Description

Method and system for assisting crew to handle failure TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a method for assisting crew to handle failure, which can be used in aircraft avionics system, and can realize the integrated design of identification and handling of warning and alert levels. The present invention also relates to a system for assisting crew to handle failure, which can be used as part of the aircraft avionics system. The present invention belongs to the field of aircraft systems. BACKGROUND

[0002] According to the requirements of relevant civil aviation regulations, the flight crew alert of the aircraft is divided into three levels of warning, alert and prompt, and the first two levels of alert require the crew to identify and respond immediately and include the corresponding handling procedures (i.e. a set of operation steps).

[0003] The existing mainstream scheme for providing display alert indication can be divided into the following scheme one and scheme two. Through analysis and research of public data, the summary is as follows.

[0004] Scheme one adopts a 4+1 display unit layout. Under normal configuration, three display units on the inner side of the main instrument panel and the front end of the central control console adopt display allocation design based on multi-function window (MFW). The crew can control different display units through the format switch of left / right display selection panel (DSP) and left / right multi-function keyboard (MFK), i.e. manually switch to view the schematic page (SYS) or electronic check list (CHKL) as needed, wherein the electronic check list is used to display the handling procedure.

[0005] However, the crew alert message (CAS) of the aircraft avionics system in scheme one is a relatively independent subsystem from the schematic page and the electronic check list, and does not have an integrated design. After receiving the alert, the crew needs to manually issue a demand instruction. In particular, when facing multiple alerts, the crew needs to spend time and effort to issue instructions to view the schematic page and / or abnormal handling procedure, and the aircraft avionics system provides insufficient support to the crew.

[0006] Scheme two adopts fixed 2 windows to complete the display integration of alert, schematic and handling procedure, and this system is called electronic centralized aircraft monitoring (ECAM). The alert message and the corresponding simplified abnormal handling procedure are provided through the warning display (WD) window, and the system display (SD) window automatically updates to provide an indication of the real-time status of the system.

[0007] However, the window positions of the warning display window and the system display window of scheme two are fixed, and the display allocation design based on multi-function window is not adopted.

[0008] At present, more and more functions are integrated in the avionics system of an aircraft, and it is expected to provide more functions in several windows in a better visible position, so the demand for display allocation design of multi-functional windows is increasingly urgent.

[0009] Therefore, it is urgent to provide a system with a certain degree of automation feature, which realizes the integrated design of identification and disposal of alert and above, for assisting the crew to dispose faults. SUMMARY

[0010] In view of the above problems of the prior art, the inventors provide a method for assisting the crew to dispose faults with a higher automation feature, which is used for the avionics system of an aircraft and can realize the integrated design of fault alert, system state schematic page and disposal procedure.

[0011] In a first example of the method for assisting the crew to dispose faults, the method comprises the following steps:

[0012] After the system is updated in real time and the information of the alert is received, the alerts are sorted from high to low based on the levels of the received alerts, and the alert of the current highest level is obtained; it is judged whether the type of the alert of the current highest level belongs to prompt or belongs to warning or alert; when the alert of the current highest level belongs to prompt, the method is ended; and when the alert of the current highest level belongs to warning or alert, it is judged whether the alert of the current highest level is associated with the schematic page, and when the alert of the current highest level is associated with the schematic page, the schematic page of the alert of the current highest level is popped up in the first window, and the method is ended; when the alert of the current highest level is not associated with the schematic page, the disposal procedure corresponding to the alert of the current highest level is popped up in the first window, and the method is ended.

[0013] In a second example of the method, the first example is optionally included, and the method further comprises: when the alert of the current highest level is associated with the schematic page, the soft switch of the disposal procedure of the schematic page of the alert of the current highest level is further focused on the cursor on the schematic page of the alert of the current highest level in the first window. In this way, when the crew personnel has a demand, the crew personnel can directly open the disposal procedure of the alert, which can reduce the work load of the crew personnel and reduce human errors.

[0014] In a third example of the method, optionally including one or more of the first example and the second example, the method further includes: when the current highest level alarm is associated with a diagram page, further determining whether the first window has displayed the diagram page of the current highest level alarm, and when the first window has displayed the diagram page of the current highest level alarm, updating the diagram page of the current highest level alarm in the first window instead of popping up the diagram page of the current highest level alarm, and when the first window has not displayed the diagram page of the current highest level alarm, popping up the diagram page of the current highest level alarm in the first window. Thus, the crew can obtain the latest diagram page and understand the real-time situation of the alarm.

