Abstract
Description
Splicing unit and part supply device including the same
[0001] The present invention relates to a splicing unit and a part supply device including the same, and more specifically, to a splicing unit capable of supplying continuous parts and a part supply device including the same.
[0002] A component supply device is a device that supplies components to mounting equipment based on reels loaded with components. A reel refers to a bundle of tapes in which components are stacked in a row. Since tapes cannot be extended indefinitely, when one reel is fully supplied, another reel must be supplied immediately. To achieve this, the operator must connect the preceding reel with the following reel using splicing tape or similar means. This process is time-consuming and requires consumables; furthermore, splicing errors may occur depending on the operator's skill level and fatigue.
[0003] The aforementioned background technology is technical information that the inventor possessed for the derivation of the present invention or acquired during the process of deriving the present invention, and it cannot be considered as publicly known technology disclosed to the general public prior to the filing of the present invention.
[0004] The present invention aims to solve the aforementioned problems by providing a splicing unit capable of supplying continuous parts and a part supply device including the same.
[0005] However, these problems are exemplary, and the problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited thereto. Problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from this specification and the accompanying drawings.
[0006] One embodiment of the present invention discloses a splicing unit comprising: a first driving unit that contacts a first reel and a second reel and moves the first reel and the second reel in a supply direction; a second driving unit positioned behind the first driving unit with respect to the supply direction and contacts the second reel and moves the second reel in the supply direction; a splicing guide positioned in front of the second driving unit with respect to the supply direction and movable in a direction perpendicular to the supply direction; and a control unit that controls the operation of the first driving unit, the second driving unit, and the splicing guide, wherein the splicing guide moves the second reel so that the second reel is separated from the second driving unit and seated on the first driving unit.
[0007] In this embodiment, the apparatus further includes a first entry detection unit positioned behind the second driving unit with respect to the supply direction, which transmits a first signal to the control unit when it detects the starting point of the second reel, and when the control unit receives the first signal, it drives the second driving unit and can move the splicing guide in a first direction.
[0008] In this embodiment, the control unit may stop the operation of the second driving unit after a predetermined time has elapsed following the reception of the first signal.
[0009] In this embodiment, the second entry detection unit is further included, which is positioned in front of the second driving unit based on the supply direction and transmits a second signal to the control unit when it detects the starting point of the second reel, and the control unit can stop the driving of the second driving unit when it receives the second signal.
[0010] In this embodiment, the device further includes an end point detection unit positioned in front of the first driving unit with respect to the supply direction, which transmits a third signal to the control unit when it detects the end point of the first reel, and when the control unit receives the third signal, it stops the driving of the first driving unit and can move the splicing guide in a second direction.
[0011] In this embodiment, the second reel can be separated from the second driving unit and seated on the first driving unit as the splicing guide moves in the second direction.
[0012] In this embodiment, the reel seating detection unit further includes a unit that transmits a fourth signal to a control unit when the second reel is seated on the first driving unit, and the control unit can drive the first driving unit when it receives the fourth signal.
[0013] In this embodiment, a fall prevention member may be further included that is positioned behind the first driving member with respect to the supply direction and prevents the second reel from moving in the opposite direction of the supply direction.
[0014] Another embodiment of the present invention discloses a component supply device comprising the aforementioned splicing unit, a pickup unit, and a transfer unit having a third driving unit disposed between the splicing unit and the pickup unit.
[0015] In this embodiment, the first reel and the second reel reach the third driving unit by the first driving unit, and can reach the pickup unit by the third driving unit.
[0016] Other aspects, features, and advantages other than those described above will become clear from the following specific details, claims, and drawings for implementing the invention.
[0017] A splicing unit and a part supply device including the same according to one embodiment of the present invention can supply continuous parts even without physically connecting the first reel and the second reel, and can save time and cost incurred in connecting the first reel and the second reel. [0040] Hereinafter, a splicing unit according to an embodiment of the present invention and a component supply device including the same will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 10.
[0041] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing a splicing unit (100) according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the connection relationship between components in a splicing unit (100) according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3a and FIG. 3b are diagrams showing a second reel (R2) used in a splicing unit (100) according to an embodiment of the present invention being transported by a second driving unit (120).
