Description

Connector for shower hose

[0001] The present invention relates to a connector for a shower hose, and more particularly, to a connector for a shower hose that is installed in the middle of a hose connecting a faucet and a shower head to provide convenience to a user.

[0002] Typically, a shower consists of a shower head that sprays water through several holes, and a shower hose that has a certain length and has one end connected to the shower head and the other end connected to the faucet, forming a path for water to move from the faucet to the shower head. It is used to wash the body, as is commonly referred to as a 'shower'.

[0003] The faucet connected to this shower is usually installed at a certain height from the floor, and although there is a spout that discharges water directly to the floor in addition to the point where it is connected to the shower hose, it is located quite far from the floor, so there is a problem that a lot of water splashes around when trying to wash feet or objects using the spout.

[0004] Also, when using a shower to wash your feet or objects, you have to hold the shower head with one hand to avoid splashing a lot of water, which means you can't use both hands freely. In addition, if you want to use both hands freely and fix the shower head to a wall-mounted bracket, a lot of water will splash around, just like when using it through a spout.

[0005] To solve this problem, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2021-0157129 (hereinafter referred to as “cited invention”) discloses a technology that can utilize water discharged from an auxiliary discharge pipe provided close to the ground by separating the joint pipe, including an auxiliary discharge pipe having a first hose connected to a faucet at one end and a discharge port formed at the other end, and a connecting pipe having one end magnetically coupled to the auxiliary discharge pipe and a second hose connected to a shower head at the other end.

[0006] Recently, shower filters have been widely used for the purpose of removing impurities, rust, and residual chlorine in tap water. However, shower filters are configured to be installed inside the shower head, and when a hose connector such as the cited invention is applied, there is a problem in that water discharged from the auxiliary discharge pipe is discharged without passing through the filter.

[0007] The present invention is intended to solve the above-mentioned problems, and the purpose is to provide a shower hose connector that can prevent excessive splashing of water discharged onto the floor while allowing the free use of both hands, and that allows filtered water to be discharged not only when discharged from a shower head but also when discharged from the middle of the hose close to the floor.

[0008] To achieve the above object, the shower hose connector of the present invention comprises: a connector body having a tube shape, a filter member for purifying water provided on the inside, and a discharge port formed at the bottom; a first connection cover detachably coupled to the upper end of the connector body and having an inlet port formed therein to which a first hose connected to a faucet can be coupled; and a second connection cover detachably coupled to the connector body so as to surround the discharge port and to which a second hose connected to a shower head can be coupled.

[0009] In addition, the filter member may include an upper filter cap including a filter in a tubular shape and spaced apart from the inner surface of the connector body; an inflow water pressure control portion having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the connector body and at least corresponding to the diameter of the filter and formed convexly upward, a first filter coupling portion protruding downward from the inflow water pressure control portion and fitted to the inner upper side of the filter, a first fixing ring portion having a ring shape having a diameter larger than the diameter of the inflow water pressure control portion and having a step at the first connection cover coupled to the connector body so as to be in contact with a first fixing protrusion formed on the inner surface, and a first joint portion that connects the inflow water pressure control portion and the first fixing ring portion so that a plurality of filter inflow holes are formed radially on the outer side of the inflow water pressure control portion and hangs over the upper end of the connector body.

[0010] In addition, the connector body may further include a lower filter cap having a second fixing protrusion formed on the inner surface so as to have a step at a point adjacent to the discharge port, wherein the filter member has a second fixing ring portion in a ring shape, the lower end of the filter being in contact with the second fixing protrusion and supported by the second fixing protrusion, a second filter coupling portion protruding upward from the second fixing ring portion and fitted into the inner side of the lower end of the filter, a discharge water pressure control portion having a diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the discharge port and convexly formed upward and positioned downward from the second fixing ring portion at a predetermined interval to correspond to the center of the second fixing ring portion, and a second joint portion connecting the second fixing ring portion and the discharge water pressure control portion so that a plurality of filter discharge holes are formed radially between the second fixing ring portion and the discharge water pressure control portion.

