A method (1000) for determining the variability of a repetition of a given measurement process to be performed on a test object (1), comprising: a step (300) of performing a plurality of measurements on a test object (1) relating to (210, 211, 212) and thereby obtaining at least one distribution (310, 311, 312) of measured values of a measurand (3) having at least one degree of variability (310a, 311a, 312a), in particular a range of variability; and a step of evaluating the variability of a desired repetition from the at least one degree of variability (310a, 311a, 312a) of the at least one distribution (310, 311, 312) of the obtained measured values.