[0042] The splicing unit (100) can serve to continuously supply a reel (R) loaded with parts to a pickup unit (300) without interruption. In other words, the splicing unit (100) can continue to supply a new reel (R) once the transfer of the currently supplied reel (R) is completed. Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the splicing unit (100) may include a first drive unit (110), a second drive unit (120), a splicing unit (130), a control unit (140), a first entry detection unit (150), a second entry detection unit (160), an end point detection unit (170), a reel seating detection unit (180), and a fall prevention unit (190).
[0043] A reel (R) generally refers to a bundle of tapes in which parts are stacked in a row, but in this specification, it may also refer to the tape itself in which parts are stacked in a row. Referring to FIG. 3a, the reel (R) may be provided with a pocket (P) in which parts are stacked in the center and transfer holes (H) arranged along the length direction of the tape on both sides of the pocket (P). Referring to FIG. 3b, a tooth (T) provided in a driving unit (110, 120, 130) to be described later may be fitted into the transfer holes (H).
[0044] The reel (R) may include a first reel (R1) and a second reel (R2). The first reel (R1) may refer to the reel (R) that was previously supplied to the pickup unit (300). The second reel (R2) may refer to the reel (R) that will be newly supplied following the first reel (R1).
[0045] The components may include, but are not limited to, materials assembled into electronic products such as printed circuit boards (PCBs).
[0046] The first driving unit (110) contacts the first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2) and can move the first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2) in the supply direction (M). The first driving unit (110) may include a tooth (T) that can be fitted into the aforementioned transfer hole (H). In one embodiment, the first driving unit (110) may include a sprocket gear. When the first driving unit (110) rotates in the first rotation direction (V), the tooth (T) fitted into the transfer hole (H) engages with the transfer hole (H), and the reel (R) can be moved in the supply direction (M).
[0047] The second drive unit (120) can serve to transport the second reel (R2). Referring to FIG. 1, the second drive unit (120) may be positioned behind (B) the first drive unit (110) with respect to the supply direction (M). The second drive unit (120) may be positioned on the opposite side of the first drive unit (110) with respect to the first reel (R1). In one embodiment, the first drive unit (110) may be positioned at the bottom of the first reel (R1), and the second drive unit (120) may be positioned at the top of the first reel (R1).
[0048] The second drive unit (120) contacts the second reel (R2) and can move the second reel (R2) in the supply direction (M). Referring to FIG. 3b, the second drive unit (120) may include a tooth (T) that can be fitted into a transfer hole (H) provided in the second reel (R2). In one embodiment, the second drive unit (120) may include a sprocket gear. When the second drive unit (120) rotates in the second rotation direction (W), the tooth (T) fitted into the transfer hole (H) engages with the transfer hole (H), and the second reel (R2) can be moved in the supply direction (M).
[0049] The splicing unit (130) can serve to move the position of the second reel (R2). More specifically, the splicing guide (131) can move the second reel (R2) so that the second reel (R2) is separated from the second drive unit (120) and seated on the first drive unit (110). The splicing unit (130) may include a splicing guide (131) and a guide drive unit (133).
[0050] Referring to FIG. 1, the splicing guide (131) may be positioned in front (F) of the second drive unit (120) with respect to the supply direction (M). The splicing guide (131) may be positioned on one side of the first drive unit (110). Specifically, the splicing guide (131) may be positioned on the opposite side of the first drive unit (110) with respect to the first reel (R1). In one embodiment, the splicing guide (131) may be positioned on the upper side of the first drive unit (110).
[0051] The splicing guide (131) may include a block. Although the cross-section of the splicing guide (131) in FIG. 1 is shown as a rectangle, the specific shape of the splicing guide (131) is not specifically limited. In one embodiment, the splicing guide (131) may include a rectangular shape having a predetermined thickness. In another embodiment, the splicing guide (not shown) may include a cross-section shape that becomes thicker in the supply direction (M) and is convex toward the first driving unit (110). Accordingly, when the splicing guide pushes the second reel (R2) from the second driving unit (120) to the first driving unit (110), the impact or resulting damage to the second reel (R2) and the parts loaded on the second reel (R2) can be minimized.