[0011] In addition, the discharge port and the second connecting cover port are detachably connected through a protruding groove structure, wherein the protruding groove structure is formed by protruding from the outer surface of the discharge port or the inner surface of the second connecting cover port, and a plurality of connecting protrusions are arranged at regular intervals along the outer periphery of the discharge port or the inner periphery of the second connecting cover port; And a plurality of them are formed along the inner circumference of the second connecting cover or the outer circumference of the outlet so as to correspond to at least the connecting protrusions on the inner surface of the second connecting cover or the outer surface of the outlet where the connecting protrusion is not formed, and include a first guide groove portion that guides downward movement of the connecting protrusion inserted from the upper side, and a second guide groove portion that extends in one direction from the lower end of the first guide groove portion and guides the connecting protrusion moved downward to move in one direction; and the connecting groove; wherein the connecting protrusion is formed in a shape in which the lower portion is convex toward the lower side, and the first guide groove portion may be formed such that the edge spaced apart from the second guide groove portion is inclined downward in one direction.

[0012] In addition, the above-mentioned protrusion groove structure further includes a third guide groove portion connecting the upper edge of the first guide groove portion constituting one coupling groove adjacent to the second guide groove portion and the upper edge of the first guide groove portion constituting the other coupling groove spaced apart from the second guide groove portion, wherein the lower end of the third guide groove portion is formed to be convex toward the upper side, so that the coupling protrusion settled on the lower end of the third guide groove portion can enter the first guide groove portion formed on one or the other side of the third guide groove portion along the lower end of the third guide groove portion.

[0013] According to the present invention, not only can a second connection cover be coupled to a connector body to allow water to be discharged to the outside through a shower head, but the second connection cover can also be separated from the connector body to allow water to be discharged to the outside through a discharge port, so that water discharged close to the ground through the discharge port can be used to wash feet or objects placed on the floor, and both hands can be used freely while preventing excessive splashing of water discharged to the floor.

[0014] Additionally, filtered water is discharged not only when water is discharged from the shower head, but also when it is discharged close to the floor through the outlet, so purified water is always available.

[0026] The present invention proposes a shower hose connector, characterized in that it comprises: a connector body having a tubular shape, a filter member for purifying water provided on the inside, and a discharge port formed on the bottom, so that water can be discharged through a filter not only when discharged from a shower head but also when discharged close to the floor from the middle of a hose, while allowing the free use of both hands; a first connection cover detachably connected to the upper end of the connector body and having an inlet port formed therein to which a first hose connected to a faucet can be connected; and a second connection cover detachably connected to the connector body so as to surround the discharge port, so as to allow a second hose connected to a shower head to be connected thereto.

[0027] The scope of the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described below, and various modifications may be made by a person having ordinary knowledge in the relevant technical field without departing from the technical spirit of the present invention.

[0028] Hereinafter, the shower hose connector of the present invention is described in detail with reference to the attached drawings 1 to 12.

[0029]

[0030] The shower hose connector of the present invention includes a connector body (100) having a filter member (200) provided on the inside, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, a first connection cover (300) coupled to the upper part of the connector body (100), and a second connection cover (400) coupled to the lower part of the connector body (100).

[0031] The connector body (100) has a pipe shape as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 4, through which water can move downwards inside, and has a discharge port (110) formed at the bottom so that water moved downwards through the discharge port (110) can be discharged to the outside. The discharge port (110) is formed to have a predetermined length, and a discharge hole (111) at the bottom can be formed in various shapes such as a circle or a polygon. However, in order to minimize reverse water pressure when the second connection cover (400) is connected, it is preferable that the discharge port (110) be formed in a straight shape with a smaller outer diameter than the rest of the connector body (100) and a constant width, and the discharge hole (111) be formed in a cross shape.

[0032] The connector body (100) is provided with a filter member (200) for purifying water passing through the inside of the connector body (100). The filter member (200) may include a filter (210) and an upper filter cap (220) as shown in FIGS. 2, 3, and 5, and may further include a lower filter cap (230).

[0033] The filter (210) is in the form of a tube having a diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the connector body (100) and is placed on the upper side of the discharge port (110) so as to be spaced apart from the inner surface of the connector body (100), so that purification is performed during the process of water moving from the outside to the inside.

