical bar pointing in the same direction as the upper bent end region of the front vertical bar or in a different direction, and wherein the front vertical bar comprises a U-shaped end region at its lower end with the U-shape opened in the vertical direction, and wherein the rear vertical bar comprises a lower bent end region at its lower end which is bent from the vertical direction under the predefined angle and pointing in the same direction as the upper bent end region of the front vertical bar and away from the front vertical bar or in a different direction. Holding device (10) for a tray (tr) in a cooking compartment (CD) of a cooking appliance (CA), comprising:- a front vertical bar (V1) and a rear vertical bar (V2) which are arranged parallel to each other and wherein the rear vertical bar (V2) is spaced apart from the front vertical bar (V1) by a predefined horizontal distance (d-h);- at least one pair of horizontal guide bars (PI , P2, ...) for guiding the tray (tr) between them and along a horizontal direction, wherein the horizontal guide bars (PI, P2, ...) are fixedly connected to the front vertical bar (V1) and to the rear vertical bar (V2); wherein the front vertical bar (V1) and the rear vertical bar (V2) each comprise an upper bent end region (UBE1, UBE2) at their upper ends which is each bent from the vertical direction under a predefined angle and the upper bent end region (UBE1) of the front vertical bar (V1) pointing towards the rear vertical bar (V2) or away from it and the upper bent end region (UBE2) of the rear vertical bar (V2) pointing in the same direction as the upper bent end region (UBE1) of the front vertical bar (V1) or in a different direction, and wherein the front vertical bar (V1) comprises a U-shaped end region (U) at its lower end with the U-shape opened in the vertical direction, and wherein the rear vertical bar (V2) comprises a lower bent end region (LBE2) at its lower end which is bent from the vertical direction under the predefined angle and pointing in the same direction as the upper bent end region (UBE1) of the front vertical bar (V1) and away from the front vertical bar (V1) or in a different direction; and wherein the holding device (10) further comprises- a first upper holding means (F1) for resting the upper bent end region (UBE1) of the front vertical bar (V1) on and a second upper holding means (F2) for resting the upper bent end region (UBE2) of the rear vertical bar (V2) on, wherein the first upper holding means (F1) and the second upper holding means (F2) can be fixedly attached to an interior side wall (SW) of the cooking compartment (CD) and having a resting part (RP) for leaning the upper bent end region (UBE1, UBE2) on; and- a lower holding means (F3) for leaning the lower bent end region (LBE2) to, wherein the lower holding means (F3) can be fixedly attached to an interior side wall (SW) of the cooking compartment (CD); and- a screw member (SM) by which the U-shaped end region (U) can be fixedly attached to the interior side wall (SW) of the cooking compartment (CD) by screwing the screw member (SM) to the interior side wall (SW) thereby leaning a contact area of the screw member (SM) to the U-shaped end region (U).

Holding device (10) according to claim 1, wherein the first upper holding means (F1) and the second upper holding means (F2) and / or the lower holding means (F3) are each formed as a knob with a cross-section of rectangular or at least partly circular shape with a flat or circular resting surface of the resting part (RP) having a radius equal or smaller than a bending radius of the upper bent end region (UBE1, UBE2) of the front vertical bar (V1) or of the rear vertical bar (V2).

3. Holding device (10) according to claim 2, wherein the knob has a circular inner margin (IM) and a circular outer margin (OM) adjacent to and on opposite sides of the circular resting surface and each having a radius greater than the radius of the circular resting surface.

4. Holding device (10) according to any of claims 2 to 3, wherein the circular resting surface has an axial width of equal or greater than the diameter of the front vertical bar (V1) at its upper bent end region (UBE1).

Holding device (10) according to any of claims 1 to 4, further comprising a screw nut (SN) and a contact area for the U-shaped end region (U) which screw nut (SN) is attachable to the interior side wall (SW) of the cooking compartment (CD) and to which contact area the U-shaped end region (U) can be leaned.

6. Holding device (10) according to claim 5, wherein the contact area for the U-shaped end region (U) of the screw nut (SN) is formed as a seal for an opening in the interior side wall (SW) for sealing the interior of the cooking compartment (CD).

7. Holding device (10) according to any of claims 1 to 6, wherein the front vertical bar (V1) and the rear vertical bar (V2) have at least partly a cylindrical surface area.

8. Holding device (10) according to any of claims 1 to 7, wherein the predefined angle can be between 80 degrees and 110 degrees.

9. Cooking appliance (CA) comprising:- a cooking compartment (CD);- a first holding device (10) and a second holding device (10) each according to any of claims 1 to 8, which are arranged at sidewalls (SW) of the cooking compartment (CD) and inside the cooking compartment (CD).

10. Cooking appliance (CA) according to claim 9, wherein the cooking appliance is a built- in oven or a standalone oven.1 1. Method for attaching a holding device (10) for a tray (tr) in a cooking compartment (CD) of a cooking appliance (CA), comprising the steps:- providing (S1) a first and a second holding device (10) according to any of claims 1 to 8;- attaching (S2) a lower holding means (F3) and a first upper holding means (F1) and a second upper holding means (F2) to an interior side wall (SW) of the cooking compartment (CD);- pushing (S3) the front vertical bar (V1) towards the first upper holding means (F1) and the rear vertical bar (V2) towards the second upper holding means (F2) and resting the upper bent end region (UBE1) of the front vertical bar (V1) on a top side and rest-ing part (RP) of the first upper holding means (F1) and resting the upper bent end region (UBE2) of the rear vertical bar (V2) on a top side and resting part (RP) of the second upper holding means (F2) and hooking (S3a) the lower bent end region (LBE2) around a lower part of the lower holding means (F3) and thereby leaning the lower bent end region (LBE2) to the lower holding means (F3); and- attaching (S4) the U-shaped end region (U) fixedly to the interior side wall (SW) of the cooking compartment (CD) by screwing the screw member (SM) to the interior side wall (SW) thereby leaning a contact area of the screw member (SM) to the U- shaped end region (U).