[0052] The splicing guide (131) can move in a direction perpendicular to the supply direction (M). In one embodiment, the splicing guide (131) can move in a direction perpendicular to the supply direction (M) toward or away from the first driving unit (110). In one embodiment, the splicing guide (131) can move up or down, with reference to FIG. 1.
[0053] A detailed description of the operation in which the splicing guide (131) separates the second reel (R2) from the second drive unit (120) and places it on the first drive unit (110) will be given later.
[0054] The guide drive unit (133) can supply driving force to operate the splicing guide (131). In one embodiment, the guide drive unit (133) may include an actuator. In one embodiment, the guide drive unit (133) may include a hydraulic cylinder, a motor, or a linear motion member. As the guide drive unit (133) supplies driving force to the splicing guide (131), the splicing guide (131) can smoothly push even a second reel (R2) loaded with heavy parts to the first drive unit (110).
[0055] The control unit (140) can control the operation of the first drive unit (110), the second drive unit (120), and the splicing guide (131). Specifically, the control unit (140) can rotate the first drive unit (110) in a first rotational direction (V) or stop the first drive unit (110) that was rotating. The control unit (140) can rotate the second drive unit (120) in a second rotational direction (W) or stop the second drive unit (120) that was rotating. The control unit (140) can control the guide drive unit (133) to move the splicing guide (131) in a direction perpendicular to the supply direction (M).
[0056] The control unit (140) may be electrically connected to the first entry detection unit (150), the second entry detection unit (160), the end point detection unit (170), and the reel settling detection unit (180), which will be described later. Referring to FIG. 2, the control unit (140) may receive a first signal (S1) from the first entry detection unit (150). The control unit (140) may receive a second signal (S2) from the second entry detection unit (160). The control unit (140) may receive a third signal (S3) from the end point detection unit (170). The control unit (140) may receive a fourth signal (S4) from the reel settling detection unit (180).
[0057] The control unit (140) receives the first signal (S1), the second signal (S2), the third signal (S3), and the fourth signal (S4) and can automatically control the operation of the first driving unit (110), the second driving unit (120), and the splicing guide (131). Accordingly, the efficiency of the reel (R) supply operation can be increased. Below, the operation of the splicing unit (100), which varies depending on the type of signal received by the control unit (140), will be described.
[0058] FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the change in operation of the splicing unit (100) when the control unit (140) according to one embodiment of the present invention receives a first signal (S1) from the first entry detection unit (150).
[0059] The first entry detection unit (150) can detect whether the second reel (R2) has entered the splicing unit (100). Specifically, the first entry detection unit (150) can detect the starting point (R2s) of the second reel. The principle by which the first entry detection unit (150) detects the starting point (R2s) of the second reel is not particularly limited. In one embodiment, the first entry detection unit (150) may include a vision sensor or an infrared sensor.
[0060] In another embodiment, a mark is attached to the starting point (R2s) of the second reel, and the first entry detection unit (150) may include a detector of the mark. For example, the mark attached to the starting point (R2s) of the second reel may include an RFID tag (Radio-Frequency Identification tag), a one-dimensional code, and a two-dimensional code. More specifically, the mark may include a barcode and a QR code. Correspondingly, the first entry detection unit (150) may include an RFID reader, a one-dimensional code reader, and a two-dimensional code reader. The mark attached to the starting point (R2s) of the second reel may include information regarding a component loaded on the second reel (R2).
[0061] Referring to FIG. 4, the first entry detection unit (150) may be positioned behind (B) the second driving unit (120) with respect to the supply direction (M). When the first entry detection unit (150) detects the starting point (R2s) of the second reel, it may transmit a first signal (S1) to the control unit (140). When the control unit (140) receives the first signal (S1), it may drive the second driving unit (120).