[0034] The upper filter cap (220) is coupled to the upper end of the filter (210) as illustrated in FIG. 3 and is fixed by the upper end of the connector body (100) and the first connection cover (300) coupled thereto, and may be configured so that water introduced through the first connection cover (300) moves to the outside of the filter (210). For example, the upper filter cap (220) may include an inflow water pressure control unit (221), a first filter coupling unit (222), a first fixing ring unit (223), and a first joint unit (224) as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6.

[0035] The inflow water pressure control unit (221) may be formed in a plate shape having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the connector body (100) and at least corresponding to the diameter of the filter (210), and the first filter coupling unit (222) may be formed to protrude downward from the inflow water pressure control unit (221) and be fitted to the inner side of the upper portion of the filter (210). The first fixing ring unit (223) may be formed to have a ring shape having a diameter larger than the diameter of the inflow water pressure control unit (221), and may be brought into contact with the first fixing protrusion (320) formed on the inner surface so as to have a step in the first connection cover (300) coupled to the connector body (100). In addition, the first joint unit (224) connects the inflow water pressure control unit (221) and the first fixing ring unit (223) so that a plurality of filter inflow holes (225) are formed radially on the outer side of the inflow water pressure control unit (221). At this time, the first joint (224) may be formed to connect the outer edge of the first fixing ring part (223) and the inflow water pressure control part (221) while forming an 'L' shape in the cross section, for example, and this first joint (224) may be hung over the upper end of the connector body (100). Accordingly, as shown in FIG. 6, the upper filter cap (220) has the first joint (224) seated on the upper end of the connector body (100) and the upper and outer sides of the first fixing ring part (223) come into contact with the first fixing jaw (320), so that the upper end of the filter member (200) can be stably and firmly fixed.

[0036] As described above, when water flowing into the first connection cover (300) toward the upper filter cap (220) moves downward, it does not immediately move between the filter (210) and the connector body (100), but as illustrated in FIG. 6, it comes into contact with the upper surface of the inflow water pressure control unit (221) and then moves outward, passes through the filter inflow hole (225), and moves between the filter (210) and the connector body (100), so that the water pressure flowing into the filter (210) can be reduced. In addition, the inflow water pressure control unit (221) may have a convex upper surface that faces upward, which allows water hitting the inflow water pressure control unit (221) to flow smoothly into the filter inflow hole (225) and serves to induce water to flow evenly in all directions, so that the water pressure flowing into the filter (210) can be reduced more effectively.

[0037] The lower filter cap (230) may be configured to be coupled to the lower end of the filter (210) as illustrated in FIG. 3 and supported at a point adjacent to the discharge port (110), and to allow water passing through the filter (210) to move into the discharge port (110). For example, the lower filter cap (230) may include a second fixing ring portion (231), a second filter coupling portion (232), a discharge water pressure control portion (233), and a second joint portion (234) as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 7, and at this time, the connector body (100) may have a second fixing protrusion (120) formed on the inner surface thereof so as to have a step at a point adjacent to the discharge port (110).

[0038] The second fixing ring part (231) is formed in a ring shape that is in contact with the lower end of the filter (210) and is supported by the second fixing jaw (120), and may be formed to have an outer diameter adjacent to the inner surface of the connector body (100). The second filter coupling part (232) may be formed to protrude upward from the inner diameter of the second fixing ring part (231) and may be fitted into the inner side of the lower end of the filter (210). In addition, the discharge water pressure control part (233) may be formed in a plate shape that has a diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the discharge port (110), and may be positioned downward at a predetermined distance from the second fixing ring part (231) so as to correspond to the central portion of the second fixing ring part (231) through the second joint part (234) described later. The second joint (234) is formed to connect the second fixed ring portion (231) and the discharge water pressure control portion (233) so that a plurality of filter discharge holes (235) are formed radially between the second gorilla portion (231) and the discharge water pressure control portion (233).

[0039] As described above, when water passing through the filter (210) moves downward toward the lower filter cap (230), it comes into contact with the upper surface of the discharge water pressure control unit (233) as shown in FIG. 7 and then moves outward and moves to the discharge port (110) through the filter discharge hole (235), thereby reducing the water pressure discharged from the filter (210). In addition, the discharge water pressure control unit (233) may have its upper surface convexly formed toward the upper side, which allows water hitting the discharge water pressure control unit (233) to flow smoothly to the filter discharge hole (235) and serves to induce water to flow evenly in all directions, thereby more effectively reducing the water pressure discharged toward the discharge port (110).