[0015] In a fourth example of the method, optionally including one or more of the first example to the third example, the method further includes: when the current highest level alarm is associated with a diagram page, further focusing a cursor on a soft switch of a handling procedure of the diagram page of the current highest level alarm on the diagram page of the current highest level alarm in the first window. Thus, when the crew has a demand, the crew can directly open the handling procedure of the alarm, which can reduce the workload of the crew and reduce human errors.

[0016] In a fifth example of the method, optionally including one or more of the first example to the fourth example, the method further includes: when the current highest level alarm is not associated with a diagram page, further determining whether the first window has displayed a handling procedure corresponding to the current highest level alarm, and when the first window has displayed the handling procedure corresponding to the current highest level alarm, taking no action instead of popping up the handling procedure corresponding to the current highest level alarm, and when the first window has not displayed the handling procedure corresponding to the current highest level alarm, popping up the handling procedure corresponding to the current highest level alarm in the first window.

[0017] The application also discloses a system for assisting a flight crew to handle a fault, which can be part of an aircraft avionics system, wherein the system comprises an alarm sequencing module, an alarm matching module and a display management module, and can execute one or more of the first to fifth examples, the alarm sequencing module sorts alarms from high to low based on the levels of the received alarms after real-time updating and receiving information of the alarms, and obtains an alarm of a current highest level; the alarm matching module judges whether the type of the alarm of the current highest level belongs to a prompt or a warning or a guard, and based on the judgment result that the alarm of the current highest level is a prompt, does nothing, or based on the judgment result that the alarm of the current highest level is a warning or a guard, further operates, judges whether the alarm of the current highest level is associated with a schematic page, and based on the judgment result that the alarm of the current highest level is associated with the schematic page, sends a demand instruction to the display management module, instructing to pop up the schematic page of the alarm of the current highest level, or based on the judgment result that the alarm of the current highest level is not associated with the schematic page, sends a demand instruction to the display management module, instructing to pop up a handling procedure corresponding to the alarm of the current highest level; the display management module automatically specifies a first window in a plurality of windows of the aircraft, and the display management module receives the demand instruction from the alarm matching module, and pops up the schematic page of the alarm of the current highest level in the first window or pops up the handling procedure corresponding to the alarm of the current highest level in the first window.

[0018] The application is suitable for an aircraft avionics system, and provides a method and a system for assisting a flight crew to handle a fault with high automation characteristics. The method and the system can realize integrated design of fault alarms, system states and handling procedures, help to improve the safety level of the aircraft, enhance the situational awareness of the flight crew and reduce the work load of the flight crew. [0027] First of all, the present application mainly relates to an aircraft avionics system in the field of any aircraft. In particular, the present application relates to the part of the aircraft avionics system that handles faults, for example to the integrated design of the identification and handling of alerts, but is not limited to providing a schematic page of the system status and an abnormal handling procedure.

[0028] The terms "comprising", "having", "including", and their variants, as used herein, are intended to be open-ended transitional phrases, terms, or words that require the presence of the named components / steps and permit the presence of other components / steps.

[0029] In the present invention, unless explicitly stated to the contrary, the terms "first", "second", and the like, do not denote any ordinal, positional, quantitative, or important difference, but are merely used as labels to distinguish different locations, components, and / or positions from each other, for the purpose of distinguishing one element, component, region, and / or position from another element, component, region, and / or position.

[0030] The present invention will be further described with reference to the accompanying drawings and specific examples in which more details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention, it will be apparent, however, that the present invention can be practiced in a variety of ways and that the present invention is not limited to the specific examples described below. It will be understood that any features described in relation to one example can be incorporated into any other example unless specifically stated to the contrary.

[0031] Fig. 1 schematically illustrates a block diagram of a method 1 for assisting a flight crew to handle a fault according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0032] In one non-limiting example, the method 1 for assisting a flight crew to handle a fault according to the present invention comprises, at step 13, obtaining a current highest level of alert, which can be achieved by receiving the alert at the preceding step 11, step 12, and sorting the alerts.

[0033] In one non-limiting example, after obtaining the current highest level of alert, the method 1 for assisting a flight crew to handle a fault according to the present invention comprises, at step 21, determining the type of the current highest level of alert (hereinafter referred to as the alert). As previously mentioned, the alerts of a flight crew of an aircraft are classified into three levels of warning, caution, and advisory, wherein the first two levels of alerts require the crew to immediately identify the response and include the corresponding handling procedures (i.e. handling actions, operation steps), while the advisory level of alert does not require further operation.

[0034] In this example, when the type of the alert at step 21 is advisory, the method 1 for assisting a flight crew to handle a fault according to the present invention can proceed to end.