[0062] Specifically, when a worker inserts the starting point (R2s) of the second reel into the splicing unit (100) and the first entry detection unit (150) detects the starting point (R2s) of the second reel, the control unit (140) can rotate the second drive unit (120) in the second rotation direction (W). When the worker continues to insert the starting point (R2s) of the second reel and the tooth (T) of the second drive unit (120) is inserted into the transfer hole (H) provided in the second reel (R2), the second reel (R2) can be automatically fed into the supply direction (M) by the rotation of the second drive unit (120) in the second rotation direction (W).
[0063] Additionally, when the control unit (140) receives the first signal (S1), it can move the splicing guide (131) in the first direction (J). The first direction (J) may be a direction perpendicular to the supply direction (M). More specifically, the first direction (J) may be a direction away from the first driving unit (110). Under the control of the control unit (140), the splicing guide (131) may move from the point indicated by the dotted line in FIG. 4 to the point indicated by the solid line.
[0064] Before the operator inserts the starting point (R2s) of the second reel into the splicing unit (100), the splicing guide (131) may have pushed the first reel (R1) to the first drive unit (110). The point indicated by the dotted line in FIG. 4 may be the position where the splicing guide (131) remains stationary after pushing the first reel (R1). The point indicated by the solid line in FIG. 4 may be the position where the splicing guide (131) can push the second reel (R2) to the first drive unit (110).
[0065] When the second reel (R2) is fed into the splicing unit (100) by driving the second driving unit (120) under the control of the control unit (140), the splicing guide (131) moves in the first direction (J), thereby preparing the next operation to seat the second reel (R2) on the first driving unit (110).
[0066] In one embodiment, the control unit (140) may stop the operation of the second drive unit (120) after a predetermined time has elapsed following the reception of the first signal (S1). Accordingly, the phenomenon in which the second reel (R2) is separated from the second drive unit (120) before the supply of the first reel (R1) is finished due to the load of the parts loaded on the second reel (R2) caused by the second reel (R2) moving excessively in the supply direction (M) can be prevented. Conversely, the phenomenon in which the second reel (R2) is not properly seated on the first drive unit (110) can be prevented by being pushed by the splicing guide (131) while the second reel (R2) has not moved sufficiently can be prevented. Additionally, in the case of this embodiment, the second entry detection unit (160), which will be described later, is unnecessary, so the components of the splicing unit (100) can be simplified and manufacturing costs can be reduced.
[0067] The predetermined time may be the length from the point where the starting point (R2s) of the second reel is engaged with the second drive unit (120) and moves until the point where the starting point (R2s) of the second reel is positioned above the first drive unit (110). The predetermined time may be determined in advance according to the radius of the second drive unit (120) and the distance in the supply direction (M) between the first drive unit (110) and the second drive unit (120).
[0068] FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the change in operation of the splicing unit (100) when the control unit (140) according to one embodiment of the present invention receives a second signal (S2) from the second entry detection unit (160).
[0069] The second entry detection unit (160) can serve to indicate when the movement of the second reel (R2) by the second driving unit (120) should be stopped. Specifically, the second entry detection unit (160) can detect the starting point (R2s) of the second reel. The principle by which the second entry detection unit (160) detects the starting point (R2s) of the second reel is not particularly limited. In one embodiment, the second entry detection unit (160) can detect the starting point (R2s) of the second reel using the same principle as the first entry detection unit (150).
[0070] Referring to FIG. 5, the second entry detection unit (160) may be positioned in front (F) of the second driving unit (120) with respect to the supply direction (M). When the second entry detection unit (160) detects the starting point (R2s) of the second reel, it may transmit a second signal (S2) to the control unit (140). When the control unit (140) receives the second signal (S2), it may stop the driving of the second driving unit (120).
[0071] Accordingly, the phenomenon in which the second reel (R2) is separated from the second drive unit (120) before the supply of the first reel (R1) is finished due to the load of the parts loaded on the second reel (R2) by moving the second reel (R2) excessively in the supply direction (M) can be prevented. Conversely, the phenomenon in which the second reel (R2) is not properly seated on the first drive unit (110) can be prevented by being pushed by the splicing guide (131) while the second reel (R2) has not moved sufficiently.