[0040] The first connection cover (300) can be connected to the upper part of the connector body (100) at the lower part as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, and an inlet (310) is formed at the upper part to which a first hose (20) connected to a water tap (10) can be connected. For example, the lower part of the first connection cover (300) can be detachably connected to the connector body (100) through screw connection, and when replacement of the filter (210) is required, the user can easily replace the filter (210) by disconnecting the first connection cover (300) connected to the connector body (100) and then taking out the filter member (200). And the inlet (310) formed in the first connection cover (300) is provided to protrude upward and has screw threads formed on the outer surface so that the first hose (20) connected to the water tap (10) can be connected, and may be provided from the top of the first connection cover (300) toward the inside so that screw threads are formed on the inner surface so that the inlet (310) can be directly connected to the water tap (10).

[0041] The second connection cover (400) is formed to surround the discharge port (110) as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3, and is coupled to the connector body (100), and a second hose (40) connected to the shower head (30) at the bottom can be coupled thereto. The second connection cover (400) is detachably coupled to the connector body (100). As illustrated in FIG. 8, when the second connection cover (400) is coupled to the connector body (100), water discharged through the discharge port (110) via the filter member (200) is discharged to the outside via the shower head (30) via the second hose (40). As illustrated in FIG. 9, when the second connection cover (400) is detached from the connector body (100), water that has passed through the filter member (200) is discharged to the outside via the discharge port (110).

[0042] It is preferable that the second connection cover (400) be configured to be directly coupled with the discharge port (110) constituting the connector body (100), and the discharge port (110) and the second connection cover (400) may adopt various coupling methods, but it is preferable that the discharge port (110) and the second connection cover (400) be coupled in a detachable manner through a protruding groove structure so that separation between the mutually coupled discharge port (110) and the second connection cover (400) can be easily achieved, and a firm coupling state can be maintained when the discharge port (110) and the second connection cover (400) are coupled.

[0043] The above-mentioned protrusion-groove structure may include a coupling protrusion (510) formed in the discharge port (110) or the second connection cover port (400), as shown in FIG. 2, FIG. 10 to FIG. 12, and a coupling groove (520) formed in the second connection cover port (400) or the discharge port (110) in which the coupling protrusion (510) is not formed.

[0044] For example, the coupling protrusion (510) may be formed to protrude from the outer surface of the discharge port (110) or the inner surface of the second connection cover (400) in a piece-like shape, and a plurality of them may be arranged at regular intervals along the outer periphery of the discharge port (110) or the inner periphery of the second connection cover (400). In addition, a plurality of coupling grooves (520) may be formed to recess along the inner periphery of the second connection cover (400) or the outer periphery of the discharge port (110) so as to correspond at least to the coupling protrusion (510) on the inner surface of the second connection cover (400) or the outer surface of the discharge port (110) where the coupling protrusion (510) is not formed. Specifically, the coupling groove (520) may include a first guide groove portion (521) that guides downward movement of the coupling protrusion (510) inserted from the upper side as illustrated in FIGS. 10 to 12, and a second guide groove portion (522) that extends in one direction from the lower end of the first guide groove (521) and guides the coupling protrusion (510) that has moved downward to move in one direction. At this time, it is preferable that the second guide groove portion (522) be formed to have a left-right length longer than the left-right width of the coupling protrusion (510) and an upper-lower width corresponding to the upper-lower width of the coupling protrusion (510).

[0045] When the user couples the second connecting cover (400) to the outlet (110), as shown in FIG. 10, the coupling protrusion (510) is inserted into the first guide groove (521) and moves downward to come into contact with the lower end of the first guide groove (521), so that the second connecting cover (400) wraps around the entire outlet (110), and then, as shown in FIG. 11, the coupling protrusion (510) is positioned at the end of the second guide groove (522) spaced apart from the first guide groove (521), thereby allowing the second connecting cover (400) to be coupled to the outlet (110).