[0035] In addition, when the type of the alert at step 21 is warning or caution, the method 1 for assisting a flight crew to handle a fault according to the present invention can comprise, at step 23, determining whether the alert is associated with a schematic page.

[0036] Generally, the alerts are classified into two categories, one is for abnormal operating environment and the other is for abnormal system status, the latter is fault category alert, some of which are associated with the system status diagram page of the mechanical and electrical system, such as gas, electricity, fuel, liquid, etc. In addition, for all fault category alerts, it is recommended to provide the crew with abnormal handling procedures so that the crew can correctly respond to abnormal system status. That is, for fault category alerts, there are two types, one is fault category alert with abnormal procedure and diagram page, and the other is fault category alert without abnormal procedure and diagram page.

[0037] Therefore, for the fault category alert messages of the warning and caution levels, the corresponding diagram page and / or handling procedure can be automatically popped up and / or automatically updated for these alerts according to the preset relationship by level.

[0038] In this example, when the alert is associated with the diagram page at step 23, the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault of the present application can include, at step 25, popping up the diagram page of the alert in the first window, wherein the first window 131 can be the window in the best visual position among the multiple windows of the aircraft automatically designated by the system 100 for assisting the crew to handle the fault which adopts the display allocation design based on the multi-functional window. Then the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault of the present application can proceed to the end.

[0039] In a non-limiting example, after step 25, the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault of the present application can include, at step 28 (not shown), further focusing the cursor on the soft switch of the handling procedure of the diagram page of the alert of the current highest level in the diagram page of the alert in the first window. In this way, when the crew has the need, the crew can directly open the handling procedure corresponding to the alert. This helps the crew to conveniently access the handling procedure corresponding to the alert after confirming the fault condition corresponding to the alert in the diagram page, which can reduce the workload of the crew and reduce human errors. Then the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault of the present application can proceed to the end.

[0040] In addition, when the alert is not associated with the diagram page at step 23, the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault of the present application can include, at step 27, popping up the handling procedure corresponding to the alert in the first window. Then the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault of the present application can proceed to the end.

[0041] FIG. 2 schematically shows another flowchart of the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault according to an embodiment of the present application.

[0042] In this example, the method 1 for assisting the crew to handle the fault of the present application includes, at step 13, obtaining the alert of the current highest level. For brevity, the same steps as the foregoing method are not repeated.

[0043] In this example, after obtaining the current highest level of alert, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure comprises, at step 21, judging the type of the current highest level of alert (hereinafter referred to as the alert).

[0044] In this example, when the type of the alert at step 21 belongs to prompt, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can proceed to the end.

[0045] In addition, when the type of the alert at step 21 belongs to warning or caution, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can comprise, at step 23, judging whether the alert is associated with a schematic page.

[0046] In this example, when the alert is associated with a schematic page at step 23, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can comprise, at step 24, further judging whether a first window has displayed the schematic page of the alert, wherein the first window 131 can be a window in a better visual position among the plurality of windows of the aircraft automatically designated by the system 100 for assisting the crew to handle the failure which adopts the display allocation design based on the multi-functional window.

[0047] When the first window has displayed the schematic page of the alert at step 24, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can comprise, at step 26, updating the schematic page of the alert in the first window instead of popping up the schematic page of the alert. Subsequently, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can proceed to the end.

[0048] In addition, when the first window has not displayed the schematic page of the alert at step 24, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can comprise, at step 25, popping up the schematic page of the alert in the first window as above. Subsequently, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can proceed to the end.

[0049] In this example, after step 25, step 26, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can comprise, at step 28, further focusing the cursor on the soft switch of the handling procedure of the schematic page of the current highest level of alert in the schematic page of the current highest level of alert in the first window. In this way, when the crew member has the need, the crew member can directly open the handling procedure corresponding to the alert. This helps the crew member to conveniently access the handling procedure corresponding to the alert after confirming the failure condition corresponding to the alert in the schematic page, which can reduce the workload of the crew member and reduce human errors. Subsequently, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the crew to handle the failure can proceed to the end.

[0050] Further, when the alarm is not associated with the schematic page at step 23, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the unit to handle the fault can comprise, at step 29, judging whether the first window has displayed the handling procedure corresponding to the alarm.

[0051] When the first window has displayed the handling procedure corresponding to the alarm at step 29, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the unit to handle the fault can proceed to the end.