[0072] Referring to FIG. 5, the position of the second entry detection unit (160) can be placed in front (F) of the first driving unit (110) with respect to the supply direction (M). The second entry detection unit (160) can be placed in front (F) of the splicing guide (131) with respect to the supply direction (M).
[0073] The position of the second entry detection unit (160) can be determined by the distance in the supply direction (M) between the first driving unit (110) and the second driving unit (120) and the load of the second reel (R2) with the parts loaded.
[0074] FIG. 6 is a drawing showing the process in which a second reel (R2) is separated from a second driving unit (120) and placed on a first driving unit (110) by a splicing unit (130) according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 7 is a drawing showing the second reel (R2) placed on a first driving unit (110) by a splicing unit (130) according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0075] The end point detection unit (170) can detect the point at which the second reel (R2) is separated from the second driving unit (120) and placed on the first driving unit (110) so that the second reel (R2) can be transferred to the pickup unit (300) described later following the first reel (R1).
[0076] Specifically, the endpoint detection unit (170) can detect the endpoint (R1e) of the first reel. The principle by which the endpoint detection unit (170) detects the endpoint (R1e) of the first reel is not specifically limited. In one embodiment, the endpoint detection unit (170) can detect the endpoint (R1e) of the first reel using the same principle as the first entry detection unit (150) or the second entry detection unit (160).
[0077] Referring to FIG. 6, the end point detection unit (170) may be positioned in front (F) of the first driving unit (110) with respect to the supply direction (M). Accordingly, the point at which the end point detection unit (170) detects the end point (R1e) of the first reel may be when the end point (R1e) of the first reel is separated from the first driving unit (110) and the first reel (R1) is not fitted into the first driving unit (110).
[0078] In one embodiment, the position of the end point detection unit (170) can be adjusted in a direction parallel to the supply direction (M). Accordingly, the distance between the end point (R1e) of the first reel and the start point (R2s) of the second reel can be adjusted.
[0079] The end point detection unit (170) can transmit a third signal (S3) to the control unit (140) when it detects the end point (R1e) of the first reel. When the control unit (140) receives the third signal (S3), it can stop the operation of the first driving unit (110). Accordingly, the second reel (R2) can be more smoothly seated on the first driving unit (110) while it is stopped.
[0080] Additionally, when the control unit (140) receives the third signal (S3), it can move the splicing guide (131) to the second direction (K). The second direction (K) may be a direction perpendicular to the supply direction (M). The second direction (K) may be the opposite direction to the first direction (J). More specifically, the second direction (K) may be a direction that approaches the first driving unit (110).
[0081] The second reel (R2) can be separated from the second drive unit (120) and seated on the first drive unit (110) as the splicing guide (131) moves in the second direction (K). Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, as the splicing guide (131) moves in the second direction (K), the front part of the second reel (R2) can be pushed toward the first drive unit (110). Accordingly, the second reel (R2) can be separated from the second drive unit (120) and moved toward the first drive unit (110) by the weight of the second reel (R2) itself. The second reel (R2) can be seated on the first drive unit (110) by fitting the tooth (T) provided in the first drive unit (110) into the transfer hole (H) provided in the second reel (R2).
[0082] FIG. 8 is a diagram showing the change in operation of the splicing unit (100) when the control unit (140) according to one embodiment of the present invention receives a fourth signal (S4) from the reel seating detection unit (180).
[0083] The reel seating detection unit (180) can detect whether the second reel (R2) is properly seated on the first driving unit (110). The principle by which the reel seating detection unit (180) detects whether the second reel (R2) is properly seated on the first driving unit (110) is not particularly limited. In one embodiment, the reel seating detection unit (180) may include a pressure sensor. The reel seating detection unit (180) may be positioned on the first driving unit (110) where one side of the second reel (R2) contacts when the tooth (T) provided in the first driving unit (110) is properly fitted into the transfer hole (H) provided in the second reel (R2). The reel seating detection unit (180) can detect whether the second reel (R2) is properly seated on the first driving unit (110) by detecting a pressure change caused by the load of the second reel (R2).