[0046] At this time, the coupling protrusion (510) is formed so that the lower part has a convex shape facing downward, and the first guide groove (521) is arranged in the vertical direction and the edge spaced from the second guide groove (522) can be formed to be inclined downward in one direction. Therefore, when the user inserts the second connection cover (400) so that it covers the discharge port (110), the lower part of the coupling protrusion (510) can naturally move toward the second guide groove (522) along the downwardly inclined edge of the first guide groove (521) as illustrated in FIG. 10. In addition, the edge that is arranged in the vertical direction in the first guide groove (521) and is adjacent to the second guide groove (522) can be formed vertically, the second guide groove (522) can be formed horizontally, and the upper edge of the coupling protrusion (510) can be formed to form a right angle. Accordingly, when the coupling protrusion (510) is positioned within the second guide groove (522), the upper end can be in maximum contact with the second guide groove (522), thereby maintaining the stability of the coupling, and since the edge adjacent to the second guide groove (522) in the first guide groove (521) and the second guide groove (522) form a right angle, even if the coupling protrusion (510) is slightly deviated from the second guide groove (522), it may not be easily detached.

[0047] And when n (n is a natural number greater than or equal to 2) coupling protrusions (510) are formed, m (m is a multiple of n) coupling grooves (520) are formed, so that when the second coupling cover opening (400) is introduced into the discharge port (110), the directionality of the second coupling cover opening (400) that allows the coupling protrusion (510) to be inserted into the coupling groove (520) does not need to be greatly considered. In addition, the coupling groove (520) may further include a third guide groove portion (523) so that the coupling protrusion (510) can be moved into the first guide groove portion (521) even if the coupling protrusion (510) is not directly inserted into the first guide groove portion (521).

[0048] As illustrated in FIG. 12, the third guide groove (523) may be formed so that the lower end convexly faces upwards, connecting the upper end of the edge adjacent to the second guide groove (522) in the first guide groove (521) constituting one coupling groove (520) and the upper end of the edge spaced apart from the second guide groove (522) in the first guide groove (521) constituting the other coupling groove (520). Accordingly, even if n coupling protrusions (510) enter the coupling groove (520) in which m are formed and the coupling protrusions (510) are settled at the lower end of the third guide groove (523), the coupling protrusions (510) formed with the lower end convexly can slide down in one or the other direction along the lower end of the third guide groove (523) and enter the first guide groove (521) formed at one or the other side of the third guide groove (523).

[0049] Meanwhile, in order to prevent water leakage through gaps that may occur when joining components of the present invention and when joining components of the present invention and external components, a packing member (e.g., an O-ring, a packing washer, etc.) made of a material such as rubber or silicone may be provided at the part where the components are joined. For example, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, an O-ring may be provided at the bottom of the inlet (310) of the first connection cover (300) where the connection with the first hose (20) is made, and an O-ring or a packing washer may be provided at the bottom inner side of the second connection cover (400) adjacent to the discharge hole (111) of the discharge hole (110) to prevent water coming out through the discharge hole (111) from leaking into the gap between the discharge hole (111) and the second connection cover (400). In addition, in order to prevent water flowing between the filter (210) and the connector body (100) from flowing into the outlet (110) through the gap between the lower filter cap (230) and the connector body (100) without passing through the filter (210), a packing washer may be provided, as shown in FIG. 7, whose upper surface is in contact with the second fixing ring portion (231) and whose lower edge is supported by the second fixing jaw (120). In addition, an O-ring may be provided at the point where the connector body (100) and the first connection cover (300) are screw-connected, and an O-ring may also be provided at the point where the second hose (40) is screw-connected in the second connection cover (400).

[0050] As described above, the shower hose connector of the present invention can not only allow water to be discharged to the outside through the shower head (30) by connecting the second connection cover (400) to the connector body (100), but also allow water to be discharged to the outside through the discharge port (110) by separating the second connection cover (400) from the connector body (100), so that water discharged at a point not too high from the ground through the discharge port (110) can be used to wash feet or objects placed on the floor, allowing both hands to be used freely while preventing excessive splashing of water discharged onto the floor. In addition, since water that has passed through the filter (210) is discharged not only when water is discharged from the shower head (30) but also when it is discharged close to the floor through the discharge port (110), purified water can always be used.