[0052] Further, when the first window has not displayed the handling procedure corresponding to the alarm at step 29, the method 1 of the present application for assisting the unit to handle the fault can comprise, at step 27, popping up the handling procedure corresponding to the alarm in the first window as described above. Then the method 1 of the present application for assisting the unit to handle the fault can proceed to the end.

[0053] Fig. 3 schematically shows a schematic diagram of the system 100 for assisting the unit to handle the fault according to an embodiment of the present application.

[0054] In one non-limiting example, the system 100 for assisting the unit to handle the fault of the present application comprises an alarm sorting module 110. The alarm sorting module 110 can sort the received alarms to obtain the current highest level alarm 111. The alarm sorting module 110 can be an existing alarm sorting module.

[0055] In one non-limiting example, the system 100 for assisting the unit to handle the fault of the present application comprises an alarm matching module 120 and a display management module 130. The alarm matching module 120 and the display management module 130 can realize the integrated design of the identification and handling of the alarm.

[0056] In this example, the alarm matching module 120 is used to establish the matching relationship of the fault class alarm, the schematic page of the system state and the abnormal handling procedure. The alarm matching module 120 can judge the type 122 of the current highest level alarm 111 (hereinafter referred to as the alarm) as warning or alert or prompt.

[0057] The alarm matching module 120 can have no further operation, i.e. no operation, based on the judgment result that the type of the current highest level alarm 111 (hereinafter referred to as the alarm) is prompt 121a.

[0058] Further, the alarm matching module 120 can further operate based on the judgment result that the type of the alarm is warning or alert 121b, and judge whether the alarm is associated with the schematic page.

[0059] The alarm matching module 120 can send a demand instruction to the display management module 130 based on the judgment result that the alarm is associated with the schematic page 123a, instructing to pop up the schematic page of the alarm.

[0060] Further, the alarm matching module 120 can send a demand instruction to the display management module 130 based on the result of the judgment that the alarm is not associated with the schematic page 123b, instructing to pop up the troubleshooting procedure corresponding to the alarm.

[0061] In this example, the display management module 130 is a display management module of the system 100 for assisting the crew to troubleshoot the fault, which adopts a display allocation design based on a multi-functional window. The display management module 130 can automatically designate a window of the aircraft as the first window 131, where the first window 131 can be a window in a better visual position.

[0062] The display management module 130 can receive a demand instruction from the alarm matching module 120 to pop up the schematic page of the alarm in the first window 131.

[0063] Preferably, based on the result of the judgment that the alarm is associated with the schematic page, the display management module 130 can further focus the cursor on the soft switch of the troubleshooting procedure of the schematic page of the alarm on the schematic page of the alarm in the first window 131.

[0064] Further, the display management module 130 can receive a demand instruction from the alarm matching module 120 to pop up the troubleshooting procedure corresponding to the alarm in the first window 131.

[0065] In a non-limiting example, based on the result of the judgment that the alarm is associated with the schematic page, the display management module 130 can further judge whether the first window 131 has already displayed the schematic page of the alarm.

[0066] The display management module 130 can update the schematic page of the alarm in the first window 131 based on the result of the judgment that the first window 131 has already displayed the schematic page of the alarm, instead of popping up the schematic page of the alarm.

[0067] Further, the display management module 130 can pop up the schematic page of the alarm in the first window 131 based on the result of the judgment that the first window 131 has not displayed the schematic page of the alarm.

[0068] Preferably, based on the result of the judgment that the alarm is associated with the schematic page, the display management module 130 can further focus the cursor on the soft switch of the troubleshooting procedure of the schematic page of the alarm on the schematic page of the alarm in the first window 131.

[0069] In a non-limiting example, based on the result of the judgment that the alarm is not associated with the schematic page, the display management module 130 can further judge whether the first window 131 has already displayed the troubleshooting procedure corresponding to the alarm.

[0070] The display management module 130 can not operate, but pop up the treatment procedure corresponding to the alarm based on the result of the judgment that the first window 131 has displayed the treatment procedure corresponding to the alarm.

[0071] The display management module 130 can display the treatment procedure corresponding to the alarm in the first window 131 based on the result of the judgment that the first window 131 has not displayed the treatment procedure corresponding to the alarm.

[0072] Example 1

[0073] FIG. 4 schematically shows the jumping process of each display image in the display panel of the system for assisting the crew in treating the fault according to the embodiment of the present application in the case of the first set of hydraulic overheat (HYD 1 OVHT), which belongs to the fault type alarm with a simple diagram page and an abnormal procedure.

[0074] The display management module determines the specified window, which can be the inner side of the right seat inner display or the inner side of the left seat inner display.