[0084] The reel seating detection unit (180) can transmit a fourth signal (S4) to the control unit (140) when the second reel (R2) is seated on the first driving unit (110). When the control unit (140) receives the fourth signal (S4), it can drive the first driving unit (110). That is, when the second reel (R2) is seated on the first driving unit (110), the control unit (140) can rotate the first driving unit (110) in a first rotation direction (V). Accordingly, the supply of the second reel (R2) to the pickup unit (300) can begin.
[0085] Due to the operation of the splicing unit (100) described through FIGS. 4 to 8, continuous supply of parts is possible without physically connecting the first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2), and time and cost required to connect the first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2) can be saved. In addition, since splicing is performed automatically under the control of the control unit (140), splicing errors that may occur depending on the operator's skill level and fatigue can be prevented.
[0086] FIG. 9 is a drawing showing a fall prevention part (190) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0087] The fall prevention member (190) may be positioned behind (B) the first drive member (110) with respect to the supply direction (M). The fall prevention member (190) may prevent the second reel (R2) from moving in the opposite direction of the supply direction (M). Specifically, the fall prevention member (190), with reference to FIG. 9, may include a one-way bearing (191) and a support member (193).
[0088] The one-way bearing (191) can rotate in only one direction so that the second reel (R2) moves only in the supply direction (M). That is, the one-way bearing (191) can rotate only in the first rotation direction (V) which is the same as the rotation direction of the first drive unit (110).
[0089] The support member (193) may include a shape protruding radially from the one-way bearing (191) so as to support the pocket (P) provided in the second reel (R2). That is, the support member (193) can support a part of the second reel (R2) that is separated from the second drive unit (120).
[0090] The fall prevention member (190) prevents the second reel (R2) from falling in the opposite direction of the supply direction (M) due to the load of the parts loaded on the second reel (R2) when the second reel (R2) is separated from the second drive member (120) and moves toward the first drive member (110), thereby allowing the second reel (R2) to be stably seated on the first drive member (110). Additionally, the fall prevention member (190) can support the second reel (R2) so that even after the second reel (R2) is seated on the first drive member (110), the second reel (R2) can be smoothly transported in the supply direction (M) by the rotation of the first drive member (110).
[0091] FIG. 10 is a drawing showing a component supply device (1) according to another embodiment of the present invention.
[0092] The component supply device (1) is a device that supplies components to a mounting device (Z) based on a reel (R) loaded with components. Referring to FIG. 10, the component supply device (1) may include a splicing unit (100), a transfer unit (200), and a pickup unit (300). Since the description of the splicing unit (100) has been previously described with reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 9, the transfer unit (200) and the pickup unit (300) will be described below.
[0093] The transfer unit (200) can serve to transfer a reel (R) loaded with parts from the splicing unit (100) to the pickup unit (300). The transfer unit (200) may include a third drive unit (210).
[0094] The third drive unit (210) can contact the reel (R) and transport the reel (R). The third drive unit (210) may include a tooth (T) that can be fitted into a transport hole (H) provided in the reel (R). In one embodiment, the third drive unit (210) may include a sprocket gear. When the third drive unit (210) rotates, the tooth (T) fitted into the transport hole (H) engages with the transport hole (H), thereby transporting the reel (R).
[0095] A third drive unit (210) may be positioned between the splicing unit (100) and the pickup unit (300). The first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2) may reach the third drive unit (210) by the first drive unit (110). The first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2) may reach the pickup unit (300) by the third drive unit (210).
[0096] The pickup unit (300) can pick up parts loaded on the reel (R) by the mounting equipment (Z).
[0097] In another embodiment, the part supply device (not shown) may include a splicing unit (100) and a pickup unit (300). The first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2) may reach the pickup unit (300) by the first driving unit (110).
[0098] By equipping the part supply device (1) with the aforementioned splicing unit (100), continuous supply of parts is possible even without physically connecting the first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2), and time and cost required to connect the first reel (R1) and the second reel (R2) can be saved. In addition, since splicing is performed automatically under the control of the control unit (140), splicing errors that may occur depending on the operator's skill level and fatigue can be prevented.
