Abstract

The design concerns the visual features of a portal opener as shown in the enclosed drawings, that consists of a motor and drive unit for a sliding gate automation system, which are mechanisms designed to automate the opening and closing of sliding gates. The motor of the unit is an electric motor that powers the movement of the gate, whereas the drive mechanism includes a pinion that in use engages a rack mounted on the gate; this converts the motor's rotational motion into linear motion, moving the gate along a track.
